[Говорящий 3]
Good morning, Ben. Good morning. How are you?

Doing pretty well, how about yourself? Good evening and good afternoon. And gals and other friends.

[Говорящий 1]
Oh, friends. Well, we've got a professor, Reverend Stanley G.

[Говорящий 3]
Esquire.

[Говорящий 1]
I believe they're going to be coming to us live from an event at the Glorifying Group Center.

[Говорящий 3]
I see them from very far away. You can see Dr. Keshe, Michael, and Dr. Stanley. Itty bitty at a blue desk.

[Говорящий 1]
Your tech. Innovation retreat.

[Говорящий 3]
That seems right.

[Говорящий 1]
Wow. Are we on mute? Sounds good.

We hear you. Okay, we're good, Keshe. I see me.

Do you have any wisdom for us? Just please share your wisdom with us. It's my wisdom to ask that of you.

How's your new place? Is it working out? Well, so far so good.

We're still looking for the longer term, but where we are for now is doing great. I'll give you some updates later, but everything's good. Can you guys hear us clearly or it's not good?

We can hear you, and it's unclearly. Oh, Upala said no.

[Говорящий 3]
I cannot hear very well at all. I can hear you really well. I can hear Ben really well, but barely Stanley or Keshe, Michael.

[Говорящий 1]
They said it's clear but soft, Brian. Yeah, soft. It could be louder.

The sound is too low. Manjushri. Yeah.

Hello, hello, hello. Oh, much better already. Much better?

Okay. You look handsome, Kramer. You ready for Japan?

[Говорящий 3]
I am. Thank you so much for the invitation. We're delighted.

[Говорящий 1]
Yeah, it'll be nice to have... I think it's good for Ezra to see that.

[Говорящий 3]
I do too. He's excited.

[Говорящий 1]
My grandkids came with me and they really enjoyed it. Yeah. Okay, let's go, you dudes.

Stanley's going to read this first paragraph. But you want to talk about your book? What's your book?

Two minute introduction? So this book is... So one of the most famous topic in the ancient wisdom is Abhidharma, the treasure house of higher knowledge.

And the famous one is actually by Master Vasubandhu, 1,700 years ago. But we find out from the Dunhuang cave that there's a special version of the Abhidharma who's not by Vasubandhu, but by his older brother, Arya Asanga. So that's what we are studying now.

It's a mind-only version of Abhidharma. Okay, so I'll leave it to Geshe Michael. Okay, cool.

All right, good. By the way, Abhidharma is a mind-only version of Abhidharma. Okay, I will repeat.

There's two Abhidharma. We call lower and higher Abhidharma. Then the most famous book of the lower Abhidharma is Abhidharma Kosha.

Treasure house of Abhidharma. It's very long. And Stanley and I, we worked on it for about eight years so far.

The first chapter of that famous book is the most important one. And Stanley finished translating it. And it's about three, four hundred page book.

And that one will be published in December. It will be available in December. So, we will be doing programs in Kyoto, Japan.

Ninety minute flight from Shanghai. And we will release Stanley's book. There's another sister school of that school called Vinaya in Vaibhashika.

And that's the book that Xiaoping has been working on. For eight years. And parts of that book were missing for two thousand years.

And we found it and we translated it. So, that book is also finished. So, those two books will be published together.

You can get it in Kyoto. In December. Xiaoping has designed a beautiful box and told Rosa all about it.

Who's... Okay, well, you got to tell her because she doesn't know. Okay, okay.

So, anyway. Then we moved on, Stanley moved on to a higher Abhidharma. Which has a big mind-only influence.

Maybe the most important basic topic of Abhidharma is called pung kam kye che sum. Say pung. pung kam kye che sum pung kam kye che sum pung kam kye che sum And these are three ways of dividing the universe.

pung means divide the universe into five parts. kam means divide it into eighteen parts. kye che means divide it into twelve parts.

And in that way, Abhidharma is very similar to modern science. So, the world view of this world now is science. And in all the ancient schools, Abhidharma is closest to science.

So, today's topic, we're going to talk about the first one, pung. Divide the universe into five parts. And there's a special idea about those five parts that you took them on.

You took them. And it's called, say, nyer len. Nyer len.

Nyer len means take it on. And the older brother, Asanga, today he's going to explain what does it mean to say you took on these five parts. It's very beautiful and it's very deep.

So, we're going to start with the last paragraph of the last topic. And then we'll go to taking on those five parts. And Stanley's going to read.

You're going to use this one? Yeah, I'm just going to watch this. Hang on, stop.

That's alright. I can't see it. Accessibility.

And it's up here. Display? Yeah.

And it's down here. Here, I think. Good?

Big enough? Yeah, good. Okay, good.

Okay, go ahead. Let's start again. Okay.

DE NAS MI KHYI MI KHYI DBANG PO LTA BU Oops. I don't know where it's going. I missed it.

Yeah. Okay. LTA BU DE PA THAM DA THAG GIS MI KHYAS NAS GYIS DGOS NAS ZIN PA'I CHA NAS GANG ZUD ZHAG LA ZHAG LA ZHAG LA MI KHYAS MA' BUNG PA SKYE BA'I SKYE BA'I Oh yeah.

PA SKYE BA'I DGOS BYED PA'I CHA NAS KHYAD DU ZHAG DGOS Good, okay. So, when we divide the universe into eighteen parts, or we divide it into twelve parts, those eighteen have a strange name, and those twelve have a strange name. Eighteen means ...

GANG means category, but it also means the territory of the country or something. And KHYAD CHE means the door through which something starts. So he says, in the second line, he says GANG ZUD ZHAG.

Why do we call category? And then, at the end of the sentence, KHYAD CHE DU ZHAG. Yeah, why do we call door of sense?

And these are very, very important for ... This school was the ... Abhidharma was the main school for 700 years until Nagarjuna came.

This was the main school of all ... the whole Asia. So, anyway, MI GYI DBANG PO What's that mean?

DBANG PO What is sense power? Yeah, sense power. LTA BU means something like that.

Could be DBAD PA or could be THA LTAR. Means ... DBAD PA means past, in the past.

So, the eye that you use to see blue, the eye that you see red, Yeah, and by the way, thank you to Diamond Mountain for the beautiful ... They did hard work, very hard work, and they remodeled this whole place for you guys. We are very proud to say that we built this temple with our own hands.

But when you build something with your own hands, usually it leaks afterwards. So, they fixed it for you guys. DE SPA means your past, you see the blue, I see the blue in the past.

DE SPA means when you see the blue, you see the blue in the past. And then also THA LTAR, presently you are seeing it. Then RDZIN PA'I CHA NAS, it holds those things.

That's called Kham. Category refers to the function of the eye consciousness in the past and in the present. Then when we say door of sense, we are talking about seeing something in the future.

And that's the meaning of door. The sense power, the perception of blue will grow through the eye. If you're talking about perception which has grown already, we talk about eighteen categories.

When you're talking about the perception which will grow in the future, you talk about a door of perception. Then the perception will come out of the door. So, these are the three grand divisions of all reality.

We were struggling to find a nice modern name for Stanley's first book. And I'm really happy with the name that we found. His first book, which comes out in December, is Everything in the Universe.

Then it's a very beautiful name. And it's a very accurate name. What's the name of your book, Shampi?

I think it's Sunlight or something? No, Jewels. Rinchen Therma.

Alright, Stanley, read one more please. Okay, of all the things in the universe, some are impure and some are pure. Like, this human body is impure.

It will fall apart. I'm at that age. It's very interesting.

I didn't have a doctor for thirty years. Now I go to the doctor like two, three times a week. Because the body will fall apart.

It's a domino. One thing very ... In Abhidharma, we call it impure.

sak che Then, tumo mayinpa means special. And there's two kinds of special impure things. First, there are the five parts of a person.

Then secondly, together, is the twelve and the eighteen. So, now we're going to talk about the five parts. By the way, it's very important in Shijing.

Yes, this part is very important in the Heart Sutra. se bu yi kong kong gyi se se ji se kong kong gyi se se so shing shi yi fu ru shik So, those are the five. So, we're going to talk about those five.

In the style of chi len, say chi len. chi means question. len means answer.

We don't study this higher Abhidharma normally in the Geshe course. So, for me, I'm also learning something new. So far, it looks like the whole book is question and answer.

And by the way, Rindawa wrote a commentary on this. If you translate into English, it will be almost 4,000 pages. And his student memorized it while he was teaching it.

The 4,000 pages. Who was that? Tsongkapa.

So, we're making a new book by Tsongkapa's teacher. If we're lucky, we'll finish it today. It took 40 years.

We started 40 years ago. And we did a lot of work to tell the story of the author. So, we checked John Brady's database.

Inside there, there are 700 stories about those two guys. And we checked all of them. And we studied all of them.

And we put maybe four or five in the book. The best ones. You want to know the best one?

There's a famous mantra. MIG MED ZAS BA'I BDE'I RGYUN GZHAN RE ZHIG PHYI MED KHYAD PA'I DBANG PO BRJAMS PA YANG SDUG BSNGAL MA LUS SBYOMS TE SANGS BA'I DA'O THANG CIG THEG PA'I GZUGS RGYEN TSONG KHA BA'ANG BLO SANGS DRAG PA'I GZHAG LA GSUNGS DANG There's a very famous mantra. This is the famous mantra of Tsongkapa.

And we found a beautiful story that it was written by... Tsongkapa. Tsongkapa write his own mantra in praise of Tsongkapa?

That seems very strange. Then we study, study, study. We found out Rendawa wrote it.

Sorry, Tsongkapa wrote it for Rendawa. He wrote it for his teacher. Then the teacher said, you're such an amazing student, let's switch the name to your name.

It's like Stanley write a mantra for Geshe-la. And then Geshe-la say, you know, let's change the name to Stanley. So we found all these beautiful stories.

So this book, Higher Abhidharma, the structure is going to be chi len, question and answer. And by the way, if the teacher is very famous, they will carve extra book or two books of chi len. It means Q&A.

Question and answer. Yeah, chi len. For the greatest teachers, they will carve their whole lifetime Q&A's.

Rendawa's in English, if you translate it, it would be about 7,000 pages. And so here you have question and answer about mind-only Abhidharma. And then you have this text with these dark letters.

So, this is a commentary to Asanga. And this commentary was written by who? Gyelsab Je.

This is the number one student of Tsongkapa. Who was Gyelsab Je's first teacher? Who made Gyelsab Je a monk?

Rendawa. Same. It's amazing.

Okay, Gyelsab Je is actually older than Tsongkapa, but first he was student of Rendawa. And he and Khenpoche were both students of Rendawa. They were both ordained by Rendawa.

Then Rendawa said, there's an amazing new teacher named Tsongkapa. And I think you should go study with him. But why Gyelsab Je wrote a commentary to this Abhidharma is because Rendawa did.

And he learned from Rendawa. Okay, so it's a very special commentary. This is a commentary on something that the author learned from Tsongkapa's teacher.

So, here's the question from 1,700 years ago. CHI CHER What's CHI CHER? Why?

When we debate, it's CHI CHER. CHI CHER means, tell me why. CHI CHER If you need some new language to talk to your husband or your wife, CHI CHER Let's go to the Italian restaurant.

Yeah, CHI CHER.

[Говорящий 3]
Why?

[Говорящий 1]
Okay, be careful. Say NYE BAR LEN That's the key word today. It means take.

Like, here's a rosary. Special rosary. Made from the marble at Diamond Mountain.

Okay, and if I put it on the table, and then I NYE BAR LEN means take. NYE BAR means take it close to me. So, those five parts of a person, very, very famous from Xinjing.

We always say they are taken. We always say they are taken. Then a sangha says, why?

Why you say those five parts are taken? What's it mean? Then he answers.

Say, you read this one, Sven.

[Говорящий 3]
Then you're free.

[Говорящий 1]
Then you're free. NYE BAR LEN PA DANG BSTAN PA'I DE CHER NYE BAR LEN PA'I PHUNG PO NAM SHES BYA'O Yeah, we call the five parts of a person taken on because they involve a taking. We call them taking because they are connected to some kind of taking.

So, in today's class, how you take on your five parts, now I'll give $100 to anybody in the class online or offline. Nowadays, I'm looking for an easy way in English to translate the five parts of the person. In English, we actually say body and mind.

Sometimes they say mind-body complex. Combination. So, really, the five parts of the person, a good translation a simple translation is body and mind.

Who's Stanley? Stanley is Stanley's body and mind together, and he took them. Okay, how did he take them?

That's today's subject. Now, the $100 question, online or offline, in ancient Buddhism, they don't say body and mind. Ever since the Heart Sutra, they say the five parts of Xiaoping, or something like that.

Xiaoping's five parts. My question for $100, why don't they just say body and mind? Why they divide five parts?

$100. Even those old translators like Ben Kramer troublemakers because those other parts of the mind are troublemakers. The True World News said two of them cause a lot of trouble.

They need to be separated. Let me translate. Sometimes there's a $200 answer to a $100 question.

I don't know who this answer guy is, but he got $200 because it's an excellent answer. Okay, you have, you know, many mental functions like 100 or something. Like what?

Hundred? Hunger. One hundred.

One hundred, sorry. Why are you thinking about hunger? My teacher would say that to me.

Two of them cause big trouble. They are feeling and discriminating. I like this person.

This person made me feel good. This person made me feel bad. Therefore, this is my friend and this is my enemy.

Two of the mental functions, they cause all the trouble in the world. So, therefore, we separate them. Body, mind, feeling, discrimination, and all those other guys.

Okay, and that's five. That's why. Okay, but why do you say those five, you took them unwisely?

This is a Sangha self-question. And that's the subject of the class today. Okay, Stanley, who's going to read and you check them?

Okay, I'm going to make the audience suffer in person. Where's the microphone? Let's make the audience suffer in person.

Read it. Okay, start with Linny. She's like in shock.

Max, she did a nice dance. He's like, no, no, no, no. Let's read it together, it's okay.

I'm already here. Let me help you. Read it.

DANG PO MI PHYI CHOS SO Okay, got it. So, yeah, thank you. And thank you again for the wonderful program that you organized several years ago.

In Taipei, I'll never forget it. Thank you. So, DANG PO means first.

It should be the Q&A cue. And he says, if you go to a Sangha's book, and you are looking for the cue of the Q&A, it's here. PHYI CHES Why?

Why? Why you call those five parts the five parts which I took? That's the question.

Now, did we read this yet? No, not yet. Okay, who's going to read?

You, I'll teach, then. Okay, brother, okay. Someone helped you read it.

[Говорящий 3]
It's okay, let's read it together.

[Говорящий 1]
Just read it together. DROD PA'O Okay, very good. DROD means JING.

Sutra? Okay. From the sutra, DROD MED They're talking about the five parts of the person, PUM PO.

Which are SA BCAD. Impure. So, somebody like Manjushri, do they have five parts?

Yeah, they have. But not like ours. For example, his body is made of light.

It never gets old. It doesn't die. Okay, but the die-able body, we call sak che.

It means dirty. Those dirty five parts, we call nyer len five parts. The five parts which were taken.

So, we learned something so far. You can reach five parts, body and mind pure. But right now we have dirty five parts.

Those dirty five parts are called taken. chi che Why? Why in the sutra, why they say those five parts were taken?

Now, question for you. Did Manjushri take his five parts? No.

When you say taken, it means dirty. Dirty means mortal. Can die.

Can get old. Can white hair or loose hair. By the way, you know, you also will have this later, okay?

It's coming. If you take it, it's coming. And then if we learn about it, how we took it, maybe we can change it.

That's the reason we are doing this class. So, this question, a sangha self-question, why the sutra talk about dirty five parts? Why they call them taken?

Now, hopefully he's going to answer his own question. Who's next then? Brother, you choose.

Okay. Liang Jie. Revenge.

Revenge. Okay. Nibbala.

The first line. La.

[Говорящий 3]
Ni. Sache. Ki.

Pumbo. Pumbo.

[Говорящий 1]
La. Na.

[Говорящий 3]
Ki.

[Говорящий 1]
Pumbo. Pumbor. Pumbor.

And then heavy penises. Mdok. Mdok.

Mdok. Mdok. Be.

[Говорящий 2]
Gu. San. Tang.

Ni. Ne. Ni.

She.

[Говорящий 1]
Pao. Nice. Very nice.

Yay! Okay, it must be the blessing of Diamond Mountain. So, now we have the answer.

He said, why you call them taken? Then he says, my answer is ni. Ar.

Two. Yeah, ar. My answer has two parts.

Okay, first, we're going to talk about the pumbo. We're going to talk about the pumbo. Five parts.

Which are dirty. You can say mortal. You can say diable.

Okay. Can die. Okay.

Then he says, look, those can die parts of the person. You call them mdok. Mdok.

Mdok means given name. Rob Haggerty. Tanye taksam.

Say tanye. Tanye. Taksam.

That's past tense of mdok. It means labeled. Very, very important word in emptiness.

Labeled by the mind. The pen is labeled by the mind. This just red color and skinny.

This is not a pen, this is red skinny. I put the label pen. Dog puts label Chew toy.

The parts are the same. Red and skinny. Then my mind put label.

Pen. Dog's mind puts label. Chew toy.

That's called mdok. Then we label those parts dirty. Impure.

Diable. Can die. By the way, there's no English word diable.

I made it myself. So, my answer to you, why we call it taken? First I'm going to tell you why we call it taken.

Then I'm going to put that name on it, taken. After that, I would like to describe the process of taking. First I'll tell you why the diable parts to you are taken.

Then I'll explain the process of taking. Again, don't forget, this is a commentary. It was written 1,100 years after Sangha.

So, there's a root text. There's a Sangha's old book. And then we have Tsongkapa's student and Rendawa's student Gyaltsabje are commenting.

By the way, something very unusual happened in the story of these guys. So, Rendawa had two great students. Gyaltsabje and Kedrupje.

And if you really read the history, he offered them to Tsongkapa. The two greatest students of Tsongkapa. They were offered from his teachers.

So, it's kind of cool. So anyway, the dark letters is a Sangha. The other letters is Gyaltsabje.

So, I inserted the root text. Because he's inserting it mentally. Let's read the dark letters.

I wanted to say, this whole idea of offering your best students to another teacher. I think it's a teaching itself. These two students were very helpful to Rendawa.

They are his main staff. And he offered them to another teacher. I think it's a beautiful example.

Okay, the most precious thing he has, he offered to another teacher. Okay. NIR BA LEN PAR GANG ZHES NA Oh, who's going to read that?

[Говорящий 2]
NIR BA LEN PAR GANG ZHES NA Good.

[Говорящий 1]
Good. Nice. Wow.

Very nice. What is NIR BA LEN? Yeah, what does it mean to take?

Now, difficulty in the ancient language. The word for the taking, and the word for what you take, and the word for the taker, they are basically the same. And we have to separate them.

So, I'm going to tell you the answer. And I want you to tell me, are they talking about what you take? Or are they talking about the taker?

Or are they talking about the taking? Okay? That's my question.

Three possibilities. The ancient word is unclear. Who's the take here?

Take. Not clear. Taker, taking.

Who's the take? That's the ancient question. I'll give you the answer.

You tell me what was the question. The answer is SDON PA and SDOD CHAGS These are difficult words. These are mental functions.

There are like 52 mental functions, sometimes 60, in Buddhist psychology. And the greatest Buddhist ... the Freud of Buddhism is Asanga.

Like 2,000 years before Freud. Okay, because he says SDON PA SDON PA SDON PA means wanting. Or you have a ...

you like it. And then SDOD CHAGS means attachment. Liking, and attachment.

These are the take. Now, my question to you, are they the object which is taken? Are they the action of taking?

Or are they the taker? Desire? What's it called?

Wanting and attachment. So, you have your parts. They think the person, the taker.

Yeah, nice, nice. Yeah, exactly true. Okay, you have your five parts.

Basically, body and mind. And you take them. Who takes them?

Two attitudes inside of your own mind. Wanting and attachment. What's the difference?

Why did he give two things? What do you think? Wanting and attachment.

What's the difference? Like if you have a new car, and you want it, and you're attached to it. What's the difference between those two?

Wanting and attachment. Yeah, I think you kind of want it before you get it. Yeah.

You have wanting, so you go to the car seller. Then you buy it. Now you have, this is my car.

You don't scratch my car. If they scratch it in the wanting stage, you don't care. Oh, somebody scratched your car at the car dealer.

[Говорящий 3]
I don't care.

[Говорящий 1]
It's not my car. Then attachment comes later. Don't touch the car.

It's my car. Don't scratch it. Okay, got it?

I think so. Okay, let's keep going. Who's going to read that one?

This is long. Let's do Rob. Yeah.

What is that one? RGYAL PA DE LTAR BDAG Okay, good. DANG PO NI Where's DANG PO?

Yeah, why do we call them taken parts? And the answer is these PHUNG PO, body and mind, the ones we have are called SDUG BSNGAL, body and mind. It means suffering.

Geshe-la, I don't know if my body feels pretty good this morning. Hey, honey, it's just future suffering. Hey, honey, it's just future suffering.

Oh, I feel happy this morning. Yeah, you wait till you have arthritis. You will find out.

All right, like that. SDUG BSNGAL GYI PHUNG PO NYER LEN PHUNG PO SHES RTOG Why do we call the suffering parts? Why do we call them taken?

And this SDUG is the present or future tense of BDAG. Very, very, very famous word. Here's red and skinny.

Here's pen. I put the word pen on this. By the way, that word is not a word.

Pen is not a word. It's a mental picture. So, word in Buddhism, pen, it's not bi, it's not that.

It's a picture. Comes out of your mind. My picture is different from dog's picture.

That picture comes directly out of karmic seed. And that seed always comes from how you treat other people. Your world, every object in your world, is flowing from how you treat other people.

Every detail of your life is flowing from how you treat other people, through the mental pictures, which MDOG. Okay, got it? So, when he says MDOG here, why we say taken?

It's a very important word, taken. Why we call it that? Why we give it that name?

Those of you studying ancient language, the past tense. Okay, $100 you guys, you old translators. Past tense of MDOG in English letters.

R-T-A-G-S Want to say R-T, want to say E-T. Yeah, good. Word said B-T-A-G-S.

Dot. Next said B-R-T-A-G-S. Next said B-R-T-A-G-S.

Also pronounced exactly the same, dot. The R is silent. So, for 1,000 years, confusion.

People misspelled the word. So, I'm sorry to say, word is correct. He and this guy named Max Wu are the main stealers of my money.

He and this guy named Max Wu are the main stealers of my money. These two guys. By the way, RTOGS PA'I RTOGS TZAM, very famous.

Everything is labeled by your mental pictures. And by the way, don't ask me, Oh Geshe-la, if it's just a picture of a pen, can I write with it?

[Говорящий 3]
Is it real?

[Говорящий 1]
That's the only kind of pen there ever was. That is the real pen. The one label from your mind.

That's the only real pen. Can it write? That's the test of real.

Can it write? Yeah! And the writing also labeled from your mind.

The pen's not making the writing, your mind's making the writing. That's why pen can run out. Okay?

All right, anyway. Now, interesting problem here. In the ancient book, there's a big mistake.

And that's my specialty. When they say, Geshe Michael's so smart. It's true.

But my main thing that makes me smart, I like to fix the ancient books. You have to understand, the first copies of these books, Asanga's books, even in West China, were always written. There's no metal publishing press, nothing.

In Rendawa, Rendawa paid for one of the first copies of these ancient books. When he got older in his life, close to dying, you always get famous just before you die. It's kind of frustrating.

So, he got very famous. Rendawa got very famous. Then, Daming.

In West China, called Daming. It means Chinese Emperor. Of that time.

In West Chinese language. He gave ... I think it was the last Da Emperor, or something like that.

Anyway, he gave very precious gifts, clothing. Monks' golden robes. He gave to Rendawa.

Then at that time, that's the Eastern King. We call Eastern King. In Xi'an, maybe.

Chang'an. Then the Western King, is North India. Kashmir.

At that time, it's called Guge. So, the King of Guge gave him a small box of Kashmir saffron. Kashmir is North India.

Saffron is that little yellow flower. At that time, saffron, you can only get one tiny, tiny piece from one flower. It's a very powerful dye for making coloring food and coloring clothing.

That monk's clothing dyed with saffron. Like, to get one kilo, maybe three dragon's head. You have to grow a lot.

Yeah, yeah, flower. Cover three dragon's head with flower, and pick out that one thread. So, the Eastern King gave gold cloths.

The Western King gave a box of saffron, which is worth its weight in gold. Then, the Eastern King gave a box of gold cloths. And I think still it's similar.

The price is similar. Then, what did Randhawa do? He wanted to copy the Tengyur.

This is 3,700 books. You have to hire basically 3,000 guys. They have to copy quarter million pages by hand.

How to pay for it? He sold that gold cloth. He sold the Kashmir saffron.

He got all the gold, and he paid 3,000 guys. To copy the Tengyur by hand. That Tengyur became Nartang Tengyur.

And John Brady's team just finished input. Now it's free. Online.

Everybody can have it. Okay?

[Говорящий 3]
Cool?

[Говорящий 1]
You don't have to pay a box of gold. You don't have to pay for the gold cloth and the saffron. Okay, anyway, Grandpa got distracted.

You okay? Yes. How much time we got?

Zero. Minus one. Okay, anyway, in the ancient book, there's a writing mistake.

Because those writers can't read. They are just a copy machine. They cannot read.

They just write all day. They get a little money. Later they carve.

Those guys also cannot read. So they put mistakes in the ancient books. Then my ...

what I really enjoy, except for a football movie, is to fix those old books. So this gyawa it should be ndak. It's an ancient mistake.

It means that's why we call it. Why do we call the five parts taker? Because they involve three different kinds of taking.

Now, those Korea soap opera? What's that called? The Emperor's Affection.

What's it called? King's Affection. King's Affection.

I love that one. Ancient Korea soap opera. That king, who's really a lady, she's almost ready to kiss her teacher.

Then they cut. Then they say, come back next week. Come back next week.

Next month. To Stanley's class. If you want to know the three kinds of taking.

Okay? All right, now Grandpa sit down. We don't do that.

We don't sit down. Okay. Well, I'll tell Nick we cut that.

Okay, Nick, we have some other job to do here, so we'll cut off from our side. Oh, okay. Well, thank you so much.

Thank you, Geshe Michael, for class. You're welcome. Love to see you guys.

Enjoy Diamond Mountain, everybody. All right, then. I think that everybody deserves a break this Saturday, so we can go relax.

What do you think, Ben?

[Говорящий 3]
Sure. Probably should have one for the teachers, right?

[Говорящий 1]
Of course, Juan is here, too. Good. I just mean, yeah.

It depends, I guess, if he's ready. Are you ready, Mr. Housel? I am ready, but we have special guests coming up today.

Oh, okay. And they think that the thing is going to start at 9.15. If they are ready, we can go, but I don't know. That's okay.

We can stall if they're not ready. Oh, you're ready? I'm ready, yeah.

Oh, our special guests are ready. I like your setup, Juan. Yeah, thank you.

It's like practice time for setting up and testing new equipment, stuff like that. It's cool. And you got a bell.

That's true. And I hope you can hear it. Can you hear it?

Oh, yeah. Yes. Okay, great.

It's like I need to find the balance between you hearing the motorcycles and you hearing the bell. I guess what that means will be revealed. No, it means that sometimes the traffic and the cars pass by.

That's not necessary for you to hear, but the bell can be. Okay, so, okay, let's go on. We have two guests today, but first start with the news.

Okay, as you all can see, Geshe Michael and Stanley Chen were enjoying a beautiful time in Diamond Mountain. They are in the middle of innovation retreats. I want to show you the poster, and I will encourage Marina, if you hear me talking about something, just play it.

So that way we start, like, showing the pictures. Please. Thank you.

So, yeah, they are just enjoying time at innovation retreats. That's going to keep going until next, what is it, Friday? I think it's Friday, October 24th.

That same day, the event in Phoenix is going to start. But in the meantime, while Geshe Michael, Stanley, Rob, other friends are there, most likely Xiaoping, in Diamond Mountain, YSI is having their event in Thailand. So Errol must be by now arriving to Thailand.

I talked to Paola just a few days ago. She's already there. Konila may be there, most likely.

So, yeah, they are about to start. I think, if not, they started yesterday, because today is the yesterday of Asia. So best wishes over there, and keep us posted if you want to share pictures and videos and stuff.

Okay, what else? A very big success, the program on Sky Blue Friends. Still going on, and this last Friday, we had a great session with our friend Ellie Vanderpass.

I just tuned in a little bit at the end, and I think it's really, really interesting, the topics they are talking about, is how to get ready, how to practice, how to get ready for our moment of death, how to practice while we're alive, and not only that, but how then we can help others to do the same, if they need our help and support. Whatever I did, maybe 20 minutes before the end set finished, because, you know, I had to cover some other session before that, but the time I was able to look at it, wonderful. I really recommend it, and they have, next picture please, a new YouTube channel where you can catch up.

If you were not able to watch live or join the class, you can still check their YouTube channel and watch the recordings over there. The URL, I think, is the same one as far as we can watch. The latest poster I've received is the previous poster.

Marina, could we go one before? Yeah, and that's Gina, and I make sure to copy paste the QR code and put it in the new poster. If the URL has changed, I'll make sure you get the new one on the Telegram chat group.

Okay, thanks. Next one, please. We're celebrating some birthdays, and just two days ago we had Osiris' birthday.

He's having a wonderful time in nearby Mexico City, and soon, as far as I know, he'll be visiting the beautiful state of Arizona. Okay, and then what happened? And then the next day we have Dennis Moore's birthday.

That was just yesterday. I think, no, on the 16th. So two days ago, Dennis Moore, I think he's still taking presents and red envelopes.

For those who may not have been able to give them personally, he's going to be around the Peachtree Cafe Gardens most likely, so you can still do it. And then today it's Aldo Arzapalo's birthday. Look how happy he is.

Now he has a newborn baby. Her name is Nila, and she must be reaching the six months old by now. They are going to be coming to Phoenix events, so you can also give them the red envelopes over there.

And tomorrow is Flavia's birthday. She has been helping a lot with this very cool project, Carrots and Potatoes. Lately, I've been watching the content of it, and it's really cool.

They release one video every month with healthy recipes, but also with segments of ancient wisdom and how to apply this to daily life. Very, very cool project. We'll be talking more about it in the next upcoming days.

But congratulations to Flavia. Tomorrow is her birthday, and she's here in Mexico. Best wishes to all of them.

Birthday birds of October. Next picture, please. Sorry.

The next thing, actually, before the picture is, just to let you know that Cristina Casica is putting on the oven the new upcoming Sanskrit Level 3. You know she has been teaching organic Sanskrit courses. She did Organic Sanskrit 1, and then the second level as well, Organic Sanskrit 2, and now she's getting ready to do Organic Sanskrit 3 starting in January.

We had a very cool interview with her, and I want to show you just a little teaser of what's coming up. This is not the full interview. The full interview is longer.

You will be able to look at it later, but I want to just give you a little taste of what's coming up. So if the table, please, can you help me? Let's watch for a moment.

I always loved languages, and I have been blessed in my life to study many languages. I've studied French and German and Spanish and Latin and Greek and Arabic, and finally I came to Sanskrit. I had a teacher who invited me to learn Sanskrit.

That was about 10 or 12 years ago, and I took his course, and I fell in love, and I've been studying Sanskrit ever since. Sanskrit, we know, is one of the oldest languages on Earth.

[Говорящий 3]
We have evidence of Sanskrit being written on stones. From 2,000 years before Christ. But not only is Sanskrit one of the oldest languages, but it's one of the most special and certainly most fascinating languages on Earth.

And I think this is because Sanskrit is a vibrational language, and the vibrations of the sound of speaking it can actually bring things into existence, you could say. I started teaching Organic Sanskrit, which is something Geshe Michael invented, about two years ago.

[Говорящий 1]
I've taken a group of students all the way through to Sanskrit 2, Organic Sanskrit 2, and in 2026 I will teach them Organic Sanskrit 3. But I very much want to go back, and I hope that I will be able to teach Organic Sanskrit 1 every year. Okay, so there you go.

She's getting ready for Organic Sanskrit 3, and also she told me she's going to be teaching Organic Sanskrit 1. That's the plan. Simultaneously, I think alternating during different weeks or different days.

More details are going to come up soon, but just so you know, I'm sharing here a little bit of the interview we had at the Sedona College about two weeks ago. Now, another very cool project that we want to talk about today is this Meditations Institute app that they are developing to provide access to all of us with wonderful, wonderful meditations that Geshe Michael has been teaching and sharing over many, many years. So for that, I would like to show you the next picture and invite our friend Silvia Engelhardt to talk a little bit about it.

[Говорящий 2]
So hi, everyone. Thank you for having me, Juan.

[Говорящий 1]
Pleasure. Thank you for coming. I know it's like about 6 p.m. in, where are you, Germany? In Germany, yes. Wonderful. So thank you for being here.

And the other day that I hear about this very cool project, I got very happy and excited because for many years I've been thinking that would be so cool to get access to these meditations. So maybe you can tell us what are you doing and what's the next steps for the project? Yeah.

So in December last year, we've heard Geshe-la mentioning that he still uses Insight Timer because we don't have our own app. And since then, an incredible international team is working on this project, on this app. And I can show you a little, a short video, if I'm allowed, and you can get an idea.

Am I allowed to share my screen? I think so. I think so.

You have to try. Yes.

[Говорящий 3]
So this is the app and I am going to play it. As you can see, we have eight languages.

[Говорящий 1]
Some people in the chat, Silvia, are wondering if the video is supposed to have sound or no sound. No sound, no sound.

[Говорящий 3]
Maybe I should talk, but it's already finished and I will tell you all the interesting stuff. You might have seen that we have a couple of cool features. You might have noticed, and this is what the developers who prepared this video had a focus on, that we have three timers.

You can have a little time at the beginning before you start the main meditation, just in order to get ready, or you can set it for 10 minutes so you do the preliminaries.

[Говорящий 1]
And then you can have a third timer at the end after the main meditation for dedication, for rejoicing. And this was a feature our brilliant designer, Yasheng, came up with.

[Говорящий 3]
She also did all the beautiful screens and the design.

[Говорящий 1]
We have more than 100 meditations, some hidden gems who are part of a teaching of the Lam Rim series, and this wonderful team around Alex found them, cut them. Uta Scharf helps us, Anna Ilje helps us, and some more people. And right now we need help with the funding for the sound engineer who edits the recording, removes background noise, and improves the quality in general.

Then for everyone who gives 50 euros or more, we have a rejoice meditation that is based on a script that Anna Ilje did very skillfully. And I just got an email from a donor, and she said, what a wonderful meditation. So this is a gift you will get from us if you support us now.

[Говорящий 3]
For 100 euros, you get one month free on the app, and for 200 you will get three months for free access to the app.

[Говорящий 2]
And of course, the app will be ready to launch on December 17.

[Говорящий 3]
And one last thing is that the plan is, the app is not only a meditation app, and of course we are working very, very closely with the five houses right now, especially with Samadhi House.

[Говорящий 1]
But thanks to Tim, who got involved right at the beginning, and thanks to our dear friend Francisco from Worldview Tech Team, it is also a blueprint for all other houses and Worldview organizations. So that's my shtick. Thank you.

Thank you so much. So just to get things clarified, pretty much the app as a development is ready. Now what is needed is to upload all the content, the many, many meditations that you've been kind of collecting from all over the years, from all over the programs.

[Говорящий 3]
It's almost ready. The launch is December 17, but you've seen we've already developed a lot of all the design and the functions.

[Говорящий 2]
But it's not yet ready. It will be ready in December. On Geshe-la's birthday, of course.

[Говорящий 1]
Amazing. Okay, great. Thank you so much.

And people, if they want to participate on help to support this project, the completion of this project, just follow the QR code. As Silvia said, there are like different, how do you call it, packages, categories that you can help and get access to different services and products that this app offers. Great.

Okay, thank you very much, Silvia. Best wishes over there. Keep us posted for the big upcoming launch.

[Говорящий 2]
Yeah, thank you. I will. Bye.

Thank you.

[Говорящий 1]
Thank you as well. Bye. All right, so there you go.

Great, great, great project. Very helpful, very needed, at least for me. Okay, let's keep going for the final segment of today.

That's going to be the upcoming Phoenix event. Let me show you the picture, the next picture, please. We were sharing the last week we had this talk with Sara.

Sara was the last guest who came on regards to this, but today we have the producer of the event, Alejandra Jasso, living in Phoenix these days. And she's going to tell us a little bit of many of the surprises and things that we as audience can expect from this upcoming Phoenix event. It's about to start.

Ale, welcome. How are you?

[Говорящий 2]
Thank you, Juan. I'm very good, very excited to be here. And I want to invite everyone to join us for the online program in case that you cannot join in person in Phoenix or Malaysia.

So I want to talk about what is the surprises that we will have in the online program. This is a new offering that we will have this online. We have a new classes that we are calling them Tea and Teachings.

It sounds really fun and relaxing. And the most important thing is that we will have it in many languages and in many time zones. That's one of the features that we offer in the online program.

And this session is going to be lead by teachers and a special guest that they will help us to look for the jewels that we will find in Geshe Michael's classes, in other classes, and also it will create an atmosphere where the students can share the aha moments and things that they feel that they connected right after the class. So that's going to be happening in various languages, as I mentioned, in Vietnamese, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, English. So it's really nice that we have the opportunity.

Thanks for a lot of our beautiful volunteers and sponsors that we are able to grow the offering online. And we can have rebroadcasting sessions. And this time, not only we will have rebroadcasting sessions, we will have live sessions in different time zones because the goal is to improve and have a better experience for all our students.

So everybody is welcome. Please come and support the program. We will need your help to reach more people, and it's going to be amazing.

This online program is an addition of what is going to be happening in Phoenix. So you will not miss anything. You will have extra content that you can go deeper.

And as you can see, we'll have also in the online classes, the Somatic House, the Circus House, all the special master classes that we are preparing to have in person in Phoenix. This also is going to be online. And as I've mentioned, it's going to be rebroadcasting for different time zones so everybody can have a better experience and enjoyable learning experience.

So please come, join, support us, and we would love to see you all in person in Phoenix or in Malaysia with Nick and Serani or online with all the special guests and special classes that we will have. So there you go, Juan. Please help us to bring more people.

[Говорящий 1]
Yeah, no, I mean, what we are doing on the side of P3, you know, we're sharing content and posting, and this interview with Anatole, I think people are liking it very much. And I think people here in Guadalajara where I am right now are very excited. A big group from Mexicans are going.

Aldo, Ria, Paulina, Fachi, the babies, I don't know if they are going as well. So, yeah, it feels like a big energy. And not only them, even more people, Gina, Francisco, many more.

But I think it's going to be a really great, great time. The other day, some Ukrainians from L.A. also texted me they are going. I think it's going to be very, very fun.

And it's just like in five days from now.

[Говорящий 2]
Exactly.

[Говорящий 1]
Yeah.

[Говорящий 2]
And the beauty of this program is also that we will open the doors for everybody around the world. If you cannot come to Phoenix or Malaysia, we will be online for you. We are preparing a very special session that we are cooking it.

And it's called The Beetle Room. That is going to be led by Francisco and other volunteers. So please register, come and check it out, and especially support the program, support the new teachers, support the new offerings because we need you to keep growing.

So thank you so much for having me today. And I hope to see everybody online or in person.

[Говорящий 1]
Thank you. Thank you so much, Ale. And best wishes for this last production weekend before the big event.

I just quickly want to mention that for those of you coming to Phoenix, if you wonder, there is going to be afterwards an event in the Diamond Mountain. It's just the next picture, please. Well, that's for Japan, but we'll talk about it some other time.

These things, if you happen to go to Phoenix and after the event, you want to go and have some time of practice to Diamond Mountain, that's maybe like about a six-hour drive from Phoenix. Beautiful, beautiful place, super quiet, surrounded by nature. Our friends Brigitte and Gail are going to be guiding this from October 29 to November 4.

If you already made the trip and you want to stick around for a little while, that's a great opportunity as well. And now, finally, I just want to remind people, I send an email to many of the organizations and organizers. If you want to be part of the next upcoming wonderful book of events that's going to be live, you can share posters, just send an email, and you can make it to the upcoming book.

This is the first test. It was a great success in Gaza, I think, in Guadalajara. But now I'm going to make a more updated one.

You may have an email, and if you have friends who you may think want to send posters and the like, you can share the email as well. And just last reminder that you can also follow us and get daily or weekly news on Telegram and WhatsApp groups. Many times I share the links to events there or special videos or info like that over there.

Not every day, but often, very often. And then you can also watch special interviews or recorded sessions on YouTube, which is probably the next picture. All right, there you go.

Have a great weekend. Enjoy. Hope you have a good time with family and friends or doing some virtuosity.

See you on Monday. I think Peter and Maria are going to be with us next Monday. They are already in Arizona.

They're going to be coming to the Phoenix event, so we'll be talking with them next week. Thank you, everyone. Finally, we made it on time.

See you next time.
