[Speaker 1]
This meditation is about your body, your body. Your body has about 15,000 important parts. For example, the job of the lungs is to keep the body cool.

And the job of the heart is to keep the body warm. So, the basic function of those two organs, one is to keep the body not get too hot, and the other is tries to keep the body from getting too cold. And it's a very delicate balance, because if you go five or ten degrees either way, you have serious medical problem.

So, actually they are fighting each other. The lungs are fighting to make the body colder, and the heart is fighting to make the body warmer.

[Speaker 2]
So, in ancient medicine, Ayurveda medicine, since the day you were born, your body is fighting with itself.

[Speaker 1]
If the lungs get a little bit stronger, then the heart, you'll get pneumonia. And if the heart gets stronger than the lungs, you'll get fevers, and eventually that becomes what we call TEM, which is cancer. So, your own body, since the day you were born, you know, scientists will say, it's this wonderful balance, you know?

[Speaker 2]
It's actually a war, inside your body, all the time.

[Speaker 1]
And people never survive this war. In time, one will become stronger. One will become weaker.

[Speaker 2]
And in ancient medical theory, one of them will kill you, even if you don't get hit by a car or something.

[Speaker 1]
If you, you know, if nothing happens, if you don't catch any disease, or you never get killed by some accident, the body will kill itself, in time.

[Speaker 2]
You'll go to the cancer side, cancer side of things, or the pneumonia side of things, and your body will kill itself.

[Speaker 1]
So, one of the ... the meditation we're going to do today is to visualize the inside of your body. Your heart is beating.

[Speaker 2]
Your lungs are pumping, and they are fighting each other. So, in this meditation, we look inside our body, see the heart beating, and the lungs breathing, and imagine how they are fighting each other. And understand that one of them will win, and you have to die.

Then, as we said many times, the purpose of these meditations is not to be depressed. It's to understand that we don't have much time. So, there's no time to waste arguing with other people, fighting with other countries or fighting with your husband, wasting your time, especially on the internet.

You don't have much time. So, if you meditate about it, you will learn to view yourself, your body as precious, and very brief, and you will use it for good things, like Red Cross work or something.

[Speaker 1]
If you're not going to live very long, it's better to do something which helps other people.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Okay, so we're going to meditate. Please sit up straight. Close your eyes softly.

Turn off your cell phone. Relax the fingers of your hands. Relax your mouth.

Try to take the lines out of your forehead. Relax the forehead. Smile very slightly, like Mona Lisa.

Pull in your stomach slightly, and keep it there. Pull your shoulders back. Put out your chest, and then slowly come to your breath.

Start watching your breath. Try to count ten breaths without thinking about other things. Now please look inside your body.

[Speaker 2]
Imagine that you can see inside your body, and you can see your heart beating.

[Speaker 1]
Try to get in touch with that heartbeat. Now come to your lungs. Watch your lungs expand and shrink as you breathe.

Try to get in touch with the movement of your lungs inside your chest. Now we're going to start the actual meditation. We'll do five minutes.

Try to stay focused on the inside of your body. Watch the movement of the heart. Watch the movement of the lungs, and try to be aware of the war that's going on inside your body all day, since the day you were born.

[Speaker 2]
And at some time, one will get stronger than the other, and that will create a disease, and that will kill you.

[Speaker 1]
And try to think how short and precious our life is, and how we should use it for good things. Okay, we'll start five minutes. Please take three deep breaths.

As you exhale, imagine that you are giving the good karma of this meditation to other people. Okay, take a stretch.
