[Speaker 1] So, here's your first question on your third teacher training homework, okay? It says, what is the name of ACI Foundation course number 14? What are the main subjects, and how does it flow from 13? Why did Geshe-la teach 14 after 13? And be happy, we have only 11 minutes left. So, just relax, okay? By the way, I suggest tonight, don't forget, think about the big bad deeds you did in your life. We all did them when we were 16 or 17. I think so. This is the highest hormone and the lowest intelligence time. So, think about the big bad seeds you might ... you may have, and write them down on a paper tonight, and we will burn them in the fire tomorrow, okay? Finished. My teacher, when I finished my abortion seed, he made me sit down and he said, now you're not allowed to think about it anymore, okay? He said, it's finished. I don't want you to be guilty for the rest of your life. You do your four powers, clean it, get the backpack off, then don't don't think about it your whole life, okay? Just ... I mean, I didn't forget about it, but I don't worry about it anymore, okay? Past history, past history. Don't let the past history slow you down. Clean it, and move on. Don't be one of those people you're like 80 years old and you're like, oh ... when I was 16, yeah yeah. Okay? Clean it and get rid of it, don't think about it much. Okay, so tonight write down some. If you burn them in the last fire, you can burn them again, it's okay. Okay, all right, here we go. ACI Foundation Course 14 is called? Lojong. Lojong. Developing the good heart. Okay, and this is a kind of literature, it comes from a thousand years ago, and again that group's name was called Kadampa. They were some of the first Buddhist people in Tibet, and there are several modern groups who call them Kadampa, I'm not talking about that, okay? I'm talking about the thousand years ... the first Kadampas, a thousand years ago. Then they were very similar to the Guadalajara Sangha, Mexico Sangha. They were family people, they started small Dharma centers, so it wasn't one big group, it was many many small Dharma centers, and many of those family people, they had kids also, they were very very great masters, okay? And they wrote very beautiful literature. Usually it's poetry, usually it's very intense, and the main subject is a warm heart, good heart. One of the most famous lojong was, it's being translated by Seiji, and it's incredibly beautiful, okay? So, you should thank him. Okay, then how ... why did I teach that class, why is that number 14 after 13? There are two explanations, okay? Hector was there, Hector was there. You want to talk about one of those? So, when I wrote course 13 about logic, I lost half of my students. They dropped out, you know? From the foundation series, like half of them dropped out. Then I talked to my lama, you know? All I did was a little bit of logic, and half of them quit, you know? What should I do, you know? So, by the way, if you have a lama, on one way your life is very hard. You have to make millions of momos empanadas, but on the other way, anytime you have a problem, you can just ask them. So, it's nice to be close to a lama. So, I said you know, what should I do? He said I'll help you out, you know? There's this thing lojong, very very sweet. You teach one time, they're all going to cry. Then their heart will open, and they will come back. So, I'm like okay. So, that's one reason why 14 comes from 13. In Christian tradition, 13 is also bad luck number, right? Judas was the 13th disciple. The betrayer was the 13th disciple. So, I think it has chi che dak, right? So, anyway, that's one reason. The other reason is they say for enlightenment, they say, very famous, a bird cannot fly with one wing. A bird needs two wings, okay? It's very famous in Buddhism. So, traditionally the left hand wing is understanding emptiness, and on this wing you must have love for other people. We say that some physicists like Hawking, they actually coming close to emptiness. So, do they become Buddha? Okay, I'll tell you a story. When they made the first nuclear bomb, I believe they tested it in New Mexico, secretly, and there was a discussion about the scientists, you know, and they were from ... they were working at Princeton, okay? And they went to New Mexico, and they get all the equipment ready, and so some president's, Roosevelt's advisor came. Tell me again what's going to happen? Oh, we made a bomb can blow up a whole city. Yeah, okay, is there any problem? Well, we think there's a pretty good chance it may ignite all the oxygen in the world, and we're going to check it out. We're going to check it out. It'd be really interesting to see, you know, will our bomb light all the atmosphere of the world, which will kill every living thing in the world, also the people checking. And they're like, we're going to check it out, you know? That's just one wing I think. They are understanding pretty deeply, close to emptiness, like Heisenberg Uncertainty Theory is very close, but no love. Maybe we will burn up everyone in the world. We're going to check it out. So, if you don't want to tell your students that half of my students dropped out in 13, you can say, 12 and 13 they are very deep about emptiness. 14 is all love. Okay? What story you want to tell, it's okay. Last thing, and then we'll continue tomorrow. The Tibetan word for this, how to open your heart, is LO SBYONG. Then, literally, LO means mind, and SBYONG means training. So, many many people translated LO SBYONG as mental training, or mind training, or something like that. It has nothing to do with that, okay? The LO is CHITTA. Bodhichitta. Okay? It's not some kind of ... what do you call it? Mensa? IQ training. It's not that, okay? It's a completely ... I call it ... okay Nick, my new word for bad translation is under-translation. Okay? So, if you put ... if I ask you in question two, what does LO SBYONG mean? If you write mental training, I will twist your head off. Then you can't do any more mental development, okay? Okay? Alright. We've got Raul, you want ... you guys going to put up this ... this thing? [Speaker 2] Okay Raul, you have for it? Okay.
