[Говорящий 1] (0:00 - 23:55) Okay, let's please meditate and get ready. Please check the corners of your mouth. Are they relaxed? Check your forehead. Pull in your stomach slightly. Straighten up your body by pulling on the top of your head like you have a string attached to it. Relax your shoulders. You can bring your hands a little bit back on your legs so that your chest goes out. Then when you start meditating, don't tighten up your face again. Watch your face and keep it soft as you start to meditate and concentrate. Slowly come to your breath. Then please focus on the place between your eyebrows. Then please put a small piece of blue sky in that same place between your eyebrows and watch that blue sky as if it were very, very big. Just relax. Don't struggle. Don't resist or struggle or fight. Just relax and look at the blue sky. Now please be aware of the space in which your body is sitting. Your body is occupying space and please be aware of that space. It covers to the edge of your skin from the inside and there's a space that is allowing your body to be where it is. Now please be aware of the space which is occupied by the spot between your eyebrows. The spot is a positive thing. It's some little piece of your skin and then the space is like a cup which holds it. The spot between your eyebrows is a positive thing and the space is like a cup which holds it. Now focus on the skin between the eyebrows and ask yourself, where did this come from? Focus on the skin between the eyebrows and ask yourself, where did this come from? Then automatically we have a feeling. It comes from the food I eat or the vitamins in the food. Or it came from my mother and my father. But who made the food? Who put the vitamins in the food? Who created mother and father? Why are they my mother and why are they my father? They're all coming from me. I planted a seed many, many years ago. That seed opened and it created my father and my mother to give me my birth, to create the skin between my eyebrows. I put the vitamins in the food by feeding those who need food. So now look at the skin between your eyebrows in a new way. This is all coming from me. And the things which created it, even those which existed before I was born, were all coming from me. Last thing, last idea. Think about the skin which only came from your mother and father, between your eyebrows. And think about the skin between your eyebrows which only comes from the food that you've eaten. Think about the skin between your eyebrows which you did not create. The old one. It's not there. It was never there. Focus. Between your eyebrows, on the absence of that skin. And that's the fourth kind of space. And rest there and be peaceful there. Then please come back to your breath. Then slowly open your eyes. Take a stretch. Any questions about meditation? One question in the back. Far away. Okay. There's extra charge. [Говорящий 2] (24:05 - 24:32) When I have something here, when I move this thing away, this space still exists. Does it mean that the space is inclusive of everything, everything that comes and goes? So, does it mean that this space is also empty? Is it also empty? [Говорящий 1] (24:34 - 24:35) Okay, the first question. [Говорящий 2] (24:36 - 24:37) Is not. [Говорящий 1] (24:37 - 38:44) Whether the space is occupied by something that is still existing, meaning it can contain everything, is it because the space is also empty? Good, good. So I'm going to repeat the question. Yeah, repeat in English. So, whether the space is occupied or not, it's still there. Is it empty? Is that the meaning of empty? Something like that. Yeah, good. Because of this reason, do we call it empty? So, where did this meditation come from? We are studying a book in Phoenix called DANG TSAN GZHAN GYUR How many years? I think three years. It's by the first Panchen Lama, Lobsang Chukyi Gyaltsen. He lived about 450 years ago. And he's talking about a special meditation called space-like meditation. NAM KHA LTA BU NAM KHA LTA BU means like similar to space. Then NAM KHA, what's the Sanskrit for space? Akasha, Akasha. It can have four different meanings. One is like just the blue sky that the bird flew through yesterday. One is like outer space, black, where the stars and the earth are hanging. Those are both positive things. You can see them with your eyes. The third space is the place where things are. The space which things occupy. So, there's a space here. It's not the air. And it is not the place between here and here. It's not that. It's just place. The flower can go into that space, and the flower can go into that space. And the flower can leave that space. But you're correct. This space cannot change. It's occupied, or it's not occupied. But whether it's occupied or not occupied, it doesn't change. Because it's just the absence of anything there. Very important thing. It allows other things to have a place. But it's negative. It's an absence of something. And those absences you cannot see with your eyes. You can only think about it. Then there's a fourth kind of space. Oh, we can say that's empty. We can say it's empty. It's empty of physical blocking. In Buddhism we call it tok re kak tsam. Tok re kak tsam means simple absence of blocking. So that's empty. But it's not emptiness. Emptiness is deeper. That's space number four. So, when you say SA BU'I KHONG KHONG BU'I SA SA RGYUD ZHUGS KHONG KHONG RGYUD ZHUGS SA When you say the Shinjing Heart Sutra, that emptiness is completely different. But it's similar. This flower, very beautiful. I love this. This is one of my favorite colors. When I think about the flower, where did it come from? Then I think, oh, they went to the flower shop in Guadalajara and someone bought this flower. And some guy grew it in his garden to sell. And each color comes from some fertilizer. I know because I grow flowers. So, when you ask Geshe Michael, where did the flower come from? Oh, somebody left it here. Deeper. Go deeper. Probably they bought it in a store in Guadalajara. Go deeper. Go deeper. Some guy grew it and he sold it to the store. Go deeper. Go deeper. Oh, he put special fertilizer and it grows this beautiful color. Go deeper. Go deeper. Who put the flower there? Somebody planted it, or I have... you grow this from a stick. You buy a stick and you grow it. You stick the stick in the ground and you grow it. Go deeper. Go deeper. Who made the stick? I did. How? I gave something beautiful to another person. That plant had a seed in my mind. Then that seed grew the stick maybe ten years ago. Your life is an epic story. It's millions of years old. You planted this flower maybe a hundred years ago. You were on a different planet maybe. You prepared this flower for today, maybe a few hundred years ago. You gave something beautiful to somebody. Now your idea about the flower changes. You should have joy about all the beautiful things in your life. Especially the people here. Each person. You planted them couple hundred years ago maybe. Each intelligent mind. Each spiritual yearning in those people's heart. You made all those things. It's a special place here this week. Where can you find this kind of what do you call it? Mix of people. Where can you find it? You created it. So when you see nice people you should be like good job, good job. So your idea about this flower, the idea that the flower came from the store, the flower that came from the store disappears. And in this place there is a there is a flower which came from me and it sits. Where does it sit? It sits in a place where no flower came from the store. It's difficult. There's a place here that's empty because we threw out the flower which came from the store. Now there's available space for another flower which came from me because I gave something beautiful to someone. Okay, it's a different feeling about the flower. Before I talked about it, your feeling someone bought this flower. Now your feeling should be good job Geshe Michael. You must have given beauty to someone else. That new flower pushes out the old flower and creates an empty space for this flower to sit. Okay? Is that okay? Second question. Sir, what is the reason you just described four kinds of space? They are all coming from my seeds. Why did this body thus eminence also come from a seed? Very good question. So, we have described four kinds of space. To tell you the truth, the Chinese people always ask the best questions. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Mexico and America have to catch up. So we talked about four kinds of space. Do they also come from my seeds in my mind? Does each one come from seeds in my mind? What do you think? Everything, everything comes from seeds in your mind. Even things which are not there come from seeds in your mind. You have to cook that. Okay, good question. Tough question. Okay, let's go.
