[Speaker 2] we're talking about it doesn't seem happy [Speaker 1] did you go surfing every day or every week me i go as much as i can but wow it's usually like every did you play the longboard shortboard i ride a longboard unless unless we're we're going to the beach with the whole family then i'll bring a shortboard because that's what i can fit in the car yeah do you serve no i even don't swim is there surfing on the on the on the east side of taiwan yeah there's a lot of there's a good way there nice yeah is charu serving no it's too big maybe if we put it like steak on a surfboard or something then he he'll figure it out i just learned that helium this is what happens when you're a parent i guess i just learned that helium is a very short supply and uh it's illegal in some towns to fill helium balloons you're nodding venerable uh does that do you know is it because they use it in the production of [Speaker 2] electronic components or something like that's probably because all the dead and fish shows that would be nitrous oh no well afterwards when you go home and you you suck on helium to make your voice go like this the problem with helium is that it's a it's a resource that is being it's running out and it doesn't it's a limited resource oh it doesn't replenish some yeah exactly so it would it looks like we're going to run out pretty soon it goes up they might for some reason i don't know how they get it out of the earth [Speaker 1] yeah i wonder it's one proton right that's the first atom on the periodic table the first element second oh it's hydrogen hydrogen but anyway it's used in medical stuff and once it runs out they won't be able to do those procedures anymore oh now i feel guilty for hosting the birthday party with helium balloons yesterday you should feel guilty no that's not helpful just don't do it again it's a good i can't help it how i was raised oh wow good well played raised i guess i guess you can use hydrogen but it might explode yeah they've tried that there was a famous incident at one point well when we had the bounce castle yesterday i was imagining if that were filled with helium how that would have got that'd be fun sounds wonderful it would be exciting for sure [Speaker 2] you could also have tiny little hot air balloons yeah yeah oh we have a haunted house [Speaker 1] nice working on it ezra is probably really jealous about that [Speaker 2] very excited oh [Speaker 1] okay sorry sorry i'm late i got uh gibson i got caught by some delicious me and my wife were debating uh adam's text well about the garbage can and everything hi ezra yeah hey i told adam the same thing when you wake up you're supposed to open your eyes okay don't work i think you're gonna need a hammer to get his eyes open um my eyes are already open no they're like halfway hey you're like halfway you're like halfway in bed all right let's get back to work you lazies okay let me get gibson's text up um okay all right this is a painting of some copper that veronica's son did long ago uh anyway uh this is uh gibson's text can you see it okay gibson yes okay good uh and uh as i mentioned before it's a basic long rim but it's exceptional because why gibson because uh it's sort of um jason carver's own experience and yeah it's like a personal advice writing the yeah yeah he's sharing his own uh personal experience which is he never talks about himself i can never i can't remember him talking about himself once it's the opposite uh okay term 18 starts here uh we started gibson's text in february uh we are making good progress because the material is pretty familiar to us it's long rim we finished seven folio faces in in a tibetan book the front side and the back side of a page are one number so we say folio face means we split the front from the back in english book the front of the page and the back of the page have different numbers uh if we really worked uh if we really went fast uh gibson we could finish your text this term but i don't want to go that fast uh i like to enjoy the book a little bit uh like like a good cigar all right uh and uh this is going to be we have a pocket classic series we have a series of books that we have translated in the past uh like the source of all my good commentary and the three principal paths commentary that we call pocket books and and it's something that um a lady could carry in her purse for example uh with her and she could pull it out and read it you know uh and there's some suggestions i have about the next uh pocket book we could do is the praise of lord buddha for teaching interdependence and there's a great commentary by mama quicksilver so i that's kind of up next for you if you want uh gibson uh okay so let's go to the text uh let me close the curtain so you guys don't get the sunlight here that's that's not emily that's not the light shining off the top of my head okay uh and nick i just proved that i don't teach these classes in my underwear okay it's just jeans all right we're all going to make turns proving it i'm gonna get this together okay good uh please read gibson and now i got this list here let me see venerable utpala can you check him okay yes thank you thank you okay cool uh so i i always go and get the outline for you uh we were talking about two topics one was chiwa mitakpa what's that gibson and don't translate it wrong it's one of grandpa's yeah yeah i don't doesn't like it is a changing of the death that's what it doesn't mean yeah yeah yeah it means a human impermanence in the form of death and it doesn't mean that death is impermanent although it is impermanent because kala danda uh and and we finished thinking about how impermanent our life is and now uh we're going to talk about uh the possibility that we could go to ngendro after we die where's what's ngendro the three-door realm yeah the three we could end up as an animal we could go to a hell realm we could become a hungry ghost okay uh so here we go uh there's the root text it's just a single line uh can you please read it uh and word is checking you yeah what's that mean there's no guarantee that you won't repurchase it uh as um no wrong after you then yeah good and the strange word here is dang okay dang means like a guarantee all right guarantee uh before in case i die in the next five minutes or somebody else uh what does dang can you get a dang that you won't go to the lower realms can is it possible to get a guarantee last part of the path of preparation no the second second part you can say that and and at that point what did you figure out that makes you an impossible for you to go to a lower realm fully understand of the pain yeah if you and and you know i hate to repeat it but i'm i'm gonna explain why i repeat it i'm i'm gonna repeat why i repeat uh if you really understand the pen deeply you cannot go to a lower realm after you die and it doesn't seem very important now because you're not dead uh but as soon as you are dead it becomes the only thing you you think about okay so uh and we all have to die so you know why not take care of it first you know when you get to be 69.9 years old dr kramer i read an interesting magazine article when i was 22 i think about about getting old how to get old gracefully and they said first of all don't complain about your aches and pains to younger people because they don't really care and then secondly they said uh when you when you get out of your car and you come to somebody's house always find out where the bathroom is because you gotta pee pee all the time and uh so dang may means uh you're never sure if you might have to pee pee or not so take care of it before you die okay take care of it when you're just 23 like gibson okay like figure out where's the bathroom before you need it right like get your guarantee get the pen guarantee first and then you can get on with your life you can relax if you get hit by a car everything's okay all right so take care of that guarantee first all right he says no guarantee because he's talking to people who haven't seen the pen okay haven't understood the pen okay and don't ever complain to grandpa that he's teaching the pen again because he has an ulterior motive if there's one person out of a thousand people who didn't hear the pen geshe-la is going to mention it okay because he's trying to help that one person i was in vietnam a couple months ago there was 2 000 people in the audience 2 000 more people online and i taught the pen and somebody complained and i said shut up you know this is we're trying to help people who don't go to the lower realm okay all right uh please read and let me get somebody here anatole okay are you there anatole cute yes hi good morning oh hi good morning uh man i was in kyoto in this little coffee shop the guy looked just like you and he and he the owner and he insisted on playing vinyl records all day and i was in heaven and he got even these uh what do you call the tubes oh wow yeah his whole setup had electron tubes vacuum tubes all over yeah i think some of them were just glued on there and they didn't do anything uh all right so please check uh give sense pronunciation key okay thank you thank you and and uh hi to kitty by the way kitty went to school he looks so cute uh he's all dressed up uh what's the masai mean you guys not all that's not all yeah not only that not only are you impermanent but you gotta think about shiming what's that mean after your day yeah you gotta think about what's gonna happen after your death okay uh you you are gonna be pongba into the future the present tense is pemba the classical example is yeah like da pin da pin what's that mean arrow yeah to shoot an arrow so when you see the verb pongba think about an arrow you know uh you're on your deathbed your your eyes are closing your breath is stopping and suddenly somebody shoots an arrow and you're you're shot into the future okay you're a shot into the future uh what shoots you lay karnak uh white and black karma yeah white and black karma and then a shin means according to whether it's karnak uh uh yeah you must uh yeah you must take the rebirth yeah you are forced uh so sometimes think about the meaning of the sentence and use a more powerful english word if you can uh here you can say forced okay you are forced uh to take a birth according to uh or like an arrow is shot according to your black and white karma okay well where does the white karma send you white karma sin uh virtue yeah sends you to where to the place where photo happiness yeah yeah which means the three higher births yeah and there you're gonna do when you're yeah you will be happy all the time you will feel happiness yeah you'll experience pleasure and your black karma is gonna shoot you to the nendor to the three row room yeah and then you'll experience dunya experience suffering yeah cool all right here we go next sentence chunzom are you ready yeah yes okay good welcome hi thank you all right here we go be tough on this guy okay uh okay good uh there's something wrong with the with the text here and maybe you can check a gibson okay i don't think this skyo should be here but i'm not sure okay so it's if it said dendor it's comfortable okay ducky need dendor qa with you uh the causes for being born in where dendro uh in the higher realm yeah higher realms those kind of causes chair my group you don't you don't uh most of you don't have this kind of karma yeah and this chair means uh mostly yeah i haven't i haven't been able to accumulate uh the many causes for a better rebirth but luckily i'm going to sock the nendor king with you luckily i collect a lot of karma to regroup in the lower realm yeah yeah yeah okay if you look at your bank account and how many good seeds and how many bad seeds then you get an answer okay okay uh verbal chins on you're still checking okay uh gibson try to make some mistakes okay okay and they're here now um right okay good uh therefore um there's no dang that i won't be born in the end or what's that mean there's no uh guarantee or insurance that you won't rebirth in the lower realm nice topa dogma man i didn't get that uh guarantee from nobody wrote me that guarantee okay uh what's same means moreover uh you don't have yeah it means uh look it's not just that you don't have a guarantee that you won't go to the lower realm on top of that you kind of have a guarantee that you will go to okay it's not just that you don't have a guarantee that you won't go it's that you do have a guarantee that you probably will go so mayba must say not only you don't have a guarantee but uh you know if you if you think about the possibility uh it's probably that you will go so you should think about dunyang yang yang what's that mean uh you should uh think about the suffering that you will rebirth in the lower realm over and over again good and then your turn do will be shook temple uh then your your liberation will should be stay or power yeah liberation for liberation uh yeah your hunger you're hungry for liberation will be powerful okay i like to say hungry nowadays i don't know okay all right uh we reached a second part in the tibetan they don't tell you what's the second part so grandpa goes and got it for you first we were thinking about where i would like to go when i die and secondly i have to actually prepare for some kind of good death and going on well okay so here we go uh i would like is connie in there i see connie's iphone what's it all about con she is here i guess all right uh uh we're gonna go and uh gibson promised to make some mistakes here okay you're checking good have a good rebirth there's three categories here uh number one it would help if we understood the advice or the teachings on kendo what's kendo uh refuge yeah yeah so if you want to take care of your next life if you want to have a good rebirth the first thing is to understand how to take refuge uh then uh you should long door you have to long what should what should uh do and what you shouldn't do good uh which is the two kinds of karma may need uh take up good karma and get rid of your bad karma that's how you have to live your life and then we're going to actually go on to how to achieve what uh the support factor of the to to achieve the omission yeah yeah in other words we've got to look at our body as a basis or a foundation that we can use it's like a home base that we can use to achieve buddhahood okay all right here we go uh khani you're still up okay okay go ahead i'm suspecting you memorized the root text okay good that makes me really happy all right uh let's go straight to the commentary can you read this sentence okay they took your control soon so soon honey yeah yeah yay thank you okay good mistake uh gibson i assume it was on purpose okay uh what's a jikyo we're guessing jikyo uh protects from the fear good nice nice nice and uh something that will help us is is the three jewel yeah some ball so uh we could drop into the lower birth from our karma therefore to protect us from the fears of the lower birth uh definitely the only thing that can help us is the three jewels um the very first teaching i ever gave i ever gave was at a dharma center called land of medicine bruna in i don't know 100 years ago and uh and they asked me to come for four or five days and give a teaching and and i had never taught in public and that was the first time and i chose uh tim's text tim has a wonderful tim's book has a wonderful presentation of the three jewels uh and there's a they call it the real three jewels and they call it the not real three jewels okay and the not real three jewels is the buddha statues is uh buddha statues is a not real three jewels uh the books the dharma books let me get one yeah this is adam's new book if if you need exercise you can just go like this for half an hour okay it's adam's new book that's the not real dharma jewel okay that's the not real dharma jewel and monks and nuns are the not real sangha jewel okay what's the real dharma jewel gibson seeing emptiness directly yeah seeing emptiness directly is the real dharma jewel why why because you will be protect yeah it protects you that protects you and uh what's the real sangha and ayah the one who see emptiness directly yeah and what's the real buddha then what's the real buddha yeah you can say the emptiness body of the buddha which you already have and that protects you and the perceiving them okay the wisdom of the buddha okay so all three refuge all three jewels are emptiness okay the what really protects you is understanding the pen my lip yeah okay and and that if you understand the pen you took refuge now i'll tell you a secret you guys okay uh if you understand the three jewels and if you take refuge you are a buddhist okay that that makes you a buddhist if you grew up a buddhist or if you even became a monk or a nun and you don't understand the pen then you are not a buddhist okay it's it's very interesting okay if you don't take refuge real refuge you're not even a buddhist so it's possible that there's a lot of buddhists running around who don't know they're a buddhist and there's a lot of buddhists running around who don't know that they're not a buddhist okay so that's the situation all right uh please read this part let me pick on a new person ella is ella translating probably she's hiding okay never mind i got cat came up here cat can you check gibson yes of course all right thank you be critical okay uh yeah okay good gk du means as the book says okay as the book says sanggye chodang ngen dujpe tarpa duet nam dukpa nang gyi kyep the protection for tarpa du for the desire to liberation yeah the the protection for people who want to get to freedom is sanggye chodang kway jang buddha dharma samsara okay uh he says i like this quotation and therefore we must go for refuge by shepa the yunten i explain the quality good quality yeah by understanding what refuge is and what his means is if you don't understand the real meaning of refuge then you don't take ref you're not taking refuge and you're not protecting yourself i'll give a hundred dollars okay now everybody woke up so many eyes pop open i give a hundred dollars if someone can tell me the famous story of the person who tried to take refuge the wrong way oh somebody hid under the robes of the buddha during the during a war when his family was being attacked and they thought that the body of the literal body of the buddha would protect them okay so i'm 50 bucks to gibson and 50 bucks to nick because gibson was about to say it i know he's about to say i'm sure i didn't say okay 50 bucks each uh now the new rule is you have to collect from ellie don't blame geshe michael if you don't get the money okay and i want you to collect okay so please do all right uh you have to send an email and say this is to remind you i i made 50 bucks okay all right where does this quotation come from is it some kind of long rim text no it's a very beautiful text by chanda kirti who's one of the greatest masters of emptiness in history and he wrote a book called uh 70 verses on how to take refuge he wrote a book about how to take refuge i've never seen anybody translate it it might be interesting okay and here's the quotation from that book okay right okay cat you're still up um nice job um um yeah yeah okay uh drol tsuyang means how do you kendo what's that mean how do you how do you take refuge yeah how do you go for refuge well ning tapa ne uh in the bottom of your heart yeah from the bottom of your heart you have to first you have to have yi che uh faith or direct your mind yeah you have to believe that the power to kyopa you to protect you yeah from the sufferings of the realms and quarter in general samsara that the three jewels has that power you don't go to someone for help if you don't believe they can help you that's why kids go to mommy when their brother hits them okay they believe mommy can help them if you don't believe mommy can help you you won't go to mom okay so first you have to believe they can help you okay uh difficult idiom chawa you have to depend on the hope uh is an idiom and it means to put all your hopes all your hopes and wishes in one person okay it means to put all your hopes into one refuge object okay it like when you're a little kid it's your mom normally you know someone hits you or you cut yourself then you have rewa tope chag to your mom i remember uh two things in my life i remember i was in our car my mom was driving and she got some kind of eye disease you know like your eye goes red for two three days and uh and i thought she was god you know i thought she's buddha i thought she cannot get sick and i saw her sick and then and then uh it kind of broke my my belief and in her as a refuge and then i was with my dad one day he used to go hunting he used to take me hunting uh animals and uh yeah so he's got the rifle in his hand and uh and i remember one day he got very sick when we were hunting he almost died and then i then my rewa tapa changed my rewa tapa changed i thought oh my parents are not immortal my parents are mortal and then my my feeling that they could help me anytime it it broke my rewa tapa broke okay so rewa tapa means that reyta chawa means you have the feeling that that person is un un immortal they can always help you okay and only the three jewels are like that not your parents okay all right i got and marianne muller you're ready you guys are in trouble nick taught me how to find out who's on the call okay uh don't forget to make some mistakes gibson okay um The pre-nasal for dro is M. It should be NGDRO, but only this one idiom, we say KHYAM NGDRO with an M. So if you want to sound very good in your pronunciation, it's an exception. You say KHYAM NGDRO. And then it sounds good to a Tibetan speaker. DE LTA RGYIS PA LAS RGYAL PA NUS PAR You understand that they can protect you from these fears. ZHES NAS, RGYAL PA DE PHYIR DU In order to get the protection, you have to... KHYAM NGDRO BZHIN DU BSTAN PAR You have to what? Really rely on taking refuge. Yeah, and I'll tell you something interesting, just for fun, Gibson. This is often spelled B-R-T-A-N. I'll spell it for you. Often seen here as B-R-T-A-N. And what's the difference? What's the difference between B-S-T-E-N and B-R-T-A-N? One is as a basic, and one is rely on. Yeah, this B-S means rely on. Oh no, this then means something else. Nick, what were you going to say? Firm. I thought that was relied upon or something. No, it's firm or hard or steadfast. Yeah, without the E, with the A, it means very, very firm, like a diamond. Like make your refuge very strong. If it has an E, B-R-T-E-N, it means rely on. If it has a B-S-T-E-N, it means rely on like medicine. And if it has a B-R-T-A-N, it means make your refuge very strong. And the classical example of B-R-T-A-N is a diamond. So, then you should study the LAB BYA for Khyam Dor. What's LAB BYA? The training, the practice. Yeah, good. And sometimes it means the guidelines. The guidelines. And there's common ones and there's uncommon ones. For example, a common one would be keep a Buddha statue next to your seat when you're teaching a class. And then the uncommon one would be see Emily as a Buddha who can help you take refuge when she tells you to take the garbage out. Okay. Khyam Dor de LAB BYA'I THUM BU'I DANG THUM BU'I MA YIN PA LA GZHIG PA NYAMS PA MED PA means what? I don't know. Don't degenerate from that state of mind. Okay, we're out. Once you understand what refuge really is, don't lose that understanding. Don't lose that understanding. Keep your refuge. All right. Oh, we got to find another victim here. I don't know which one of you guys knows Tibetan. There's this here. The next person who came up here is called Emily Chen. Okay, so please correct your husband. I know it's unusual, but let's try. Yeah, so he says we got to part two. He doesn't tell you what's part two. Grandpa got you part two. DE LA LAS GNYIS LA LANG DGOS LA SBYUG PA You have to make your correct choices between the two kinds of karma, black karma and white karma. There's the root text. By the way, every verse of this poem has the same last two lines, or most of the verses has the same last two lines. Here's the last two lines. Gibson's going to explain them to you guys while Grandpa drinks some coffee. Okay. So Je Tsongkapa explained to everyone that he himself as a yogi, the practitioner, this is the way he practices, or this is the way he does, he did. He urged us, those who want to get liberation, you should follow the same. Yeah, and here he uses the word NGA, right? Which means what? Me. Yeah, hey, this is the way I practiced in my life. You guys should try to do it the same way, okay? And he repeats this over and over again. Then, you know, when you see these lines, you think, oh, Tsongkapa's going to tell us some secrets about his personal life, and he never does. He just reads you the Lam Rim and says, hey, that's what I did. You guys should do it also, okay? All right, here we go. Emily, one more sentence, okay? DE YANG THEG PA LA CI THANG BA'I THEG PA YI PHYIR PA'I THEG PA DU PA'I THEG PA THANG GSUNG YUL RGYANG RDI NYID SGO BA SGO BA YI PHYIR PA'I THEG PA STE Okay, good. So what does PHYIR mean here, Timson? Because, or in general? Generally speaking, there's three kinds of THEG PA, okay? What's THEG PA mean? The faith. Yeah, now I'm going to go deeper, okay? Because I enjoy this. Anybody can tell me the Sanskrit? Shraddha. Shraddha. Shraddha, okay? Shraddha. Now anybody for $100 can tell me the English word that comes from Shraddha. Creed? That's pretty good. I'm looking for a better one. Oh, heart, like hridaya. It's from the Hridayas. Yeah, good, hridaya. And cardiac. Okay, cardiac arrest. Cardiac means your heart, right? So the word Shraddha in Sanskrit, faith, is the basis of the English word cardiac or heart. Heart itself, the word heart comes from Shraddha. And then creed, which means what you believe in, also comes from Shraddha. So the S-H, sh, became ksha, or became ka in English. The C became hard. There are soft C's like C-I-T-Y. And there's hard C's like confusion, C-O-N. C in English can be sa, and C in English can be ka. They all used to be ka, and then they changed to sa. I'm sorry, they used to be sa, and they changed to ka. Shraddha became cardiac, and it means your heart. So, Professor Word, I've got to find some way to stop the money going to Word. But now I'm supporting an extra baby, so maybe it's okay. Okay, so generally speaking, how many kinds of Shraddha, how many kinds of faith, Gibson? Three. Yeah, okay. What are they here? No, the first one is... The first one is called DANG BA'I BDE PA. Okay. The second one is called... YI BYED PA'I BDE PA YI BYED PA'I BDE PA And the third one is called... DUS PA'I BDE PA DUS PA'I BDE PA What's the difference between these three? DUS PA'I BDE PA By the way, we get confused because DANG means and 99% of the time. DANG BA'I BDE PA means you admire somebody. Like, oh, I would like to be like Gibson. He never brags about himself. So, that's called DANG BA'I BDE PA. You admire somebody. YI BYED PA'I BDE PA means what? YI BYED PA also means faith, right? Yeah, or you believe in them. You have faith and you believe in them. And then DUS PA'I BDE PA kind of means I would like to be like Gibson. DANG BA'I BDE PA means I admire Gibson. YI BYED PA'I BDE PA means I believe in Gibson. And DUS PA'I BDE PA means I would like to be like Gibson. He says, in this case, when they talk about faith in the Lam Rim, at this part of the Lam Rim, they're mostly talking about YI BYED PA'I BDE PA. I believe in the Three Jewels. I believe in the Three Jewels. Okay, I got to find another victim here. Five minutes. Five minutes. Five minutes to the rest of my breakfast. Gina? Is that Gina from Brahma Hara? Are you here? She's going to pretend she can't turn on her microphone. Okay, I reached Rob Hagerty. Let's do Hagerty. Okay, Gibson, go for it. KUN TSUL GYI RGYAL BA DE YANG LAS BYAS LA'ANG KUN TSUL GYI... Where is Hagerty? Here. Yeah, RGYAL PA. He said RGYAL BA, which means the Three Jewels are lousy. And it's RGYAL PA. They protect us. Okay, good. Keep going, Gibson. RANG DOG CING GIS LOG TU BU NA MI BYUNG BA'I I don't know what that word is. RGYAL DU. RGYAL DU. Okay, keep going. You're doing a good mistakes, Gibson. RGYAL BU, RGYAL BU DGE BA THANG NA BU MI DGE BA'I LAS BYAS BU THANG BYAS PA CI LTAR YIN LEGS PA SANGS NAS DE BA BYAS BU THANG BYAS PA LA RANG CHA THANG MI DGE BYAS BU THANG BYAS LA DO CHA BYAS PA'I DGOS NAS CHU ZHING TU CHUG PA LA RAG LAS SO Wow, long sentence. Okay. KHO YIN CHOG KYI RGYAL PA How does the Three Jewels protect me? They get me to do RLANG DOR. Give up? Yeah. Take up the good. Take up the two kinds of good. Okay. And they get me to BSAM about LAS. They get me to thinking about the good. Good. Good karma and bad karma. [Speaker 2] Right. [Speaker 1] And then they get me to LANG BA, the good karma. They get me to accumulate the good karma, to take the good karma. Yeah, to start doing it. And they get me to DOR BA DANG MI DGE BA. They get me to give up the un-virtue. Yeah, and then, listen, here's the punchline, right? Here's the important point. If I avoid bad deeds, if I try to keep my vows, then I am taking refuge. Then I am, it's not, DOR BA SA RA RNAMS DGA'I BYA'O MI DANG MA SA RA RNAMS DGA'I BYA'O MI SANGS RGA SA RA RNAMS DGA'I BYA'O MI This is taking refuge, right? It's not that. Okay. If you can chant that Sanskrit or Pali, it doesn't mean you took refuge. Took refuge means you did nice things for other people, and you didn't hurt other people, and that's a sign that you are taking refuge. Then we say you are taking refuge. That's beautiful, right? Last sentence. We got one minute. I'm taking it. Please read fast. DOR NA SANGS RGYA'I RGYIS RGYAS MI RGYAS SOGS RGYA'I MI RGYAS SOGS LAS THAMS CAD BU JI LTAR GSOS PA LA YI PHYIR PA'I DGOS NAS RANG DOG BYED DGOS PA LTON NO Keep going. THAMS CAD TSUN NA MA SOGS LA'O Okay, I'm going to just translate it fast. DOR NA SANGS RGYA'I RGYAS MI RGYAS SOGS LAS THAMS CAD BU JI LTAR GSOS PA LA YI PHYIR PA'I DGOS NAS RANG DOG BYED DGOS PA'I LTON The point is, if you want to take refuge, you have to be doing nice things for other people, and you have to stop hurting other people. Then the last part of the... What is that? That's my alarm, Nick? I don't know, but... [Speaker 2] I don't know. It's beautiful. [Speaker 1] I think we should have that. That's a good idea, actually. LHAG MA BYED TSUN SOGS What's this LA'O, Gibson? I'll give you $1. It's easy, and I don't need to explain here. I'll give you two choices for LA'O. I'm going to increase it to $2, okay? Does it mean this is easy to do? Or does it mean those last two lines are easy? I don't have to explain them. The second one. The last two lines. Okay, good. Okay, don't forget to collect your $2. That's easy for me to give you. All right, good job, Gibson. I'll be honest. I thought you were a new translator. I gave you an easy book. Now I found out you're a very good translator, so the next book is going to be difficult. But we have to finish... It's important in Buddhism to finish what you promised. So we'll finish this book, but then I'm going to give you a headache, a second headache. All right. Thank you, Geshe-la. Okay, good job, you guys. I'll see you tonight. Oh, one quick announcement. Thank you so much, Geshe-la. Stick around for yoga. We have a class in 15 minutes here with Uta, so have a break. And if you can, take her class. She's a wonderful yoga teacher. If you can't make it because you need to go to bed, understandably, and you don't feel like doing yoga at midnight, you can come back at 4 p.m. Arizona time and do yoga with Anatole, which promises to be an extremely fun and probably somewhat challenging class. Anatole's been posting videos online of yoga practices that are really awesome, and he always has nice backgrounds for extra fun. Cool. Thank you, Geshe-la. Thanks, everybody. Thank you, guys. Go back to bed, all you Sedona people. That's the plan. All right. Say hi to Amalie. I know she's probably feeling older today, but that's okay. I can hear her in there. She sounds very mature. All right. See you, guys.
