[Speaker 1]
We should do some Lam Rim. So, we're going to start the class. We are in the middle of the Lam Rim.

Oh, sorry, Sunim.

[Speaker 2]
I'm sorry, we're going to do Mandala.

[Speaker 1]
Sunim is from Germany. She works in one of the largest computer chip companies in the world. They make the computer chips for the credit cards.

So, she's a good person to make friends with her. For many years, she's the boss of a very secret credit card chip company. And now she agreed to be director of our retreat center, Diamond Mountain.

[Speaker 2]
Chant.

[Speaker 1]
Chant.

[Speaker 2]
Chant.

[Speaker 1]
Thank you. In Shenzhen, we just finished the first China Soft Power program. An 18-month program, mostly for business owners.

Some of those guys are here. Can you stand up?

[Speaker 2]
China Soft Power.

[Speaker 1]
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you. So, I'm teaching for about 40 years.

Many kinds of people. Many, many countries. After 40 years, I realized something.

People like Sunim, who worked in a company, she was one of the bosses of the company. That hard work, and thinking, thinking, thinking, and the China Soft Power guys are like that. They are very good meditators.

And they understand this dharma much faster. So, I encourage you, don't think you have to go live in a cave if you want to be a meditator. I tried to live in a cave.

I found a nice cave.

[Speaker 2]
In the forest, near my house in Arizona.

[Speaker 1]
And I sat in the cave. Three things happened. Number one, very dangerous poison snake came.

If they bite you, you will die. There's no medicine. That first guest came to the cave.

[Speaker 2]
Then I got a big stick, I pushed him out.

[Speaker 1]
Then I started meditating again. Night came. Then I heard.

Then I think, oh, this cave already has an owner. It makes sense, right? Big cave for people is a very comfortable house for a wolf.

[Speaker 2]
Then I go, and he said, he thinks, oh, must be a bigger wolf.

[Speaker 1]
Then he ran away. Then I'm like, this cave is difficult. Then I meditate again.

Spider.

[Speaker 2]
Hundred spiders.

[Speaker 1]
Then I said, I'm a big meditator. I don't care spider. I won't break my meditation.

[Speaker 2]
Spider also found a cave.

[Speaker 1]
Then I left the cave in one night. I went back to my home. The home has a very good thing.

Front door.

[Speaker 2]
You can close the door. No snake. No wolf.

No spider.

[Speaker 1]
But, if you have a house, you have to pay. To pay, you have to have a job. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
In my long life teaching, I found out those people who have a regular job, they have responsibility. They have to think in the job.

[Speaker 1]
They have to be tough in the job.

[Speaker 2]
When they feel tired, they still have to go.

[Speaker 1]
Those people, family, those people are strong meditators. Then the person who doesn't have job, they are eating from their mom's money or their father's money. They don't have strong mind.

[Speaker 2]
So, I encourage you.

[Speaker 1]
Like, Sunim is a good example. She's a very good meditator. And a strong meditator.

And she works in a big company. She took a big responsibility. In my 40 years teaching experience, those people are better meditators.

So, I encourage you to have a real life. If you want family, have a good family. Your mind will be stronger.

Okay? Alright. Like China Soft Power.

Okay. Subject for today and tonight.

[Speaker 2]
Klesha. Negative thought.

[Speaker 1]
How it comes in the mind. RANG RGYUN BSTAN PA'I GANG ZAG GI ZHES RGYUD MA SHES BAR BYED PA'I SEMS YID MA SHES BAR BYED PA'I SEMS BYUNG SEMS PA NYON MONGS KYI TSE NYID Definition of pleasure. If you have one in your mind, it upsets peace of mind.

Mind cannot be peaceful. RANG RGYUN BSTAN PA'I GANG ZAG GI ZHES RGYUD MA SHES BAR BYED PA'I SEMS YID NYON MONGS KYI TSE NYID Definition of pleasure.

[Speaker 2]
When that thought comes in your mind, you feel upset. You feel off balance.

[Speaker 1]
Then we are studying six reasons why pleasure comes in your mind. One is the real reason. Then five supporting reasons.

[Speaker 2]
Then five supporting conditions. What's the real reason for a tree? Seed.

Tree seed.

[Speaker 1]
What's the supporting condition? Water. Fertilizer.

[Speaker 2]
Sunlight. Pleasure is the same as a tree.

[Speaker 1]
Pleasure has a main cause and pleasure has five supporting causes. That lady in the kitchen, she got upset at her husband. What was the main cause?

When she yelled at her kids. Yelling at the kids creates yelling by the husband. Anger at the kids creates anger in her also.

[Speaker 2]
Later.

[Speaker 1]
So, main cause of pleasure is the last time you had the same pleasure. Anger creates anger creates anger creates anger. That's the main cause.

How to stop that cause? Only one way. You can go to a psychiatrist.

You can say to the psychiatrist, Oh, I have trouble. I often feel angry. Then they will say, Try to get more sleep.

Try to be more calm.

[Speaker 2]
Like that.

[Speaker 1]
But those are not the real cause. The real cause is I didn't do anything. Ready?

I didn't do anything. Okay, got it? That's the real cause.

Misunderstanding. Don't understand emptiness.

[Speaker 2]
Where is the emptiness in the kitchen? Jamie.

[Speaker 1]
Yeah, good.

[Speaker 2]
Jamie is emptiness. Why? Because he said, I didn't do anything.

[Speaker 1]
And that husband don't exist. I didn't do anything husband. He don't exist.

Nobody yelled at you for no reason.

[Speaker 2]
Who is the Tim husband? Bee. Bee husband.

That comes from me. That one is real.

[Speaker 1]
Jamie is not real.

[Speaker 2]
Why? Jamie is, I didn't do anything.

[Speaker 1]
There is no such thing. Every good thing in your life has a cause.

[Speaker 2]
Every bad thing in your life has a cause.

[Speaker 1]
Yesterday, we said one husband really exists and one husband don't exist.

[Speaker 2]
Which one don't exist? Show me with your hand. I did 20 things.

He yelled at me. I just come home. I just open the door.

I didn't say anything. Before I say anything, he call me stupid.

[Speaker 1]
That husband don't exist. Which husband really exists?

[Speaker 2]
Yeah, this one. Come from you.

[Speaker 1]
Come from yelling at the kids last week.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, understand? One husband really exists. Come from me.

Come from seed. Yelling at the kids last week. The other husband, I didn't do anything.

[Speaker 1]
That one don't exist. Now, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big question.

[Speaker 2]
Big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big.

[Speaker 1]
Question. Which husband you get angry at? Yeah, this one.

You can't get angry at the Bhi Lao gung.

[Speaker 2]
Why? Do you understand who made him? You made him.

You can't get angry at the bee husband. You made him. And you understand.

You made him.

[Speaker 1]
If you feel like ... okay, where's the money? $100.

If you really want to yell at somebody, who should you yell at? Wait, wait, wait.

[Speaker 2]
You choose. Good.

[Speaker 1]
Where? Yeah, go to the mirror. Go to the toilet.

[Speaker 2]
Toilet.

[Speaker 1]
Go to the toilet.

[Speaker 2]
Look in the mirror. Yell at yourself. Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Good. Good answer. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

$100 answer. Wait, standing. Wait.

Don't give the money.

[Speaker 2]
Sometimes, I ask $100 question, and very intelligent person give me $200 answer.

[Speaker 1]
So, anger is one of the six biggest kleshas.

[Speaker 2]
Anger in the kitchen is one of the six biggest negative emotions. Now, listen.

[Speaker 1]
Negative emotions always focus on person who's not there. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
Every time in your whole life, you get angry at somebody, listen, that person don't exist.

[Speaker 1]
You wasted every moment in your life.

[Speaker 2]
That person you hate them, they don't exist. You are crazy. You are wasting your time.

I didn't do anything. Don't exist. Every time you feel upset, you are crazy.

Okay? Understand? Understand.

[Speaker 1]
Now, listen. So, when you fight with other people, you are fighting with, I didn't do anything.

[Speaker 2]
That person don't exist. And when the two countries fight a war, or a trade war, that country in the trade war don't exist. You made them.

You made them.

[Speaker 1]
Okay?

[Speaker 2]
If you don't like it, stop making bad seeds.

[Speaker 1]
If you don't like your husband yell, stop yelling at your kids. If you don't like other country trade war, be nice to every small country. And you won't plant the seed for trade war.

[Speaker 2]
Trade war come from me. How many people died in World War II?

[Speaker 1]
One hundred million. How many people from China died in World War II? Thirty million people.

Who's the enemy?

[Speaker 2]
I didn't do anything.

[Speaker 1]
You understand?

[Speaker 2]
Even war, the other countries people don't exist.

[Speaker 1]
Waste one hundred million people's lives for nothing.

[Speaker 2]
Same as the kitchen. Not different from the enemy. If you don't like the enemy, fix here.

[Speaker 1]
Understand?

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
All right. Okay, here we go.

[Speaker 2]
So, now we reach the lam rim.

[Speaker 1]
There are five ways to help the mind to understand. There are five things you can do with the husband to make you stronger, so you can hold the real sword.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
What's the real sword? Understand kongshin. Some people said the pen.

[Speaker 2]
I like it.

[Speaker 1]
This is the real sword to stop your husband yelling. This is the real sword.

[Speaker 2]
But the sword is heavy. To understand kongshin is very heavy. We need help.

[Speaker 1]
We need to make the body strong. There are five ways to make the arms stronger, so you can hold the real sword. Okay?

Kongshin. We just saw, if you understand kongshin, you won't get angry at the sword.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, understand? But, we need help.

[Speaker 1]
If the sword is too heavy ...

[Speaker 2]
Geshe-la, I came home.

[Speaker 1]
I work ten hours at work. I took the kids to school. I have to go buy the groceries.

[Speaker 2]
I come home, I have to cook.

[Speaker 1]
I'm tired.

[Speaker 2]
I'm too tired to think about kongshin.

[Speaker 1]
What can I do?

[Speaker 2]
Well, there's five things you can do. Do they work?

[Speaker 1]
No. Do they help? A little bit.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, so let's talk about those five. We started yesterday.

[Speaker 1]
First of the five, don't come close to the person who makes you angry. You come in the kitchen. Husband starts to yell.

[Speaker 2]
You can always say, honey, I know you're angry. Let's talk about it. But, excuse me.

First, I have to go pee pee.

[Speaker 1]
Even angry husband won't tell you, don't go pee pee.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
So, I'm telling you, secret temporary method to stop the angry husband.

[Speaker 2]
You walk in the kitchen. Husband's like, ah, fan tong. You can say, honey, let's talk about it.

But first, I have to do pee pee.

[Speaker 1]
Then, go to the toilet. Go inside. Lock the door.

Sit on top of the toilet seat. Take a ten minute break. Slow pee pee.

Okay? Then, everything will be a little bit easier. Alright?

So, that's the first temporary method to stop the anger.

[Speaker 2]
Get out of the room. Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Get out of the room. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
If someone at work makes you angry, then avoid them.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Is it ultimate solution? No.

Does it help? Yeah. On top of the toilet seat, during the ten minute long pee pee, you can try to remember seeds.

It gives you some space to remember. So, first temporary method to stop the anger. Get out of the room.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? If you can.

[Speaker 1]
Alright?

[Speaker 2]
That's the first one.

[Speaker 1]
Second one.

[Speaker 2]
If your mental health is already strong, when you go to the kitchen, and your husband calls you stupid, you can stay pretty calm.

[Speaker 1]
If your mental health is good.

[Speaker 2]
General mental health.

[Speaker 1]
How to have general mental health? Meditate every morning.

[Speaker 2]
Even ten minutes of meditation. Increase your mental health. Then, ten hours later, when you come in the kitchen, and the husband ...

because you meditated in the morning, you will be more calm. Okay?

[Speaker 1]
So, meditate every day.

[Speaker 2]
It helps general mental health.

[Speaker 1]
There's another thing that hurts your mental health. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
Very busy on the phone. This very useful tool.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? You can check some things.

[Speaker 2]
You can get a message from your kids.

[Speaker 1]
But don't use it as a nervous habit.

[Speaker 2]
You have one minute, three, then many people send me email. Geshe-la, look, cat video.

[Speaker 1]
I have, I showed him, I have 31,000 unanswered emails.

[Speaker 2]
I didn't open them.

[Speaker 1]
Why?

[Speaker 2]
At the top of the email, Geshe-la, look at this very interesting cat video.

[Speaker 1]
Don't send me cat video.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
It makes my mind crazy.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? It's the opposite of meditation. Whole day, cell phone addiction.

Then, of course, when you come to the kitchen, husband call you fan tong.

[Speaker 1]
You are already nervous. Your mental health is not good. Then, of course, you will get angry.

[Speaker 2]
So, be careful. General mental health. If you have five minutes extra during the day, okay, do tong len.

Take away pain from other person. Don't waste your time on that cat video.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? It's a real waste of time. It's the opposite of meditation.

[Speaker 2]
It makes your mind nervous. So, use the cell phone.

[Speaker 1]
Don't let the cell phone use you.

[Speaker 2]
You are the boss of the cell phone. You take a break.

[Speaker 1]
You take a rest. I'm going to go have some meditation.

[Speaker 2]
Talk to your cell phone.

[Speaker 1]
You are very nervous.

[Speaker 2]
Relax. I'll turn you off.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Then, take a rest. Okay?

Why the China soft power program so successful? Those students required to leave the cell phone outside. Very good.

Okay, next thing. Bad friends.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Bad friends. So, choose your friends carefully. Okay?

Choose your friends carefully. Stay close to the friend who is very nice to other people.

[Speaker 2]
Who has good habits.

[Speaker 1]
They like to meditate. They like to do yoga. They like to go lam rim in Bali.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Those are dharma friends.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? If you stay close to them, you will get a good habit. If you have a friend who is not nice to other people, who likes alcohol, who likes lots of cell phone, cat video friend.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Then, just try to not spend time with them.

[Speaker 2]
Oh, Geshe-la, I'm a strong person. If I stay close to the bad people, I'm still good people.

[Speaker 1]
It doesn't work like that. If you stay close to people who are not nice to other people, their bad habit will come to you.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? So, stay close to the people who are nice to other people. And your meditation will be good.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, number four.

[Speaker 2]
Then we'll take a break. Okay?

[Speaker 1]
Eat, break. Number four is a bad habit.

[Speaker 2]
You got a habit to get angry.

[Speaker 1]
Okay?

[Speaker 2]
You already got a habit. How to break the habit? When you feel upset, count to ten.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Your husband say, you are a fan tong. Then, it's okay to call him fan tong.

Why?

[Speaker 2]
Why? All husbands are stupid. It's true.

Okay? But don't say it.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Then you make a bad seed. Don't say it.

[Speaker 2]
Of course it's true. Every woman knows. Right?

All husbands are stupid. But don't say it. Okay?

You make a bad seed. Okay? So, if you feel you want to call your husband stupid, count to ten.

[Speaker 1]
Slow.

[Speaker 2]
Don't go, one, two, three, four. When you reach ten, honey, you're the real fan tong. Okay?

But when you wait for ten seconds, control yourself for ten seconds, that breaks the habit. Okay? You just planted ten good seeds.

[Speaker 1]
Tomorrow they become twenty. Tomorrow they become forty. Tomorrow they become sixty.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
It will grow. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
Just plant a few good seeds. It will break the habit. So, so far, we said we're going to have five small seeds.

[Speaker 1]
What's the big seed?

[Speaker 2]
Kongxin. Remember kongxin. Remember when you get angry, the person you are angry at don't exist.

That's the only way to stop anger forever.

[Speaker 1]
But five smaller seeds will help.

[Speaker 2]
Number one, ten minute pee pee.

[Speaker 1]
Get out of the room. Okay?

[Speaker 2]
Don't fight, leave the room.

[Speaker 1]
Number two, try not to be cell phone addiction. Cat video, cat video, cat video.

[Speaker 2]
It makes your mind crazy.

[Speaker 1]
Then easy to get angry. Okay, number three, be careful who's your friend. Stay with the calm people who are nice to others.

[Speaker 2]
Number four, try to break this bad habit.

[Speaker 1]
Just count to ten. It will help to break the bad habit.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, we finished four small seeds.

[Speaker 1]
After the break, we will do number five. And we will follow the book.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, mini break.

[Speaker 1]
Please come back at 10.

[Speaker 2]
Okay?

[Speaker 1]
And we have a short class. Thank you.

[Speaker 2]
Let's start the book.

[Speaker 1]
You guys ready to project the book? Yay! Okay.

I'm on page...oh, we have a different copy. I'll give you mine, okay? Look for R-G-Y-E-E-R-U-G.

Where is that? Let me check. Go back two pages, one page really.

Stop. I don't know. Search for R-G-Y-E-R-U-G.

There you go. Okay, I'm sorry. Alright, so we're gonna read from the text.

And I know it's difficult for you.

[Speaker 2]
I don't expect you to learn this foreign language, but my hope is to go through this book word by word, page by page.

[Speaker 1]
And it will take 20 years. Nine years finished already. Okay, please put it back.

You ready? I'm ready. Okay, good.

Here we go. Huge Drupada, you know Chöpa Ni? It's the fifth small problem.

It's think about that thing again and again. And this helps the klesha to grow. DER CHAGS KYI YOD DANG ZHES DANG GI YOD SONG LA YANG NAS YANG DU RDOR BTAG STE Again and again, you think about this thing that made you upset.

[Speaker 2]
I can't believe it. I just came home. I just opened the door.

[Speaker 1]
He started yelling at me.

[Speaker 2]
Then next morning, wake up. First thing come in your mind, I can't believe it.

[Speaker 1]
I just come home. And he start yelling again. Okay, then next day, in the car, I can't believe it.

I just come home. He start yelling at me. Then this makes the klesha stronger and stronger.

[Speaker 2]
In English, we say, you didn't let it go. So, just let it go.

[Speaker 1]
Ten years ago, did anybody call you stupid in the whole year?

[Speaker 2]
Yes or no?

[Speaker 1]
I think so. What, you don't remember? Actually, no, I don't remember.

[Speaker 2]
But I guess someone called me stupid in the whole year.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, I heard a Buddhist nun give a talk one day. She gave a very, very good talk. And she said, her friend came to her.

She said, how's your husband? The lady said, I got divorced. And she said, why did you get divorced?

Then my husband called me stupid, called me jackass.

[Speaker 2]
Yeah, when did he say that?

[Speaker 1]
He said about ten years ago. Then she said, you are amazing stupid.

[Speaker 2]
Then the lady said, you are really incredibly stupid.

[Speaker 1]
When your husband called you stupid jackass ten years ago, he forgot about those words after ten minutes. But you holding them for ten years. Let it go.

[Speaker 2]
Let it go, okay?

[Speaker 1]
What, in 20 years, you won't remember.

[Speaker 2]
You will forget.

[Speaker 1]
So, why not forget it today?

[Speaker 2]
Anyway, in 20 years, you won't remember what your husband said to you. In 20 years, you will forget. So, why not forget it tonight?

Okay? Then you don't waste your time.

[Speaker 1]
If your husband is real stupid, and you think about what he said, again and again and again, after he forgot, then who's the stupid?

[Speaker 2]
You are stupid.

[Speaker 1]
You are wasting your time.

[Speaker 2]
Okay, someone does something bad to you, then forget it. Anyway, in 20 years, you will forget it.

[Speaker 1]
When you reach 66.9 years old, you will forget everything people say.

[Speaker 2]
Then you're really happy. Geshe-la, did someone call you stupid?

[Speaker 1]
I don't remember. Okay, that's better.

[Speaker 2]
You see, when you think about it again and again and again, then that klesha gets stronger and stronger and stronger.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, so just be 66.9 all the time. Let it go.

[Speaker 2]
Let it go, okay? If you hold that bad word that other people said to you, for many days, for many months, oh, my husband called me stupid, my husband called me a moron, okay?

[Speaker 1]
You're just proving he's correct.

[Speaker 2]
It's stupid to hold it.

[Speaker 1]
Let it go. Okay, let it go.

[Speaker 2]
Don't think about it. You're wasting your time. 66.9 year old person, I'll tell you something. Your life will go very fast. You will wake up tomorrow.

[Speaker 1]
You will be 66.9 years old.

[Speaker 2]
You say, what?

[Speaker 1]
What happened?

[Speaker 2]
Yesterday, I was 26.9. Today, I'm 66.9. Really, you talk to your parents here.

[Speaker 1]
Am I right? Yesterday, we were 25. Today, we are 65.

[Speaker 2]
Time goes like that.

[Speaker 1]
Don't waste five minutes thinking about what the stupid people said to you.

[Speaker 2]
You don't have time.

[Speaker 1]
Don't talk to your friends, oh, my husband said stupid thing to me.

[Speaker 2]
If you waste your precious lifetime talking about stupid things, then really you are stupid.

[Speaker 1]
And those people are correct. So, just let it go. People ask me, oh, Geshe-la, I saw somebody wrote bad thing about you online.

I said, I didn't see it. He said, you want to see?

[Speaker 2]
I said, no. I don't have time.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, I am translating. I am teaching. I'm having fun.

No, but it's very bad.

[Speaker 2]
It's about you.

[Speaker 1]
I said, it's okay, I don't have time. That person will die.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? Half the people who criticize me, they're already dead.

[Speaker 1]
After 20 more years, the other half will be dead. And me also.

[Speaker 2]
And the internet will also be dead.

[Speaker 1]
So, I'm not worried about it. There's a joke in Tibetan language. If I'm sitting on the stage with Stanley, and Stanley ate a bad dinner last night, then today on the stage, he's a ...

Okay, stupid person. Okay? What's that smell?

Where's it come from?

[Speaker 2]
If you smell a bad smell, put your nose this way.

[Speaker 1]
Hi Stanley.

[Speaker 2]
How are you doing?

[Speaker 1]
Good to see you. The air is very fresh over here. Okay, understand?

So, in Tibetan language, don't smell fart twice.

[Speaker 2]
When you smell a little bit, Hi Stanley. How are you doing? Good to see you.

[Speaker 1]
Someone says something bad here, don't look at it again and again and again. Then you are a real fart-smelling person. Okay, let it go.

It will go away after a few minutes.

[Speaker 2]
Everything goes away after a few minutes.

[Speaker 1]
Okay? Don't think again and again. Oh, this person call me stupid.

I don't like this person. Let it go. You don't have time.

Your life going like that. Don't spend the whole life Okay, just let it go. Move on.

My husband is very Think about good things.

[Speaker 2]
Okay? Okay, that's advice from an old man.

[Speaker 1]
So, also, if you avoid thinking like that, you won't get new angry thoughts. I'm already moved ahead. Whoever is keeping this, doesn't need to think.

Okay, Okay. Try to use the NYON MO. It's the fourth line now on the screen.

Okay? Use the antidote. Stop thinking about this guy hurt me.

[Speaker 2]
Or this guy caused me some trouble.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, we reached a new section. And let's start. We only have ten minutes.

Never waste ten minutes. Let's go ahead. ZHIG PA NYON MO GYI GNAS MIG NI What's that klesha do to you?

Okay? What did the klesha do to you? In this teacher, he quotes Maitreya.

It's called Sutralankara, The Jewel of the Sutras.

[Speaker 2]
And it's a poetry.

[Speaker 1]
NYON MO RNAMS KYI BDAG SBYONG SEMS CAN SBYONG ZHING GZOD CUNG SBYONG NYAMS CAN NYES PA'I MNAMS SHING BSRUNG DANG DE BZHIN DUN PA'I MED SPYOD PAR MI NGANG DE NI GZHAN DU MI KHO NUS KYIS MTHONG DANG MA RTOGS NYAMS PA'I YID LA DU NGES CAN PO PO It's a poetry by Maitreya.

[Speaker 2]
So, if you stay angry at your husband, you keep your nose in the fart, what happens to you? NYAMS KYI BDAG SBYONG It destroys your happiness.

[Speaker 1]
SEMS CAN SBYONG It destroys other people's happiness. Your friends get tired of you. How come we don't spend time with her anymore?

Every time we go out for coffee, she just wants to tell me all the bad things about her husband. I'm tired of her. She wants to spend the whole day smelling her husband's fart.

But she doesn't realize her friends are not interested in the husband's fart. Okay, so when you're always thinking about oh, he hurt me, he said something bad to me. Stanley!

[Speaker 2]
Stanley! You can't believe.

[Speaker 1]
Online.

[Speaker 2]
They criticize Geshe Michael. Let me tell him.

[Speaker 1]
This and this and this and this and this.

[Speaker 2]
Listen. Your friends, they don't care.

[Speaker 1]
They don't want to hear about husband's fart.

[Speaker 2]
Why are they your friends? They want to have happy time with you.

[Speaker 1]
If you're always talking about some problem, you will lose your friends. Actually, they're not interested about your problem.

[Speaker 2]
They want to have fun with you. Okay, and TSUL KHRIMS SBYONG TSUL KHRIMS SBYONG means you will get a bad habit. If you start to criticize your husband, oh, my husband said this bad thing, you get a habit to talk about bad things.

[Speaker 1]
Then all the time talking about negative things.

[Speaker 2]
Oh, Stanley! Not only my husband fart, his friend also fart. Friend's friend also fart.

Friend's friend's friend's friend also fart. All day you're talking about fart. Nobody cares, okay?

[Speaker 1]
Nobody wants to listen. Then you make bad karma. Okay, so don't waste your time.

Number one, you waste your time.

[Speaker 2]
Number two, you make new bad karma.

[Speaker 1]
Let it go.

[Speaker 2]
It's your fault. You plant the seed.

[Speaker 1]
You plant the seed for husband's bad words.

[Speaker 2]
If you repeat those bad words to everybody, you're making new bad seeds.

[Speaker 1]
Then more bad words will come to you. Just let it go.

[Speaker 2]
Anyway, in two years, in ten years, the worst thing your husband said to you you won't remember. You will forget.

[Speaker 1]
So why not forget today? Let it go. Just go to 66.9 today.

[Speaker 2]
All right, next one.

[Speaker 1]
When you waste people's time and tell them about your problems, during that time you are not making new friends and you are not making money. Your success will go down.

[Speaker 2]
When you waste time complaining about other people, you are not making new things.

[Speaker 1]
You are not making new projects.

[Speaker 2]
Then your success will go down.

[Speaker 1]
You don't have time to think of new projects for your business and spend the time to criticize your husband.

[Speaker 2]
You have to choose. You have choice.

[Speaker 1]
Do you want to focus on your success? Or do you want to focus on what your husband said to you yesterday?

[Speaker 2]
You have to choose.

[Speaker 1]
You don't have time to do both. My personal system I ignore criticism of other people. When someone says I don't like your translation of a sangha, during that criticizing time I am translating Nagarjuna.

Understand? You cannot do both. You don't have time to translate Nagarjuna and answer criticism online.

[Speaker 2]
So, if you spend the time to answer criticism online you can't do new work. You can't have fun.

[Speaker 1]
You don't have time.

[Speaker 2]
So, you choose. You want to go up, up, up?

[Speaker 1]
Or if someone don't like you what's the best way to piss them off?

[Speaker 2]
Become more successful.

[Speaker 1]
Don't talk about them.

[Speaker 2]
Don't worry about them.

[Speaker 1]
Become more happy. Become more successful. If people criticize you online what are you going to do?

[Speaker 2]
I'm going to make more money and be more successful. And that's my answer.

[Speaker 1]
Got it?

[Speaker 2]
Okay, next one.

[Speaker 1]
MAN CING GSUNGS DANG DE BZHIN STON PA'I MED Cool people in the world. Cool, cool people. Who's the coolest people in the world?

Buddha. They are the coolest people. They are the best supermodel.

They are the best rock and roll star. They are the best movie star. It's a Buddha.

Then if a Buddha Buddha is looking at you all the time Buddha is watching you all the time.

[Speaker 2]
Then if you are smelling husband's fart Buddha is like They went to Bali. They didn't learn anything.

[Speaker 1]
It's like your mom.

[Speaker 2]
If your mom sees you fighting with your sister then the mom is like Man, what kind of kid I have.

[Speaker 1]
Waste their time like that.

[Speaker 2]
Buddha is always watching you.

[Speaker 1]
When you spend your time thinking about the bad things your husband said to you two people have to listen to your bad thoughts.

[Speaker 2]
You and the Buddha.

[Speaker 1]
Because Buddha knows your thoughts all the time.

[Speaker 2]
Then the Buddha is like Oh, no more, no more. Stop, stop, stop.

[Speaker 1]
Think about something good. Who's the most important Buddha in your life? There are millions of Buddha.

Every person here will be Buddha. Who's the most important Buddha listening to your mind?

[Speaker 2]
Right now. Amitabha. Maitreya.

Shakyamuni. No. Your future Buddha.

Your future Buddha. Every person here. Of course you have Buddha seed.

You will become Buddha. Nobody can stop you. When you are born your mom gives you arms.

[Speaker 1]
Your mom gives you fingers. Your mom gives you legs. And your mom gives you Buddha seed.

Every person in this room you will become Buddha in the future. When you become Buddha you will look into the past. You will check your own mind from 2019 December.

Who's the main Buddha listening to your mind right now?

[Speaker 2]
Your future Buddha is looking at your mind right now.

[Speaker 1]
She's thinking again about what her husband said. Your future Buddha is very frustrated.

[Speaker 2]
Your future Buddha wants to yell at you.

[Speaker 1]
Stop thinking about your stupid husband!

[Speaker 2]
You are slowing down your Buddhahood. You are hurting me.

[Speaker 1]
Understand?

[Speaker 2]
When you waste your time.

[Speaker 1]
Oh, somebody said a bad thing to me just now.

[Speaker 2]
Somebody put a bad email.

[Speaker 1]
And the internet criticizes me.

[Speaker 2]
When you think about that you're slowing down your future Buddha.

[Speaker 1]
You also upset your future Buddha. He's sitting in the Bali class listening to Jing thinking about stupid thing husband said. She can't believe it.

Okay, so try to respect the Buddha. Buddha listening to your mind all day. Try to have a nice mind smell sweet like these flowers.

Geshe-la come to the class everybody offer flowers very sweet smell but in the mind fart, fart, fart, fart Buddha don't want the sweet flower and the fart mind.

[Speaker 2]
Buddha want the sweet mind mind smell good. You want to make offering to Buddha stop thinking about bad thing somebody said to you.

[Speaker 1]
Okay, then your mind smells sweet. Then that's real flower offering to Buddha. They don't care this flower.

This flower. Okay, we stop there. We will have mandala by Christy which is the key leader from South China Thank you for hard work to bring all of us to this Bali.

[Speaker 2]
Thank you.

[Speaker 1]
Use the microphone.
