[Speaker 1] So, we're going to do a little bit more Jingang Jing, and the explanation of Kamalashila. Then, just to remember where we reached last time, Buddha said, if somebody cover many millions of planets with diamonds, and they offer to Buddha, or if they take this Diamond Cutter Sutra, and just explain four lines to somebody else, then which is better? Yeah, the four lines. Okay, and he said, not just a little bit better, countless times better. Okay, then the book says, those of you who know the Diamond Cutter Sutra, let me read it to you. If someone took, held a single four lines, or explain it to others, and teach it correctly, then that's how you make that much karma. So, Kamalashila asked a question. What's it mean to hold the Jingang Jing? And what's it mean to explain it? And why is that different than teaching it? Then he gives the answer. He says, when you say hold it, it means memorize it. Then, when I was a kid, and I was in the school, a new system of education came. In America, started a new system of education. And they said, it's wrong to teach children to memorize things. Like, before that, if we memorize the names of the 50 states of America, and all the capitals names, we can get some candy. I guess it's the same in China. If you can name all the provinces and the capitals, teacher will give you some candy or something. Then later, they decided this is not a good custom. Because the children don't think. They just memorize. Then their mind doesn't learn to create things. Then in Buddhism, it's different. This sutra was taught by Buddha. Buddha knows everything in the universe. Then, we should memorize. Diamond Cutter Sutra, Heart Sutra. In our monastery, before debate, you have to say Xinjing 50 times. Then, it's not stupid. And it's not old. What happens when you memorize the names of the 50 states of America, when you memorize Xinjing, it's good to start with Xinjing. Then, what happens to you? Strange moments during the day, you will hear Buddha talking in your mind. You will hear Xinjing in your mind. Then, it's very healthy to have Buddha talking in your mind. If you go to the doctor's office, and you have to wait for two hours, everyone else is wasting their time. In America, they watch TV. Then, you can... Then, you can do something meaningful. Buddha is talking in your mind. So, I encourage you to memorize. Like most of the fire offering, I memorize. Then, you should try to memorize. Like Xinjing or something. Heart Sutra. My Lama said, not Heart Sutra. It's not Heart Sutra. It's Hard Sutra. It's... Heart means hard. Ok, so, when Buddha said, you can make a lot of karma, it means, first of all, if you memorize it, then explain it, means word by word, you explain the meaning of the sutra. Then, teach it correctly. If you teach it correctly, then, what is that? Then, if you teach it correctly, the other person gets excited to learn how to become a Buddha. Geshe-la, did you teach Kamalashidate? Yes. Did you teach it correctly? No. Why? Everybody fell asleep. They didn't feel excited, you know, to reach Buddhahood. So, teach correctly. It doesn't mean just the words. You have to make people excited. Like, play some rock and roll. Then, everybody says, ok, I can become Buddha. You know? Ok? Like that. So, that's the goal. Ok? That's how you make the most powerful karma. If people get excited, oh, I can become Buddha. From this class, I can become Buddha. Ok. Ok, then, why you make so much good karma? Then, it's because Dharma body, mind of a Buddha, the seed for the mind of the Buddha, is to share with other people. So, like, I don't know, Kelly Tan, GM, DCI, Singapore, and Malaysia, JB, KL, you know, we think, so, you know, I'm happy I can help DCI. But, helping to organize those programs, one million headaches, the karma is to reach the mind of a Buddha. Ok? So, Jasmine's not crazy. Oh, Geshe-la, I'll do it again next year. She wants the Buddha's mind faster. So, if you get a chance to organize, I organized my teacher's teachings for 25 years. And, it was hard. But, it was great. Ok? And, I'm very happy. Ok. Let's see. Let's go. You have those images, Nick? I don't know. Ok. Let's start with a picture of Singapore. It's a casino. I don't know if you have it. He'll find it. So, in Singapore, the biggest building is not a Buddhist temple. It's a casino, for gambling. And, you can see it from everywhere. It's a big, beautiful building. Then, here, Kamalashila says, when you look at that building, you can quickly imagine, oh, in English we say, somebody has deep pockets. Somebody raised the money to build this building. Nick, it's meditation number 28. Yeah. So, just when you see it, you can think, first thought is, I don't have money to build that. Everybody I know together doesn't have money to build that. But, must be some rich people in Singapore, and some investors. So, if you're an intelligent person, Kamalashila said, when you look at that building, you can almost see some big group of pang mao. Fat cat. Rich people. When you look at the building, you can imagine easily group of fat cats. In English, fat cat means rich people. Then, same way, when you look at Buddha, think about a Buddha, so beautiful, like unbelievable, most beautiful thing in the world. Then, when you think about what they know, can see all things in the universe. Can see everything in my mind right now. Then, there must be some fat cats behind the Buddha. It means heavy karma. Must be. You cannot make a person who can see everything in the universe without some expensive karma. Then can come in your mind, where can you find that kind of karma investor to build a Buddha? Who has this much karma? What can make that much karma? Only sharing kong shing with another person. That's the only karma which is strong enough. That's the only karmic investor who's big enough to build a Buddha. Okay. Then, money cannot do that. Right? Like offering money, even for Dharma. Even spending a lot of money for Dharma. Sponsoring many things for Dharma. It's a good karma. But it cannot make ... it's not a big enough karmic investor to build a Buddha. Only sharing with other people Dharma is a big enough karma investor to build a Buddha. Okay? Then, you don't have to be a big Buddhist philosopher. You don't have to be able to read ancient language. If you explain to somebody about the phantom husband, you are sharing emptiness. You are sharing the deepest part of the Diamond Cutter Sutra. So, I think one of the big successful things about DCR, we don't go everywhere and teach Sanskrit. You know? We just teach people how to use kong shing. That's real Diamond Cutter Sutra. Okay? Not the Sanskrit. Not the ancient books. Then, I love the ancient books. We work for 30 years. We put 20,000 ancient books online for free. It cost, I don't know, 5, 6 million dollars. But it's more powerful to explain about the phantom husband to somebody. That's more good karma. Because people can use it. In the real life. Okay? That's what Buddha want. Buddha doesn't want you build another library. Buddha wants to see people happy. Okay? So, if you share with your friend who's having trouble with their husband or their wife, explain to them, you know, they are coming from seeds in your mind. Learn to teach the pen. Okay? Then you are really doing what Buddha wants. And you don't have to do it on the stage. You know, you can do it in the kitchen or Starbucks. Not at KFC, okay? Just Starbucks. And, you know, share with other people. Then you are creating yourself. You are making yourself into Buddha. Okay? And just friendly, happy. Then, if you explain it correctly, the other person doesn't have to be Buddhist. It doesn't matter. If I hold the pen up, if I let go, it will fall down. If I'm in Buddhist country, it will fall down. If I'm in Christian country, it will fall down. If I'm in Muslim country, it will fall down. Okay. It doesn't matter. So, my own idea, you don't have to sell Buddhism. It doesn't matter. [Speaker 2] Okay? [Speaker 1] We teach in Muslim countries, there are 51 ACI groups in Israel, 99.999% Jewish. Two of our teachers got award last month in Mexico Congress. Stanley gave a talk at the Mexico Congress. About Jing Kang Jing. Then we didn't try to ... They are switching the camera. Huh? Oh. Maybe you can find a photo. I don't know. We didn't try to make them Buddhist. It doesn't matter. Okay? If they use seeds, they will become happy. Then Buddha will be happy. They don't have to say, I'm Buddhist. It doesn't really matter. What your parents were, you can do same. It's okay. Okay? More comfortable. Yeah, that's Stanley in Congress. Okay? Then ... So, I think if you are ... If you are skillful, share with other people. Don't tell them, you have to be Buddhist. It's not necessary. If they don't yell back at their phantom husband, you finished your job. Why? They will be happy. If they become happy because they understand the pen, then you already made the karma to become Buddha. Okay? And ... In English we say anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous. You know, if this group of people, if we change the world, you know, if all the young people are going to visit the old people in the nursing home because of us, if the whole world agrees the way to find a boyfriend is to go to a nursing home and help the old lady, if that virus spreads to every country, all the old people will be happy, all the young people will have boyfriend or girlfriend, okay? And it doesn't matter if someone say, who started the virus? You can go ... I don't know. Probably somebody started it. Okay? Then you can be happy inside. You don't need to say, I'm the best Buddhist in my country. It doesn't matter. Start good karma virus quietly. Enjoy. That's the cause to become a Buddha. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Then Kamalashila says, there are ten traditional ways to support the teachings, physical teachings. Number one, you know, cause them to be copied. Video. Do what Jamie's doing. Make copies for people. Steal this book. Just take it. Nobody owns the Dharma. I'm just postman. You sent yourself a letter many years ago. I'm just delivering your letter to you. Nobody owns the Dharma. It's free. Give it to people. Secondly, and I also, my teacher gave to me. My teacher taught me for 30 years. Sometimes all day. He never asked me for one dollar. In 30 years. I tried to give him money. He said, no, no, no. One day I gave him my bank book, cause he taught something very beautiful. Then I said, Lama, this is my bank book. Then he's like, what's this? I said, bank book. He said, what's it for? This is all my money. You know, you can take it to bank, they will give you money. Then he threw it at me. Hit me on the head. He said, I don't need your bank book. Okay? Dharma should be free. Okay. We have to pay the Hilton. That's ... We don't have karma yet that Hilton is free. We're working on it. We're working on it. Okay. Then, make offerings to help, like the person who paid for the photos. Yes. That's also very powerful karma. Then, share with other people. Read them yourself. Or watch a video. Listen to the audio. Memorize. Then there's a thing called the lung. Lung means, you know, the lama just read the sound of the book, and it's a blessing for your ear. I'll give you 30 second lung. Ready? Okay. Close your eyes. Turn up your ears. Okay. That's called lung. You just get the blessing in your ear. Then we can say, reciting from the book. Just say out loud. Then we can say, thinking about those things. Like, when you go home tonight, you know, when you're quiet in your own room, try ... you can play a game with yourself. Okay. Name three things Geshe Michael said today. He said, I'm a sucker for love. No. That was his song, I'm sorry. I like that. Try to remember three things. Okay. And meditating about those things. Okay. Then, in the sutra, Buddha tells Sabuddhi, not just you can become Buddha if you share emptiness, phantom husband, with somebody else. But all the people who were Buddha up to now, including me, Buddha used an interesting word. We were also built from sharing this kind of teachings. We were built. The Sanskrit word Buddha says, I was built by sharing the Dharma. Then, Kamalashila is a very curious person. He's like, why Buddha said I was built? It means, even when Buddha looks at Buddha's hand, with the golden fingernails, golden fingernails without going to Sephora. Okay. Then, how? There's a picture coming out of a seed. Ten small pictures coming out of seed in Buddha's mind. That's how Buddha got gold fingernails. Didn't have to paint them. There's a seed opening. And ten pictures come out. And the Buddha was built from those pictures. In the meditation today, your Lama is built from those pictures. And you are also built from pictures. So, in the Diamond Cutter Sutra, Buddha says, look, don't waste your time giving planets full of diamonds to people. Planets full of diamonds. Many worlds covered with diamonds. Not necessary. You want some good karma? Just to share as much as you understand of kongshin. With another person. And that's the most karma you can make. Why? This is how I was built. This is who gave birth to me. Who gave birth to Buddha? Seeds. Who put the seeds in Buddha's mind? Buddha did. Before he became Buddha. Then, how? Shared kongshin with other people. How? Did they read some Sanskrit to somebody? No, I was in Starbucks and my friend was complaining about her husband and I taught her about the husband who is not there. Then, Buddha says, why? Why was I made from these seeds? Then he answers, DE'I PHYI CHOS SHES NA RAB SBYOR SANGS RGYAS KYI CHOS RNAMS SANGS RGYAS KYI CHOS RNAMS SHES BYA BA NI SANGS RGYAS KYI CHOS DE DAG MED PAR DE BZHIN SHES PAS GSUNGS PA'I PHYIR TE DE'I NA SANGS RGYAS KYI CHOS RNAMS SHES BYA BA Subhūdhi, the parts that were built of me, they also don't exist. That's why I have parts. Okay? Parts of Buddha, from which Buddha is built, they also don't exist. That's why I have parts. Okay, what's it mean? Okay, you feel hot? Somebody's going like this. Oh, you're thinking about Daniel singing the song. I understand. Okay, now I have to talk about the parts. So, you start with two parts. Outside. They're outside. They are waiting for a picture. If the picture comes out of dog's mind, it will become tutorial. Okay? If the picture comes out of human's mind, it will become pen. The parts are outside. Top and bottom. They are waiting for a picture. Peter, Myrtle, we need a picture. We are just two parts. We're not anything yet. We want to be a tutorial, or we want to be a pen. You know? Can you give us a picture please? Okay. Okay, so picture has to come out on the parts. There are two parts waiting. Okay, outside. Do those parts exist? If they don't exist, you cannot put a picture on there. If they do exist, outside, then they must be coming this way. Right? No. No. We have to answer this question. How do you make a pen? How do you make a pen? There's two pieces outside. Then they are waiting for a picture. Then, you know, last week I gave a pen to somebody. When I open my hand, that picture of my hand opening comes in my eye. It touches my mind, and it makes an impression. That became a seed one week ago. Now Stanley holds up the pen, top and the bottom. Then I'm like, I don't know what it is. Then a seed opens in my mind, which I planted last week. And then, pen picture comes in my mind like in the death meditation. Small pen comes out of the karma seed, and it goes on top of this. That's how pen exists. That's how husband calling you stupid exists. What Buddha is talking about here, my parts also don't exist. My arms, my head, my chest, they also don't exist. Then Subuddhi is like, I'm getting confused Buddha. I can see you. I think you exist. Then Buddha is saying, no, no, my arms don't exist. My head doesn't exist. The top and the bottom don't exist. It means in the moment you make the pen, at that moment, there's two parts out there. They are waiting for a picture. Where did they come from? Don't think they are coming this way. Don't think they are sitting outside waiting for your picture. You made them one moment before. Top picture and bottom picture came out. Ready? Who made the bottom picture? Top of the bottom and the bottom of the bottom. Then your picture made them, okay? Piku de piku. Okay. I'd like to take a break there. Okay. And we'll start after the break. Okay. Let's take a break. Then in the next section, we're still talking about how to build a Buddha. And Kamalashila talks about a special prayer written by Arya Nagarjuna 2,000 years ago. Ready? I'll give you ... I'll say it for you. SKYE BA DI'I SKYE BA DGON SEMS RNAMS YESHES TSOGS RDZOGS BZHIN SEMS RNAMS YESHES LAS CHUNG BA'I DANG PA KUN YIN THOB PAR ZHOG Did you hear that before? We do it every class. Okay? It's the last prayer for every class. So now you know where it came from. Arya Nagarjuna. 2,000 years ago. And Master Kamalashila also talked about this prayer. Okay. Then here's how Arya Nagarjuna explained it. SDOR NA RGYAL BA'I CHOS KUN NI YESHES TSOGS LAS CHUNG BA STE SANGS RGYAS RNAMS KYI GZUGS NI SRON NAMS TSOGS LAS CHUNG BA'O This is the original. It says that Dharma body, body number three and body number four, they come from understanding Kungshing. Okay? So when someone explains to you the pen, and you think about the pen a lot, and you share about the pen with other people, then you are making the cause for the mind of the Buddha. [Speaker 2] Then SRON NAMS KYI TSOGS, the other two bodies, physical bodies, they come from those other perfections. [Speaker 1] Giving, keeping the ten virtues, not getting angry, and enjoying to do good karma. Okay, so then we have a question. You know, how ... I understand when I look at my arm, that arm is emptiness. It has Kungshing. And if I have good seeds, then I will see a human arm. And if I have really good seeds, I will see Buddha's arm. But how can you say I make the seeds to have Buddha's mind? That's more difficult. Okay, I understand the seeds is to think about the pen, and to share with other people about the pen. I understand that. But how does the seed open for my mind? [Speaker 2] How does a seed open to create my mind? Then we talked about it the other day. [Speaker 1] Okay, all day long, you are hearing someone talking inside your mind. You are talking to yourself inside your mind. All day long. Okay, then we said you are the listener. [Speaker 2] You are listening to the sounds. [Speaker 1] The thoughts come out of seed in your mind, and then you hear them. So, you are the listener. [Speaker 2] You are not the talker. Who's the talker? Your seeds. [Speaker 1] Okay, so this is very useful for emotional problems. Last year we went to ... where is it? Shanghai? [Speaker 2] Guangzhou. [Speaker 1] We went to a special hospital. It's a big hospital for mental problems. [Speaker 2] Then when a person is depressed, when they hear sad thoughts in their mind, those are also coming out of seeds. Who put the seeds there? I did. How? [Speaker 1] I didn't help my friend who's depressed. Okay, so this is a radical new way to stop depression. Teach depressed people about the four steps. All depressed people in every country, they share one quality. They are just thinking about themselves. [Speaker 2] Geshe Michael, I'm depressed. I feel sad. Whole day, I'm depressed. [Speaker 1] I say, anybody else in your family is depressed? [Speaker 2] No, you don't understand, I'm depressed. [Speaker 1] So, depressed people, they have a special problem. They don't think how are other people feeling. They just focus on their own depression. Because of that, it's difficult to cure depression. Because to cure depression, I must think about your depression. And I must help you. But depressed people don't want to. So, it's important in this tradition. If you have friends who are very sad, usually something bad happens to them. In America, two out of three women were hurt by men to have sex or something like that, okay? When they were young, or when they reach college, some men push them to have sex or bother them in some way. Then they have some sadness. Cannot forget it. So, there are many, many people like that. Usually, depression comes from some trauma. Somebody hurt us. Maybe even a relative. Maybe even some relative bothered the woman. Then they have ... after that, they have some sadness in their mind. So, if you want to help those people, teach them four steps. Number one, I want to stop my sadness about what happened to me when I was younger. Number two, find another person who has this problem. I don't know in China. In America, people don't like to talk about it. [Speaker 2] It happens to many, many, many people, but nobody likes to talk about it. [Speaker 1] Then, you can ... in this system, you can talk to other people. Please don't tell everybody, but when I was young, this person forced me to have sex or bothered me sexually. [Speaker 2] Then, talk about it with other people who you trust. [Speaker 1] And then, 50% of the time, they'll say, oh, that happened to me also. [Speaker 2] Then, you can help them. [Speaker 1] Step number three, right? [Speaker 2] And then, be happy that you're helping them. [Speaker 1] Then, that will change the seeds in your mind which are causing depression. Suddenly, you will feel happy because you are helping someone else who had this problem. Okay? [Speaker 2] So, that's how Buddha's mind also come out of seeds. [Speaker 1] DGE BA'I DI'I means by this karma of this class, I made really good karma today. [Speaker 2] You know? [Speaker 1] I listened to Kongxing all day even though I feel tired. DGE BA'I DI'I means by this good karma, DGE BA KUN means all the people in the world. SON NAM YOD SHES SOGS May they collect good karma from the first four perfections. Giving, being nice to people, being patient, and having fun when you're doing good karma. Okay? Those four. May all people get a lot of those karmas. And may they also get the karma which is produced by perfection number five and number six. [Speaker 2] Which is meditating and thinking about the pen. Okay? [Speaker 1] The last two, DANG PA KUN NYID THOB PAR ZHOGS means may they get the two bodies which are made by those two kinds of karma. [Speaker 2] May they get the physical body of Buddha, and may they get the mental body of Buddha. [Speaker 1] By the karma of me sitting in this class all day. Okay. Okay. Now we reach the new section. And the Buddha says something unusual. Of course. Let me see if I can find it. He says to Subuddhi, if a person sees emptiness directly, do they think to themselves, Oh, I did it! I saw emptiness directly. What do you think? Okay, there's a long answer, okay? And we just have 15 minutes, okay? So focus. I'll tell you something cool. If you meditate a lot, and if you take care of other people, like help old people, sick people, people who have upset mind, then if you do that, and if you study this teaching, if you keep going, then one day, maybe you are making some tea [Speaker 2] on the stove, and you've been meditating a lot, [Speaker 1] you've been making good karma, you've been helping organize teachings, things like that, helping some teacher, helping any teacher, [Speaker 2] Dharma teacher, [Speaker 1] then this is a special karma. Then while you're making the tea, you know, you're waiting for the water to boil, then suddenly, your seed will ripen, and you say, wow! The tea pot, the pot of water, is not out there. It's a picture in my own mind. [Speaker 2] Okay? [Speaker 1] If you meditate a lot, you can see the picture of the water pot come out of the seed of the karma in your own mind. First time, in billions of lives, you're watching the water start to boil, then suddenly, you understand, I'm watching picture in my own mind. [Speaker 2] It came out of karma seed. [Speaker 1] Okay? If you work very hard, you will reach that. Dependent origination. That's not kong shing. You just saw dependent origination. Which side is dependent origination? This one? Because you can see lots of things here. Okay? That's dependent origination. [Speaker 2] Okay? [Speaker 1] It means, if you're lucky, if you work very hard in these classes, then one day, you will see the picture come out of the seed. Then on that day, you understand dependent origination. Okay? Then, very fast, things start to happen. [Speaker 2] Then next time you meditate, maybe half an hour later, and while you're in meditation, with your eyes closed, you will see kong shing. Okay? [Speaker 1] You go into kong shing. Then that's ultimate reality. Those of you attended level seven, DCR, you heard about all that. Then, you see kong shing directly. [Speaker 2] That's a higher reality. Okay? [Speaker 1] There are two levels of reality. Like, I think a lot about cappuccinos, I don't know why. Okay? I think a lot about ... Then my partner bought me a special coffee cup. [Speaker 2] It's clear. [Speaker 1] Then they make me cappuccino. Then you can see there's a darker on the top and a clear on the bottom. [Speaker 2] If it's not mixed, if it separates, you can see two different colors. [Speaker 1] This one already mixed up. Reality is like that. There are two parts of reality. [Speaker 2] This reality, and then there's a higher reality. [Speaker 1] The higher reality is only kong shing. There's nothing else there. [Speaker 2] It's the most important thing in the world, but difficult to see. [Speaker 1] When you see it directly, you cannot see anything normal thing. Not possible. You cannot see the room. You cannot hear the music. [Speaker 2] Okay? Just kong shing. [Speaker 1] So, now I ask you a question. This is what the Buddha asked Subuddhi. ram dzor di jik nyam du sem gyun du shikpa di nyam du dak gi gyun du shikpa de bu tobo nyam du sem tam Does a person does a person who just saw emptiness, who is seeing emptiness, do they think to themselves, I did it? [Speaker 2] Cannot. [Speaker 1] Why? I am not kong shing. Me is not kong shing. Allison is not kong shing. So, when Allison sees kong shing directly, it lasts about 20 minutes. First time, about 20 minutes. Then during that 20 minutes, Allison cannot see Allison. [Speaker 2] Cannot say, I did it. [Speaker 1] Okay? Understand? For 20 minutes. [Speaker 2] Then when you come out of that meditation, you're like ... [Speaker 1] you're still sitting like this, and you come out, and you're like ... [Speaker 2] Wow, I just did it! All those years sitting in Geshe Michael's class, torture. Now I did it. [Speaker 1] Now I can relax. I will be Buddha within seven lifetimes, nothing can stop me. Okay? [Speaker 2] So, after you come out, you can say, I reached it. But during the seeing, you cannot say, I reached it. [Speaker 1] So, here's the Buddhist question. Subhuti, if person sees emptiness directly, do they think to themselves, I saw it? What do you think? No, cannot. Then, Subhuti gives the answer. Ramjorgir Sulpa, Subhuti gave the answer. Chomten Te, oh Buddha. Denny Malakso, no, they don't say I reached it. Chi le du shena, why? Chomten Te, oh Buddha. Denny chi lang shupa ma chi ben le du te because they didn't see anything. That's why we say they saw emptiness. Okay, comfortable? No, shouldn't be comfortable. Buddha asked Subhuti, when someone sees emptiness directly, do they think to themselves, I saw emptiness directly? [Speaker 2] And Subhuti says, no, they don't. Why? Because you can't see anything. Nobody can see anything. That's why we say they saw emptiness. [Speaker 1] I told the DCI audience many times, when my lama told me, you go to work. You start a business. Make a lot of money. Prove to me you understand karma. Then I said, what's the business plan? Then he gave me Jingangjin. Diamond Cutter Sutra, you know? Then I open it. Oh, Buddha, people see emptiness because they can't see anything. I'm like, what kind of business plan is this? [Speaker 2] How can I use this? What do you think? During seeing emptiness, it's true, you cannot see other things. [Speaker 1] You can't see anything else. [Speaker 2] Listen. [Speaker 1] At that time, while you are seeing emptiness directly, if you see something else, like if Michael see Michael, that will kick Michael out of the meditation. [Speaker 2] Okay? [Speaker 1] If Michael think Michael during kongxing meditation, direct, direct, during direct perception, then I will drop out of it. [Speaker 2] Because I am not kongxing. Now, after come out, wow, I did it. [Speaker 1] Is it correct thought or not? No, it's not. That's the purpose of this part of the sutra. Now, for this you have to understand something new. When a person comes out of seeing emptiness directly, the minute they come out, immediately, again, it looks like everything coming this way. Even when I'm teaching the pen, you are thinking the pen and Geshe Michael coming this way. [Speaker 2] Okay? Understand? Even when I'm teaching the pen, when I'm going like this, you're thinking Geshe Michael and the pen and his hand coming this way. Okay? [Speaker 1] It's a feeling you have. [Speaker 2] He's out there. He's explaining the pen. [Speaker 1] He came to the Hilton on the airplane from America. [Speaker 2] Okay? That's your deep, deep, deep feeling. If Geshe Michael gives good explanation of the pen, nobody goes like this. Good job. [Speaker 1] Look at what a good Geshe Michael you made. Understand? Even during explaining the pen, you are misunderstanding the pen. [Speaker 2] And, even after you see kongshin directly, first time, when you come out, immediately you start making mistake again. [Speaker 1] That's the difference between Arya and Nirvana. So, if you want to use Buddhist words, Arya means someone who saw emptiness directly. Nirvana comes much later. Nirvana means nobody can make you angry. Husband can call you fan tong one million times, you're like, okay. [Speaker 2] Okay? Cannot make you angry. Okay? [Speaker 1] Nirvana is a long time after see kongshin directly. [Speaker 2] Then, one more minute, okay? Try to focus. Try to understand what I'm saying. [Speaker 1] When you come out of seeing kongshin directly, even though you know directly things are coming from you, it still feels like they are coming this way. [Speaker 2] Okay? It still feels that way. Okay? And you have to work more. Study more, learn more, meditate more, and then much later, you reach Nirvana. What's it feel like? [Speaker 1] If someone reach Nirvana, do they have a light coming out of their head? No. Okay? They look the same. [Speaker 2] They didn't reach Buddha's body. They just reached Nirvana. Nirvana means inside. No more anger. No more jealousy. And most importantly, it feels like things are coming from me. Okay? That's Nirvana. Much later. Arya just saw emptiness directly after many billions of years. When they come out, it still feels like things are coming this way. Then they have to work hard for years. [Speaker 1] Finally, they will feel like things are coming this way. Okay? Got it? So, I'll be the Buddha, you be Subuddhi. By the way, there's a tradition in West China that Subuddhi was a Buddha. Secret Buddha. He's asking all these questions just to help the other people in the class. They say he's Manjushri. [Speaker 2] Okay? Manjushri. [Speaker 1] Okay? So, you be Subuddhi. That means you are Manjushri. I'll be Buddha. [Speaker 2] So, can I ask you a question? [Speaker 1] Oh, thanks. You know, I was just thinking about people who see emptiness directly. When they see it, does anybody see anything? No. Good answer. [Speaker 2] Thank you, Subuddhi. [Speaker 1] Then I have to say, what's that mean? And you have to say, that's why they do see something. Okay, let's do it again. [Speaker 2] You're Subuddhi. I'm Buddha. [Speaker 1] I'm going to ask you, when a person sees emptiness directly, does anybody see anything? And you're going to say, no. Then I'm going to say, why? [Speaker 2] And you're going to say, because they do see something. [Speaker 1] Ready? If your friends ask you what you did in Thailand, don't tell them about this part. Ready? Okay, Subuddhi, I have a question. I was just thinking about people who see emptiness directly. When they see it, does anybody see anything? [Speaker 2] No. Why? [Speaker 1] Because they do. [Speaker 2] Because they do. [Speaker 1] Okay. Good? Alright. Thank you very much.
