[Speaker 1]
Okay, so we are talking about klesha, and klesha means negative emotion, and we reached a place in the jing where they are talking about what can a negative emotion do to you? Then we talked about your enemies in this life, okay, people who don't like you. Maybe they can cause you trouble online, or maybe they can burn down your house, and they can hit you, but those other people, they don't have power to take you to the hell.

They don't have power to make you an animal, but your anger, it has this power. Okay, so all of us have some people in our life, they gave us trouble, but no one can give you trouble like klesha. Klesha can put the seed in your mind.

After you die, you go to the hell, okay? No human being can send you there. Only your seeds can send you there.

So, we are ... if you want the text, you guys up there, dashik d-g-r-a-z-h-i-g. There you go.

dashi la di le tuwa me te. So, no human enemy has this power. ta melpay drawa par ten na trowa shi shing.

Then a normal enemy, if you go to them and you say, you know, it's uncomfortable for me to have an enemy. Let's make peace between us. You can negotiate with the enemy, and they will relax a little bit, they won't hurt you.

nyo mong la par tung kyang tsul nupay che. But the more friendly you are towards your klesha, the more trouble they will give you. So, don't be nice to this enemy, this klesha.

ngun chen na me kyi mer sekpa yin kyi dukngel ji nye chik nyongwa tham chen nyong mongpay che shing. In the past, in the past lives, we have gone to the hells many times. We have been dog many times.

Who made that? Klesha. Your klesha.

Nobody else can do it. chen che kyang nyongwa chepa sok korwa la duk du juk khen nyongmongpa yinpe. So, in the future, possible to go to animal, possible become go to hell, it's all made by the klesha.

Now, something interesting. If you get angry at other person, this is a special bad seed. After you die, it can take you to the hell.

You can become an animal. But, but, if you learn the pen very well, the seed to go to the hell and to become animal, it kills it. Okay?

It will lose the power. So, my dad got a cancer. He's not interested in religion.

His whole life. Then, he's going to die very soon. This is about 25 years ago.

And I want to help him, to help him not to go to the hell. So, what did I do? By the way, he's a very angry person sometimes.

I know he has klesha hell seeds. How can I help him? I taught him the pen, just before he died.

Then, that will protect him. Then, Geshe-la, how, how it protects? The seed cannot open properly, if you understand the pen.

We have a Diamond Mountain director. His name is Michael, the old director. His wife's name is Melissa.

And I don't know why, they didn't ask my permission, but she got pregnant. And, just kidding. Then, they went home to see her parents.

She was 26 weeks pregnant. On the airplane, she start to go into labor. Okay?

They land quickly. Then, she has a baby. Then, it's about 10 weeks early.

And, it survived. Okay? You have to put special oxygen for eight or nine weeks.

And, that baby survived. Now, it's a beautiful baby. Everything's fine.

If it was two weeks, yeah, if it was two weeks earlier, two weeks earlier, there's no lung. Then, baby has to die. 24 weeks?

The baby must die. When you study the pen, it takes the lungs out of the bad seeds. Okay?

And, they will come out. You will have some small problems. But, they will die very quickly, like the baby who came too early.

The pen takes the lungs out of the seed before it's born. Okay. So, when you understand kongshin, it forces your seeds to open too early.

Premature bad seed babies. Then, you ... Jingang Jing say, you'll get a headache for one day, instead of car accident where you die.

Why Geshe-la keeps repeating the pen every time you see him? Because you got angry since the last time I saw you. Then, I'm trying to kill those seeds, or make them come out too early.

Okay, Geshe ben kyi nga ni sem kyi kar go na, nyenpa duk tung shik sung ne, dupa minpa shen me. Then, there was a Geshe 1,000 years ago. His name was Ben, but not the same Ben who played guitar.

Maybe it is the same Ben. We should give him a hand. Where are you?

Thank you. Geshe Ben, now we change your name. Okay.

Then, somebody asked him, what do you enjoy doing? He said, I'm a guard at the gate. I guard the gate of my mind.

Okay, and before that, it said, when you have a person who wants to hit you, so, me and my brothers, three brothers, we used to fight all the time. When you meet the other person who's angry and wants to hit you, don't stand like this. Don't stand like this.

Just show the shoulder. Don't show the whole body. What's it mean?

Protect your mind. Okay, protect your mind. Before the anger comes, protect your mind.

Okay, go to Bali. Study the jing. Eat good food.

Do yoga. Do your meditation. Then you are healthy.

Then you are strong. It's like to show the shoulder to the enemy. Then anger won't come.

If your basic mental state is strong, you won't get angry. So, he said, a thousand years ago, the Geshe's, show the klesha your shoulder. Show the other people your palm.

It means help other people. Give help to other people. But don't be friendly to your negative mind.

That's a real enemy. That enemy doesn't do nice thing if you do something nice for them. Okay, ko dim na nga yang dim, ko lun na nga yang lun.

When your mind starts to get a little bit angry, then you should be more tough. And when your mind is relaxed, you can relax. So, watch your mind.

The mind is your enemy. Your own mind is your enemy. If the mind starts to get crazy, then you have to be like a warrior and fight with your mind.

Those people who do three-year retreat, those people who have a wife and kids, right, Edmond? It's a fight. Whole day.

Sometimes you feel upset. Sometimes the kids are yelling. Then you have to fight.

With who? With your own mind. Real Buddhist person.

They are not like this all the time. They are fighting with their mind. Okay?

That's a real Buddhist person. If you do this for many years, then later you are ... Okay?

Fight here. Fight here. Okay, next section.

How does klesha make karma? How does klesha make karma? When you get upset at your husband, or you get upset at your kids, how does it make karma?

This is the next subject. NYID PA DE LAS SOGS TSUL NI LAS LA SEMS PA'I LAS DANG SANGS PA'I LAS GNYIS All karma is two kinds. One is thinking, and the second is what you do after thinking.

So, thinking itself is raw karma. Then talking, doing things, this comes from thinking. So, in the scripture, it says thinking karma and thought karma.

DANG PO SEMS PA'I LAS NAS What is thinking karma? KUN LTUS LAS. KUN LTAS LAS means Abhidharma Samuccaya.

It's a special Abhidharma. And he make a quotation. SEMS PA'I GANG ZHES NA, SEMS DNGOS PAR DU BYED PA'I GNYIS KYI LAS STE What is karma?

Karma is thinking. What's thinking? Anytime your thoughts come together and you think about something, that's a thinking karma.

And then you will do three kinds of karma. RGYAS BA DANG MI RGYAS BA DANG LUS MA BSTAN PA RNAMS LAS LA SEMS DU PAR BYED PA'I LAS BYED NO You will do good karma. Or you will do bad karma.

Or you will do neutral karma. Okay? You are sitting there.

You are drinking some coffee. You're not thinking about much. That's called neutral karma.

What's the example I gave for ... Where's my money? Where's my money Jasmine?

She didn't give me any money. Maybe I have to use my own money. Why don't you give me a thousand?

These students are expensive. MAN MAN DANG, MAN MAN DANG. Okay, give me MAN MAN DANG.

Okay, I was going to ask you a question. Hundred dollar question. Okay, Xiaoping you ready?

Hundred dollar question. Okay, you guys keep it.

[Speaker 2]
You guys keep it. You keep it.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, hundred dollar question. Good karma definition, it gives you some happy results. Okay?

In the western countries, we say good and bad. Good deed and bad deed. Good deed and a sin.

Okay? Then in Buddhism, we say good karma and bad karma. So, hundred dollar question.

You guys ready with the money? Okay, hundred dollars. What's the definition of good karma?

In Buddhism, what's the definition of good karma? You choose. Go to the back.

Those people are also people. Yeah, yeah, right, right, right. Thinking about good things.

No. No. What's the definition of good karma?

When it comes back, you feel happy. Perfect. Perfect.

Wait, wait, wait, wait. That's a two hundred dollar answer. Two, two.

Okay, good. Now, ready? For zero dollars.

What's the definition of bad karma? This is easy. Who wants to make zero dollars?

Okay, okay. Definition of bad karma. Mental affliction.

No. One more, one more. What's the definition of bad karma?

When it comes back, it's suffering, it's disaster, it's unhappiness. Exactly. That's a hundred dollar answer.

That's a hundred dollar answer. Change, change. Alright, nice.

Perfect answer. Now, a hundred dollars more. You are very expensive.

Give me example of result of neutral karma. Hmm, hmm, hmm. A hundred dollars.

Easy, an easy hundred dollars. Give me example of a result of neutral karma. Give me example of a result of neutral karma.

That is which cannot bring good, cannot bring bad.

[Speaker 2]
Neutral.

[Speaker 1]
Like the color of the floor. A hundred dollars. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay, so state of mind is raw karma, and then it makes you to do those three kinds of karma. And that Abhidharma book, by the way, is one of the main mind-only books. Special, special mind-only Abhidharma.

per na tsik dzuk tabu ma nyam du, yo war chepay sem dang So, for example, when your husband call you phantom, one second before that, his mind think, let's call, let's call the wife phantom, let's call the wife phantom. Then mind is like the car driver, mind decide, let's call the wife a phantom. Then the mind go like this, open the mouth, take out the tongue, then say phantom.

Okay, who pushed the mind? Who pushed the mouth? Yeah, the mind comes first.

So, I just made two bad karmas. Okay, the thinking is a bad karma. Then the thinking open the mouth, open mouth, put the teeth on the lip, push out the air, phantom.

Okay, your mind is running the machine. If the car hits you, break your leg, do you sue the car or do you sue the driver? Yeah, you sue the driver.

Okay, the mind is the driver. The mouth is the car. Who hurt the wife?

The mouth. But who driving the mouth? It's the mind.

So, this is the main karma. SANGS PA'I LAS NI SEMS PA DE'I KUN NAS BLANGS PA'I LUS SNGAGS KYI LAS RNAMS TE RDZOD LAS LAS NI SEMS PA DANG DE CHE SEMS PA NYID KYIS LAS YIN NO DE SKYES LUS DANG SNGAGS KYI LAS ZHIG GSUNGS PA LTAR DO We talked about that already. The mind drives the car.

The mouth is the car. So, the main karma maker is the mind. And the car makes a little bit.

So, we divided karma into three kinds. Good karma. Bad karma.

And color of the floor karma. Neutral. We don't care about the color.

Now, you want to go deeper? Okay, those big jin, they also divide three kinds of karma. But deeper.

It's called SON NAM, which is SON NAM's name. Which means good karma. SON NAM MA YIN PA, not good karma.

SON NAM MA YIN PA is not good karma. And MI YOD BA. Say MI YOD BA.

MI YOD BA MI YOD BA MI YOD BA means not moving karma. So, if you want to go deeper, there's three kinds of karma. You can say bad karma.

Good karma. And not moving karma. Okay, what's it mean?

We have to talk about it. First one is easy. CHEN GYIS DRIN GNYEN GYI SANGS PA'I SOGS CHOS SOGS KYI LAS ZAG PA NI SON NAM MA YIN PA'I LAS DE'I SDI'I NGYEN SONG DU SKYE BAR BYED What is bad karma?

So, you are thinking about something about this life. Oh, I like to have a hamburger. Okay, I will go to McDonald's.

I will eat a hamburger. I have a Tibetan friend. They eat meat.

Then I said, why you eat meat? I like it. But it seems bad to me to eat meat.

He said, no, no Geshe-la, it's okay. I don't go to the grocery store with a knife and look for the cow and kill the cow. I don't go to kill the cow.

I go to buy the meat. It's not the same. Big difference, right?

To stab a cow, that I will not do. But I just go to the store. I just buy some already killed cow.

So, there's no problem. Then I waited two days, three days. I met them again.

Then I played some music for them on a very, very good stereo. You know those little ones, Bose speaker. Best sound.

Then I said, listen to this sound. Then I played a song for them. He said, wow, that's a good quality.

Then I said, yeah, yeah. They said, I want one like that. How much it cost?

Fifteen dollars. Wow! JBL cost $120.

Bose is better quality. Only $15? Where you buy it?

I said, you buy it in the open market in New York. Like there's an open market near here. In New York.

The open market is the thief's market. Okay? They steal things from people.

Then you can go to the open market, you can buy the best speaker for $15. Then I said, I bought it in the open market. What?

You bought a stolen thing? Geshe-la, I thought you're a good person. I said, yeah, you think it's bad to steal things?

To buy stolen things? He said, oh, very bad. That person, the owner, it hurt them.

Someone steal from them without their permission. Then you buy very cheap. You are hurting the owner of the stereo.

Then I said, okay, watch. Sachi! This is Geshe.

Sachi! Sachi! It means, I got you.

He said, what do you mean you got me? I said, when you go to the store to buy meat, you are buying stolen property. Okay?

That cow didn't offer their body to the storm. Someone stole their body. Even if you say, I didn't kill the cow, but you are going to the thief market.

You buying stolen goods. Sachi! Sachi!

Sachi means, I got you. Okay, now I caught you. You're also making bad karma.

At least, when you eat meat, you are buying stolen property. Got it? So, anyway, it's killing.

Alright. So, if you do that, that's example of a bad karma. For this life taste, you buy the meat at McDonald's or KFC.

KFC kill 80 billion chickens in China every year. Why people get diabetes from that meat? Why people get a heart problem from the ...

Why they get heart attack from the meat? The meat is full of bad karma. Okay?

That's why it cholesterol, give you high blood pressure. It's not the fat in the meat. It's the killing and the pain in the meat.

It hurts your body. Okay. All my friends from Princeton, I became vegetarian 40 years ago.

Then they told me, Oh, Geshe-la, if you don't eat protein, you won't get healthy. You will have health problem. You ready?

Stand up. 67. No meat for 40 years.

All my friends say, Oh, Geshe-la, you will get sick. No protein. No protein.

Those friends are all dead. Who got the protein. Okay, understand?

They got heart attack. They got diabetes. I'm having fun with yoga.

Okay? You don't need it. That's a lie.

Write letter to Khenpoji. Please sell the better salad. Then I will come to Khenpoji.

Don't take your kids there. They will get diabetes. My friend in diamond business, she loves Khenpoji.

She goes every week two, three times to Khenpoji. Then one day, Oh, by the way, she got diabetes. One day, she don't come to work.

I'm waiting for her. We work together for 20 years. She didn't come to work.

Then the husband came. I said, where's your wife? Oh, she's in the hospital.

Why? They cut her leg off today. This is the blessing of Khenpoji.

Okay, understand? Then she came back to work in a wheelchair. Later they cut the second leg.

One week later, the husband come to the company. Oh, she died. Then I thought, No, the doctor took off her second leg.

She doesn't have to die. Then the husband go like this. I think it means he helped her to die.

So don't tell me I need protein from Khenpoji. Okay, don't let your kids do that. Okay?

Alright. So, sunam. Sunam, merit?

Merit. Okay, if you help other people, because you want a better rebirth in this world, that's called sunam, special kind of good karma. Now, some people, they want to go higher.

They want to go like temporary heaven. That's called unmoving karma. That kind of high good karma, you can only make in the meditation.

Which meditation? The first half of the lion's dance. Listen to the air conditioning.

Go into the heart. Go into the crystal. Turn your mind off.

That's a special kind of good karma. Why? When you're doing that meditation, you don't have time to lie to people or kill animals.

Okay? When your pigu is on the meditation seat, you don't have chance to kill the cow or yell at your kids. Then by accident, you will make good karma.

Okay, understand? Now, is that a good goal? No.

Temporarily, you go up. You become, you know those superheroes, like Superman, Thor, Iron Man, Wonder Woman. If you do this good karma in the meditation, you go to those places.

Those movie makers, we say, oh, they are so creative. They make all the superheroes. They don't make the superheroes.

They have little memory of the past life. They used to be Thor. They used to be Wonder Woman.

And because of that, they can create these movies. Oh, Geshe-la, I think I will make this karma. I will focus on the lion's dance first half.

Ocean. Sky. Turn off the mind.

Then after I die, I will be like Thor. Me and John Brady want to go there. Thor has hair.

Okay? No, it's dangerous, okay? When you, to be Thor, to be Wonder Woman, you're burning all your credit card, debit card.

You will burn your good karma card. Very fast. So, it's not a good goal.

Never stop halfway through the lion's dance. The first half, it won't help you. It's just exercise your mind.

You must go to the past life. You must do. Geshe-la, I don't have time.

Okay, then skip the first half. On the working day, start from the past life. Don't do all those eight steps.

Then on the weekend, do the whole thing. By the way, tomorrow, I will make recording of the whole lion's dance. Before I will let you know, you can put your cell phone on the stage.

You can record it. Then at home, I know, at home, at home you can play it. Once or twice a week, you can meditate along with me.

Also, it's good for fundraising. Three or four people will leave the cell phone here. Me and Jasmine, we will sell it.

We'll give all the money to John Brady. Just kidding. Maybe better you hold your cell phone in your seat.

Okay, but tomorrow we will do. Okay, so those are ... Now, that karma from meditation, good karma to go to temporary heaven, we call not moving.

Then what's the meaning? So, other kinds of karma in the Abhidharma system, let's say you make a karma to be born as a dog. Then those dogs have special mating season.

I don't know what's a month. They can only have sex during certain months. So, Abhidharma say, if you're supposed to be born as a dog, but the dogs are not having sex this month, that karma will move and you'll be born as a fish or a bird.

So, that lower karma is called can move. But karma for Thor, it will never change. It will always make Thor.

Okay, that's the old explanation. It's Abhidharma. Usually Abhidharma not 100% correct.

Actually, if you have a karma to be born as a dog, and there's no dog born in this world at this time, you will be born in a different world where they have dogs. But this is Abhidharma system. Okay.

,GSANG SNGAGS SOGS KYI NUS PA'I PHYI YOD, ,BAR BU NAS RGYUR TE, ,DE'I NGOR SKYE THUB PA BYUNG BA LTA BU YIN, It is possible also to change people's death karma. There's a special ceremony. I talked about it.

It's called chang chok. Okay, and after the person die, for 49 days, we can do special ceremony. You can also do.

You can do it yourself. I always hire some well-trained monk to do the ceremony. I will make them offering.

I talked to them yesterday. Actually, I called them yesterday. Some people brought me the names of their relatives who died recently.

But if you understand how it works, it won't be superstition. How to help the person who died? So, when you die, in your mind, there's like one million seeds waiting.

Then my teacher, we lived together for 30 years. He's the abbot of Serame Monastery, 3,000 monks. Best monastery in this world.

Now you are also member of this monastery. If you study with the Serame teacher, you also are Serame. So, you have to be loyal.

No, every monastery is good. But you will have a special connection. So, we will call them.

Please make prayer for this person. And if you want to give me the name, even they passed away 2 years ago, 3 years ago, we will do prayers for them.

[Speaker 2]
I need the name.

[Speaker 1]
I need the photo. I need the birthday and place. And I need death day and place.

These four things. Then we can do special jang chok ritual. But you can also do almost the same thing.

Yourself. So, for example, there's a woman in California. Jigme knows her, right?

Is it Pat? Pat? Yeah, her daughter died.

She's our friend. And her daughter died. Then, of course she feels, it's very bad when the daughter dies before the mother.

She almost go crazy. Then she asked me, what can I do Geshe-la? I said, talk to her.

She said, not possible, she's dead. No, no, she's in Bardo. Those people after they die for a while, they have special power.

They can see you. They can hear you. They're very frustrated people.

Sometimes they don't know they died. So, next day you are having breakfast. And they will come to breakfast.

They say, good morning. No one talk to them. I said, good morning.

Everyone just, oh, he died. Then the dead person, it's like they are behind some glass. If you learn to see dead people, they are banging on the glass.

They are trying to get your attention. Everyone just talking, oh, he died yesterday. She said, I'm not dead, I'm here.

But they cannot hear this person. Now, interesting thing. We cannot hear them, but they can hear us.

So, this woman whose daughter died, she asked me, what can I do? How my teacher taught me, great, great Lama. So, monk, we are not allowed to watch television.

Three thousand monks in the monastery. Only one has television. That's the boss of the monastery.

Then he's supposed to see what's the news on the outside world. Then if it's important for the monks, he will tell them the news. Then we don't have to watch TV.

So, I didn't have a TV for 60 years. Then one day he called me, come quick, come quick, watch TV. I said, what?

He said, watch, watch, I will show you. They are having a lottery. It's very famous in America.

The lottery is famous because you can make 50 million dollars in one minute. Second famous thing, the lady who choose the number, extremely beautiful, extremely short skirt, all the men like to watch the lottery. So, my Lama called me, come upstairs, come upstairs.

What, what? He said, watch, watch. Then that lady come out.

And she spin the wheel. Then she put her arm inside, and she choose the number. Then you can make 50 million dollars.

Then my Lama said, that's it. I said, what? What my Lama sees when he looks at beautiful woman is unbelievable.

He said, look at that. Wow. I said, then in my mind I have a doubt.

He's looking at the beautiful woman. I said, what's the wow? He said, this exactly same as to die.

I'm like, what? She pick the number from thousand number. This is perfect example for death.

He's not watching the beautiful woman. He's watching death. I'm like, what?

Your mind does that. After you die, it's a lottery. You have thousand thousand seeds.

One will control the next life. So, very dangerous moment. For example, they say never put the cold, cold air conditioning on the dying person.

Very dangerous. They will feel cold. Already they feel cold.

Because the blood is stopping. Then in their mind, they will say, I hope I can go to hot place. And sometimes they pick the wrong seed.

They will go to the hot hell. So, they say be careful. When the person is dying, room should be peaceful.

Not too cold, not too hot. People shouldn't make big noise. Don't grab the body.

Everything peaceful. Then they will choose the good karma. And during the bardo, talk to them.

You cannot hear them, but they can hear you. So, at the breakfast table the next morning, oh, dad died last night. Yeah, very sad.

But our father, he did many good things. I remember when I was a kid, I got a cut. And then dad took good care of me.

He worked so hard for us. So, it's very important, at least two months, talk about that person's good deeds. Then they can hear you.

Yeah. I remember I did many good things. Then they will choose a good seed.

And then that one send them to a good life. So, it's a very sweet practice. After somebody dies, at least two months, talk to them.

They can hear you. And they are very upset no one can hear them. Then go to your bedroom, close the door, talk to them.

I miss you. I think about you. I love you very much.

And I remember the many good things you did. And of course they did some bad things. Don't talk about it.

They will choose the ... The lady in the mini skirt will choose the wrong number. Oh, dad, you did many good things.

I remember. So, anyway, we taught our friend, whose daughter died, she did this practice. After seven weeks, she told me, should I stop?

I said, no. Why stop? You can do kafei minxia, about your daughter's good karma.

And keep talking to her. That was 20 years ago. She still does it every day.

She talks to her daughter for about half hour. Now, I suggest you do it in your bedroom. Don't do it in the bus on the way to work.

People will put you in the crazy house. Okay. Do it at home, when you're alone.

But it's a very sweet practice. Then that karma becomes yowa. That karma can change, because of the talk.

Okay, got it? That's the essence of chang chok. So, when you make donation to the monks, they do the prayers.

Actually, you can do it yourself. Your family going to listen to you more than they listen to the monks. Okay.

So, it helps to have a piece of their favorite clothing. And it will attract the spirit. So, if they have favorite scarf, favorite shirt, their mala, then hold it.

And then they will come. Okay? All right.

DRONG RIN PO'I PHYIR, RA DANG GIS RGYAS NYAN THAMS CAD, RGYUD TZAD GCIG TU DRIN NA, ZHIG NAS RGYUD TZA CHES PA LA PHAN PA'I, KHYAD YOD CHES PAR, BAR GSUM PA LTAR RGYUD TZAD GCIG PA'I, RGYUD TZAD ZHIN PO'I PHAR DO YOD PA LA PHAN CHE BAR GSUNG This is a special instruction from the student of Atisha. His name is Drom Tun Che. He's very famous in Tibet because he never became a monk.

He was a businessman and he became a very great teacher. So, he's a good example for us. You don't have to be a monk.

You don't have to be none. Drom Tun Che, one of the greatest teachers of the last thousand years, he's a businessman and he became a great teacher and a great businessman. Price Waterhouse Lama.

Price Waterhouse Lama. This famous accounting company. My friend works there.

Can become great lama. Okay. So, he said, of course, it's very good if you alone, you talk to your relative who died.

But much more powerful if several family members sit together. Like after death, maybe once a week for two months. Okay?

Family sit together at the kitchen table and talk to the grandma who passed away. Hey, you remember she did this great thing?

[Speaker 2]
Yeah, yeah.

[Speaker 1]
And she did this other great thing. Don't talk about the problem. Okay?

Talk, talk. Wow, you remember she did ... Every time you talk about something good she did, when she hears it, her arm is going into the lottery here to pick the good seed.

Okay, that seed is very important. Alright. We have about 15 minutes.

Can I just continue? Okay? Alright?

[Speaker 2]
Okay.

[Speaker 1]
No break. If you have emergency, just go, okay? Coffee yin go.

Okay? If you have the go problem, go the wen ti. Go wen ti?

Go the wen ti. Problem of the result. Okay.

Okay, you can go. Otherwise we finish in 15 minutes. So, generally that meditation karma, it will not shift.

It will go to the result. Okay, I'm going to ... Then there's a quotation from Abhidharma.

SON NAMS SDUG BSAM RGYAS BA'I LAS MI YOR GANG MA LAS SKYES PA GANG ZHIG SA RNAMS DE DAG TU LAS RNAMS MIN PHYIR MI YOD PHYIR ZHES GSUNGS That's a famous quotation from Abhidharma. RNAMS RDZOGS GSUM GYIS GANG RUNG GYIS MA SEMS PA'I LAS BYIN DAG ZHIG SAGS KYANG KHOR BA'I RGYUD YIN ZHING Then Geshe-la, I don't want to make karma to suffer more. I don't want to go to a better life where I die.

I don't want to die again. I don't want to get old again. Then how to make the unworldly karma?

How to make nirvana karma? Okay, very famous. Where's that money, honey?

Oh, you sure? How much we got? Okay.

RNAMS RDZOGS RNAMS GSUM RNAMS RDZOGS RNAMS GSUM There are three kinds of karma take you to nirvana and Buddhahood, not to another dying karma. So, RNAMS RDZOGS RNAMS GSUM It means three principal paths, which in Buddhism means ... Wait, don't answer the question before I answer.

Don't answer the question before I answer. I hate it. People raise their hand before I ask the question.

Stop reading my mind. No, I think you're correct. So, three people have to tell me one of the three principal paths.

If you use it, you go to nirvana and Buddhahood. Now, if one person give me three, I will give you nothing. Okay, I want three different people.

Okay, microphone person, up to you. I have a suggestion. I have a suggestion.

Choose the people who will give you $50 after the class. Just kidding. Okay, go ahead.

Now, oh, wait, wait. I need the three principal paths, one by one. Each person only one path.

I don't want just the name. I want a little bit of explanation. Okay, here we go.

Okay, let's start. Let's start. Thank you.

The first one is renunciation. The number one is renunciation? Nice.

What is renunciation? Renunciation is to jump out of this vicious circle. It means like jumping out of this circle.

Negative circle.

[Speaker 2]
Cool, okay, $100.

[Speaker 1]
Second one. You choose, you choose. Direct perception of emptiness.

That's number three, but I still give you $100. Bodhichitta. Oh, second one.

Okay, I still give you $100. Okay, second path. We call old lady's teeth.

One here, one here, one missing. What's number two? What is bodhichitta?

It's love. What kind of love? Some people love alcohol.

Love without discrimination? Good, for all beings. Okay, good.

SEMS BSKYED PA NI GZHAN BSTAN CHOS YANG DAG RDZOGS PA'I BYANG CHUB BSDOD For the benefit of all beings, I vow to become a Buddha. Definition of bodhichitta. I want to become Buddha.

So I can help the other people. We finished, we finished. There's only three, not four.

Don't try to cheat me. Now, listen. Anytime you do karma, without one of those, just without any one of those three, without any of them.

You can have one, it's okay. Then that's a karma for samsara. That's karma to stay in this wheel of life.

Everything you do, try to have one of those three thoughts. Number one, I want to get out of this death. Number two, I want to help everybody get out of this death.

Number three, I want to see kongshin directly. Okay. NGAN BYUNG SOGS KYIS MA ZIN NA CHOS BYA NYAMS DU TSE LOD DANG NAS RIGS CHOS DU BZHIN NAS BSGOMS TE DES KYANG Okay, suppose you don't have those three thoughts.

I want to see kongshin. I want to help all the people in the world. I'm tired of this kind of life.

Then if you don't know those three, RIGS CHOS DU BZHIN NAS BSGOMS TE If you go for a three-year retreat, and you meditate for 1,000 days, BSTAB LAS NA BSAM GZUGS KYI RGYUD CHE PA LAS LHAG MI'ONG BA'I CHOS CAN PAR MDON NA SA LA MA NO BA'I DANG LA TSUL BA GAL CHES GSUNGS nothing will happen. Many people waste their time for a three-year retreat. Sit for three years.

Do mantra. Then no big result. Then you sit in your job at the famous accounting company.

But you do have those three thoughts. It's much better than a three-year retreat. Okay?

Alright, got it? Okay. Of course, a retreat with the three thoughts is even better.

Okay. GSUNGS PA'I PHYI PO BA DANG, SNYING MTSAMS SBYOR BA'I TSUL LA GSUNGS LAS Now we're going to talk about death. How do you die?

And how do you go to the next life? Okay, this is the next subject. We only have eight minutes.

You are Buddhists. You did death meditation. So, I ask you a question.

We have eight minutes. Should we stop? No.

If you're going to die, eight minutes is a long time. Eight minutes is very valuable. Let's use the eight minutes.

Okay, okay. Here we go. DANG PO PHYI BA JI LTAR BYUNG TSUL NI So, let's talk about death.

Oh Geshe-la, don't talk about death. It makes me upset. I feel depressed.

I don't know China. In America, it's not polite to talk about death. And when you meet your friends, if you want to become super unpopular, you go to lunch with your friends, and you say, hey, let's talk about death.

And everybody's like, whoa! But it's important to talk about it. Like you are going on a trip to Bali.

This lady called Jasmine, she said, oh, come to Bali. Then you don't know what's Bali. You better check on your phone.

What's Bali? Where's Bali? Is the weather good?

Do they have tasty food? When you know you're going on a trip, you're stupid if you don't check about that place. Maybe Bali is Jasmine's word for Harbin.

One Chinese organizer, they told me, Geshe-la, you want to go to Harbin? I said, yeah, sure, I will go anyway. Okay, let's go.

In the winter, they took me to Harbin. Harbin is on Siberia border, China side. I went there with my friend from Singapore.

The hotel, they don't have a restaurant, but he refused to go outside. He didn't eat for two days. There's a pizza restaurant across the street.

He said, Geshe-la, I'm not going outside again. It's so cold. Later, my Harbin friend, Geshe-la, did you bring your stick?

I said, what? You didn't bring stick? I said, you didn't tell me to bring a stick.

Geshe-la, never come to Harbin without a stick. In the winter. Especially the boy.

I said, why? So cold. When you pee-pee, it freezes.

Before it hit the toilet, then you have to break with the stick. Okay? Now, in the future, someone say, let's go to Harbin.

You better check your phone.

[Speaker 2]
Where is Harbin?

[Speaker 1]
What's the temperature? If you know you're going on a trip, you are crazy if you don't check that place. What trip are we all going on in our life?

To die. Okay? So, you better check.

Maybe worse than Harbin. I mean, probably not worse. But, if you know you're going on a trip, and you don't check that place, you are crazy.

So, we're going to talk about how to die. And it's very useful. And it's very cool.

And it makes you more relaxed. Then you don't worry. Oh, what's Harbin?

What's it like? If we talk about death, then you're ready. Then you know what to take in your suitcase.

Where's your suitcase? Hundred dollars. He got it already.

Come on. Your mind. Yeah.

So, how to get this suitcase ready? Other suitcases you cannot take. Only this one you can take.

So, we have to talk about how to pack for death. And it's not depressing talk. Everyone in the world avoiding this talk.

You are special people. You want to plan ahead. You want to be ready.

Okay, so we'll do that in the next class. Okay, thank you. We have mandala offering.

Final mandala offering. This is by Lisa Lee. She's ...

That's not Lisa. Oh, hi. She got a nice haircut.

She's come to the Sedona College many times. She's a great DiamondX teacher. And she's also a great financial officer.

And thank you. Alright, here we go.

[Speaker 2]
Thank you. Thank you.
