[Speaker 1] How far away are you moving from where you currently are? About 10 minutes south. That's not too bad. Yeah. No, it's great. It's more convenient. It's going to be like three minutes from Amelie's preschool. Like walking or driving? Driving. Even then, it's like a 10-minute walk. It's not so bad. Yeah, probably. I mean, it's Southern California. They don't walk anywhere. [Speaker 2] Exactly. [Speaker 1] Drive everywhere. Drive everywhere. You'd take the freeway to the bathroom. There ain't no walking. It's probably like a, it's going to be about 0.9 miles from this area here. We had to find a one-story because Aaron has some knee problems, in addition to other stuff. So our two-story wasn't working anymore. It's really hard to find. I think anywhere in the U.S. right now, it's really hard to find a rental. Unless you know Tim, then you can find a rental. Hi, Mr. Tim. Hi, Geshe-la. Aha. Did you have any homework I forgot? No, you didn't give me any. All right. You did do something? I did a just brief overview of what we did last term. Would you like to give us a summary of your book? Sure. Given that it's a really short book and we're going to get it done in a couple weeks, we just really got into it. We didn't really get very far. But let's just review quickly what we've done. First, Geshe-la, thanks for giving me this opportunity. I never really thought that this would happen. I was asking, hey, can I get an easy text that I could do on my own? And they were like, yeah, sure, here's 30 years. No, it's 50 years. Okay, great. It just keeps growing in time. But really, thank you very much for the opportunity. You earned it, actually. And I have all the time in the world to do it, too, so we'll figure that out as well. You don't have anything else. All right. So where are we here? So we're doing the dialectical analysis of the perfection of wisdom. It's a commentary to the Abhisamha Alankara. And this commentary is by Kedrup Thempa Dargay. So I have a question for everybody. Why is this picture here? Goodness. Right. Right. And we're going to learn about this. I think we're going to start Asanga's biography today, actually. How Asanga met Maitreya and then how this teaching came to be. So last term, we went over the structure of the 50 years. And it's broken up into eight large topics. And we really didn't learn what they all meant. But the first one is the knowledge of all things, omniscience. That one is an easy idea, at least to capture as an idea. The knowledge of the path, the knowledge of the foundation. And then we get into things where we're not really sure what they all mean. The complete practice, the practice of the summit, the practice of the end. The practice of the instance. And then the last topic is the result, the Dharmakaya. So we're in the first topic. I think this topic will probably take us. This is one of the longest sections. I think it would probably take us 30 years or something like that, what Geshe-la had suggested. So buckle up. We've got a long time to go. So we ended up getting into the first debate. So before the first debate, there was a long section of praises, which was a lot of fun. I like it. At first, I never really liked the opening praises. I was like, can we just get on to the real thing? But, you know, I really like it a lot. It really, I felt really comfortable with it. And it's really, it feels wonderful to honor people. And then we moved into the first debate. And the debate's really about like who defined, what defines a person who's an innovator? Someone who's a creator of something. And then what defines a person who is a marketer of those ideas? You know, those aren't the exact words in Tibetan, but that's the idea. You know, who is someone who creates something new? And if something is even new, if new is even possible. And then who is a disseminator of those ideas? And we just got started with that. But what was really neat for us, I think, at the very end, is we got to see that this book is primarily the lower middle way. It's a description of the lower middle way. And we learned that it's a recounting of it. But we've learned that Kedruk Tempe Dargah is not a lower middle wayist. He's an upper middle way. And the way that we learned that is he gave an argument that said, well, Nagarjuna. He said, because Nagarjuna, essentially. So we learned that he's actually a follower of the upper middle way, but he's just reporting on the lower middle way for us. So 50 years on lower middle way, here we go. Good. Nice summary. By the way, it's going to pass quickly. Don't worry. These things tend to pass quickly. And then you're sorry that they pass. All right. As Tim pointed out, and thank you for the excellent summary of your text and the work that you put into it. We're going to go to... As Tim mentioned, I think let's have fun. And before we get into the confusing part, let's talk about the life story of Arya Sangha. Many of you have heard a part of it from the... What's that meditation called? Lion's Dance. In the Lion's Dance, we did some history of Arya Sangha. But here's his history, his life story from a very wonderful book called The Biographies of All the Lamrim Masters. And that's a wonderful book of biographies. I don't know, maybe a hundred or more different biographies of great lamas. So we're going to read that together. And here we go. Please read. And let me find someone to bother you. Alex Rivas. And Tim, try to make some mistakes for Alex, okay? Thank you. All right. Okay. I'm going to try that line next time. All right. Okay, nice, nice. This is a famous line. ,RGYAL BA'I LUN DANG PHAG PA THOG MED SHAB, It's part of a poem. Okay? And that poem is here. The name is here, Tim. Oh, it's in the Source of All My Good. Yeah, it's in the very famous Source of All My Good. And LUNG BSTAN PA means what, you guys? LUNG BSTAN PA. Prophesied. Prophesied. So LUNG BSTAN PA, by who? The Gyalwas. The kings. Victors. The victors. RGYAL PO is king. RGYAL BA is victor. They're obviously related. After you RGYAL BA, you're RGYAL PO. So, this person was foretold that he would come by the Buddhas of the past. And that's THOG MED. What's that? Arya Sangha. Yeah, Arya Sangha. Good. SHAB means I bow down to his feet, his holy feet. SHAB is the high honorific for feet. So, when you see SHAB at the end of a line, it always means I bow down at the feet of this person. LHAG PA means this one line is already a praise of a Sangha. So, the Sangha who is praised in that line from the Source of All My Good is also described in another book called Jampel Tsoggyu. Tsoggyu means root tantra. So, it's the original tantra of Janpeyong. Yeah, and this is a very, very famous tantra. And we're going to see a quotation from it. I went and got it for you. Where is that? Yeah, here it is. Yeah. The root text of Manjushri. The root tantra of Manjushri. So, let's look at the lines from YIN DANG ZHIG RGYUD MA. Here it is. RGYAL BA'I LUNG BRTEN PAG PA THOG MED SHES SANGS RGYI CHANG SEMS SU MA GSUM DANG I bow down to these Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. So, who wrote the YIN DANG ZHIG RGYUD MA? Geshe-la Kaplan. Okay, good. So, there's the line quoted in the database. And let's go look at the... Let's go look at the... This is a prediction from the Root Tantra of Manjushri, a prediction of Arya Sangha coming, okay? So please read, okay? Who's correcting me? Oh, I think it was Haggerty. Rob Haggerty wants to correct me. All right, let's do individual. There we go, okay. Okay, okay. NA NI NA YIN DE'I OG OG Is it with a G or just OG DU? OG DU, yeah. OG DU LO NI DRUG YANG LON PA NA DOG ME CHE BYA'I GYEL ONG NI DEN CHOD DI NI DON LA SKAD Okay, good. There's a couple of problems with this lens, okay? If you're really a careful translator, okay? This tantra also predicts the coming of Nagarjuna, okay? And the prediction of Nagarjuna is very, very famous. It's somewhere here. The prediction of Nagarjuna says, 600 years after my passing, there will come Nagarjuna. Okay? This tantra says, 600 years after my passing, Nagarjuna will come. Then these first two lines here, which say 900 years after my final nirvana, okay? And he added those lines, okay? They're not in the tantra, okay? Just so you know, Tim, okay? So your author has, based on the pattern of what was used for Nagarjuna, which was really there, he has added these two lines, okay? So the tantra doesn't really give a date, all right? If you read it as 900 years, that's about correct according to Western scholars. That would be about 350 AD, okay? 300, 350 AD, okay? So these first two lines are supplied by Kedrup Tenpa Dagye, I'm afraid, okay? So 900 years after my nirvana, there will come a monk named Togme. A Sangha. And he will be a master of the meaning of that commentaries, classical commentaries. And then later we see in commentaries, they're talking about Nagarjuna, okay? So if you don't know that, this is a hard verse to read, okay? There will come a monk, his name will be a Sangha, and he will be a master of the meaning of those classical commentaries, meaning of Nagarjuna, the classical commentaries of Nagarjuna, okay? Yay. So one shingta sulche is depending on another one, which is not legal. All right, here we go. Please read this first, second one. You just said something I didn't understand at all. Could you say that again? The definition of a shingta sulche, of an innovator, is the shingta sulche sheng di jesu ma dangwa. They shouldn't be following another. Got it, okay. I'm sorry, I didn't understand that. Now I know where you're at. Yeah, so it's a little tricky here. He's a master of Nagarjuna, but he's not following him. Okay. All right, please read the next verse, okay? And Hasa wants to check you, yay. NDO DE GNAS DANGWA DANG, DANG BA'I DANG NAM PA MANG PO RAB TU CHE, JING TEN RIG PA DUN DAG NI SHUNG CHE NANG SU CHEN DU GYUR CHEN DU GYUR Good. And he will, BYAS PA, second line. He will, BYAS PA, means like in Gibson's text, he will divide, okay, all the sutras into NGES DUN and DANG DUN. To their literal and figurative. Yeah, and that's extremely interesting because these lines are from a tantra in the Kangyur. So already, maybe before the third turning of the wheel, you have somebody discussing figurative and literal. Okay? It's very interesting. This is not a Tengyur text. This is written, this is spoken by the Buddha. He's already talking about some of what I said is literal, some of what I said is figurative. It's a very important line to be in the Kangyur. It's kind of amazing. All right? So this Arya Sangha, he's going to take my scriptures and divide them into what's literal and what's figurative. JING TEN RIG PA DUN DAG NI SHUNG CHE NANG SU CHEN DU GYUR DUN, sorry, JING TEN RIG PA. He will also teach the knowledge of the world. DUN DAG NI. This DAG NI means DAG NI CHEN PO. Mahatma. Yeah, he will be a mahatma who also understands all the ways of the world. And he will open a scriptural tradition and that will be his thing. NGANG TSUL. Okay? It's not DANG TSUL. NGANG TSUL means that's the way he's going to do his thing. Okay? NGANG TSUL means that's his style. Okay? He will know the teachings of the world, the knowledge of the world. And he's also going to open a lot of new scriptural traditions. Okay? Okay, keep going. And I need a new victim here. Let me see. Isabel? Okay. Are you translating? Nod or shake your head. [Speaker 2] I'm not translating. [Speaker 1] All right. So go ahead and... Tim, make some fun mistake. DE'I RIG PA'I DRUG PA NI SA LE PO NYA PO NYA MÖ NE DROD Is that DROD? DROD, yeah. MÖ SHES DROD. DE'I NGAG KYI DROD YI NI BLO NI SANG PO SKYE BAR GYUR SKYE BAR GYUR Good. DE'I RIG PA'I DRUG PA NI This doesn't normally... Yeah. Normally it would be RIGS PA. Okay. I should check. Hang on. Yeah, okay. It's still that way. All right. The way his mind works, I guess you have to read it. And this should be... Okay. The way his mind works, he will be referred to as the PO NYA MÖ. The messenger. Yeah, good. And a female messenger. Okay. PO NYA MÖ of the Sāla. And we're going to talk about Sāla. Okay. Sāla is a tree. All right, kind of tree. He will be the messenger of the Sāla tree. And due to the power of mantra, let me make sure it's spelled right. Yeah. Due to the power of mantras, his mind will become pure. That's a joke, right? Got it? Yeah. He will be LOB SANGS. All right. So Tsongkhapa's name is hidden in this ancient tantra. He will be pure mind. He will be a... They're still talking about a sangha, but he will be a LOB SANGS. Okay, got it? [Speaker 2] Geshe-la, don't forget the percentage sign before your correction there on the second line. [Speaker 1] Oh, yeah. Okay, good. Okay. And by the way, Tim, I went to look, what's a messenger of a Sāla tree and what the heck is that talking about? And I didn't make any progress on that. Maybe you can find it. Geshe-la, we did it in my text. Oh, was it Teaching of the Buddhas or something like that? No, it was like a very specific tantra. We, yeah, we have footnotes on it in the beginning of the Golden Key. And I think in the beginning of the text we're doing now, if Tim wants to look at them. Can you pull it out at Shantos next time, Word? Okay. Yeah, no problem. Okay, good. The messenger of the Sāla. Okay. All right. I'm going to push this down. Please read this first, Tim. Who's checking? I'm going to fix this. Okay. Who would like to check? Oh, yeah. How about Isabel's still going? Okay. Yes. DEN PA YUNG RING NE RJE BYA How do you say that? RJE? BYA NE RJE NE RJE BYA NE RJE BYA RDO YI GNAS YI DOD DON BYAS BLO NI RGYA DANG What was that? [Speaker 2] Is that right? The last one? The last one? [Speaker 1] It's okay. BLO NI RGYA DANG Now Tim, NGOB DRU is an exception where you have to pronounce the B. NGOB DRU? Yeah, NGOB DRU. Yeah, NGOB DRU. NGOB DRU. Good. DE LUS ZHIG NAS LA YOD DRO Okay, good. DEN PA YUNG RING NE RJE BYAR This BYA means in order to. So in order that the teachings of the Buddha should stay for a long time in this world, he will make summaries of the sutras. And those are, for example, the SAD DENG NA, the five great books on the BUMIS. Bodhisattva BUMIS. The books about the BUMIS. With huge, massive collection of scripture by Asanga. That not written with... By Maitreya. With Lord Maitreya. So he was collaborator on the five books of Maitreya, but he wrote himself the great five books of the BUMIS. The levels of practice. So he will... DUD DUN BYAS He will summarize the 990 sutra texts of the Kandya in his own BUMIS books. And he will... So this SO means... What SO'O NGA you guys? LOB SO'O NGA The five wrong ways of earning a living. Yeah, good. So SO means earning a living, but it also means to stay alive. So what's it mean here you guys? It means the 150 ways of professions or living. It means he will live for... 315 years. 150 years, okay? He will live to 150, okay? And then his LU will JIG. His body will... Die. Jig, die. Then his body will die, and he will go to the LHA YUL. Go to the heaven of the angels. Yeah, good, good. He will go to the land of the angels, okay? So that's a prediction of a Sangha, of Arya's Sangha in an ancient tundra of Manjushri, okay? Cool. And there's the original quotation for your footnote. Footnote. And let's go to here, and we need a new victim. Bertha Velasco, yay. [Speaker 2] Thank you. [Speaker 1] How's your... Where's your dad? How's your dad doing? [Speaker 2] He's actually doing really well. He's 96 and going to be 97 in December. [Speaker 1] Oh my gosh, okay. Maybe he can be the new president of Mexico. I heard you guys talk about it. [Speaker 2] We're in urgent need of someone. [Speaker 1] All right, here we go. Go ahead, Tim. Bertha's going to check you. CHE SA BAR LUNG BRTEN PA LUNG BRTEN PA THUB PA'I BRTEN PA NYAM MED PA SO BA'I PHYIR DU SNYING RJE DANG MON LAM GYI DBANG GIS SHING RGYUR SRAM BZHIN DU BRTZON PA ZHIG STE Good. Oh, wow. Nice. You didn't give Bertha anything to do. I'm sorry. This Arya Sangha was LUNG BRTEN PA. It was prophesied? Yeah, it was prophesied. So were. Clearly. Yeah, clearly. I mean, to tell you the truth, all these LUNG BRTEN PAS are not clear. But okay, those verses clearly predict his coming. What will he do? He will SO BA, which we had in words text last night with the BAC CHAGS. He will SO BA the BRTEN PA of the THUB PA. This is like SO SBYONG SO BA. Nurture, fix. Yeah, he will fix the THUB PA'I BRTEN PA. The teachings of the able ones, of the Buddhas, which have NGYAM PA or meant, this DMA root means to be lower, like take men, hinayana, right? Like degenerated? Yeah, which degenerated and got worse, right? He will fix them. He comes to do that because of his NYING RJE and his MUN LAM. Because of his prayers and his compassion. Yeah, before he was born. So before he was born in this world, he had compassion for us. He did prayers. And due to the power of the compassion and prayers, he came to this SHING. Into this world. Yeah, he came into this world. JUNG, super polite word for came. What does TZAM ZHING DU mean, right? Could you say it again? Looks like he froze. What does TZAM ZHING DU mean? Think like that. Anybody? Thinking like that. No, it means intentionally. He purposely came to this. TZAM ZHING DU means purposely. He chose this world and he came here because we needed him. And he didn't come here by accident or he didn't just show up here. He had a plan. And he came to this world to fix the teachings. Okay, cool. That TZAM ZHING DU is very important. The SHING is the present active tense, right? Thinking to come here. He came here. All right. Oh my gosh, this one's too long. Geshe-la, can't you cut it? It's a little, a little, a little, a little, a little. Nah, this one hangs all together. Let's split it here. Okay, let me see somebody who wants to cause you to suffer. Stanley, are you there? [Speaker 2] Yes. [Speaker 1] Okay, try to criticize Tim. It's a lot of fun. Okay. DE YANG RGYAL BA NYA NYA. I never can do this right, these prenatals. NYA NYANG LAS DE. Good. NYANG NYANG LAS. LAS NYANG LAS. Okay. RING PO MA LUN PA NA NANG PAS BSTAN PA DE PA GO. Chö? Stanley, wake up. He said, go. It's not, it's... Chö. Chö. Oh, okay. Chö. DGE'I DGOS DGE'I PA DANG. Yeah, and by the way, Tim, this is another exception where the B is pronounced, CHOB DGE. CHOB DGE. Okay, CHOB DGE. It's just, you're going to learn it after a hundred years, the first 20 years. Okay. Well, first the DGAL BA went to NYANG NYA NYANG LAS DE PA. Well, the conqueror went to, or the victor went to nirvana, or the... Yeah, after Lord Buddha went to nirvana, before RING PO, before very long, okay? LUN PA means past, okay? So the Lord Buddha went to his final nirvana. And before very long, the SNANGS PA'I BSTAN PA, what's a SNANGS PA? That's the Buddhist word for a... [Speaker 2] Buddhist. [Speaker 1] Buddhist, okay? An inner one, okay? That's the Buddhist word for a Buddhist, okay? SNANGS PA'I BSTAN PA, the teachings of the Buddhists, split up, DGE'I PA, broke up into CHOB SKYES, groups. 18 different groups, okay? So not long after Lord Buddha passed away, the Buddhist followers broke up into 18 different groups. I'm going to split it here. Okay. All right, please read, Tim, and let me find someone to pick on you. Cameron, you want to try? All right. I'll try. Tim makes a big mistake. Hi Cameron, I don't know who you are. I'm new. Well, you're about to learn. All right. NEN NAS KYANG NEN DUG GIS DRUK STA MA BA'I RAWA MANG PO ZHIG GYI THEK CHEN GYAL WEI GA MIN NO ZHE LO Lope. Lope? Yeah. CHUNG TE THEK PA CHEN POI TEN PA ZHE CHER NYAN ME WARCHA SHING CHESHING yeah this is really difficult okay don't worry it'll come if that's how Tim started and now he's a translator they make young men do keep dupta what's dupta Tim that's mr. Kramer specialty I'm coffee so the listener school of philosophy which means basically Hinayana people okay mawa those professors many of them they said that take but chambo is not God they said my heart the Mahayana is not the speech of the Buddha good it's not the it's not the word of the Buddha they said those Mahayana scriptures like the diamond cutter sutra like the heart sutra those were not spoken by the Buddha this emptiness stuff wasn't taught by the Buddha lopar so lopar soon means they took a wrong position okay that's like locked up they took a wrong position and because of that the tape but chambo started to nyam nyam nyam nyam sounds like my tree yeah my Hanna began to we were degenerator yeah good yeah so the Mahayana started to generate and that's really true which according to DCI language who took over the accountants the accountants yeah these boring sorry Stanley I'll be Dharma guys they like took over that they hijacked Lord Buddha's teachings for seven eight hundred years okay and Buddhism got very dry and very scholastic and it kind of lost its life okay so nyam me partition then da da da da keep reading who is there I don't know what do we got here we got I guess who oh is that who I think it is how mom how Lin is translating into Spanish oh I'm sorry okay okay all right hi say hi to Shanti by the way I guess we'll go back to can we check him let's go make some mistakes come on Nanta key group time Mawa droop droop Mawa nums young and so num nice okay good nyan to keep droop Tom Mawa those people who followed the Hinayana teachings okay Hinayana systems then they started to suffer between themselves I started a fight or a quarrel yeah and what's it super is a word for what in very important for the monastery is it for debating right yeah it's used it's the word used for debating so they started here it means arguing they started arguing each other and they said Dini Demba Dini Demba but the truth my system is Demba okay and shin system is people and there's darkness okay my system is true your system is stupid okay choke chokes the game is they broke up into separate camps okay choke chokes the gate they broke up into separate camps even the Hinayana broke up into separate camps okay and therefore the Galway Demba nyam shinton yam and then the Congress teaching is really really degenerated good yeah really really degenerated now that's enough of Master Sangha's biography for your for this term and we're gonna read a little bit of his biography every term we got time I'm gonna go we have a few minutes left let's go to let's go to your actual text okay well somebody went crazy on these notes okay I believe we're here and hustle you ready give him a hassle hustle I tell you you should come to Sedona did I say that yes I'm figuring out this lifetime okay okay okay Tim go ahead and guess I don't forget just above that you have a note to give something to Peter Maria oh yeah by the way Pete Maria has an idea of how to get your text out of the st. Petersburg library which is very important okay so there's a good copy there just a copy we just need a photocopy is it from a carving or is it still is a copy of the it's an excellent carving it's probably the best in the world okay so in my opinion and I can give you the catalog number then then we have to work with you know Maria has a plan all right here we go please read all right catch ignore a sure thing they wrote wrong Taylor's Taylor shared trying that day hey ha so he said rule he said rule he said rule ah it's soon yeah so good the R is silent in the SR okay the R is silent whenever you see SR the R is silent okay why is it there orthographic purposes like it's the difference between no and no and no okay all right so somebody says there are she shing they soldiers or yeah there are four different innovators what do we say Tim there's only one no how many innovators in the world so far oh wait so we have with Lord Buddha no he's not an innovator innovator means someone who who who works off of Lord Buddha and creates a system so we have Nagarjuna we have Nagarjuna and Asanda you can say we have two and a half who's that who's a half we we say some kappa isn't it can't janky bits again talk about okay so but this guy this debater who is always wrong wrong he says Chang a Tim is that it's an idiom and it means for no less no more exactly for Chang a means exactly for okay so somebody came up and says there are four innovators okay exactly for no more no less and by the way the wrong loop is too okay we believe there's two so let's see how he makes his mistake I numbered them for you let's go one by one how so you're still up no no 10 Tony Tony key Rumba 10 lab that bar chela chepa la nunpo loo droop down all right now here's an important distinction in your text him and again the language of each of you translators has differences okay so perfection of wisdom portable Amido language lower middle way language has special words that don't appear much in other books okay here's one of them say Tim say then no 10 bed then number two here they didn't they didn't what then no 10 they did they didn't that's a big topic in your text okay so what then means anybody want to tell me word with them and bidden no 10 is the direct teachers correct yeah directly stated directly stated what did the perfection of wisdom sutras directly talk about what's their direct subject explicit in essence what is it subject emptiness exactly exactly the explicit topic of the perfection of wisdom sutras is emptiness but that implies they did okay so baby's hidden and they means implied what's implied is a whole series of realizations okay a whole series it's almost like a long rim okay so when that perfection of wisdom sutras talk about different kinds of emptiness they are implying different kinds of realization and that's a big topic in the lower middle way okay higher middle way says look all the kinds of emptiness are basically the same and the lower middle way says no no some there are many kinds of emptiness some are harder to perceive and some are easier to perceive and so when the Buddha taught different flavors of emptiness explicitly okay then implicitly he was saying we're gonna have to go through different stages of understanding different stages of realization when Toki Rimba okay because there are different flavors and degrees of emptiness that implies that we're gonna all have to go through different levels of understanding okay and that's the topic of the eight chapters of the Abhishekama on car if you even if you don't know the exact meaning of some of them they are all levels of realization of emptiness okay so the eight chapters that you're gonna spend 50 years on they are all treating different levels of understanding emptiness by study why would we study different levels of emptiness that may not be correct him because it helps us get to the correct view yeah it gets us to closer because what those incorrect versions we all have them we all get stuck on certain points so you know to help us get over our natural the natural mistakes that all people make about emptiness he made them part of the book okay like probably the first chapter is called black black black yeah just close your eyes and black black black and that's emptiness so this is the system of Arya Sangha he writes a book called the first chapters called black black black and he presents a wrong idea about emptiness that we might naturally think of okay cool by the way and it's gonna come in somebody's text what's his run what's your author's run Tim only one emptiness well yeah because if he's higher middle way underneath all of it yep why is he higher middle way oh he's well he's reporting on on all these other things and he well he mentions in the margin earlier on and he but why why is he what's the ultimate reason that he's higher middle way well he saw emptiness directly yeah he saw him he saw he's an Arya okay all Arya's are all tantric all Buddhas are higher middle way okay if you get enlightened if you see emptiness directly you've got to be higher middle way then you're automatically higher middle way so why does master Sangha spend most of his life writing a book about different flavors the emptiness so so we all can become Arya's ourselves to help us to help us okay okay cool so let's read so don't forget the main topic here I still have two minutes right you have six minutes care oh my god that's a century okay not then Tony Kira but then the pepper chip on my gumbaloo gum okay Nagarjuna came into this world to ten love pepper means to set forth the stages of emptiness which are the actual subject matter of Buddhism okay look then these are the explicit subject matter of Buddhism then came Jetson jumper who's that Tim my chair then came my trail and he set forth all the teachings about the corresponding states of mind to see all those kinds of emptiness okay he wrote that down as baited okay which is not explicitly stated in the Persian paramedic literature but it's implied that you're gonna have to figure out how to see those different kinds of emptiness and that was my trace job so how many innovators we have so far two okay here's the third one please read Tim so gang's gonna check you yeah surfer boy surfer boy gate on fire done since and choose Sony key go go Nate and love that part shape our love and Chucky the long bow now okay nice once again it's not long yeah yeah what's I get on bar that's the prashna paramita sutra in 8,000 verses okay so by the way you have a hundred thousand verses you've got 25,000 verses you've got 18,000 verses you've got 8,000 verses you've got the short one the shorter one we've got a lot of perfection of wisdoms okay the 8,000 verses is a very popular one by the way it's not a philosophical work it's a science fiction book okay it's a lot of fun to read it it's not some presentation about emptiness it's the story of a young man trying to find emptiness and it's exciting it reads just like Don Quixote okay okay get on but then somebody split it split they wrote a commentary on the 8,000 verses and they split it up into 32 sections dense and 32 topics okay dense and means topics some juice so mean means 32 and they presented the meaning of the perfection of wisdom 10 love Bepa they presented the meaning of the perfection of wisdom especially the 8,000 verses version in 32 categories okay who was that who did that lupin Cho I don't know who that is you guys we did his biography yeah big Naga he's writing on the wall of the cave right the the introduction to his book and this guy keeps erasing it so what what you guys don't know is that this great master who started Buddhist logic also wrote an extraordinary commentary to the 8,000 verses okay and he explains emptiness in 32 different categories he deserves to be what Tim an innovator he's gonna be a trail and now big number okay we got three innovators and I thought you might want to know the scripture in which he this is his commentary to the 8,000 verses okay right here and here's the here's the opening lines okay and here's the 32 okay these are the opening lines and he mentions I'm gonna explain emptiness in 32 categories okay that's the Naga the great logician okay by the way okay let's do number four before we stop go fast Alex Rivas is checking in you've been young then you know some time numb drunk to cheeky gone a ten love that part shape a la car cotton catch a chain catch a chayway a tongue cheered Trang may I insert now yeah and he says oh and there's a fourth innovator called Don Strauss Sama okay done Strauss Sama which means the army of the elephant tusks the army of of war elephants okay the the the general of the army of war elephants it's a very famous Buddhist commentator called Don Strauss Sama and Don Strauss is directly related to dental because it means tooth or tusk okay so done done and dental mean the same thing and our author has misspelled his name terribly okay and he keeps repeating it all right so it should be Mao Chao then we'll change that shit okay which means elephant tusk okay so there's a great commentator called Don Strauss Sama and he takes the meaning of the you what's you Tim yeah it's the mother the Holy Mother like you okay he takes the Holy Mother and he divides it in three doors and eleven synonyms okay he divides the whole president paramedic which we call the mother into three doors and eleven synonyms or it's eleven terms okay then the pepper chipper he explains the meaning of the president paramedic literature through these three doors and eleven topics okay therefore he also deserves to be a innovator yeah so now we got four innovators here we go we got Nagarjuna we got Maitreya then we got big Naga and then we got Dutch just in cinema okay cool I think it was a side conversation okay okay okay all right and by the way here's the here's the opening lines of Dutch to stay say not in which he he uses the three doors okay and and synonyms okay so I just went and got that for you we'll cover that later okay we can go through those three doors and those eleven synonyms for your footnote okay by the way do we accept that system that there's four no no we don't believe it and we're gonna have a debate about it and as usual during the debate we will learn the definition of a real innovator okay cool and that's the first great topic of your 50-year journey okay thank you thank you sashi sushi don't forget Nick
