[Speaker 1] Okay, good morning. Everywhere in the world where we go, we still do our weekly translator class. And I'll tell you a little bit about the book that Tim is working on. I think most of you know the story about Asanga and the dog. So, one famous Buddhist teacher, almost 2,000 years ago, he did a long retreat. His goal is to meet the future Buddha, Buddha number four in this world. That Buddha's name is Maitreya. And he spent 12 years trying to meet Maitreya and couldn't meet him. He was in retreat for 12 years. Then he got upset, he got discouraged, he quit. And he walked back to the town. Some people say he went to buy a beer, some people say he went to buy Taiwanese bubble tea. But anyway, on the way to town, he saw a dog that got hurt by a wagon. And it's a long story, but he tried to help the dog. And then it turns out the dog was really Maitreya. And Maitreya took him to Maitreya's heaven, where Maitreya is the Gyaltsab. Gyaltsab means he's the Buddha in waiting. And Maitreya basically taught him five famous books. And then Asanga came home, and I think like a hundred years had passed during the few days. So those, we call them jang chi deng na, very famous five books of Maitreya. In the Geshe course, Geshe course is 25 years. The first 12 years is spent on one book of Maitreya. And the commentary is, I think in English it would be about, I don't know, almost 10,000 pages. And Tim is translating that one. [Speaker 2] Okay, alright. [Speaker 1] So, and he has some ... Every translator at the beginning of class will give us a homework from the last class. Every translator at the beginning of class will give us a homework from the last class. Please go ahead. There we go. Sorry, my throat was stuck. So, where we are in the text, as Geshe-la had mentioned, is that we're trying to understand who Maitreya is. Who is he really? And so, in this debate, we're trying to decide, is Maitreya already totally enlightened, or is he merely a bodhisattva? In this debate, we're trying to decide, is Maitreya already totally enlightened, or is he merely a bodhisattva? In the last class, we started one of the debates. Someone's coming along and saying, Hey, Maitreya is already totally enlightened. And then he gives a reason why. What was that reason, if anyone remembers? Just loud. I'll repeat it real fast. Yes, Roxanna got it. Because the author of the higher line is the same author, and he was already enlightened, so he must be enlightened. You're about two debates ago, but that's correct, but for two debates ago. Do we have any of the translators online? When we meditate, everyone's making noise. When we ask the translator question, it's completely quiet. I'll say it in the ancient language and maybe you can translate it, Roxanna. Why is he already enlightened? Because he's the conqueror. Nice. Okay, nice. So someone just comes along and says, he's enlightened. Well, why is he enlightened? Because he's the conqueror. Okay, so then the opponent, the debater comes back with even more reasons, because that may not be sufficient. So, he gives two more reasons. And there's two ways we can prove things. What are those two ways, Roxanna, since you have the microphone still? With scripture and with proofs, logical proofs. And in this case, Mike, for 50% possibility that you're right, which one is it? Which method does the Kachik employ here to prove that he's the conqueror? [Speaker 2] Scripture and proof. [Speaker 1] Good job. Yay. Okay. All right. So, unfortunately, the reasons are really, he gives two reasons. And those reasons are quite specific. So instead of asking an entire room of people who weren't in the class, I'm just going to remind you of that so we'll get started with the class. In one scriptural reference, we learned that Maitreya conquered what was not yet conquered, which is one of the definitions of the Buddha. And then in another commentary, they say that Maitreya possessed eyes from which nothing was hidden from his sight. Which means he sees all things directly and not through logic. There's nothing hidden from the eyes of a Buddha. So from these two commentaries, this is what our debater is saying, this is the reason why he's a Buddha. And then our debater is not done yet, probably because he's sweating a little bit. He's like, I have to keep proving myself. And then it continues on. And so that's where we start in the text. Put this in for you. [Speaker 2] Here, right? [Speaker 1] Good. Can see? Okay, cool. Yes. Okay. We're going to start some ... By the way, you don't have to understand anything today. This is very advanced. We are not trying to understand. We are trying to plant new seeds. And those seeds will grow in five years or ten years. So just relax. Don't struggle. Understand what you understand. Open your mind. We will plant seeds in your mind. And suddenly in a year or two years, you go, wow, I understand. These books are not romance novels. You cannot understand them the first time you read it. But if you don't read it, you will never understand. So, just open your heart. We will plant many seeds. Then go have a nice lunch. And that's fine. That's how this class works. Okay, Tim, please read this first sentence. ... I should have slowed down. Okay, finished? Yes. Okay, good. ... The three knowledges. ... ... The knowledge of all things. It's basically emptiness seen by three different kinds of people. This school is lower middle way. ... They believe there is three degrees of emptiness. And these are the three states of mind which see those three versions of emptiness. So, those three states of knowledge. Is that from the Mother Sutras? Yeah. Okay. First you should have DEPA. We should have faith. Yeah. And that faith is called DANG BA. Say DANG BA. DANG BA DANG BA Okay, DANG BA means like clear water. ... And it's a synonym in the ancient books for faith. Is that related to the three types of faith? Say, yes? Is this related to the three types of faith? So, the first one is like ... Kind of. Okay. This DEPA kind of means, wow, that understanding emptiness sounds sexy. I would like to get it. I would like to get it. And that leads to a second state of mind. That leads to? Leads to. Second. Sorry. A desire to reach your own goals. Yeah, I want that. I want that. What? Basically, three knowledges of emptiness. First, you think they are beautiful. And then you get hungry for them. That's called DUN YER KYI BDUN PA. Then you want to DUR and SANG. You want to study and, well, listen and reflect on it. Yeah, you want to get some teaching on it, and then you want to go home and meditate on those things. Then this process is called LAM ... What's the process? It would be beautiful if I could reach that emptiness perception. I really want that. And I will practice what I need to practice to get it. Three steps. Here he calls it LAM RIM. These are the steps. Who's LAM RIM? Jetson. Maitreya's. [Speaker 2] Yeah. [Speaker 1] Sometimes Maitreya is called by nickname, which means super holy guy. And he already saw these three levels with his NYAM BZHAG. With his Alice meditation? Deep meditation. Super deep meditation. He experienced those three stages already. The implication is he's already a Buddha. Buddha. He must be already a Buddha. Our debater is quoting some book. Look, Maitreya went through all those levels. He didn't say Maitreya is a Buddha, but imply he's a Buddha. So, the debate here ... And it's a very, very famous debate in the first 12 years of the Geshe course. And when you get close to Geshe, 22 years, if they think you are good enough to try to take the Geshe exam, they will give you a pre-Geshe debate. If you pass it, you can take the Geshe exam. If you don't pass it, you have a direct perception of washing dishes in the monastery kitchen for the rest of your life. Then the debate master will give each candidate a tiny slip of paper and it has their debate assignment for the pre-Geshe exam. And this was mine. The subject is called JAM ZHUNG. The book of Maitreya. That's the paper I got to qualify to take the Geshe exam. So, there's a debate. Some people say Maitreya is future Buddha. Some people say, no, he's a Buddha, but he's waiting behind the curtain. He's already in a Buddha paradise. He just didn't come here yet. And in the Geshe course, 25 years, this is the single topic which is tantric. And it's a big honor to get that assignment. So, is this guy a Buddha or not already? Was your mom a Buddha already? Was your father a Buddha already? Is your brother a sister already? Is your dog already a Buddha? The secrets are in this debate. So, it's wonderful that we can study it together today. I'm going to ask Tim to read one more sentence. I'm going to ask Tim to read one more sentence. DOG PA ZHUGS LA PHAN PAR GSUNGS PA'I PHYIR ZER NA Good. Okay, good. This manuscript, we don't have a good copy. It's thousands of pages. The copy that I used in the monastery was handwritten by a monk who memorized it. We found one copy in St. Petersburg library. And we tried really hard to get a copy. And Vika Makarova did a lot of good work. Where are you? She's there. And because of her work, we got a real copy. It took John Brady and me, it took us 37 years to get this copy. Now we have it. Thank you, Vika. So, when you see the question marks, it means the copy was corrupt before. And we are fixing it. Okay, so basically this says faith in enlightenment and then aspiration to get that enlightenment and then get it. BYAS GSUNGS KYI THUG RGYUD LA BRTZONG These three steps have already been born. BRTZONG means born in the heart of Maitreya. So, the implication is he's already a Buddha because he's been through those three steps. SDOG PA, the word SDOG PA is here, L-D-O-G at the end of the line. It's a very difficult logic idea. When you see the pot on the stove, you see it by cancelling everything which is not the pot on the stove. And that's the difference between PHYI and PHYED RAB. There's the ideal picture of the pot on the stove in your mind. And then there's the real pot on the stove. The picture of the pot on the stove is the opposite of everything in the universe which is not the pot on the stove. And this sentence says, this dude named Maitreya, he already reached everything which is the opposite of not enlightened. Therefore, he must be Buddha already. Now, question for you. In the Borobudur Sutra, is this correct statement or wrong statement? Yeah, correct. No. Correct, not correct. Why? Yeah, it's not Tantra. It's an open teaching. In the open teaching, he didn't reach Buddhahood yet. So, we are debating this guy. No, he didn't reach the end of the path. His name is Future Buddha. Maitreya is Future Buddha. Cool? [Speaker 2] Alright. [Speaker 1] By the way, it's very important. Was your mom a Buddha? When she gave you birth or when she was feeding you and you were a kid, was she a Buddha? When she gave you birth or when you were a kid, was she a Buddha? How do you decide if she was a Buddha if you are not a Buddha? If you are not a Buddha. Yeah. That's the meaning of this debate. Now Tim gets to choose the next reader. Now Tim gets to choose the next reader. Rob, can you pass that to Lindsay? I lost it. The words are gone. Okay, Mayan Batal. Okay, come on. Then you have to look disgusted. So, Geng got it right. I think he does it with his wife. Shintian. Shintian. Okay. Gen Tsongpapo. The author of the Jewel of Realization? Yeah, the author of this book. Which is called the Jewel of Liberation or something. I don't get it. Jewel. Jewel of Realization. Jewel of Realization. Yeah. In Phanwan Abhisamaya Alankara. Okay. That author is Jetsun. Lord Maitreya. Yeah, it means Lord, but it doesn't necessarily mean Buddha. It means he's born? Lord. Oh, Lord. But not necessarily Buddha. Jetsun Randhawa. Jetsun Randhawa. But this Lord doesn't necessarily mean Buddha. Then we say to that guy, CHUNG LDAN DE MAYAN BATAL Are you really saying that he's the conqueror? Are you saying he's not the conqueror? This is a declarative statement. He's not the conqueror? Yeah, he is not a Buddha. not a Buddha yet. Duh, he's future Buddha. MA YIN PA DA Because he's Chanchusenpa. Because he's a bodhisattva. Now, is it true that if you are a Buddha, you cannot be a bodhisattva? No. No, every Buddha is a bodhisattva. But here, we said, he's not a Buddha, he's a bodhisattva. It means he's a bodhisattva who is not yet enlightened. Okay? There's two kinds of bodhisattvas. Buddha is a bodhisattva who already became enlightened. Geshe Michael is a bodhisattva who is not enlightened. Understand? But in this case, no, he's not a Buddha yet, because he's still a baby bodhisattva. Then the debater says, I don't know if that's true. Where's Tin? Tin. Tin. Tin is way over there. Does someone want to run a microphone over to him? [Speaker 2] Or do you want to run ... [Speaker 1] how about you run over here? Yeah. Run, run. Can we get someone in the room with microphones to run them, please? Tin. Okay. We need a microphone for him. Okay. Sit next to Nancy. If he makes a mistake, Nancy, just tell him. DER THAL. DER THAL. DO LAS SKYE BA GCIG GIS THOG PA'I BYANG CHUB SEMS PA BYAMS PA NGUN THUG RGYUD PA DER LA DRIS ZHIG DANG, DER GYI LEN DONG PA RGYUR RO, ZHES GSUNGS PA'I PHYIR THANG So, when you say in Chinese, Boroboromido, it has many many meanings. One meaning is all the teachings which Buddha gave on the Perfection of Wisdom, and those books are normally named by how many lines they have. There's a hundred thousand lines, called BUM. Twenty thousand lines, called GNYIS PHYI. Eighteen thousand lines, called DONG PHYI. There's also a very famous eight thousand lines, which is ASHTAD SAHA SRID GYUR. The eight thousand lines. Now, for a hundred dollars, there's a special medicine wake everybody up. It's called hundred dollars. Okay, here we go. There is a seventy verses. Okay, there's a hundred thousand. Twenty five thousand. Twenty thousand. Eighteen thousand. Eight thousand. John Brady finished all of them, God bless you. But there's a seventy verses. What's the other name of that one? The Diamond Cutter Sutra. Yeah, the short name of the Diamond Cutter Sutra. So, here he's quoting ... this happens to be the eighteen thousand. When you see the bold letters under the not bold letters, it means there's a quotation in the translation and we went to John Brady's database and we searched a hundred thousand pages and we found it. I used to search the physical book for these quotations. Sometimes I will spend two weeks to find one quotation. This quotation we found in three seconds. In a hundred thousand pages. Okay, Tim, who's going to translate? I'm trying. Okay, DO. In a sutra. Yeah, DO means sutra. They didn't tell you which sutra, but I can tell you. We used John's database. [Speaker 2] It's right. [Speaker 1] It's right. This THOG PA, Tim, is a very difficult word here. In the first line. THOG usually means to hit something. And if your wisdom is so powerful, nothing can THOG it. I call it hot knife to your body. We can call you THOG MED. Which means, in Sanskrit, Asanga. Asanga. Asanga. Asanga. Nobody can stop his wisdom. Usually THOG PA means stop. But in this case, it's a special idiom. And I'll test Sugeng. Here, here it means, if I'm Maitreya, and my computer is enlightenment. This is enlightenment. I'm Maitreya. And we are THOG PA by one birth only. What's it mean? It's not realization. No. Here it means, there's only one birth between between me and enlightenment. One more life. The sutra refers to Maitreya as SKYE BA GCIG THOG PA. One life. One life to go. One life to go. It means he's not a Buddha. But he must be a Bodhisattva. If he only has 50 years, 70 years to go. So, who said that? That 18,000 line Prajnaparamita, who spoke that? Lord Buddha. Which turning of the wheel? Second. Second. Same as Xing Jing, same as Jing Kang Jing. So, our debater, come on, you know, Maitreya is not a Buddha yet. Why you say that? He's called a one to go. It doesn't mean he ordered a hamburger to go. It doesn't mean what? He ordered a hamburger to go. Buddha referred to Maitreya in the Perfection of Wisdom as a guy who has one more to go. The context of the quotation, somebody asked Buddha a question about emptiness. And he said, BYAMS PA LA'I PHYIS ZHIG BYAMS PA LA'I PHYIS The answer he gave was? He said, BYAMS PA LA'I PHYIS The person asked Buddha a question about emptiness. Buddha said, BYAMS PA LA'I PHYIS PHYIS means question. What? You go ask, go ask Maitreya. Don't ask me. He's okay, he's pretty good. He's got one lifetime to go. Probably he can answer an emptiness question. Got it? And GZHAN BAR L-D-O-N miscarved in the carving. It means he will return with an answer. So, here's the quotation. Hey dude, don't ask me about it. You got Maitreya. He's one birth away from enlightenment. Ask him about emptiness. Probably he knows something. And that statement by Lord Buddha proves that Maitreya is not yet a Buddha. If Shakyamuni Buddha referred to Maitreya as one more life to go, probably Maitreya is not a Buddha yet. Okay, we go to the next question. Are we doing ... We got about 12 more minutes. You tech guys might want to fix your clock. I see this. Okay, alright. Say again? The total time is 11. Yeah, I understand. At 11 o'clock, Mixed Nuts Translator Group tradition. Grandpa will go sit down with Jasmine and Tim. And then Tim will lead a discussion for 15 minutes. Is there anything we talked about this morning that you can use in your real life? Then our big group around the world called Worldview Group. Loosely associated 41 groups. They all started with grandpa 100 years ago. I felt like each group doesn't know what the other group is doing. So, like five years ago, I asked my friend Juan Hasso. Can you do a weekly news show? And you talk about what the different groups are doing so we all know what we're doing. I hope the Ukrainskies will send us some news more regularly. So, at 11 o'clock, Tim will lead a 15-minute discussion. How can you use this book in your real life? And then Hasso will come with the news for 15 minutes. Then the restaurant will come with lunch. Okay, here we go. BYAMS PA SNGON DU GYUR PA means SNGON DU GYUR PA means the dude is sitting here. Talk to him. But that's a ... we call loaded word. It's also part of the name of his most famous book. Abhisamaya Avalokiteshvara. The Buddha in this sentence says, Look, Maitreya is Abhi. He's sitting here. You can talk to him. But it's a Buddha pun. Because this Abhi later is going to write the Abhisamaya Avalokiteshvara. Understand? Okay, here we go. Who's going to read, Tim? Let's just give it to Gibson. NAM SHES SNYING PO RGYEN LAS KYANG, ZHA JI'I DBANG PHYIR GYIS BYANG CHUD SEMS PA, PHYIR LTUNG PA LA, PHYIR DBANG MI'I BRAL BA, LAS LAS BRDZES PA'I PHYIR LEN GZHAN, RNAMS DI CHEN GZHI BRAL BA, MED PA'I PHYIR RO, ZHES GSUNGS PA'I PHYIR, KHOR GSUNGS NAM SHES SNYING PO RGYEN is a famous commentary. Just a comment, and he's going to quote that commentary. By the way, he wrote it when I think he wrote it when he was 26. In English it will be 6,000 pages. Translated into English, this commentary will be 6,000 pages. If you want a thousand dollars, tell me the first work that Tsongkapa ever wrote which was published. Which was published? By us or by him? By ... no, in his time. In his era it was published. If you want a thousand dollars, tell me the first book that Tsongkapa ever wrote which was published. Basically, what's the first book he ever wrote? He didn't say you're not supposed to know. I'm going home with less money than when I came here. I'm going home with less money than when I came here. Is it the letter to Tsavo Wunpo? To who? The letter to ... The letter to the friar, Prince Tsavo Wunpo. [Speaker 2] Oh, no. [Speaker 1] Good guess, but no. Gibson, don't take my money. It's not ... Gibson, don't take my money. Sit down. It's not respectful. Go ahead, Gibson. Rob, Gibson. Rob, Rob, Rob. Gibson. Gibson. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Half? He said, give me half. Is it Abhidharmakosha? No. Abhidharmakosha, no. OK, last try, last try. Do you know the answer? Do you know the answer? No. Praise on dependence. No, cancel everybody. He wrote a love poem to Sarasvati. Oh, yeah. It's a very beautiful love poem to the goddess of music and poetry. I think he was 16. And it's extraordinary. And you almost feel like they had a relationship. Maybe he saw her as a Buddha. I don't know. [Speaker 2] OK. [Speaker 1] I'm so happy no one could guess. What's this thing? You want to try? It's already been read. Did you read it already? Yeah, we read it already. Did we read it already? Satchu Wangchuk. Satchuy Wangchuk. [Speaker 2] The lord of the ten bodhisattva levels? [Speaker 1] Yeah, lord of the tenth bodhisattva level. Now, some people say tenth level bodhisattva is the same as a Buddha. Some people say you have to reach ten and a half and then you're a Buddha. I think probably here it means a Buddha. And they're referring to Maitreya as a tenth level bodhisattva, which means a Buddha. And it says people came to that bodhisattva and asked him questions. But we just said he's a Buddha. How's that possible? How's that possible? Every Buddha is also a bodhisattva. But not every bodhisattva is a Buddha. If the bodhisattva reached the tenth level, generally you can say Buddha. I'll give you an interesting question. The day you see emptiness directly, and you have a bodhisattva's experience, which of the ten bodhisattva levels are you? You're level one. So that high, high goal to see emptiness directly is a baby bodhisattva. And still have five hundred years to go to reach the tenth level. And that's what those four red books are really about. How to go from one to ten. And each book gets more and more mysterious. I mean you get up around ... my Geshe debate was level seven. And it's already ... you can't imagine anything. You can debate it, but you don't understand anything. Okay, so anyway, they refer to him as a tenth level bodhisattva. Seems like they are talking about a Buddha. But actually not necessarily. Okay, do you think we have time? Yeah, we have fifty seconds. We didn't finish the last two lines. That's all I want to do. RGYAL BA MA YIN It's not contradictory. It's not contradictory to call him a bodhisattva who has not reached Buddhahood, and also call him a Buddha. It's not contradictory to call Maitreya a bodhisattva who is not a Buddha, and also call him a tenth level bodhisattva, which is a Buddha. It's not contradictory. For a hundred dollars, Tim, How could it be not contradictory? Which is what this next sentence says. RGYAL BA'I KHYEN MED To call Maitreya a bodhisattva who is not a Buddha, and also call him a Buddha who is a bodhisattva. Why is it not contradictory? This sentence says it's not contradictory. To call him a bodhisattva and a Buddha. I'm sorry. To call him a bodhisattva who is not a Buddha, and to call him a bodhisattva who is a Buddha, is not a contradiction. It depends on which system you're coming from, or from which point of view. So, there's a debate. So, he says, you know, Mr. Tim, is Maitreya Buddha or Bodhisattva? And is it contradictory for one person to say he's a Bodhisattva and the other one say he's a Buddha? And Tim's answer, no contradiction, depends on what system you're in. If you're in the secret system, your mother was certainly a Buddha. And if you're not in the secret system, maybe she's just a very nice lady. No contradiction. So, if someone asks you on the airplane, was your mother a Buddha? You have to say, well, which system? Which system are you guys? You're a secret tantra. You believe your mother was a Buddha. Once you get a transmission, you have to believe your mother was a Buddha. Okay, Tim's going to answer questions. [Speaker 2] I think there's lots of directions we could go. [Speaker 1] But I think it'd be nice if you have any questions about today. And thinking about maybe all the teachings we received this week. [Speaker 2] How can it help us? [Speaker 1] Wow, total silence. I have a question. [Speaker 2] I guess my thought was, what's the big deal? Whether Maitreya is a Buddha or not. [Speaker 1] Because if he's a Bodhisattva, who's about to become a Buddha, that's already pretty amazing for me. [Speaker 2] And I don't really have a problem with that time period, I guess. So, it's not that I struggle, but I wonder, is that something I should maybe figure out sooner? Because if 400 years or 500 years is not that long, then what's the problem? [Speaker 1] I think from that perspective, sure. I mean, this is the one hustle question. If he only had one lifetime left, when the Buddha said that, I mean, unless he's been living for 2,500 years, then he would be already a Buddha. But I think there's a different way to look at it. Like the struggle to understand whether he's a Bodhisattva or a Buddha, which we've been doing for six months now. Personally, if I think about the way that I look at the world, like is Rob just Rob? A great Bodhisattva, who might have one lifetime left. Or is Rob already a Buddha pretending to be Rob, looking like Rob to help me? And I'll throw the question back to you, like sort of how the Buddha was like, go talk to him. So I'm going to throw the question back to him, and ask Rob the question. When I think like that, how can this kind of view help me? The seeds you're collecting, it would certainly change driving the car differently. [Speaker 2] That's for sure. I love following Rob in his brand new BMW X5. [Speaker 1] I love driving behind Rob's new BMW X5. M-Power. Excuse me, his M-Power X5. Because not only am I following a really good car, but anything that I would be doing, like planting seeds with Rob, like serving him or offering anything to him, the power of the seed increases based on a correct conception of that person. Now is Rob really a Buddha? That's my big question. Wait, I mean I'd be okay with that. I would not have a problem with that at all. I'm not keeping it from you for sure. Can I decide definitively that he is a Buddha or he is not a Buddha? Do you want to come up, Sugen? Come on up. I was pretty intrigued by Rob's question about what's the big deal about being a Bodhisattva or Buddha. And coming at this point, coming at this point, preparing people for the October transmission, I think Lord Buddha is giving us a hint. Hey, all of you are learning the open teaching. Do you know that Maitreya has two, we can see Maitreya from two different angles. All of you thought that Maitreya is a Bodhisattva. But looking at it from the secret teaching perspective, he is a Buddha. If you are interested in getting enlightened in one lifetime like Maitreya, next life, come and join us. Something like that. So why did I put the pen in my mouth? Yeah, so I think Lord Buddha is telling us, Hey, all of you should be ready to embark on that journey if you have the right seeds. You didn't answer my question. In class yesterday, we discussed the bathroom stall meditation. You guys remember that one? And I'm like super skeptical of it. But I tried anyway. [Speaker 2] So I thought, there will be a day I'll be a Buddha for sure. And at that moment, I will be seeing this directly. So even the conversation I'm having now, as a Buddha, I'll see this moment directly. So in a way, I'm having a conversation with me now, my future. [Speaker 1] And then I think it goes back to what Geshe-la said, that the Buddha is having a direct, they see this directly, us sitting here currently, where they were in the past. So when you see, when the Buddha said, Oh, it's one life, so Maitreya, it's not like he didn't know what was going to happen. [Speaker 2] So he's completely aware of our conversation right now as well. [Speaker 1] So in a way, I don't think of it so much as he's 2,500 years ago, but like here right now. Any other questions here? Or discussion points? You can come up. [Speaker 2] We have two minutes. Oh, two minutes. Okay, sit in there. [Speaker 1] Hello everyone. I think about the ideal of, ideal image of a pot, and actual pot. And it looks like easy, that we find a real pot, because it's opposite side of anything what is not pot. And I think about Buddha, or Bodhisattva, or my mother is Buddha or not, because how can we find Buddha? It's anyone who opposite from not Buddha. And it looks like also easy, but actually we don't know who is not Buddha. And because of that, we can't know he's Buddha or not. Okay. I think the ideas that we're cooking right now, it's worth to continue to cook. Like struggling with it, like which one is it? Which one's appearing to me now? What could appear to me? Am I misunderstanding what's appearing to me? No. I think taking the time and meditation, and just walking around right now, to cook all of that is the power of the practice. Thank you Geshe-la for teaching us. Please stay. Please stay with us for a long time. Now we're going to welcome Taoist News. Guapa. Guapo. Guapo. [Speaker 2] Which one? I only have one. Welcome Emily. [Speaker 1] Thank you for translating. Thank you Rob for checking that I don't say crazy things. They have to put a police next to me. But he's a really good police. Rob has helped me many times with this project. As well as Tim has. [Speaker 2] I don't know where he went. [Speaker 1] Thank you Tim, because yesterday I realized how much you have helped me. There were times like I didn't know anything about tech table. I didn't have any equipment. I didn't know how to connect the cables. Didn't? And I'll be. Did you say didn't? I did not? [Speaker 2] Now I know. I've been learning. [Speaker 1] So I called Tim like, I have a program. When is the program? Like at noon. What day? Today. I don't have anybody to help me. And he'll be like, I'll be there in an hour. So thank you. Thank you for all your help. Really everyone who has to support this program. I'm about to explain quickly what is this about, because maybe people are wondering like, what am I doing here? So Brian was doing a very evil thing. [Speaker 2] He wanted to fire Pichuquino. This is my helper. And Rob's going to help me with it. [Speaker 1] Brian gave me this thing. More AI in our lives. I like people. But I guess AI is good too. So maybe I tell you, you help me. I tell you. This is just an emergency. All right, let's go. And thank you Geshe Laviko. At the end of the day, your kindness always has the day. [Speaker 2] So thank you. [Speaker 1] Okay, every Monday, every Saturday, we get together in Rimrock. And we have, first picture please. Xuanzang Tower. This is what we are doing today. You can just repeat what I say. Or not. You can just repeat what I say. Xuanzang Tower. All right. You can come. You can learn this wonderful wisdom. And every day, after the class, after the discussion, we talk about the WorldView Network. So basically, our job in Petrie World News is to talk about all the wonderful things you are doing. Geshe Michael was very wise. He said, this guy is always thinking about himself. Let's give him a job. Let's put him to speak about other people's projects. And let me tell you super fun. So if you have cool projects, let me know. Even if you don't think they are cool, let me know. Okay. Every Monday, every Saturday we do this. Next picture please. Pichiquino. Yes. Good Night Book Club is the machine who supports this project. So if you want to support this project, if you want to see emptiness directly, you get, how do you say it Rob? Two, you pay one, you get two. Hello? Hold on, hold on. [Speaker 2] We have breaking news. We have breaking news also. I'm nervous. There was an auction for this. These are all personally signed by Geshe Michael. [Speaker 1] The money goes to support all of the translators. [Speaker 2] So Tim can buy hairspray. The Ukrainians love Tim. Do you love Tim? So actually somebody actually paid $12,000 for this. [Speaker 1] $12,000 for these books. And that will actually go straight to the insurance. I don't know if she wants to come up. She does, okay. Can the woman who got the books, Lindsay, why don't you come up and present it very quickly. Can Li Van Yu come up to the stage? Can Li Van Yu come up to the stage? Li Van Yu. [Speaker 2] I present it to you. It's heavy, let someone else. [Speaker 1] Can a volunteer come here? [Speaker 2] Thank you very much for helping the translator program. [Speaker 1] Thank you teacher for giving me the opportunity to serve. [Speaker 2] And these were all signed by Geshe Michael for you. That's a lot of good night book club nights. You should be busy for a while. [Speaker 1] Thank you. He will push me to learn English. I want to show you real quick, Brian, if you can help me to the PPT, the snow in the mountain, please. Check it out. This is our friend, Joel from ALL. He pretty much worked in this presentation in Japan. So you can call it either way, I was lazy or I was smart. I just say, come share with us. So I want to show you the snow in the mountain system, what we do with these books, and how the world view network, all the organizations that share the world view that Geshe-la was talking about, how they operate in the world. And Rob is here to correct me. He is one of the managers of the world view network. Because you help Geshe-la a lot, you need to know how everything works. So that's why I say unofficially you're one of the managers. So I hope you are kind to me later when I ask for a favor. All right, let's go, Brian. $100. Thank you so much. Let's go to the mountain, please. Straight to the mountain. Yes, okay. So wisdom is like snow in this example. Wisdom falls from heaven like snow falls from sky. [Speaker 2] In Spanish, sky and heaven are the same word. [Speaker 1] Maybe there is a relationship. All right, everything starts with A-L-L. Then it flows down to D-C-C, when it translates the programs. From there, many organizations start using the system and the wisdom to teach and train teachers. Then international programs happen. Perfect, I have it here. Wonderful. You're welcome. Thank you. Yes, the next one. What? Brian wants me to do it. All right. Students, international events happen all over. And then there are other organizations who operate in the world in disguise kind of thing. The idea of the snow is to flow down from the top of the mountain and make this a beautiful, perfect world. We are all there in this beautiful path. So five houses today is one of these many organizations. And like this, there are many, many, many more. 41 or something, 42? All right, so I want to talk about some of them, upcoming events. No. Or yes. [Speaker 2] No. Brian! Hasso, there's a question actually here. [Speaker 1] From the five houses audience member. [Speaker 2] They would like to know, are you single? And if so, how can I get your phone number? So, the first time people ask is, listen, it's a debate. Yes? No? [Speaker 1] Or no? No, no, no, no, no baby here. I'm going to say he's definitely single, but let's see. No, I learned after many times that you said this stuff for me. The answer, really, really, to be honest is, depends who's asking. All right, well, you wanted to know. Let's go, Brian. Play the Vienna video. Welcome to the 10th anniversary celebration of Diamond Cutter Classics. No, no, no. The Vienna video. Thank you for this big family and this beautiful place for all years of work. [Speaker 2] Hello, my name is Sean Brady. My wife and I, Connie O'Brien, will be coming to Vienna July 17th, 1889 for a wonderful conversation and teaching conversation. [Speaker 1] Of course, me and Connie and Maria will be teaching the last few lessons of Diamond Cutter. In the morning, there will be teachings as you are going to spot. We will have auction and we can meet each other and talk about Diamond Cutter. It's going to be a very special teaching session. So, welcome to Vienna July 17th, 1889. Thank you. Thank you. [Speaker 2] All right, we're over time. Hold on. [Speaker 1] Hold on. If you want to find out if Hasso is single, follow Peacetree World News. [Speaker 2] Thanks a lot.
