Today we talk about a special yoga called Nirguna Siddha. My idea was to talk today and to talk tomorrow about Nirguna Siddha. And then the day after that, in the afternoon, we will actually do the Nirguna itself.

So two days we talk about it, and then on the third day we do the Nirguna. So first I'd like to tell you about who Nirguna was. Then we'll talk about the Nirguna.

But I think first, to talk a little bit about the music to yoga. Nirguna lived a thousand years ago. And she was a great yoga practitioner.

She lived in India. And she had a special idea about why to do yoga. Nirguna.

I think, I don't know about you, I do yoga because I want to stay strong. I don't want to be fat. I like to have energy.

This is why, this is a lot of the reason why I do yoga. Nirguna was different. Her yoga is very special.

And the reason to do yoga is to change the heart. She has special yoga poses for getting rid of anger, for example. Or jealousy.

Or wanting things too much. So I think, when I found out about Nirguna, then I thought, oh this is very good for modern people. I teach a lot of business people.

And they have a lot of trouble in their office. They have a lot of angry customers and angry bosses. And I thought that, when I learned about this kind of yoga, I thought this is very good for working people, normal people.

So my idea about the reason to do Nirguna's yoga, the reason to learn Nirguna's yoga, is to make our mind more calm. And we are working to teach it to many working people. So we just did a training in Taipei, for yoga teachers.

And we are going to be teaching Nirguna's yoga to working people. Working people don't have two hours to go to yoga every day. And especially in Taipei, for example, and Hong Kong, we are thinking a lot about the women who are working.

In Taipei, the women are now, in many families, the women are making more money than the men. But still the work of taking care of the children is given not to the men, but to the women. And also, I don't know, did you know, especially in Taipei, when they come home, the woman has to do all the cooking also.

So maybe the woman now in Taipei, maybe she is the main worker, she is making the most of the money of the family. She is a Taiwanese woman. And she is working not 8 hours, but 10 hours a day at home.

She has to go to, also before work, she has to take the children to school.

[Говорящий 2]
She has to dress the children.

[Говорящий 1]
Drop them off at the daycare. And when they get home, she has to, when she comes home, she has to cook for them. So really, in many countries now, the woman is working from, I don't know, 6 o'clock in the morning to maybe 10 o'clock at night, just to feed the family and make a living.

And all of the commons that come as workers to us, they used to come to the man. Now they are coming to the woman. So the woman feels nervous.

She starts to get anxiety. She starts to get anxiety. She starts to eat poorly.

Spending all day on the computer. Then she makes her body old. And the woman loses her energy.

I think it would be very good if those working people could learn to be a yoga master. But they don't have time. They can't go, leave work at 10 o'clock and go to the yoga class and spend an hour and a half and going and coming.

It's two to three hours. So if there was a kind of yoga which doesn't take this time, but it's very powerful and easy to do. Doesn't take much time.

Very powerful. Easy to do. I think it's most important thing for the world to help those working people.

So Nigula's Yoga, the purpose of Nigula's Yoga for Nigula was to help people's mind and the stress and the anxiety during the time that they are working. So we are going to spend two days talking about how that yoga works in your body. And where that yoga came from.

And then we will, on the third day, we will do yoga together, if you like. It's not difficult yoga. It's for beginning people.

Because I think many of the kinds of yoga are too difficult for the working people. Too difficult. So we will talk about the kind of yoga which is good for working people, easy to do, but still, I think it is more powerful than the other kinds of yoga.

But we have to explain why. We have to talk about the reason why it is more powerful. So I think what's fun for me, first is to talk about where did this yoga come from.

And so first we have to talk about Nigula herself. Nigula, is there a Nigula there? Is it over?

[Говорящий 2]
It's too small.

[Говорящий 1]
Too small?

[Говорящий 2]
That's it.

[Говорящий 1]
Wait. OK. She's dead a long time ago.

So she's very hard to see. So Nigula was born a thousand years ago. And I want to tell you the story of how she came to be a yogi.

So I don't know if you've heard, there's a famous yoga yogi from India called Naropa. In America, there's a university. Its name is Naropa University.

So Naropa lived exactly a thousand years ago in India. And he was a prince. So his family had a lot of money, very wealthy.

He liked spiritual things. He wasn't very interested in being a king. But of course his family wanted him to be a king.

And his father and his mother always pushing him to get married. He has to produce another king. So, they were pushing him, pushing him, pushing him for many years to find a wife.

Then, finally he got tired of it. So he said, OK, I will get married. But you have to find the girl for me.

She should be... She is 16 years old. Her name should be Nikuma.

Some people say, well that's a nice name. Some people say she has another name. Then she should be a very good Hindu.

Daughter of a Brahmin. And she should be also a very good Buddhist. In India at that time this is impossible.

It's like you said she should be Christian and Muslim in Iraq. So, Naropa thought they will never find this girl. Not possible to find a girl like that.

And the king also thought maybe not possible. So, he asked two of his ministers to go find her. They spent one year looking for her.

Then in a small village in Bangal, in India, almost a day, they were very very tired and they sat down to rest. They saw a well, a village with a well. There was a very beautiful girl came.

She had a bucket. And she started to get the water. It's very difficult.

Supposed to pull up the water.

[Говорящий 2]
But something happened.

[Говорящий 1]
She snapped her finger and the water came up in the bucket. Then she snapped her finger and the water came up. They thought, oh, she is pretty special.

Then she saw them. She was very afraid. Then she said, who are you?

And they said, oh, we are just travelers. She said, maybe you need some water. So she went to them and she helped wash them and she gave them water.

In her mind, she is a Buddhist. Then they said, what is your name? She said, my name is Nibbuma.

Then they were very excited, very happy. They said, what is your religion? She said, I am Hindu.

My father is Hindu. Then they told her, OK, look, we are actually very big government people. Our king has a son.

And he is supposed to get married. But he refused. And he said, we are supposed to look for a man named Nibbuma who is a Hindu, who is acting like a Buddhist husband.

Then they thought, she will be very happy. Now she can be a queen. But she didn't care much.

She is a very special person. She said, I have to ask my father. Then they went to ask her.

She said, don't ask him tonight. You wait until morning. In the morning, the father finished his Hindu people have to do.

The Brahmin have to wash them. After he finished, then one strange man also came with him. Two ministers asked him, they explained, our boss is a king.

He has a son. He wants to marry our daughter. Then the king's two ministers asked the Brahmin, I will tell you the situation.

Our king has a son. He wants to marry our daughter. The Brahmin said, I heard about this king.

You are all Buddhist people. He said, I am Brahmin, Hindu. You are Buddhist.

You cannot marry my daughter. So, he went into the house. He closed the door.

Then the two ministers are talking to each other. They said, this is the girl. Definitely, this is the girl.

If we can't bring her back, it's better we should die. So, they slept near the door. They didn't eat anything.

They didn't drink anything. They got very sick. Almost dead.

Then, the people walking by, they asked him, what are you doing on the Brahmin's porch? He said, we are, they explained, we want her to be the queen, the princess, and the father is a shithead. So, we decided to stay here until we die.

Then, more and more people came. They got upset at the Brahmin. So, they started chanting, we want the queen, we want the queen.

Finally. Then, all the people got angry. All the people started cheering for the two ministers.

And finally, the Brahmin broke down and he agreed to be his daughter. Then, he went to the palace and actually, they gave him a very nice dinner and lots of gold, and he was very happy. He thought, it's okay, she can marry him.

Then, when Nyinguma saw Naropa, he knew, this is my husband. This is also my teacher. She understood in that moment, in the first moment that she saw him, she understood, this is my teacher, and my husband.

So, very happy story, Nyinguma married. He already studied a lot of Buddhism, and he started teaching Buddhism. And then, I think they lived like that for eight years, I think.

But then, Naropa really wanted to go study more in the monastery. And he he wanted to learn yoga also. So, he went to...

he told his wife, I would like to go study more, I'd like to become a monk. Then she said, you know, in India, still now, there is no custom, the woman cannot have divorce, not possible. And she told him, only if the woman is being bad with another man, then it's possible to get divorce, they may allow.

She said, I want to stay with you. If you go to study, I will follow you. So, I have an idea.

You tell your father, the king and the queen, you tell them something. You say that I went with another man, I could leave with the daughter. You lie to king and queen.

Then they will agree, you can leave. And they will agree to divorce. And then you leave, and I will follow you.

You do what you want, you become monk, you can study, I don't have to live with you, I will stay outside the door of the monastery, but I will always study with you, and I will always serve you, and I will always stay there. So, they did, they did the plan. And all the parents, the Brahmin father, the king and queen, all very upset.

And Nygma sacrificed her most important position, which is her reputation. And Nygma sacrificed her most important position, which is her reputation. And Naropa went to study.

He studied all over North India. He studied some in Kashmir, which is in the west, and he studied a lot in Bangkok, which is in the east. And he pulled back on Kashmir.

And he became very famous. He was a great debater. And later he became the head, the advocate of Nalanda monastery.

This is the most important monastery that he did in history. So, he was the most famous scholar, and most famous teacher in India in his time. And one day he was sitting outside the monastery, under a tree.

And he was reading a very difficult book. This is a logic book. Then came one old woman.

She is very special. Very old. And they say she had 37 different kinds of ugliness.

Big nose. Hair is pulled out. Teeth are all broken.

She smells very bad. Then she said, Oh, Naropa. What are you doing?

I am reading a very difficult scripture. I am the greatest scholar in Indian monk Buddhism. Then she said, Do you understand the words?

He said, Yes, I understand the words. Then she started to dance. Like crazy, she is dancing.

Then she stopped. Then he said, Oh, Naropa. Do you understand the meaning?

She said, I am Naropa. Of course I understand the meaning. Then she started crying.

Yeah, this way. And then Naropa was confused. He said, You ask me if I know the words.

I said, Yes. You start to dance. Then you ask me if I know the meaning.

I said, Yes. Then you start to cry. Why?

What is the problem? Then she said, When you answer me I know the words. I know you are telling the truth.

And when you started to understand the meaning, I saw a Buddhist monk tell a lie. Of course I have to cry. Then he said, I am the greatest monk in India.

If I don't understand the meaning, who understands? Then she said, Naropa understands. Naropa was a little bit proud.

He said, Who is this Naropa? Tell him to come. I will talk to him.

Then the old woman said, The student doesn't tell the teacher to come. She has to go to the teacher. Then she disappeared.

Then Naropa's mind, Wow! Naropa said, Wow! And then he think, Something strange happened in his mind.

He said, She is telling the truth. Maybe I really don't understand. Maybe I need to find a better teacher, a master.

So, strange thing happened in his mind. Then he went back to the monastery. Nalanda monastery.

And he made an announcement. He said, I am leaving the monastery. And I am giving up my job.

Everyone says, You are crazy. You are the most famous monk in India. He said, Yeah, I understand something that I don't understand immediately.

And I have to find, I heard the name of Tilopa. I have to find Tilopa. So he looked for many years for Tilopa.

He went to the jungle. Tried to find Tilopa. There are many beautiful stories.

Tilopa gave him many tests. For example, for a long time he couldn't find him. And he tried, many many strange people came to him.

Each one was Tilopa. But he didn't know who was Tilopa. And each one hurt him in different ways.

Then one day, he is in the jungle, and he decides, he is very sad. In this life, I cannot meet Tilopa. It's better to die.

Go to that side. Maybe I can meet him there. So he took out a knife.

In India, you don't cut here, you have to cut there. And he started to cut. Then the Tilopa came.

Stop that. Stop. I have to teach you now.

Then they started a very strange relationship. Tilopa took him to the top of a very high building, like this one. Tilopa sat on the roof like this.

It's very far. And he said, Tilopa, you sit next to me. Don't look at me.

Then Tilopa is looking at the sky. Nowadays you can't find good students. They are all stupid.

They are all lazy. They have no faith. If I had a real student, he would jump off this roof.

So Naropa said, Oh, he wants me to jump.

[Говорящий 2]
So Naropa jumped.

[Говорящий 1]
He fell like six times onto the ground. He broke many bones. He is lying on the ground.

Then Tilopa came down very slowly. Then he looked at Naropa. Naropa.

What the hell are you doing? He said, you said if you had a good disciple, he would jump. He said, you are so stupid.

Then he slapped him. Slap him on the face. Broken leg.

He is crying. He was so stupid. But Naropa didn't get upset.

He believed him. He didn't lose his faith. He said, please teach me.

Please teach me. So, Tilopa said, OK. You come with me to heaven.

And he touched his body like this. And all the bones are fixed. So then Naropa was very happy.

He thought, oh, now I will get a big teaching. Then they came to a river. You know the rest of the story.

That is the place they went. Tilopa said, if I have a good student, he will go into this ice and snow river, and he will build a bridge for his teacher. You know the rest of the story.

Next step. Next step. If I have a good student, he will build a bridge for me.

After that they saw a big elephant. Many elephants. And there is one beautiful bride.

It is a wedding. It is a wedding. It is one king and one general's daughter.

And many many soldiers are coming behind them. Tilopa said, if I have a real disciple, he would pull the girl down from the elephant and throw dirt on her. So of course Naropa did.

Then all the soldiers came and beat him. So it went like that. Finally one day Tilopa taught Naropa.

Mainly he taught in yoga. So Naropa studied with Tilopa. We call the six yogas of Naropa.

And he became very very good in yoga. He became a famous yoga. Then he taught Niguma.

Then he and Niguma stayed together for the rest of their life. Niguma became very very good in yoga. She has a special school.

There is a big river in India called Ganges river. On this river there is an island. And this island name is Sosa.

So Niguma started a school there. And all the ladies come. Special school for ladies.

Only women. And they spend the yoga together. And she taught them how to do yoga.

The yoga which you will learn the day after tomorrow is this yoga. Then she taught them very well. Actually later they all learned to fly.

And they have yoga class in the sky. You don't believe it. Because nowadays people are much more stupid than before.

Really. But they have the class in the sky. And there was a Tiberian monk.

His name was Khenpo Neldra. He heard about Niguma. One day he heard the name Niguma.

Sometimes when you hear your teacher's name you know this is my teacher. So he lives in Tibet. It's 1000 miles.

It's a mount Everest. Highest mountains. And he was talking to some Tibetan people who came back from India.

And they said Oh, there is this yoga teacher named Niguma. Then he heard her name. And he thought Oh, I have to see Niguma.

So he went. He sold all his things. In those days you have to give yoga teacher one bag of gold.

You have to give the teacher everything you own. This is the cost of yoga class. So he went to...

He sold all his things. He got a bag of gold dust. And he went to India.

Very difficult. It takes... You have to walk for 3-4 months.

He reached Ganga river. He got to Sosa island. He came to the island.

He looked around. There is nobody. Why?

You are in the sky. She is great. Then he heard a noise.

They are practicing yoga. They are everywhere. Then he saw in the sky, there is Niguma.

Then he said You are Niguma. I know it. Please teach me.

She looked down. She said, I am not Niguma. She looked down.

I am the devil. I am going to eat you. You should run.

Then he said, no, no. I believe you are Niguma. But still he covered his head.

One arm is covering the head. One holds the gold. I have gold.

Then he grabbed the gold. He picked something up. She is still in the sky.

She opened the gold. She threw it in the wind. They all floated to the trees.

All the trees are very beautiful. They are gold. He said, ok, I will teach you.

She picked him up. Then she flew to a very high mountain. He was tired from walking from Tibet.

He fell asleep. Then she landed on the top of the mountain. She put him on the mountain.

He went into his dream. She taught him this yoga which you will learn. Then he woke up there.

He said, oh, I have a strange dream. Somebody is teaching me yoga. Strange.

But I think not true. Then she said, you are very stupid. I will teach you second time.

So she taught him yoga second time. Awake. Then he came back to Tibet.

She told him, I don't remember, I think it is seven generations. Each person can only teach one person. Cannot teach to two people.

Can only teach to one person in your life. This yoga. So for seven generations, this yoga was only taught to one student in the teacher's lifetime.

Later it came, we call Gelugpa. Gelugpa is where I was trained. Gelugpa.

It was passed on inside Gelugpa for almost 600 years. Now it came to us. Now they allow to teach more people.

So we think it is good to understand where the yoga comes from. And who taught it first time? And what are the names of all the teachers?

And we sing in the monastery. We sing the names of the teachers. So we have up to now 37 teachers.

And you are number 38. And we think it is a very big responsibility to learn this yoga. Then you have to learn it well.

So we gave you one paper. It has some pictures on it. I want to explain who these people are.

First picture is Nygma. Her tribe name, her people's name is Nygma. And Ma means woman in Tibetan language.

So Nygma means the lady who comes from the Nygma people. But there is a secret tradition. It says her real name was Nirguna.

Nirguna means Kongxin, means emptiness. When you say Xingjing, how do you say that? Like that, when you say that.

Kong This meaning is Nirguna. In Indian language. We say her real name is Kongxin.

Then below that, in the little picture, there is one guy, he is holding out his arms like that. This is her spiritual partner. This is Naropa.

When he does yoga, he dresses like that. He is a monk, but he wears a hair a little bit long. This is a monk's yoga costume.

We have a book which shows his yoga. Tomorrow I will bring a copy, I show it to you. But I put one page here, you can see all the exercises.

On the bottom and on the right side, these are two teachers who taught this yoga before. So this is the history of this yoga. Now I want to tell you how it works.

We believe if you understand how yoga works, it is more powerful. And if you don't understand how it works, it is not so powerful. And we believe you must do in a special way the yoga.

If you do the wrong way, then it is not so powerful. Why are we studying Nikuman Yoga? For working people.

This yoga, I would like to see this yoga, especially women who are working so hard so many hours, they can do this yoga in half an hour in the morning. Or 45 minutes. They can do it in their house.

It is not difficult. The poses are not special. They are not strange.

There are strange poses in the monastery, but I am not going to show you. These are poses that almost all of them are usual poses. But there is a special way to do the pose.

And it makes the body very strong. And it makes the mind very healthy. If you do Nikuman Yoga in the morning, then you go to your job.

The job will change. The boss will change. The salary will change.

You see, this is very powerful. So, I have to explain to you how does it change your boss? How does it change your office?

How does it change your life? Buddha said, Don't believe what I am saying because you like Geshe Michael. Don't believe what I am saying because you like me.

Check what he is saying. See if it works. If it works, then you can do it.

If it doesn't work, then you tell Geshe Michael, you are a very nice teacher. I like you very much, but I am not going to do your yoga. So, now we start to learn how does Nikuman Yoga work.

And this is also very beautiful to understand. And my teacher taught me in the monastery. So, I was 25 years, 26 years in the monastery.

And in yoga they teach you at the end. Because it is considered very special. But if you meet a special people, you can teach them the yoga first.

And then after you explain it. In our monastery, they explain it first and then they teach you the asana. To learn the inside inside part of yoga in my training, we started in 1978 or something like that.

So, we have to study almost 20 years before we can learn asana. And I will show you how they teach asana in the monastery. So, I gave you 3 wires.

We won't finish it. Do you have a watch? Can I borrow?

I will sell outside. I will bring somebody from USA. OK.

OK. Do you need a break? Let's forget the break.

They are not giving this actually to you. OK. So, this is how we learn about yoga in the monastery.

This is how they teach. This is how we learn in the monastery. Do you have a towel?

A mug? I think it is too... Oh, nice.

I keep this one too.

[Говорящий 2]
OK.

[Говорящий 1]
In the monastery, they teach with a mug. And very complicated. And I am not going to show you the mug.

What is your problem? I want to teach you against the virus. Yes.

Then you will be ruined. If I just do with my mala, you will forget. So, first take this one.

And I like to thank Rob and Jessica. They work to find these things. This is called Sushumna.

So you heard, some yoga people, you heard the word Sushumna. In Tibet, we call it Sentokshana. If you don't have wire, you can raise your hand.

If you don't have. If you don't have, please raise your hand. In Tibet, they call it Tauma.

Tauma. Ta means taro. Ta means mug.

And Uma means in the middle. So, I want to show you where is this Sushumna. So, I want to show you where is this Sushumna.

This one starts here. Under the bone. Let's say about a half inch inside.

And then it goes under the skull, under the bone, it goes down. And it goes down your neck. Comes out of the out from under the skull.

Comes out here. Then goes down inside the spine. Half inch.

And comes down here. Goes under. Comes up here.

On the man, it comes to the tip of the organ. And on the woman, it comes to the top of the vagina. And this is Sushumna.

We can call it Sentosa. Then there is another one, red one. You have the red one?

Which side is here? On the right side. On the right side.

Little bit down. Then it goes up. And it falls on the right side.

Under the skull. It is going next to the Sushumna. And it comes under the skull and it falls on the Sushumna.

In Tibetan we call it Roma. Say Roma. In India, they call Pingala.

Pingala means red color. The word Ping comes from Pingala. So, you can also say red channel.

And it falls very close to the middle channel. And it goes the same way. Down to the Muladhara.

Then it has a small channel goes down your leg. On the right side. So, what is this one, the white one?

White channel. Left channel. It goes down the left side of the main channel.

It comes down a little bit here. And goes up next to the central channel. And follows down.

And then one branch goes down your leg. There are many small branches. We say there are 72,000 small channels.

And in the yoga texts in India, they say same, 72,000 channels. So, I'm going to give you the Indian name for the white channel. It's called, say Indra.

Indra. You have to turn your tongue back.

[Говорящий 2]
Indra.

[Говорящий 1]
Indra, Indra. You turn the tongue back. Indra.

Indra. Yeah, like Pandita. OK?

Or Mandala. OK, you got it. Uh...

That's why in India, you don't have to talk in this way. OK. So, you go...

Now, some bad news. Oh, wait, I'll tell you good news first. I put on the back of your paper, here are the Indian names.

So, Sushumna is the middle channel. Indian color is the color of a candle flame. Almost you can see through it.

It looks like fire. Like glistening. Like crystal.

And beautiful. White taste is just like coconut. So, Idli also has that blue color.

You can also call Sun channel. And Moon channel. This is another name.

You can use this name. Different names. In Sanskrit, in India, Sun's usual name is Surya.

It came into solar, in English. And the Moon channel is called Chandra. And it came into English as incandescent.

So, you can call the red one, you can also call Sun channel. And the white one, you can call Moon channel. But in old Vedic language, old Indian language, Sun and Moon have different names.

The red one is called Ha. Sun. The white one is called Ka.

You have to curl your tongue back. So together, what is the name in the old Vedic for red channel and white channel? Hot tub.

Hot tub. So in America, they call it Hatha yoga. It really is hot tub.

[Говорящий 2]
It means Sun channel and Moon channel.

[Говорящий 1]
They join the Sushumna at the bottom. At the bottom. There is a picture in there of three connected channels.

I don't know if you can see. At the bottom, the red one curls under. No, there is a pipe.

There is a three-way pipe. Like that. And the white one curls under.

Back into the Sushumna. You can find it on your own time. We call it four-unbelief.

Four two. Under your belly button. This is where the connection.

And these three are connected. No. They are like pipes.

They are like empty pipes. They are a little bit fatter than this. The two, red and white channel, they are about the size of a small McDonald's straw.

And the one in the middle, Sushumna, is about as big as a fat pen. Inside the channel, is moving something. It's not water.

What's the name? Prana. Say Prana.

Pra-na. Pra-na. Pra-na.

Pra-na. Pra- means front, or strong. In English, it's proud.

Proud of the boat is the front of the boat. Forward also comes from the same word. So proud means in the front.

An means to breathe. So what do we call in English that thing which is a breathing thing? Animal.

Animal means breathing thing. So Pra-na means breath. It means energy of life.

And this is moving inside of these three channels. So I'm going to need the horse. Pra-na is moving inside of these three channels.

In Chinese, it's called Qi, right? In Japan, it's called Ki. In Korea, Ki.

In Tibetan, Mu. Mu. I have Mu.

Pra-na is like a horse. It means color is like the color is like water. And clear, clear color.

But it is a physical thing. It's not mental, and it's not energy. It's a physical thing.

Part of physical body. There's a very beautiful thing. On...

Pra-na is like a horse. And on top of the Pra-na, something is riding, like this guy. On top of the Pra-na is riding your thoughts.

When you are thinking hard, your Pra-na is moving a lot. When you are thinking a lot, your Ki is on top. I teach you a very important word in Tibetan.

Say it with me. Say Lu. Sen.

Jupa. Jipa. Lu.

Sen. Jipa. Jipa.

Jipa. Jipa. Jipa.

Lu means Pra-na. It's energy moving inside this channel. Sen means your thought.

Jupa Jipa means they always ride together. Jupa Jipa means they always ride together. Like this horse and this guy.

Pra-na never moves without thought. Thought cannot move without Pra-na. Lu.

Sen. Jipa. They always ride together.

OK, next thing. Inside the Sushumna, when the Pra-na moves in the Sushumna, you have very good thoughts. You are kind.

You are kind. You have love. At work, you have good ideas.

If you can bring the prana into the sushumna, you feel happy. You feel relaxed. You feel smart.

And you have many good ideas. My father, he told me, 1981, he told me, you start a business. We will give the money to the poor people.

I said, I don't know anything about business. That time I was a monk for 8 years. Living in the monastery.

My family. Then I said, I don't want to do business. He said, no problem.

You just put the prana into the sushumna. Then you can do anything. Because then all good ideas will come to you.

You will be relaxed and you will be happy. And we did, ok? We did a good business.

It was sold last April to Warren Buffet. $260 million dollars. So, if the prana is moving into the sushumna, you understand everything easily.

You feel happy. And you have love for all of you. You take care of all of you.

So, if we can get the prana into the sushumna, we feel very happy. But there is a problem. These two guys.

I like to call them the bad guys. Sometimes I will call them side channels. Sometimes I will call them the bad guys.

We are the bad guys, ok? Inside this channel, inside Pingala, when the prana moves, you feel upset. Yeah, like that.

Phone is ringing in my cloud. Then my prana is moving in the middle. Ok?

So, feel nervous. Angry. Upset.

Worry. These are all in the red channel.

[Говорящий 2]
Prana is moving in the red channel.

[Говорящий 1]
I think that's why it's color red. It's angry. Then, white channel.

I want, I want, I want, I want. It's ok to want a little bit. Anything is ok.

Today, Mercedes and Ningbo, they are my helper. I said, Mishla, you have to go, in five minutes, you have to go to give the talk. I said, I didn't eat anything for a long time.

He said, ok, there is a little tray. Many good things on the tray. There are some olives.

And there is an apple. And there are six cookies. Biscuits.

What did I eat? Six cookies. One cookie, ok.

One cookie, because it will make me strong. That prana is moving in the middle channel. If I like, one cookie.

How to go? Ok, I take two with me. Then I eat six cookies.

Then the prana starts moving there. Then the prana is moving in the right channel. I want more money.

If you want more money calmly, happily, properly, then it's moving in the peace channel. If you are pushing people, I need more money, I need more prana, I want, I want, I want. Then the prana moves to the left channel.

When you cannot control your wants, that is moving in the left channel. When you cannot control your anger, it's moving in the right channel. When you feel happy and smart, and logical, I have to give a talk.

I should be smart. I should have a little bit of apple, a little bit of orange, maybe one bite of one cookie. This prana is moving in the middle channel.

So, you have to understand, the prana supply is limited. There is only a certain amount of prana in the body. They are connected at the bottom, right?

They are connected there, right? You go to yoga. You feel happy.

The prana is moving in the center. And it comes out of the pendala, and it comes out of the earth, and goes into the center. And you feel relaxed.

You feel happy. Then you get in your car. And you go to the private view studio.

Somebody opens the door. What do you do? Then the prana moves out of the session room.

It moves into the right channel. There is not enough prana for all three. Only enough prana for one.

So, if you get upset, then the good thought will stop, and all the prana will go to the dumb, the right channel. So, for example, in business, if you stay calm, if there is a problem, you can think more clearly. If you get upset, prana is moving out of the...

into the right channel. The horse went to the right channel. Mind must follow.

Mind doesn't have choice. Where the prana goes, the mind must go. If you want a cookie, too much, during that time, your mind becomes stupid.

If you feel angry, for that time, 5 minutes or 10 minutes or 2-10 years, you feel your mind becomes stupid. Because the mind is riding on the prana. And the prana went to the right channel.

You want some more bad news? There is more bad news. The right channel is here.

When the right channel comes here, it doesn't go straight. It crosses the middle channel. This is difficult.

Then it comes right. Then it comes back. Back.

Like that. Crosses. Comes back.

I don't know if I can do it. But I have to do this. Then the white one, also crosses.

Are you there? Is he there? It crosses over also.

It also crosses. So you have here a knot. In Sanskrit language, they call it granthi.

Granthi. In Tibetan, they say duba. So it means these two side channels cross over.

It comes back. Is that the computer point? I like to show with my computer point.

The central channel is the cell phone point. Pingala and Ida are the two computer laptop points. So if you leave your wires in your hotel, like I do, you can use cell phone point and laptop point.

You have to teach this to them. Now, big question. If you feel angry, let's say you feel competition.

He is doing headstand. Looks better than my headstand. Then you feel a little bit angry, right?

Where is the Qi? In the red channel. Qi came out of the middle channel, went into the red channel.

This three brothers did better than me. Then all the prana comes into the red channel. This one gets fatter.

Like balloons. Gets fatter. This one is fatter.

And it chokes the middle channel. So the horse cannot pass that knot. The horse is stuck.

Prana cannot move. It cannot have a good thought. This one got fat.

And now this one is choking. On the sixth cookie. Cookie number six.

This white one is very fat. It's choking the middle channel. Then usually these two come together, right?

I want Starbucks today. I want Starbucks today. It's 2 o'clock in the morning and Starbucks is closed.

I can't believe this is Hong Kong. This is a great city. Why don't they have a Starbucks in Hong Kong?

What's wrong with this city? Hong Kong is a good city. So desire channel changes to anger channel.

Very easy. I want Starbucks. Oh, I can't believe Hong Kong.

Choking, choking. Choking both sides. Anger and desire come together.

Together. So this happens once here. And here.

And here. Now at the heart. Bad news.

There is good news tomorrow. Three times. The knot is three times.

So at your heart three times. The heart is where love comes from. And peace.

It's choked at the heart. Today I went to yoga class. I won't tell you the teacher.

They said, heart chakra, then they point here.

[Говорящий 2]
For name of chakra, they point here. But you have to go like this.

[Говорящий 1]
It's in front of the spine. You have a chakra in the front, but very small and not very strong. All these knots are in the back.

You have to know these things to do the yoga. Day after tomorrow, I'm going to tell you, OK, think about your heart knot. Put your mind at the heart knot.

People hear heart, then they start to think about here. So day after tomorrow I say, think about the knot at your heart. You have to put the mind in the back.

Heart chakra, heart knot, doesn't mean at the heart. It means at the level of the heart. Same at the knee.

Now, a very interesting thing. I need the wheel. Can you get the wheel?

OK. Think about Sushumna is like the water hose for the fire truck. You know they are shooting the water in the hose, right?

If you bend the hose, what happens? The water stops. But here also gets fire, fire, fire.

If you keep sending water, and it is bent, then it will split. It will split. You will lose it.

Then it will split out, right? OK. Now, you have to look at Sushumna from the top.

You are looking down, from the top versus him. Sit here. No, no.

OK. OK. Now, I am going to look down at his Sushumna.

He is thinking about why the talk is so long. It is so hot in here. I guess he might be talking too much.

Then, there is a big knot. Then that knot got stuck. It split out.

So, when I look down at Sushumna's head, when I look down at Sushumna, I see split out, channel. That is the wheel. Then you...

Oh, sorry. Then you see the wheel, OK? You can see the wheel.

What is the Sanskrit name for wheel? Chakra. Not Chakra, OK?

Say Chakra. Chakra means wheel. Now, you tell me why it is called Chakra.

Why is it called Chakra? I will give you a clue, OK? Suggesting.

Because it looks just like a wheel. From the top, you can see the spokes coming out. From the top, the heart is top.

Then it splits. Sushumna splits. At the heart, 8 channels come out.

[Говорящий 2]
When you look down, it looks like a wheel.

[Говорящий 1]
That is why it is called Chakra. I heard all these stupid people say stupid things about Chakra. They don't know anything.

They didn't study anything. Oh, Chakra is a very beautiful color. It is a sweet color.

It is a very happy Chakra. It is not like that, OK? Chakra is choking.

Chakra is choking. We say, Chakra is why people die. We say, Chakra is why people die.

People get old because of Chakra. People die because of Chakra. People feel unhappy because of Chakra.

It cannot move, the Chakra cannot move. Because the Qi cannot move, you feel unhappy. So you spend your life, if you have nice, tight Chakras, beautiful, tight Chakras, you will make you old.

It will make you weak. It hurts your body. It causes death.

And it makes you unhappy. All together, all the problems are these Chakras and these knots. There are two times in your whole life when this knot comes off.

Automatically. Without trying. You don't have to try.

When you die, the Chakra opens automatically. Everybody's Chakra opens, and when they die. In the monastery, we say, is he dead yet?

You say, no, the blood didn't come. The pee didn't come. The poop didn't come out.

When the Chakra relax, you can't control pee, you can't control poop, you can't control the blood, it all comes out. We say, person is dead. When the Chakra opens, then the urine release and the feces release.

So everybody's Chakra opens when they die. Automatically. You don't have to do asana, no problem.

There's another time when you have sex. In the moment that woman's liquid release or man's liquid release, this Chakra is open. And you feel something like this.

This is the opening of the central Chakra. It lasts for maybe half minute. One minute.

Then this channel goes tighter. I want more. This feels good.

Why my wife doesn't have my specialty? All the white and red get tighter. So that is not a good yoga method.

We say, when people like sex, people want sex. That's not right. Because what they want is to open the knot.

What they want is to open the Chakra. If you can open the Chakra, completely, by using yoga, by using asana, if you open this knot, which I cannot do right now, sorry. It's safe inside.

If you can open it, especially the heart Chakra, especially the heart Chakra, if you can open it, you do love. You feel love for everybody. It's like water is pouring, you can see like water pouring out of your chest.

At that time, the mind is also free. You can see other people in other places. In one moment, you can see people in Beijing, or you can see people in Bangkok, or you can see people in New York, in the same time.

With your love. With your eyes closed. You can see their face.

Person in another city. If you open all the way, heart Chakra, you can see people on countless planets. You can see countless living beings on countless worlds.

And you feel complete love for them. You can also see the future. And when it opens the first time, you see countless beings on countless worlds.

And you feel love for them. And you can see that in the future, very soon, you will take care of all of them like their mommy. You will go to their place.

You will take care of them yourself. Correct? At the same time.

Because when all the Chakra opens, the body changes into light. And you can go to those places. At the same time.

You can sit on every bus in Hong Kong at the same time. You can talk to every lonely old person on every bus in Hong Kong at the same time. You can take care of every sick person in Hong Kong at the same time.

This is the goal of you. Also you can reach a second important goal. You can lose weight.

We have a few minutes if you have any questions. We have five minutes. If you have a question, I will answer the question.

If you don't have a question, I can go more about this thing. But you are welcome to ask me. Two ways to prove.

You can cut the body. You won't see the blood. It is physical.

But you can't measure it with the human eye. Human eye cannot see blood. But if you meditate, you can see.

You can see how it is flowing. I met some good yoga teachers in America. They didn't go to the monastery for 26 years.

They didn't ever hear these things. But they understand from their own experience very well. You cannot cut open and see these things.

But if you do a good yoga practice, or if you do a good meditation practice, you can see. When you open that heart chakra, what I said you can see. Think about how your life will change at the moment.

I saw every person in this world. I saw their face together in one minute. I saw all of them.

And I saw a future at the same time. A future that I will take care of. So, after that, are you going to get upset about Starbucks closing early in Hong Kong?

On a bad day, it is possible. But mostly your life is very, very, very, very happy. And nothing can make you very sad or cause you much pain.

OK, another question. He wants to know if there is a limited amount of prana in the body at certain amount of time or many, many times. You are born with a certain amount of prana.

You can lose prana. Not many people gain prana. But mostly the amount in the body is fixed.

But what that means is that when prana leaves one of the three main channels, it has to go to another channel. If you get angry, you cannot be smart at that moment. If you are always thinking about business, you can't think about your job or your love.

So, in that sense, there is a limited amount of prana. When prana enters one channel, it must leave the other channel. At the end of this process, at the end of this process, the two, this is a good question, the two bad guys, all the prana comes out.

Your wisdom, your love is so strong, all the prana is moving in the system. The sushumna gets fat. It pushes off the two bad guys.

In Sanskrit, push is dhruti. Off is aba. Second name for sushumna is abhidhuti.

It throws off the off of things. Abhidhuti. When that day comes, these two channels disappear.

These two channels disappear. They withdraw into the sushumna. Then the ha and the ta join together inside the sushumna.

No more anger. No more cookies. You can still eat cookies, but you won't lose your temper.

What is that called?

[Говорящий 2]
Hatha Yoga.

[Говорящий 1]
The name is the goal. Hatha Yoga means I want to join my ha and my ta inside my sushumna. Then I came to Hatha Yoga.

Maybe one more. Yeah. We also call a wheel, which is korlo.

Tomorrow, we will learn all the names. We will learn what they look like. How to open each one.

So tomorrow, what we have to learn? How to use the asana to open this knot? How to open this knot?

We have one more minute. What do you think is the first thing you can do to open? These are twisted around the sushumna.

So, Lady Nygula said, first, at each chakra, first asana should twist. Untwist. At each chakra, you must do a twist.

To untwist the knot. What do you think is the second thing to do? You have to make straight.

That's a stretch. So at each chakra, Lady Nygula says, first, untwist. This is straightening.

Third one. I got them untwisted. Almost.

And they are straight. Where do I want the planet to go? If you want to be angry, you want it to go here.

If you want to be unhappy about the other person's wife, you can make it go here. If you want to be satisfied, contented, wise, intelligent, compassionate, you want it to go here. So, Nygula's third step.

First, untwist. Second, straighten. Then, sucking the prana.

Bring the prana into the system. Bring it out of here, bring it into here. Like some panda.

Bring the prana into the system. If you bring it in, it's going to get a little bit stuck down there. So, they call it, Thich Nhat Dhamma.

Thich Nhat Dhamma means, shake it out and distribute it. It's going to be stuck here. You bring it in with the prana, but then you have to distribute it.

That's called Thich Nhat Dhamma. So, Lady Nygula said, every chakra, you have to do four of these. First one, untwist.

Second one, straighten. Third one, gather in the prana. And fourth one, distribute.

Distribute it. And I think that's enough. Because if I tell you too many things, you won't remember.

So, I ask you please, write down, if you have time tonight, you see there are many lines, empty lines. If you want to help other people, write something down tonight. As much as you remember.

Fill up this whole slide with your own writing. Oh, he said Lady Nygula was very beautiful. Like that.

But you should write down. It's very, very old and very beautiful, yeah? The system is very beautiful.

And it's very real. It's very authentic, right? And if you try it, yourself, the day after tomorrow, you will see something different.

Because it works. Because you understand. So, tomorrow we talk more about deeper points about how this works.

Tomorrow we do shinran tathagato and back, OK? You have to come tomorrow, and you won't know what it is. Then, nobody likes to come to these talks.

Everybody wants to go to yoga. But you, I think yours, your shunran must be open. Yeah, that's why.

You came here to understand what you are doing. It's like an investment. Then, when you do the ashram, it's much, much stronger.

And you understand what is the goal. The goal is to help other people. To change your body into light.

Good night. Today we talk about a special yoga called nirvana yoga. My idea was to talk today and to talk tomorrow about nirvana yoga.

And then, the day after that, in the afternoon we will actually do the yoga itself. So, two days we talk about it, then on the third day we do yoga. So, first I'd like to tell you about who the guru was.

Then we'll talk about the yoga. But I think first, to talk a little bit about the reason to do yoga. Yugoma lived a thousand years ago.

And she was a great yoga practitioner. She lived in India. And she had a special idea about why to do yoga.

I think, I don't know about you, I do yoga because I want to stay strong. I don't want to be fat. I like to have energy.

This is a lot of the reason why I do yoga. But Yugoma was different. Her yoga is very special.

And the reason to do yoga is to change the heart. She has special yoga poses for getting rid of anger, for example. Or jealousy.

Or wanting things too much. So I think, when I found out about Yugoma, then I thought, oh, this is very good for modern people. Especially a lot of business people.

And they have a lot of trouble in their office. They have a lot of angry customers and angry bosses. And I thought that when I learned about this kind of yoga, I thought this is very good for working people, normal people.

So my idea about the reason to do Yugoma's yoga and the reason to learn Yugoma's yoga is to make our mind more calm. And we are working to teach it to many working people. We are now trying to teach this yoga to these working people.

We just did a training in Taipei for yoga teachers. And we are going to be teaching Yugoma's yoga to working people. Working people don't have two hours to go to yoga and especially in Taipei, for example, and Hong Kong, we are thinking a lot about the women who are working.

In Taipei, the women are now in many families, the women are making more money than the men. But still the work of taking care of the children is given not to the men but to the women. And also, I don't know, if you know, especially in Taipei, when they come home, the woman has to drop the cooking oil.

So maybe the woman now in Taipei, maybe she is the main worker, she is making most of the money in the family. She is working not 8 hours but 10 hours a day. She has to go to, also before work, she has to take the children to school and also before work, she has to take the children to school.

Drop them off at the military and when they get home, when she comes home, she has to cook for them. So really in many countries the woman is working from, I don't know, 6 o'clock in the morning to maybe 10 o'clock at night just to feed the family and make a living. In all of the commons that commons were teaching us, they used to come to the men, now they are coming to the women.

So the woman feels nervous, she starts to get anxiety, starting to eat poorly, spending all day on the computer, then it makes the body old and the woman loses her energy. I think it would be very good if those working people could learn to be a yoga master. But they don't have time.

They can't go leave work at 10 o'clock and go to the yoga class and spend an hour and a half going and coming, it's taking hours. So if there was a kind of yoga which doesn't take this time, but is very powerful, and easy to do, doesn't take much time, very powerful, easy to do, I think it's most important thing for the world to help those working people. So Nigula's yoga, the purpose of Nigula's yoga for Nigula was to help people's mind and the stress and the anxiety during the time of their working.

So we are going to spend two days talking about how that yoga works in your body. And where that yoga came from. And then we will, on the third day, we will do yoga together, if you like.

It's not difficult yoga. It's for beginning people. Because I think many of the kinds of yoga are too difficult for the working people.

So we will talk about what kind of yoga which is good for working people, easy to do, but still I think it is more powerful than the other kinds of yoga. But we have to explain why. We have to talk about the reason why it is more powerful.

So I think what's fun for me first is to talk about where did this yoga come from. And so first we have to talk about Nibbāla herself. Nibbāla.

Is that Nibbāla?

[Говорящий 2]
It's too small. That's it.

[Говорящий 1]
She has lived a long time ago, so she is very hard to see. It's too small. So Nibbāla was born a thousand years ago.

And I want to tell you the story of how she came to be a yogi. So I don't know what you heard, there is a famous yoga yogi from India called Naropa. In America there is a university, its name is Naropa University.

So Naropa lived exactly a thousand years ago in India. And he was a prince. So his family had a lot of money, very wealthy.

And he liked spiritual things. He wasn't very interested in being a king. But of course his family wanted him to be a king.

And his father and his mother always pushing him to get married. He has to produce another king. So they were pushing him, pushing him, pushing him for many years to find a wife.

Then he finally he got tired of it. So he said, OK, I will get married. But you have to find the girl for me.

She should be, I think she was 16 years old. Her name should be Nikuma. Some people say, some people say she has another name.

And she should be a very good Hindu. Daughter of a Brahmin. And she should be also a very good Buddhist.

In India at that time this is impossible. It's like you said she should be Christian and Muslim in Iraq. So Naropa thought they will never find this girl.

Not possible to find. Not possible to find a girl like that. And the king also thought maybe not possible.

So he asked two of his ministers to go find her. They spent one year looking for her. Then in a small village in Bangal, in India they are almost there.

They were very very tired and they sat down to rest. And they saw a well, a village with a well. There was a very beautiful girl came.

And she had a bucket. And she started to get the water. It's very difficult.

Supposed to pull up the water.

[Говорящий 2]
But something happened.

[Говорящий 1]
She stabbed her finger and the water came up in the bucket. Then they thought, oh, she is pretty special. Then she saw them.

She was very afraid. Then she said, who are you? And they said, oh, we are just travelers.

She said, maybe you need some water. So she went to them and she helped wash them and she gave them water. In her mind, she is a Buddhist, Bodhisattva.

Then they said, what is your name? She said, my name is Nikumar. Then they were very excited, very happy.

Then they said, what is your religion? She said, I am Hindu. Oh, I see, Hindu.

My father is a Brahmin. Then they said, then they told her, OK, look, we are actually, we are very big government people. And our king had a son.

And he is supposed to get married. But he refused and he said they are supposed to look for maybe Nikumar, who is a Hindu, who is acting like a Buddhist husband. Then they thought, well, she will be very happy.

Now she can be a queen. She didn't care much. She is a very special person.

She said, I have to ask my father. I have to ask my father. Then they went to ask her.

She said, don't ask him tonight. You wait until morning. And in the morning, the father finished his Hindu people have to do the Brahmin have to wash and all that special.

And after he finished, then one strange man also came with him. And the two ministers asked him, they explained, our boss is a king and he has a son and he wants to marry your daughter. Then the Brahmin said, I heard about this king.

You are all Buddhist people. He said, I am Brahmin, Hindu. You are Buddhist.

You cannot marry my daughter.

[Говорящий 2]
Then the king said, You are all Buddhist people.

[Говорящий 1]
You cannot marry my daughter. So he went into the house and closed the door. And then the two ministers are talking to each other.

And they said, this is the girl. Definitely this is the girl. If we can't bring her back, it's better we should die.

So they sleep near the door. They didn't eat anything. Didn't drink anything.

And got very sick. The boss is dead. Then the people walking by, they asked him, what are you doing on the Brahmin's porch?

He said, we are, they explained, we want her to be the queen, the princess, and the father is a shithead. So we decided to stay here until we die. Then more and more people came.

And they got upset at the Brahmin. So they started chanting, We want the queen. We want the queen.

Then all the people got angry. All the people started cheering for the two ministers. And finally, the Brahmin broke down and he agreed to give his daughter.

So he went to the palace and actually, they gave him a very nice dinner and lots of gold and he was very happy. He thought, it's ok, she can marry here. And when Nyinguma saw Naropa, then she knew, this is my husband.

And this is also my teacher. She understood in that moment, in the first moment that she saw him, she understood, this is my teacher. So very happy story, they got married.

And he already studied a lot of Buddhism. And he started teaching about Buddhism. And then, I think they lived like that for 8 years.

But then Naropa really wanted to go study more in the Buddhist country. He wanted to learn yoga also. So he went to...

He told his wife, I would like to go study more, I'd like to become a monk. Then she said, you know, in India, still now, there is no custom, the woman cannot have divorce, not possible. And she told him, only if the woman is being bad with another man, then it's possible to get divorce, they may allow.

And she said, I want to stay with you. And if you go to study, I will follow you. So I have an idea.

You tell your father, the king and the queen, you tell them something. You say, that I went with another man, I completed adultery. You lie to king and queen.

Then they will agree, you can leave. And they will agree to divorce. And then you leave, and I will follow you.

You do as you want, you become monk, you can study, I don't have to live with you, I will stay outside the dormitory, but I will always study with you, and I will always serve you, and I will always stay there. So they did, they did the plan. And all the parents, the Brahmin's father, the king and queen, all very upset.

And Nygma sacrificed her most important position, which is her reputation. And Naropa went to study. He studied all over North India.

He studied some in Kashmir, which is in the west, and he studied a lot in Bengal, which is in the east. And he became very famous. He was a great debater.

And later he became the head, the abbot of Nalanda Monastery. This is the most important monastery he did in history. And he became the abbot.

So he was the most famous scholar, and most famous teacher in India in his time. He became the most famous person. And one day he was sitting outside the monastery under a tree.

And he was reading a very difficult book. This is a logic book. Logic.

Then came one old woman. She is very special. Very old.

And they say she had 37 different kinds of ugliness. Big nose. Hair is pulled out.

Teeth are all broken. Smells very bad. Then she said, Oh, Naropa.

What are you doing?

[Говорящий 2]
What are you doing?

[Говорящий 1]
I am reading a very difficult scripture. I am the greatest scholar in Indian Buddhism. Then she said, Oh, do you understand the words?

I don't understand the words. Then she started to dance. Like crazy, she was dancing.

Then she stopped. Then she said, Oh, Naropa. Do you understand the meaning?

She said, I am Naropa. Of course I understand the meaning. Then she started to cry.

Yeah, this way. And then, Naropa was confused. He said, You ask me if I know the words.

I said yes. You start to dance. Then you ask me if I know the meaning.

I said yes. Then you start to cry. Why?

What is the problem? Then she said, When you answer me I know the words, I know you are telling the truth. And when you start to understand the meaning, I saw a Buddhist monk tell a lie.

Of course I have to cry. Then he said, I am the greatest monk in India. If I don't understand the meaning, who understands?

Naropa understands. Naropa was a little bit proud. He said, Who is this Naropa?

Tell him to come. I will talk to him. Then the old woman said, The student doesn't tell the teacher to come.

The student has to go to the teacher. Then she disappeared. Then Naropa flied.

And then he think, Something strange happened in his mind. He said, she is telling the truth. Maybe I really don't understand.

Maybe I need to find a better teacher, a nurse. So, strange thing happened in his mind. He went back to the monastery.

Nalanda monastery. And he made an announcement. He said, I am leaving the monastery.

And I am giving up my job. Everyone says, you are crazy. You are the most famous monk in India.

I understand something, but I don't understand the meaning. And I have to find, I heard the name of Tilopa. I have to find Tilopa.

So, he looked for many years for Tilopa. He went to the jungle. Tried to find Tilopa.

There are many beautiful stories. Tilopa gave him many tests. For example, for a long time he couldn't find a teacher.

And he tried, many many strange people came to him. Each one was Tilopa. But, he didn't know who was Tilopa.

And each one hurt him in different way. Then one day, he is in the jungle, and he decides, he is very sad. In this life, I cannot meet Tilopa.

It is better to die. Go to that side. Maybe I can meet him there.

So, he also got a knife. In India, you don't cut here, you have to cut there. And he started to cut.

Then the Tilopa came. Stop that. Stop that.

I have to teach you now. Then they started a very strange relationship. Tilopa took him to the top of a very high building, like this one.

Tilopa sat on the roof like this. It is very far. And, he said, Tilopa, you sit next to me.

No human has to touch you. Then, Tilopa is looking at the sky. Nowadays, you can't find good students.

They are all stupid. They are all lazy. They have no faith.

If I had a real student, he would jump off this roof. So, Naropa said, Oh, he wants me to jump.

[Говорящий 2]
So, Naropa jumped.

[Говорящий 1]
He fell like six times onto the ground. He broke many bones. He is lying on the ground like this.

Then, Tilopa came down very slowly. Then, he looked at Naropa. Naropa, what the hell are you doing?

He said, you said if you had a good disciple, he would jump. He said, you are so stupid. Then, he slapped him.

He slapped him on the face. He broke his leg. He tried.

He was so stupid. Then, Naropa didn't get upset. He believed him.

He didn't lose his faith. He said, please teach me. Please teach me.

So, Tilopa said, OK, you come with me to heaven. He touched his body like this. All the bones are fixed.

Then, Naropa was very happy. He thought, now I will get a big teaching. Then, they came to a river.

You know the rest of the story. At that place, they went. Tilopa said, if I have a good student, he will go into this ice, snow river.

He will build a bridge for his teacher. After that, they saw a big elephant, many elephants. There is one beautiful bride.

It's a wedding. It's one king and one queen. It's a general's daughter.

Many many soldiers are coming behind him. Tilopa said, if I have a real disciple, he will pull the girl down from the elephant and throw dirt on her. If I have a real disciple, he will pull the bride down from the elephant and throw dirt on her.

So, of course, Naropa did. Then, all the soldiers came and beat him. So, it went like that.

Finally, one day, Tilopa taught Naropa. Mainly, he taught in Yoga. So, Naropa studied with Tilopa.

We call the six Yogas of Naropa. He became very very good in Yoga. Then, he taught Nygoma.

Then, he and Nygoma stayed together for the rest of their life. Nygoma became very very good in Yoga. She had a special school.

There is a big river in India called Ganges. On this river, there is an island. This island name is Sosa.

So, Nygoma started a school there. All the ladies come. Special school for ladies.

Only women. They study Yoga together. She taught them how to do Yoga.

The Yoga which you will learn the day after tomorrow, is this Yoga. She taught them very well. Actually, later, they all learn to fly.

They have Yoga class in the sky. You don't believe it. Nowadays, people are much more stupid than before.

But they have the class in the sky. Then, there was a Tibetan monk. His name was Khenpo Nyaldra.

He heard about Nygoma. One day, he heard the name Nygoma. Sometimes, when you hear your teacher's name, you know, this is my teacher.

So, he lives in Tibet. It's 1000 miles. It's the highest mountain.

He was talking to some Tibetan people who came back from India. They said, Oh, there is this Yoga teacher named Nygoma. Then, he heard her name.

He thought, Oh, I have to see Nygoma. So, he went. He sold all his things.

In those days, you have to give Yoga teacher one bag of gold. You have to give the teacher everything you own. Everything.

This is the cost of Yoga class. So, he went. He sold all his things.

He got a bag of gold dust. He went to India. Very difficult.

It takes, you have to walk for 3-4 months. He reached the Ganga river. He got to Sosa island.

He came to the island. He looked around. There is nobody.

Why? You are in the sky. She is pretty.

So, then he heard a noise. They are practicing Yoga. They are everywhere.

Then, he saw in the sky, there is Nygoma. Then, he said, You are Nygoma. I know it.

Please teach me. She looked down. She said, I am not Nygoma.

I am the devil. I am going to eat you. You should run.

Then, he said, No, no, I believe you are Nygoma. But still he covered his head. One arm is covering the head.

One holding the gold. I have gold. Then, he dropped the gold.

He picked something up. She is still in the sky. She opened the gold.

She threw it in the wind. It all flows to the trees. All the trees are very beautiful.

They have gold. She said, OK, I will teach you. She picked it up.

She flew. To a very high mountain. He was tired from walking from Tibet.

He fell asleep. She laid on the top of the mountain. She put him on the mountain.

She came into his dream. She taught him this yoga which you have learned. Then, he woke up later.

Oh, I had a strange dream. Somebody teaching me yoga. Strange.

But I think not true. Then, she said, you are very stupid. I will teach you a second time.

So, she taught him yoga a second time. Awake. Then, he came back to Tibet.

She told him, I don't remember. I think it is seven generations. Each person can only teach one person.

Cannot teach to two people. Can only teach to one person in your life. This yoga.

So, for seven generations, this yoga was only taught to one student in the teacher's lifetime. Later, it came. We call it Gelugpa.

Gelugpa is where I was trained. It was passed on inside Gelugpa for almost 600 years. Now, it came to us.

Now, they allow to teach more people. So, we think it is good to understand where the yoga comes from. And, who taught it first time?

And, what are the names of all the teachers and I? And, we sing in the monastery. We sing the names of the teachers in the monastery.

We have up to now 37 teachers. And, you are number 38. I really think it is a very big responsibility to learn this yoga.

Then, you have to learn it well. So, we gave you one paper. It has some pictures on it.

I want to explain who these people are. First picture is Niguma. Her tribe name, her people's name is Nigu.

And, Ma means woman in Tibetan language. So, Niguma means the lady who comes from the Nigu people. But, there is a secret tradition.

It says her real name was Nirguna. Nirguna means Kongxin, means emptiness. When you say shinjin, like that, when you say that, this meaning is Nirguna in Indian language.

We say her real name is Kongxin. Then, below that, in the little picture, there is one guy, he is holding out his arms like that. This is her spiritual partner.

This is Naropa. When he does yoga, he dresses like that. He is a monk, but he wears a hair a little bit long.

This is a monk's yoga costume. We have a book which shows his yoga. Tomorrow, I will bring a copy.

I show it to you. But, I put one page here. You can see all the exercises.

Then, on the bottom and on the right side, these are two teachers who taught this yoga before. So, this is the history of this yoga. Now, I want to tell you how it works.

We believe, if you understand how yoga works, it is more powerful. If you don't understand how it works, it is not so powerful. We believe you must do in a special way the yoga.

If you do it the wrong way, then it is not so powerful. Why are we studying Nikuma Yoga? For working people.

This yoga, I would like to see this yoga, especially women who are working so hard so many hours. They can do this yoga in half an hour in the morning. Or 45 minutes.

They can do it in their house. It is not difficult. The poses are not special.

They are not strange. There are strange poses in the monastery, but I am not going to show you. These are poses that almost all of them are usual poses.

But there is a special way to do them. And it makes the body very strong. And it makes the mind very happy.

If you do Nikuma Yoga in the morning, then you go to your job. The job will change. The boss will change.

The salary will change. You see, this is very powerful. So, I have to explain to you how does it change your boss?

How does it change your office? How does it change your life? Buddha said, Don't believe what I am saying because you like Geshe Michael.

Check what he said. See if it works. If it works, then you can do it.

If it doesn't work, then you tell Geshe Michael, you are a very nice teacher, I like you very much, but I am not going to do your work. So, now we start to learn how does Nikuma Yoga work. And this is something very beautiful to understand.

And my teacher taught me in the monastery. So, I was 25 years, 26 years in the monastery. And in yoga, they teach you at the end.

Because it is considered very special. But if you meet a special people, you can teach them the yoga first. And then after you explain it to them.

In our monastery, they explain it first, and then they teach you the asana. To learn the inside, inside part of yoga, in my training, we started Vajrayogini in 1978, something like that. So, we have to study almost 20 years before we can learn asana.

And I will show you how they teach asana in the monastery. So, I gave you three wives. We won't finish it.

Do you have a watch? Can I borrow? I will sell outside.

I will bring it somewhere. OK. OK.

Do you need a break? Let's forget the break. They are not giving instructions to me.

OK. So, this is how we learn about yoga in the monastery. This is how they teach.

This is how we learn in the monastery. Do you have a channel, a mug? I think there is two.

Oh, nice. I keep this one too.

[Говорящий 2]
OK.

[Говорящий 1]
In the monastery, they teach with a mug. And very complicated. And I am not crazy to use a mug.

I want to teach you against the virus. Then you will be ruined. If I just do it with my mother, you will forget.

So, first take this one. And I'd like to thank Rob and Jessica. They work to find these things.

OK. I'd like to thank Rob and Jessica. This is called Sushumna.

This is called Sushumna. So you heard, some yoga people, you heard the word Sushumna. Some yoga people, you heard the word Sushumna.

In Tibet, we call it Sentokchen. In Tibet, we call it If you don't have a wire, you can raise your hand. If you don't have a wire, you can raise your hand.

In Tibet, In Tibet, they call it Tsa Uma. Tsa Uma. Tsa means tarot.

And Uma means in the middle. So, I want to show you where is this Sushumna. This one starts here.

Under the bone. Let's say about a half inch inside. And then it goes under the skull, under the bone.

It goes back. And it goes down your neck. Comes out of the out from under the skull.

Comes out here. Then goes down inside the spine. Half inch.

Then comes down here. Goes under. Comes up here.

Then it comes to the tip of the organ. And on the woman, it comes to the top of the vagina. And this is Sushumna.

We can call Sentokchen. Then there is another one. Red one.

You have the red one? Which starts here? On the right side.

Little bit down. Then it goes up. And it follows on the right side.

Under the skull. It is going next to the Sushumna. And it comes under the skull and it follows the Sushumna.

In Tibetan, they call Roma. Say Roma. In India, they call Pingala.

Pingala means red color. The word Ping comes from Pingala. You can also say red channel.

It follows very close to the middle channel. And it goes the same way. Down to the Muladhara.

Then it has a small channel goes down your leg. On the right side. What is this one?

The white one. Left channel. It goes down the left side of the main channel.

It comes down little bit here. It goes up next to the Sentokchen. It follows down.

Then one branch goes down your leg. Then there are many small branches. We say there are 72,000 small channels.

And in the yoga text in India, they say same, 72,000 channels. So I'm going to give you the Indian name for the white channel. It's called Indra.

You have to turn your tongue back. Indra. Indra.

You turn your tongue back. Indra. Indra.

Yeah, like Pandita. OK? Or Mandala.

OK, you got it. That's why in India, you don't have to talk in English. So, you go...

Now, some bad news. Oh wait, I'll tell you good news first. I put on the back of your paper, here are the Indian names.

So, Sushumna is the middle term. Indra color is the color of a candle flame. Almost you can see through it.

It looks like fire. Like glistening. Like crystal.

And beautiful.
