[Говорящий 3] Does everybody have a binder? [Говорящий 2] Yeah? Did somebody get one? If you didn't get one, raise your hand. Should we grab one with this one? [Говорящий 1] Yeah, it's great. Okay, we'll start. I was here last winter, December or something. Anybody was here? Okay, well, I told the story, but you're going to hear it again. So, I studied in a Tibetan monastery for 25 years. So then, in our monastery, they don't have yoga, okay? There's no asana. And we only studied the inner channels, chakras. We studied that for about 22 years. And so we don't do asana. Then after 25 years in the monastery, you have examination. And tomorrow, I'll show you how, because I have to examine you tomorrow to check if you learned what I taught you today. But we do this. It looks like karate. It's special. Some like dance and karate, but you ask the person a question, and then they have to answer the question. And so we do this every day for the whole 25 years, for four or five hours. And then in the end, the last three weeks, 1,000 people examine you. They ask you questions like that, like screaming at you all day in public. And you're supposed to memorize all the books and, you know, give the answer from memory. So I finished that in 1995. Then when I finished, they took me into a special room in the monastery. And this is in the abbot's place where the boss of the monastery lives. We are not allowed to go in his room. So they take you into his room, and then they take you in the back, and then there's another room. And then there is the abbot's throne. And we are not allowed to touch the throne. It's like this high. And wherever the abbot sits, we are not allowed to touch that. If you touch it, you get – you guys are mala? You get mala, okay? You know mala? What's that for? What's it for? Yeah, you're supposed to do prayers, right? But in the monastery, if you don't – if you touch the abbot's throne, you will get here just many times. You can hear it in somebody's room. You can hear, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. And then you come out, and you have the – what do you call it? Red dots, you know? All day, whole day. Then everyone makes fun of you, you know? So you're not supposed to touch the abbot's chair. You're not supposed to go there. So when you finish this geshe – geshe means 25 years finished and then examined. They take you in a room, and they take you, and they say, sit on the abbot's throne. And you're like, no, no, no. They say, no, sit on the abbot's throne. So you get to sit on the abbot's throne. And then they go outside, and they lock the door. And you have to stay there for a long time. And they don't tell you what to do, you know? You're just supposed to sit there. And then many strange – what do you call? Visions and thoughts come to you. Very beautiful, very, very beautiful. And then came one teacher, one of my lamas. He came inside. He is the logic. In India, you call nyaya, right? He is the teacher of logic, very tough, very boring. And he said, okay, now you can start tantra. Tantra means secret, secret teachings. And we start – I started in 1978, first tantra. But then he said, now you will learn advanced tantra. Now you are Geshe, you finish the program. Now you can learn the higher things. So then he said, first tantra you will learn is asana, yoga asana. Then I'm like, yoga, you know? And he said, yeah, yeah, yoga. And I said, we don't do yoga in the monastery. You know, he says, you say the wrong way. I'm the logic teacher, he said. You have to say – you can't say we don't do yoga in the monastery. You have to say you didn't see anybody do yoga in the monastery, you know? Which is more exact, you know? So he said, you didn't see anybody do yoga in the monastery. It doesn't mean we don't do yoga, you know? So then he said, you are going to start to learn – it's one called Naropachuduk. Naropachuduk is one kind of yoga. Asana. Then he said, you are going to learn Naropa's asanas. And then I said, well, who's the teacher? Who's the yoga asana teacher? He said, I am. I said, you are definitely not. I never saw you do yoga. Then he said, you never saw me do yoga. But he's the teacher. So he taught me. We started to learn from this book. I'm going to show you this book. That asana, Naropa, is 1,000 years old. He's on the first page on the inside. He's there. The little picture? Right there on the front cover. That's Naropa. He lived 1,000 years ago. He's probably the most famous yoga teacher of his time, 1,000 years ago. You can see here, this is a book about his yoga. You can pass it around. This is one of the books that we studied for Naropa's yoga. And so he taught me. The yoga is only a small part. And then there are many other kundalini and many other meditations and many other things. But he taught me the asanas. After a few years, he said, now you should go to three-year meditation. We do three years. After you finish your study, you can do three years in a small room. Understand? And you meditate for three years. You don't see anybody. You don't talk. I'm supposed to start in 2000, my three-year meditation. It's in a very small room in the desert in Arizona. So I went there, and we were getting everything ready. And then I thought, well, maybe I should learn some exercise, some kind of exercise. Because if I am staying in one small room for three years, I would like to know some other exercise. So I start to look for an Indian dance teacher because I like that. I like that. And then they were all out of town, and I couldn't find. They were all busy. Really, I called like four or five of them from the Time Cafe on Lafayette Street. And they were all busy. So then somebody said, this is Lafayette Street. They said, there's a yoga studio next door called Jiva Mukti. And you can just go there, and you can learn some Western yoga, what they are doing. And then you can do that exercise. So I said, that's that David Life guy, yeah? And what's her name? Sharon Gannon. I said, yeah, yeah, I don't feel comfortable to go there. And they said, why? And I said, well, sometimes I'm walking there, and they are doing something with Ganesh, this guy with the elephant face. It's a little bit strange for me. And then they are doing Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna. I'm a Buddhist. I'm a monk. It's a little bit uncomfortable for me to go there. And then my friend insisted, you should try. Just once you should go. So I made a private appointment, very expensive. And I said, I will go, but I want to do it privately. So they said, OK, you have private class with David Life. And then I went up the elevator in Lafayette Street, and elevator opened, and there's a big Ganesh, big statue, like six feet tall. I said to my friend, see, I told you they are going to make us bow to Ganesh. And then you can hear everybody's chanting, Hare, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna. And I said, see, they are also doing Hare Krishna. And then we went into the room, and David started to teach me some, you know, I couldn't do anything. He said, when you first came to me, you looked like a pig. You are very fat. And I didn't do any exercise. In the monastery, you just meditate and like that. So then I went there, and he started to teach me the asana, yoga asana. Then after like 15, 20 minutes, I said, this is very strange. They are doing same asana as my yoga teacher in the monastery, exactly. Completely the same. Everything is the same. Ours is 1,000 years old, and no one has, they didn't teach it to anybody else. You have to finish Geshe. You have to finish 20 years. They won't teach it to you easily, you know. But all the asanas, everything is the same. Then I was really, you know, amazed. And I went back to my teacher. This is in India. And I said, you know your big secret, yoga. He said, yeah, yeah, I know. I said, I have some bad news for you. Then he said, what's the problem? Then I said, I went to New York. I took a yoga class. And they are doing exactly the same asanas. Exactly the same as your big secret yoga. Except they don't have to work for 20 years. They just pay $15. You know, on the first day, after $15, they can get the asanas. I was a little bit upset. Then he was very, he looked at me, and then he looked down. And then he started to cry a little bit, you know. And then I thought, oh, my teacher is a little bit, he's a little bit bad today, because he is angry. He's upset, you know. And then he was crying. And then he was, he said, I said, don't be angry. It's okay, you know. And then he said, no, no, you don't understand. I'm happy, you know. I'm really, really happy. And I said, why? And he said, if people are doing real good yoga asana, if they are doing asana and they understand what they are doing, then they will get enlightened soon, very soon. Because it's very high. Asana is like very high tantra. This is one of the highest asana pranayama. These are very, very close to become, in our system, we say become Buddha, or become enlightened being. If you are interested in asana, if you are doing asana, if you understand the chakras, then you are very close to become a Buddha, you know. He said, how many people are doing in the United States? And I said, well, I saw in New York, sorry, Wall Street Journal, it said 50 million people. And then he said, whoa. Then he started to cry more, you know. Then he said, 50 million, that's so good, you know. That's so good, you know. 50 million people are very close to become a Buddha, you know. He was really happy, you know. And then I said, no, Rinpoche, you don't understand. They go to yoga studio just to lose weight, you know. They are not interested to become like an angel or something like that. They just want to look strong or they want to look thin or like that. And he said, no, no, you don't understand. They forgot, you know. So, past life, they understand. Past life, they are all doing yoga. 50 million people in their past life, they are doing yoga. And they are doing, they are real yogis. And probably they are all Geshe in their past life, he said. Then I said, no, no, they don't know anything, you know. They are not interested in those things, you know. And anyway, there's not enough Geshes who died to be, you know, 50 million people, you know. In our monastery, in my class, only four Geshes per year. So we have 3,000 monks, but only four people can graduate. So then he, I said, that's not enough. He said, you know, you are really being stupid today. He said, you know, past life, other planet, you know. They can be Geshe in other planet. They die, they come to this planet. And then they end up, he said, why do you think they like yoga? Why do you think they are attracted to this sign? The sign says yoga school. Then they see this sign, you know, and they think, I would like to go inside. You know, I would like to know what they are doing in there. So he said, why do you think somebody walks into the school? Why do some people walk into the school and some people don't walk into the school? What's the difference? He said, they have seed from, vasana, right? They have seed from their past life. And then they look at the yoga, or they want to be a yoga teacher. They say, they hear about yoga, and they study a little bit of yoga, and then they say, I want to be a yoga teacher, you know. So he said, this is all from their past life. So these people are very advanced. All the people who are yoga teachers, they are really, really advanced. And maybe they remember or maybe they don't remember from their last life, but they are special people. In this world, the people who are teaching yoga are special people. And they are very close to become a very high thing. So we talked about it. Then he said, well, maybe sometimes you can talk to people and tell them this. Did everybody see? He said, maybe sometimes you can go to other, you can go to Western countries and talk to yoga teachers, and you can tell them about these things. So I did it in New York. We did seven years ago. We started some classes in Yoga Sutra. And we started at Jiva Mukti. I think 80 people came first time, something like that. Now it's seven years. After seven years, it's 300 yoga teachers are coming for 10 days at night. And we did all of Yoga Sutra, all of Hatha Yoga, Padipika, and now we are doing Bhagavad Gita. And now the 300 teachers are coming every year. And their yoga is unbelievable. So it's not just physical yoga, but their understanding of yoga, and the history of yoga, and the meaning of yoga, and about the chakras and the prana. Those 300 people are amazing. She's teaching some of them. And we have some of our staff here. So that's Christina. That's Edward Teddy. And that's Eric. That's Ningbo. He's a monk, also karate master, and a good yogi. That's Mercedes. Is that it? Yeah, so they'll be helping you. But they've finished our... We have a university in America. It's in Arizona. It's a free university. You don't have to pay. But the course is 14 years. And they are finishing this year. In June, they are finishing. First 130 people are finishing. But in New York, the people did Yoga Sutra. We did like this, you know. We just did like fun. And they learned the Yoga Sutra, and Hatha Yoga, Padipika, and Bhagavad Gita. And next we are doing Girhan Sankhita, Shiva Sankhita, Yoga Vashishta. And they are becoming... They are becoming, what do you call? Real yoga teacher, you know. So they know all the asanas. But they also understand what's going on in the body. And what's going on in the mind. And what's happening with the prana. And what's happening with your chakras. And then they know how to adjust the people to help open the chakras. And they understand what Patanjali said and Svatmarama. They understand how to teach a lot better. They are at much higher level now. Those 300 teachers. So in New York, the yoga is very different now. And I really like it. I think it's really exciting. So anyway, I was having lunch with Colin. We were having lunch with Colin in December, something. And we were talking about... We have a project. Those books like that. That book came from Russia. The Russians took 130,000 books from India and Tibet in the last 400 years. You know that people came and bought books or took books. And they brought them back to Russia. So we found this manuscript in Russia. In Tibet and in India. In India, a lot of the books are gone now, destroyed. When the Mughal came, they destroyed a lot of books. About 800 AD, 1200 years ago. And then they stayed a long time. Then the British came. And they didn't destroy the book that way. They just made people interested about cars and movies. And they destroyed it a different way. But in the end, yoga and the yoga knowledge got lost. You can see on the last page, I think, maybe something. Or the next to the last page. Not the last page, but the next to the last. Yeah. You see, there's a yoga book, right? This one's from Tibet. But in India especially, these books are being eaten. Like in Kaivalya Dham, in what's it called? The novel, right? There's a great library. 50,000 books are there about yoga. And in Kashi, in Varanasi, there are many books. In Delhi, there are a lot of books. In Kerala, there are a lot of books. So we find those books around the world. And we try to save them. We try to, what do you call it, scan them. And then we type them. Because if you type them, then you can search them. So if you forgot what is, for example, before I was teaching this class, I was looking up how do you spell Swadishtana, right? How to spell correctly. Because my teachers in America, they always said Swadishtana. And it didn't sound right to me. I just asked the computer, and in 10 seconds it will come, all the Swadishtanas for 1,000 years will come in the screen. And then I can read about where is the Swadishtana, what are you doing with the Swadishtana, what are the meditations that you do with Swadishtana, how do you open Swadishtana, how many spokes has Swadishtana, where is it located, how does it form. You can find, because all the books are in the computer. So we found, in Russia, we found 130,000 yoga books, books about inner and outer yoga. And in Mongolia, that took 14 years. So we were in Russia for 14 years. I sent a team of guys, and they worked for 14 years to save the books there. They just write the names. They didn't scan yet. Just 14 years to write 130,000, to figure out what book is this. And then in Mongolia, there are more. There are 200,000. In China, in Tibet, they were burned, right? Cultural revolution. So a lot of them are gone. Most of them are gone. In India, the bugs ate them. The ones which were not burned, you can see the picture. They like the paper. In Tibet, they are very smart. I don't know who decided, but 1,000 years ago, they decided to make paper out of a poison. It's a poison tree. So the bugs don't like it. And it's lucky, but it makes your eyes, when you are reading, it makes your eyes, it's like an onion. So I told Colin, you know, we met with Colin. My friend John Brady met with Colin, and he said, would Pure Yoga like to help to donate some money? That's how I met Colin, you know. Because we spend every year a quarter million dollars to save the books. And we give them away for free. We put them online. Nobody has to pay for them. It's a big library online, and everybody can have them. But we have to pay. We hire people, mostly women, in the poor villages in India. We have some in Mongolia. We have some in Siberia. We have had projects in Japan and other countries, China. And we pay the people. We teach the poor people to use the computer. And then they are typing the books, and then we are translating. So it will take about 100 years more to scan all the books and type all the books. It will take about 700 or 800 years to translate them. And we finished 9,600 pages of translation in the last 14 years. So I'm teaching them. All my students I'm teaching to translate. So now we have about, I don't know, we have people helping. And they are working to translate. So that's how I met Colin. Then he said, I can ask my, sometime we can have a Yoga Sutra class, or we can have a Hatha Yoga Padipika class here in Hong Kong. Maybe we can do like that seven years. I do once a year for 10 days. And then in the evening, and then people learn. You become a super yoga teacher, because then you understand everything about yoga. And then he said, maybe we can do someday. If my teachers understand, if they see some value, if you teach them something and they like it, then they can help us. Then they can help us. Because then it's more, what do you call it, better karma. It's not just that Pure Company is donating $5,000. Then if all the teachers understand more and more about these books, these old books, then you get excited about it. And then you become my, what do you call it, you become my agents. And you will help. You will help finding people to save. We have to save the books now. Because the bugs are eating them. There's a beautiful book, Ashtanga Yoga. I saw Sri Tathagat Joyce. I went to my Swami. I told him about this project. Then I said, I heard there's a book. He mentioned in his Yogamala book. He said, there's a book in Calcutta called Ashtanga Yoga. I used that book. And my teacher used that book. And then I said, Guruji, can we get this book? He said, no, you can't get it. I said, where is it? He said, it's gone. It fell apart in the Calcutta library. There's no copy left. Where the Ashtanga Yoga that he is teaching came from, this book is gone. And it fell apart. And there's no other copy. And so this will happen to everything if we don't do something. And it's very dumb, because it's all very cheap. We are paying them, I don't know, less than $100 a month, somebody for typing all day. So my dream is to teach you. I want to teach you today some special yoga. I want to teach you about the chakras from these books so you understand more about it. And then my dream is that this has to go for another 100 years. So I need a next generation. I'm preparing the next generation. Maybe one of you will help. Maybe one of you will be the person who can help. So I'm going to teach you today a very, very beautiful yoga teaching. Today and tomorrow there's training. The oldest book which we found about yoga, and it's the oldest yoga book in the world, because Yoga Sutra is older, but it only has two lines about asana, sthira-sukha-vasana, something like that. There's only about 20 words about asana in the Yoga Sutra. In the other Hatha Yoga Pradipika, it's only about 500 years old. So we found this book and the other book. This is by Naropa, but he had a partner. He had a lady yoga teacher. There were two yoga teachers. It's on the next page. Second page, I think. Or third page, maybe. There's a color picture. Yeah, this is a very famous yogini. She's a yoga teacher in India 1,000 years ago. She lived 1,000 years ago in India. And her name was Niguma. Lady Niguma. Then I want to tell you the story about Niguma because you are going to learn Niguma's yoga. We are going to study the asanas for Niguma's yoga and we are going to study what's happening with your chakras when you do Niguma's yoga because she taught that. She taught it 1,000 years ago. Well, I'll tell you the story. So she started out, she was just a girl in a village in India, in Bengal. She was the daughter of a Brahmin. Her father was a Brahmin priest. There was a king in that country and he had a son. The son's name was Naropa. He's on that first page, right? That is Naropa. The little square one. So Naropa was a prince. His father and his mother started to hassle him. Why? He's supposed to produce the next prince, right? He's supposed to get married. So the father and mother are giving him trouble and saying, you know, when are you going to get married? He was interested in yoga. He was interested in chakras and things like that. Then the father and mother said, well, they keep bothering him. You know, you have to get married. You have to start a family. He didn't want to do it. So finally he said, okay, okay. He had a dream. And then he said, okay, I will get married if you can find a special girl for me. And they said, what kind of special girl? And he said, she'd be 16 years old, which is normal in India for getting married. She'd be very beautiful. She'd be her name is Niguma. She'd be her father is a Brahmin priest. But she should be a Buddhist. And that's not possible in that time. That's like she should be Jewish and Christian. You know, like that. It's not possible. But he said, if you can find her, then I will marry her. So he went to, the king sent two ministers. They looked for one year for this girl. They couldn't find her. And then they got all dirty. They looked like beggars. And then they went to some village. And they're tired. And there's a well. And they're going to drink some water. Then this beautiful girl comes. They're looking. And then she has a sutra. She has a Brahmin's sign on her. It means her father is a Brahmin. And then she reached down to the water. And then you're supposed to pull up like this. But she's going like this in the water. It comes up. The bucket comes up. Then they are like, oh, she is special. Then she saw them. And she should get scared or something, right? There are two very dirty, skinny guys. But she took the water. And she went to them. And she offered them water. And then she washed their feet for them. You know? She respected them. And then they realized inside she has a Buddha's heart. She has a heart like a Buddha. So she is like a Buddha, but also Brahmin, daughter. And then they said, what is your name? And she said, oh, my name is Niguma. Then they're, oh, they're so happy. Then they got excited. And they went to their father. And they said, you're so lucky. He said, what? And they said, your daughter is going to be queen. You know? She can marry the prince of the country now. Prince's name is Naropa. You're so lucky. And he said, I heard about Naropa's family. They're a Buddhist family. They said, yeah. He said, I'm a Brahmin family. Cannot marry. Cannot. Not possible. So then the two guys, it's like they went outside the door. And they slept outside the door. They lay down and they start to sleep. Every night. All day. They didn't leave the door. Because they said, where are we going to find another Niguma? This has to be the one. So they stayed in front of the door. Then the, what do you call it? The town people. They start to walk by. And they said, what? Why are you laying in front of the Brahmin priest's door? And they explained, you know, the daughter's going to be queen. Your village will be famous. You know? We just have to get the father to agree. Then all the people start to camp. Then there was big mob and big chanting. And then finally the father said, OK, OK. Then they got married. They got married. Niguma got married to Naropa. And they stayed together, I think, over five years. But he only wanted to teach her yoga. And she loves it. She says, teach me about yoga. Teach me about chakras. Teach me about all these things. And she loves it. And they get deeper and deeper. Then Naropa said, you know, to tell you the truth, I want to go study more yoga with a teacher. There's a very great teacher named Tilopa. And I want to go to the jungle and study with him. I want to become sadhu. I want to become like a monk. And I don't want to stay in the, I don't want to be a king. Then she said, well, there's a problem. We are married. You're not allowed to divorce in India. Very strict. You're not allowed to get divorced. We have to stay together. Then she said, but I have an idea. If the wife is not faithful to the husband, if the wife is cheating with another guy, then the king will allow a divorce. This is a rule in India. If they can catch the wife is cheating with another person. So she said, you tell your father I cheated on you. You tell your father I was fooling around with another guy. It's not true. And her heart is very pure. She wouldn't do it. But she is offering Naropa her most precious thing, her reputation. She offered her husband, I will lie for you. And then you are free. But you have to let me come with you. And we will study yoga together. We will do yoga together in the forest. So they made the plan. And they talked to the king. And the king said, oh, that's terrible. My daughter, I thought she was a good girl. But now I understand. And I'm sorry, Naropa. And OK, of course you can leave. And then Naropa left. And she came with him. Then he met Tilopa. That's a long story. I don't have time to tell you. Or we won't do any offense. So very beautiful story. But he met Tilopa, Master Tilopa. His name is Tilopa means he's making dill oil. He's smashing dill. And he was a very, very great yoga teacher. So he taught yoga to Naropa. And then Niguma was with Naropa. And they studied yoga together. And they both became very good. Naropa's yoga is very famous. There are many books like that which explain Naropa's yoga. And there are many people teaching it in Tibet. I was taught Naropa's yoga first. Then Niguma's yoga, she became a great yoga teacher. She moved to Ganga River and one island there called Sosa. And she started a school for yoga. And only ladies can come. And this was 1,000 years ago. Her yoga, Asana, is the oldest book about yoga in the world. So it's about Asana. It's 1,000 years old. So she taught a large group of women yoga. They open their chakras. They get siddhis. The classes are held in the sky. So they are doing Asana in the sky. And all these women. And they are singing together. They are doing kirtan. And they are doing pranayamas together. And very beautiful. Very, very beautiful school. Then there was one Tibetan guy named Kyumbo Myeongjor. He was a monk. And he lived in the mountains, Himalaya mountains. Then he heard about Niguma. And just he heard her name and he was excited. He said, oh, this is my guru. I found my teacher. I have to see her. I have to meet her. She will teach me. So he walked from Tibet. This is very dangerous at that time. It takes three, four months. Also, Tibet people's lungs are bigger. When they come to India, they get sick. Because they are at 7,000 meters, 6,000 meters. They are high. So it's very dangerous for them to come to India. But he came. Then he looked for her, looked for her, looked for her. He went to the island. And he looked around and there's nobody there. Then he heard some singing. Somebody is doing kirtan. Then he looked up. Then here's a bunch of ladies doing yoga in the sky. In those days, to take yoga class, very serious. You have to have initiation. Your teacher has to give you permission to study yoga. And then you have to make, you have to show you are serious. In our monastery, you have to do 20 years. After 20 years, okay, you are serious. We will teach you asana. Not $15. But in India, the custom at that time, you should sell your house. You should sell your horse. You should sell your land. Then what money you get, you should make gold dust. And then you should put it in a bag and you offer to your teacher. They call mandala. You offer with some roses or flowers and you offer the gold to your teacher. So he did that. He sold all of his, everything he owned, he sold. And then he came to, he held up the gold like this, you know. And then she said, what do you want from me? And he said, oh, Nigooma, I think you are Nigooma. Please teach me yoga, you know. And she said, I am not Nigooma. You are mistaken. Go away. I saw Sri Pataji Joyce is doing also. I saw one time. He is like, go away, go away. And then he said, no, no, I believe you are Nigooma. Please, please teach me. She said, I am not Nigooma. I am a demon. I am going to eat you, you know. Then he was scared. He covered his head. But he took the gold and he went like this, you know. He said, I have gold, you know. You have to teach me, you know. And then he felt that somebody took the gold into the sky, right. Then he looked up and she is opening the gold. And then she took the gold and she just threw it in the wind. And it went over all the trees. All these beautiful trees are all golden trees, you know. She just threw it away. Then she said, OK, you are, you can be a good, I believe you will be a good chela, yeah. So she came and she took him in her arms and she flew into the sky, you know. And then it was a long trip. She went to Himalaya mountain and he fell asleep, OK. All this excitement. And then he fell asleep in her arms. And he got to the mountain and she put him down and she said, oh, I have a problem. This boy is asleep, you know. What am I going to do? How to teach him yoga? So she went into his dreams. And she taught him the yoga which you are going to learn, OK. She taught him this yoga in his dreams. First time, first night. And then he woke up, you know, finally he woke up. And then she said, OK, now I will teach you one more time. So she taught him one time in the dream and one time awake. Then she said, I will teach you this yoga but you have to promise, you have to make me a promise. You will only teach one person in your lifetime, OK. Not more. You will teach one. And then you will tell them they can only teach one for seven generations. Only one person alive can pass on to the next person. So he promised like that. So she taught him that yoga. He came back to Tibet and he started, he taught the one generation and then it went like that. In the 500 years ago, the second Dalai Lama, he followed this yoga. Part of that book is, you can see. So he, it was passed on and then it reached my teacher. And then we are, now today you are going to learn, OK. So that I think we say, in India they call parampara. You should know who, where is it coming from? Where did this yoga come from? And what is the history of the yoga which you are learning? So this is the story of Nygma. So now you know who is Nygma. And she taught a special kind of yoga. In her yoga book, which we found in Russia, she explained that there should be two parts of yoga, you know. There is a physical yoga, but in her system, different from Naropa system, in her system, yoga purpose is to make people more happy, more calm, less stress, especially women. So she taught a special yoga, two parts. First part is mainly about, if you can open chakras, special way, then women, especially women who are very busy, like nowadays in, like in Hong Kong, you know. Women have to make the money, right? Not like before. Before there was division. The men make the money, the women will take care of the children and do the cooking. Okay? That was the old system. Now the women is doing both. You know, they have to make the money, they have to take care of the children. And then, especially in Chinese culture, when the man comes home, he is like, okay, where is my dinner? In India also, you know, not many Indian guys will cook. In traditional, traditional, the wife should do the cooking, you know. Some are, special guys are doing, but not all of them. So nowadays in, in Chinese culture, in Indian culture, there is a lot of pressure on the women, because before they didn't have to work. But now they have to make the money, they have to do the shopping, they have to cook the food, they have to take the children to the school. They have to do everything. Not like before. A lot of stress. A lot of pressure on, on women. So, Niguma's asana, purpose, was to make people calm. And make people who have a lot of stress, to make them more calm. And they are able to do more work, and they don't feel stress. Okay, so her yoga was like that. Step two of her yoga, stage two of her yoga, that's about emotions. Like, if you have a problem with your anger, or you get angry at work, or you have, your husband, you are jealous of, he has some other lady friends he talks to, and you feel jealous, or, like that. When you feel, or you have a problem with eating, like you eat too much, and you want to eat too much, or you have a problem with sleeping, you sleep too much, or you don't sleep enough. Like that. She made a yoga for that. So, there are two levels of her yoga. In this two days, we will only do the first level. This is for people who have a lot of stress, especially women. The yoga is very easy, okay? There's nothing new here. You know all the asanas. Okay? There's no new asana here. But the, how to do the, and it's meant to be done in a short amount of time. Okay? You don't do two hours. You know? You should be able to finish in half an hour or 45 minutes, like that. And this is very, very good, I think for, I talked to Colin about it. We went to the restaurant, and he said, I said, this would be very good for working women. You know? If you have a special class on Sunday or something, or Saturday, and women who are working, okay? Not the people who have money, who can come for two hours to yoga in the morning, from 10 o'clock to 12 o'clock. We are talking about women who have to go to work at 8 o'clock. They come home 6 o'clock. Before 8 o'clock, they have to take the kids to the, what do you call, daycare, right? After 8 o'clock, they have to cook until 10. They have to clean up. Even the guy doesn't clean up, right? So I said, I think it would be cool if Pure had some special program for working women who don't have money, who don't have big money. They can't afford to come, they can't afford to take two hours off in the middle of the day to come for yoga. They don't have this time. And they are stressed. They are under a lot of stress so can we find, maybe Niguma's yoga was made by a woman. It's the oldest yoga in the world, in the book. And maybe we could use it for working people, especially women who are working. So we did it in Taipei. I went to Pure Yoga in Taipei a couple weeks ago. We had a nice class for two days. And we are making a program for women who don't have money or they don't have time to do, also in the poor countries. Like we went to Vietnam and we started to teach this yoga to working women for free. And then we went to Singapore earlier this week and we taught it there. So in each country they are making program for, I would like to see a program for women who don't have money and they want to do yoga. We taught some in China also, in Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou. And we did a little bit in Beijing. So I would like to see it. First I'll teach it to you and I'll teach you the ideas. But then later we have to make some plan. We're talking about that. We make some plan how to teach it to people who need it. And maybe Pure can do it as a service for the community. You know what I mean? People who have like that. So we're going to start. First I'm going to explain to you a little bit about the yoga. How it changes your body. What it does to your body. And about the prana and about the chakras. And then we'll stop. We won't finish today. We'll stop halfway and then we'll do the asanas. Again the asana is nothing new for you. You know all these asanas. But how you do the asana is different. And what thing is happening when you do the asana is different. So I want to explain that to you. So let's start with everybody. Does anybody not have these three? Raise your hand. If you don't have, raise your hand. Okay so this one is what do you call it? The little one. Sushumna. This one is Sushumna. And I want you to learn a little bit about the Sanskrit. I mean you go to a yoga class. People say Sushumna. You say what does that mean? They say I don't know. You know. So I want to catch you for two days and then I'm going to catch you for seven years. And we will do for a long time and you will know everything. You will be really, really good at it. Just a little bit. We do one week for each year. Something like that. But we do a nice job. Then you will understand all these things. Okay? I would like to see it spread in the world. So anyway Su means Su in Sanskrit means good. Like Sukha means happy or bliss. I like that Sukha. Ka means the center of a wheel. The opening is Ka. And space is also Ka. And Sukha means a good wheel. But Sukha came to mean happiness. Okay? So Su means good. Su comes from an older word Esu. E-S-U. This is an older, older word. E-S-U. Esu is the old form of Su. And when Esu came into English language it came to Greek. In the Greek the S fell out and it became E-U. So E-U means good in Greek. So euphoria or euthanasia or eurythmics. E-U means good. Rhythm means rhythm, right? So your rhythm means good rhythm. So Esu. It used to be Esu. And came into Greek as E-U. So Su means good. Then Susu means very good. And then there's a rule in Sanskrit. After U, the S has to change to Sha. Okay? After U, S has to change to Sha. This is a rule. After I also, like Ishvara. So it has to go Susu. It can't be Susu. Like I heard in Chinese, Shixing is thank you, thanks, thanks. It's the same, okay? Susu. Okay? Susu means good, good. Very good. Then Mana, Mana. I mean Manas means mind. But in English, the word hymn, H-Y-M-N, meaning what? It's like a song, religious song. Hymnal, right? So Susumna means a very beautiful song. And it means inside the, inside this nadi is a song. Nada. The song of goodness, okay? So this nadi, Susumna nadi, this nadi means channel, right? So it starts here, under the bone. It actually comes down and it faces out just a little bit like that, okay? So it comes down here. Then it goes under the skull, comes out to the back. It comes out under the skull, comes out, then it follows the spine, backbone. It's in front of the spine, okay? Just a little bit like half inch in front of the spine. It doesn't go through the spine, it's in front of the spine. And then it comes down and goes under your legs and comes to the tip. In the boys, it comes to the tip of the organ. In the woman, it comes to the tip of her organ also, okay? So this is the Susumna, okay? Inside the Susumna is prana, right? In Chinese, what you call chi. In Japan, they call ki. In Tibet, they call lum, okay? And in Sanskrit, prana, okay? Prana is two words, okay? It's pra and an. Pra means ahead or forward. So the word proud came from pra. The word proud came from Sanskrit. The prow of the boat, the front of the boat came from Sanskrit. The word forward used to be pror, and it means to front. So pra means very much or forward. Then an means to breathe, okay? An means to breathe. So prana means to breathe very much. So prana means the breath, the breath of life in the body. Prana, okay? So inside the Susumna, prana is moving, okay? Prana is moving. Prana is like a wind. It is physical. It is made of light, right? It's physical. It's not mental, but it's made of light, okay? And if you cut the body, you won't see it. It's like trying to grab a light, okay? You won't see it. Prana is moving through the body, okay? Like the energy of the body. So it moves in the central channel. Prana is moving. When you need to poo-poo, all the prana comes down, collects towards the bottom, and becomes vayu, apana vayu, right? Vayu means the prana collected together and made a wind, like a wind. And that helps to push out menstruation or semen or pee-pee or poo-poo. The prana collects down here and becomes a vayu. And then that uses... Then one vayu is the Samana vayu, is helping you digest. And like that. We can do the vayus some other day, okay? But prana is helping you with your life, okay? Then there's a second channel. In Sanskrit, it's named pingala, okay? Pingala. It came into English as... pink, okay? Pink comes from pinga, okay? It means red color, okay? So pingala is red color. It goes down a little bit farther. Sushumna stops here. Pingala comes down to here, okay? And it's on the right side. So red one is on the right side, okay? It starts here. It goes under that bone. It follows the sushumna. They don't... They don't open into each other, but they are touching, okay? So they are touching, but they are separate from each other. So the pingala is coming down the right side. And then it follows the sushumna. Same path, except pingala also separates to your right leg. It also goes down to your right leg, okay? All the way down your right leg. Then in Tibetan, they call... What do they call? Roma, okay? In Tibet, they call Roma, which is a translation of rasana. So sometimes it's called test shell rasana, okay? It has another name, surya, which is what? Sun, okay? And there's another word in Old Vedic Sanskrit for sun, which is ha, just ha. It came into Greek as helios, meaning the sun, okay? Like helium. So ha means ha, surya, pingala. All the same, okay? Same meaning. Then there's another channel on the left side. It comes down also here, halfway down the nose, and it follows the sushumna up, okay? This one is called idda. Say idda. Idda. So Sanskrit has two Ds, okay? One is like David, okay? One is D, okay? When you say D, like David, or Dao De Jing, your tongue, the top of your tongue is touching your mouth. Say David, David. Da, da, da. Dao De Jing. Okay? This part is touching the top of your mouth. That's one D. But Sanskrit has another D, and you don't touch your tongue. You touch the tip. In the same place. Da, da. So it's not idda, it's idda, like bandita or mandala, OK? So if you want to be really good, if you go to India and you say idda, then the guy's like, oh, you sound really good. So idda, you say it, try it. You twist your tongue back, idda, yeah, then it's good. Because it changed the meaning. It's like, if you don't know the tones in Chinese, if you say tau or tau or tau or tau, it's a different meaning, right? So idda, this is idda, OK? Idda means a sheep, OK, like a lamb or a sheep. And it has a white color, OK? So it means white-colored channel, OK? In Tibetan, kyanma, OK? In Tibetan, kyanma. You can also call chandra, right, which means what? Or you can call it, are you ready? You have to move your tongue back, ta, ta, ta, ta. So these two in Sanskrit, old Sanskrit, they are ha and ta, ha-ta, ha-ta, ha-ta, ha-ta, OK, ha-ta, OK? That's important. Later we'll talk about it, ha-ta, OK? Ha-ta is important, later. When you say ha-ta, yoga, you're talking about the pingala and the idda, OK? This is beautiful. There's something important, OK? It goes the same way on the left side of the sushumna. Comes down the same way, comes up the same way. Idda also goes down the left leg, OK? Why are we talking about this, OK? Why is this important? Because prana moves inside these channels, OK? Prana moves inside these channels. It is moving inside these three channels, OK? Actually, you only have enough prana that the prana will travel in one of them, OK? It can't travel in all three at the same time. Most of the prana. Each one has a little prana all the time. But mainly, main prana can only travel in one at one time, OK? Why is that important? And now I'm going to teach you a very important idea. Say, lum. Lum. Say, lum. Lum. I should do kirtan. Lum. Lum. Sem. Sem. Jupa. [Говорящий 2] Jupa. Jipa. Jipa. Lum. Lum. Lum. Sem. Jupa. Jupa. Jipa. Jipa. [Говорящий 1] Lum. Sem. Jupa. Jipa. Lum. [Говорящий 2] Sem. Jupa. Jipa. OK. [Говорящий 1] In our monastery, we have to, you know, the teacher say, lum sem jupa jipa. Or you get the, you get this thing, OK? You get mala. OK. Lum means prana, OK? Sem means manas, your mind, your thoughts. Jupa jipa means samaja. Samaja. Samaja. Samaja. Samaja means they travel together. They always travel together. So prana is like the horse, and your thinking is like the horse rider, OK? So when prana moves, your mind moves. When your prana moves, your mind must move. No choice, OK? When the prana shifts, you have an idea. When the prana is still, you are having good samadhi, meditation, because the mind is not moving, OK? So if the prana is moving, the mind is having some thought. If the prana is not moving, the mind is almost stopped. Also the opposite, OK? I mean, if the horse is riding, the guy has to go, right? If the prana is moving, the manas has to go with it. The mind has to go with it. That's nature. But the mind can also push the horse, right? It can say, come on, we're moving this way or we're moving this way. The mind can move the prana also. You can move prana with your meditation or you can move your thoughts with your asana. Got it? Because it goes both ways. It goes both ways. You can move your thoughts by moving your prana with your asanas. Or you can move your prana by doing special meditations. So you can change how the prana goes with your asana or you can change how the prana goes with your thinking. OK? And if you want to change your thinking, for example, if you are stressed out at work and you feel nervous and you feel anxiety, you can change the thinking by changing the prana. Got it? That's the principle of Nygma's yoga. Change the movement of the prana and the woman will be less stressed out. And that's the goal of Nygma's yoga. Change the prana flow and the woman will be more calm. She will not get nervous, even if she has to cook and take care of the children and work all day and pay the bills. [Говорящий 2] OK? [Говорящий 1] So to understand that, you have to understand when the prana moves inside the sushumna, you feel happy. You feel relaxed. When the prana moves in here, you feel comfortable. You feel love for other people. When the prana is moving here, all the good thoughts, love, knowledge, wisdom, compassion, intelligence, they are all moving in here, in the sushumna. If you could get your prana in the sushumna, you become like a superman. OK? You can do anything. OK? My teacher asked me years ago, he said, we need to make some money for the refugees. Then I said, OK. Then he said, I want you to start a business. Then I said, I'm a monk. I don't know anything about business. Don't ask me to do. Also, I don't like business people. They are all, er, er, er. And I want to live in the monastery. I want to study. I want to meditate. He said, no, no. You have to leave the monastery. You have to start a business. I'm like, I don't know anything about business. He said, you study Jingan Jin. You know Jingan Jin? Like Xin Jing. These are two great books from India. Vajracchedaka, Diamond Cutter. And the other one is, what do you call it? Hrudaya. What's it called? Hrudaya Vajraparamita Sutra, Heart Sutra, Xin Jing. So he said, you don't need to go to business school. I will give you Jingan Jin. I will give you Xin Jing, two books from China also. And you use those. Then I also teach you some yoga. I give you yoga. If you can put the prana into the sushumna, you will be the best businessman. You know, I'm like, how? You know, he said, when the prana is in the sushumna, you are more loved. And you are more calm. But you are also more smart. And if you get a lot of prana into the sushumna, you can see what's going to happen tomorrow. Or next week. That's very useful in business. You see, you can make investment. Like that. So I did, you know? I started a business to help the poor people. I had $7 when I started. Last year, we sold the company $250 million. It has 10,000 workers, a Warren Buffett company. I gave the money away already, OK? 10 years ago. My share, I gave to the poor people 10 years ago. But what I mean is, if you can move prana into the sushumna, you become a happier person. You become a calmer person. And you also become more successful, because intelligence moves in the sushumna, OK? You can do anything. You can learn anything. Foreign language, you can learn new music. You can do anything, if the prana goes in the sushumna. But there's a problem, which is Mr. Pingala and Mr. Ida. Mr. Ida is a problem. OK, so this sushumna is coming down here, right? And Pingala is here. I used to call, I like to call Pingala a Starbucks channel. OK, people say, why a Starbucks channel? When the prana moves in this channel, you feel satisfied. You feel happy. You feel contented. You are OK to eat raw carrots and almond butter, and you are happy to do that. That's fine. But if the prana is moving in this one, you're like, I want Starbucks. You know, I want Starbucks. I have a lot of prana in my Ida, OK? So we went to Vienna, when? Two weeks ago. We taught in Vienna. We taught this thing in Vienna. And we were teaching business people. And then we landed. We were four days in the airport in Canada because of the volcano. So we were tired. We three of us were traveling together. They are my assistants, right? So we got to Vienna. We were four days traveling in the airport, and then very dangerous. We were the first plane to reach Europe. And then we land, and they say, OK, can we go to a hotel and sleep? I said, no, no, we can't go to a hotel. They said, what's wrong? I said, we have to go to Starbucks. We have to find Starbucks. They're like, Geshe-la, we were four days in the airport. We didn't get any sleep. Just one day, you can not have your Starbucks. It's OK. I said, no, no, we have to go to Starbucks, OK? So then all the product came into my inbox. So I like to call it Starbucks Channel. I like hot chocolate, OK? Not so much coffee, but I think coffee makes you crazy, but me. But when you, by the way, when you enjoy Starbucks, hot chocolate, you go there with your friend, you sit down, you are drinking some cocoa with your friend, or some hocha or something, tea, you know? And you sit down, and you relax, and you're talking good talk. What did that guy say today in the yoga class? What is about, how can we help women, you know? What did he talk about, you know? If you are having the cocoa with this mind, the prana's moving in Sushumna. This is good. This is a good thing, to have a nice, quiet, peaceful hot chocolate in Starbucks, that's OK. But your friends are very tired, you know? Everyone is exhausted, and you want to go to Starbucks. And you are ignoring your friends, you know? You are ignoring what they want. You are hurting them, you know? I must go to Starbucks. We went to Starbucks, and it was terrible for them in Vienna. So that kind of desire, I want, I want. I don't care what my friend thinks. I don't care if they are happy. I just think about me. Then the prana goes out of the Sushumna, and goes into the Ida, OK? Then that prana is moving in the Ida, OK? And you feel stupid wanting, like overwanting, you know? I want two cups of hot chocolate. And I also want biscotti. And I also want some pie. And I also want some cake, you know? And also, I'm going to eat some animal, because today I feel like a hamburger, you know? I don't care what Sri Dharamitra said, you know? Then all of the prana is moving in the Ida. And you feel unhappy. You feel unhappy. You feel nervous, and you want something, right? So then if you go to Vienna, and you land in the airport, and they say, OK, we are going to Starbucks, OK? You tell everybody, you are the big boss. We have to go to Starbucks, right? And then you go to the Starbucks in the square. I forget the name of the square. In the center of the town. And they say, Geshe-la, I'm sorry. They don't have hot chocolate today, OK? Geshe-la. Geshe-la. You know? Then you feel, god damn. You know? And then all the prana comes out of the Ida. It goes into Pingala, OK? Pingala is red hot. Pingala is red hot. Pingala is for anger. Pingala is upset. God damn, they don't have hot chocolate. I'm four days in the Canadian airport, and they don't have hot chocolate. I can't believe it. And you feel upset. So very common, very normal. First you want something too much. Then you can't get it. Then that prana comes over here. Oh, I didn't get what I want. I didn't get it. And you feel angry, OK? So prana came out of the Sushumna. When you want too much, you want Starbucks. Then you can't get Starbucks, and prana moves to the Pingala, and you feel, oh, I didn't get my Starbucks, OK? Like that. These three don't meet here. The opening at the bottom is linked together. There's a connection, like a pipe. There's a joint of it somewhere in there. What page is that? What page is that? Page seven? Page, no. Try the page before that. Page after that. After that. There it is. The channels? There's a, oh, you had it. It's the first page of asanas. There it is. [Говорящий 2] Oh, yeah. Page 10. [Говорящий 1] Page 10, OK? There's a place in your body that you can't get out of. Where Sushumna, and Pingala, and Ida, they meet together. There's a place in your body where they meet together. And that's below the navel. We call four angulis, right? Four fingers. In China, you call chin? Chin? Chin? It's not chin. Is it chin? Chin. It's this long. So four of those below the navel. OK? But in the back, right? In the back. Never point here chakra, OK? Heart chakra. Then I know you don't know anything. OK? You have to say, heart chakra. They're all in the back, right? They're all in the spine. They all carry down the spine. So people are saying, heart chakra. And then you should be like, no. [Говорящий 2] OK? [Говорящий 1] Sometimes I make a mistake. In Singapore, one young man said, oh, Geshe-la, you went like this. I'm sorry. Heart chakra. So they meet together like that down here. OK? And when you get upset, it moves out of the Sushumna. Sorry. It moves out of Sushumna and goes. When you want Starbucks, it moves out of Sushumna. And where they connect, it goes into the Ida. OK? Then they say, you can't have heart chakra today. Then it moves out of the Ida, goes into the Pingala. And you feel upset. OK? Got it? So now you already can guess, what is Nygma's yoga doing for a stressed woman? You can guess now. What does she want? [Говорящий 2] Changing the stress. [Говорящий 1] Yeah, exactly. Her yoga, she designed it. It's the oldest yoga asanas in the world. And she designed it, which was written down. I'm sure since Veda time, 5,000 years, they are doing asanas in India. First time to write it down. Her yoga tried to move the prana out of the Ida and Pingala and move it into the Sushumna. And then even though the woman has a lot of work, she feels calm. And she is smarter. And she can do faster everything, you know? And she can make more money, more easy. I work in my business. When I had the business, I worked six months a year. And I only worked four days a week. And I go home at five o'clock. And I finished the Geshe at the same time. First person in 600 years from the West. So people said, Geshe-la, you're not old enough to do the business, $250 million, and do the Geshe. I think you are lying. I said, I did them at the same time. They said, that's not possible. I said, Sushumna. So if the woman, if we can help her move the prana into the Sushumna, then she will be more fast. And she can do more things. And she can also be happy and calm and healthy. She can be healthy. So her yoga. But there's one problem, OK? How am I doing? I still have time, right? We started at what time? Yeah, we're OK. All right. Because I know you want to do Asana. In Singapore, second day, they said, Geshe-la, let's not do the Asana today. Let's just do, tell us more about this thing, you know? So they were smart. Anyway. They said, we can do Asana, everything. There's one big problem, OK? We have extra problem. Starbucks is problem. But there's another problem, OK? I'll show you the second problem. Let me see. OK, here. Then the Ida, here, it goes over the Sushumna, OK? And then it comes back. So Ida goes over Sushumna and comes back, like that. And then here also, Pingala goes over and comes back. I want you to try, OK? Now you have to try. I'll show you what it looks like. I want you to do it yourself, because then when you are teaching people this yoga, you will understand. You will remember the wires, you know? Even if you forget Ida and Pingala, you will have this wire in your house. You'll say, why do I have this wire in my house? Did you get one? Does everybody have wire? Yeah, try. Just try. So Sushumna's in the middle. And then these two guys are causing a problem. I like to call them the two bad guys. Two bad guys. It's OK? The Pingala is on the right side. The Pingala's on your right side. And the Ida is on the left side, your left side. And they are crossing, and they are coming back. OK? Looks good. Yeah, good. Samudra. Samudra. Samudra. OK. OK. Of course Deva can do it, because he's a god. OK. Then here, they cross. OK? Now we said before, the Prana can only stay in one, mainly in one Nadia at a time. OK? So when you want the Starbucks in Vienna, OK? Also I wanted Hong Kong, but that's another story. The Prana comes out of the Sushumna. It goes into the Ida. And Ida gets fat. OK? Ida gets like a balloon. OK? This Ida Nadia, it gets fatter. Then it chokes the Sushumna. [Говорящий 2] OK? [Говорящий 1] Here. Here. It chokes the Sushumna. Sushumna cannot move. Prana cannot move. Why? Because I want Starbucks. OK? Prana cannot move into Sushumna, because I want Starbucks, and I don't care if it hurts them. OK? If you want to go to Starbucks, and you go with your friend, and you have a nice Starbucks, that's not a problem. That's OK. That's Sushumna. But they want to go to sleep. They are tired. They have four days in Toronto airport. And Geshe-la wants to go to a good hot chocolate. So then my Ida gets fat. And it chokes the Sushumna. Then I can't have a good thought. You see? Prana cannot move in the Sushumna. And I cannot be calm. You know? I must, must have, must have Starbucks. Like that. And all the good thinking. I should stop, right? I should stop. Wait a minute, Geshe-la. It's good to have cocoa. Cocoa is good. That's OK. But they are tired. They are traveling four days. They have four days waiting in the airport. You know? Maybe go home. Put them to bed. Then you can go out and have a hot chocolate. It's OK. This is reasonable. That idea is going in Sushumna. But Sushumna is choked by the Starbucks. So I can't have that idea. I won't have that idea. I want now. I must have now. You can't go to bed. You have to go with me in the car. We have to get Starbucks. OK? Because the good thought that my friend should have some rest, it's choked by the fat Starbucks channel. Got it? OK. All right? Then when I get angry about they don't have Starbucks, then all the product moves into Pingala. It also choked Sushumna. Then I can't have a good thought also. If you are in business, this is very important, right? You want to think clearly. You want to be successful. You want to do the right thing. But this is choking. This is being choked by I need it. I need Starbucks. I didn't get something. Then you can't think clearly. If you can release this, you'll be like Superman. You can see into future. You can see what's going to happen next week, next year. You can see 500 years ahead, but that's too much. I don't want to tell you that. OK? Let's say one week is enough. All right? It's very beautiful. OK? Now, problem. This happens in the body many times. OK? It happens here one time. Crossover. It happens here. It happens here. It happens at the heart. Bad news. You ready? One, two, three times. At the heart. OK? Three times. Then one time at the navel. Then one time at the tailbone. And then one time here. And then there's a small one on your sexual organ we don't need to talk about. And there's a small. So these are crossing over. These are called, what do they call them in Sanskrit? Do you guys know? Granthi, right? Granthi means knot. It's choking the Sushumna. There's a knot. OK? Now, last thing. Eric, can you sit here, OK? Back to me. Thank you. OK. You just stay there. Don't worry. It won't hurt very much. OK. His Sushumna is coming here, right? And coming up, and then goes down. If I look, if I can see inside his body, I will see, like this way, right? I will see down the Sushumna. OK? Then when these two are choking, especially at the heart, I almost went like that. At the heart. OK? When they are not at the heart. Then the prana starts to get traffic jam. OK? Prana can't move. It's like a tunnel. And the cars are all, more cars go into the tunnel, but the tunnel is blocked. So more, more, more, more, more come in, like a, what do you call, water hose. Like a fire hose. If the hose is blocked, then the water pressure will build up, right? Build, build, build, build. Then at some time, it splits. The Sushumna splits. OK? It splits in several sides. And new knots come out. This way. OK? If I'm looking down Eric's head, I can see new knots, new channels are splitting out in many directions. You can see on page? [Говорящий 2] Eight. [Говорящий 1] Eight. OK? So I am looking, I am looking down. I am looking down his Sushumna. OK? I am looking down his Sushumna. The prana got stuck by the knot. Then the Sushumna split. And new knots are coming out. You can say they look like this, you know? But this way. Now they look like this. So when I look down, I see a shape like that. Looks like that. The shape looks like that. What is the Sanskrit name for that thing? Chakra. OK? That's a chakra. That's a wheel. And that's why they call it chakra. You have to understand that. OK? Because when you look down, it looks like a wheel. Those new channels. In the heart, there are eight. In the navel, there are 64. 16, 32. It's different, each chakra. OK? You are finished. Good job. [Говорящий 2] So. [Говорящий 1] These splits go in an exact, numerical, specific order. It's not random bursting of the pipe. No. It's a specific, numerical. Yeah, it's always the same. Since you asked. Well, they split. First they split in the heart. They split eight times. In the cardinal directions and in the ordinal directions. So in Sanskrit, we call the front of the body east, right? Back is west. And then so it goes east, west, north, south. Four split. Then one splits off of each of those. That goes to the north. Sorry. Yeah, north east. And then one splits to the south west. And then one splits to the south west. And one splits to the south east. Then you get eight. Then each of those splits three times. And you get 24. And they're not symmetrical. They're a little bit. They look like a spiral. And those split three times become 72. And those split 1,000 times. And that's 72,000. And if you read the Hatha Yoga Padipika, there are 72,000 channels in the body. And that's how they come, from the heart chakra. Then you have to study that someday. That's a long story. Everyone has meaning. Like what makes your teeth grow is one of those channels. And what makes your nails grow is another channel. And what makes your eyes see is another channel. And you can study all those later. So chakra is a bad thing. Chakra is coming from choking. And then Lady Nygma said, we have to open these chakras. We have to release the pressure. So the prana will go through the sushumna. And then Geshe Michael will calm down. He won't be asking, I need a chocolate. And he won't be saying, I didn't get a chocolate. OK? He will be calmed down. He can't control his mind. So let's control his body. And if he controls his body, the prana will move. Maybe we can move the prana with the body. Then he will be more calm. Maybe next time he doesn't need hot chocolate. OK? Maybe water will be OK. I didn't reach that yet. All right. So this is the important part. And then maybe we start some asana. And then we will continue tomorrow with this stuff. There's more and more beautiful stuff. Lady Nygma said, you have to open those knots. And you can't control your mind, but you can control your body. You can move your body in asana. And then it will change your chakras. OK? So she said, each chakra, you should do four things. Each chakra, you should do four different asanas. [Говорящий 2] OK? [Говорящий 1] What do you think the first kind of asana? What's the problem? The problem is this, right? Yeah, great. Who said that? Yeah, you heard it before. So the first asana for each chakra should be a twist. Because if you can twist the correct way, you will loosen them. Right? They are twisted, right? So if you do a twist in the proper place, in the proper way, it will release the partner. They are going to stay twisted, aren't they? They are releasing some of the pressure from the twist. Yeah, great. Great. We'll talk about it. Remind me. [Говорящий 2] OK? [Говорящий 1] It's a very good question. What's your name? [Говорящий 2] Daniel. [Говорящий 1] OK, good. Nice question. And if you have a question, just ask me, OK? In Tibet, they ask us questions all day. [Говорящий 2] How did they find out where they were twisting and how? [Говорящий 1] Yogis saw them. Like in deep meditation, in deep meditation. And you can try sometimes. We'll do a little bit. We'll do a baby chakra meditation, maybe tomorrow. And you will start to, you get to a point where you can map them. So first is a twist. So I untwisted. That was asana number one. Let's say for heart chakra. Oops. For heart chakra. OK? So I untwisted the chakra. Looks good? What's next? You tell me. Straighten them. Do a stretch. Do a stretch. Make it straight. Straighten the pingala. Straighten the iddha. OK? Why? This is interesting. I mean, especially for the older students. You want prana to flow through them. There's a process of repairing the channel. This pingala is also damaged. It has tears. It has ribs. It has perforations. And the idea is to repair it so that the prana can get out and not come back. Got it? So why are you straightening the bad one? You want prana to go there? No. I want prana to be able to leave that. You see what I mean? So that's important. Some people never get that. So you straighten the channel. OK? Then you need to suck the prana. Now they are straight, right? Then you need to suck the prana into the sushumna. It should come out of the two bad guys. And prana should go into the. So there should be some kind of bandha. OK? Like uddiyana bandha. That's the purpose of a bandha. Now you are. Maybe for the first time in your life you are hearing the real reason to do asanas. You know? Maybe the first time in your life you are hearing the real reason to do asanas. It's all to get prana into the sushumna. And make the person more happy. And more calm. And more intelligent. And more kind. And more compassionate. You see? The purpose of asanas. Long thousand years ago, right? 5,000 years ago. I mean for a bandha. It was to bring the prana into the sushumna. Then the person become more happy. More kind. More loving. More. You know, I think Dharamitra. I see him, right? I think. Oh, what page? Next page. What's the next page? What page is that? What page number? Page number nine. OK? You want to see what happens if you open your chakra. OK? There you go. The picture is what happens. How do you know your chakra is opening? Do you see blue light? Or do you fly in the sky? Or, no, you get happy. And you become cooperative person and kind person and responsible person. And sensitive person. And wise person. And so when I see Dharamitra, I think, oh, his chakras are open. I can't see his body. And maybe that's why he can do the nirahamana sushasana, right? He can do headstand with no arms. But maybe that's why he can do it. And other people are, you know, they have a lot of ida and pingala going. Looks like. And maybe the reason he can do those asanas is because his, and the reason he's so nice, I think then his sushana is more open. You see what I mean? So in the end, if you're a successful yogi, I think your body will be strong. And you can do very unusual asanas like Dharamitra. But the big thing is you'll be happy. And you'll be a nice person. And then you don't feel tense, okay? Which brings me to the last thing. Oh, so we untwisted, we straightened, we brought the prana into the sushumna. Sorry. We brought the prana into the sushumna. Then we call distribution. In Tibetan it's called, what's it called? Tigla demba. Tigla demba means bindu of consciousness. In the Yoga Sutra, there's a little bit. Surya samyama tad dhruve gata. Dhruve samyama tad gatam jnana. If you straighten the dhruva, which is the central sushumna, then the gati means the going of the bindus. You will understand, jnana. Dhruve samyama, which is jnana, dharana, and samadhi. The last three of the ashtanga. So if you can use, after you get them in, we say you have to distribute it a little evenly. It's all pressure here. So then you have to do some asana, which distributes. In Tibet we do bet chung su. Sometimes they do from standing down. You know, it hurts a lot. But you move, all the prana came here. Now you have to spread it a little bit. Then it moves up the, it can come up to here. See, it will get a little bit traffic jam here. If you just do uddhyana bandha. Then you do some, and it's fun. Some of them are fun. You know, you can go like, in the hand you go like this. And that's, you know, it's like that. So there should be four asanas at each chakra. So at each chakra. All right, last thing. Then we'll do some asana. You must open them in order. OK, you can't start in the middle if the navel is still tied. You see? Let's say there are knots, right, along the sushumna, right? So, Liguma and Naropa, they are saying, don't open the heart first. Sorry, don't open the heart first. Start from the bottom. And then, you see, one by one you will relax them. And then they will open. All of them will be open, you see? But if you try to open the heart first, and then these are still tied. You will have pressure problems. Vata dosha. You will have a vata problem. You will feel nervous. You will feel tense. Some people, they finish the asana and they feel more tense, you know, than before, you know. We say one reason is you have to open them in order. It should go, you can go from the top or you can go from the bottom. In our tradition, in Naropa, it's chi-wa-ne dim-ba-le-pa-na-ga-wa, dim-ba-ne nying-ga-le-pa-na-ke-ga, nying-ga-ne te-wa-le-pa, sorry, cho-ka, nying-ga-ne te-wa-le-pa-na-ke-ga, te-wa-ne no-be-tse-le-pa-na-hangi-gi-de-wa, ke-pa-chen ke-wa-gyur. That's the famous order. It goes down. Then you have to go up. So that takes like three hours of asana. It's too much, okay? We want to finish the lady in 30 minutes, 45 minutes. So it should go up. More powerful to go up. So start with the lower chakra and then work up to the higher chakra, okay? In order. And don't mix up the order because if you open this and you don't open this, then you still have a problem. It should go in order. You will find, if you do the asanas in this order, you will find you are more relaxed after the asanas. You will notice some difference. You will see, oh, I feel a little bit high. You know, I feel, Dharamitra in the class, what do you see in Hong Kong? I said, Dharamitra, how do you know about that? He said, you finished the asana properly, you feel like you had a glass of wine, you know? Then I'm thinking, he never drinks wine, I think, in his whole life. But if you do them in good order, instead of feeling tense after the asana, you feel happy, you feel relaxed. The goal of these two days is that later we can help people in those buildings. I like this room. I really like this room for yoga teacher because you can dream about helping all the people in those buildings. Every woman, every man who's sitting on a computer right now like this, and they are worried, and they are stressed, and I would like to see them come here. And then I would like to see them be relaxed. And if you open the Sushumna, making money is easy. Just money comes to you, like crazy. Like hundreds of thousands of millions of dollars come to you, just like water, just like air. There's no problem. They are all doing the wrong thing. They should come over here and open their chakras. First. First. Then go do the stock investment. Then you can do anything. Really, I did it. I can say because I did it. Now that company has 10,000 people. We start with three. And I'm not there. I'm here. Because I don't have to be. Like that. If your Sushumna is open, then your whole life is easy. Then that's what we want. You are a yoga teacher. Your goal should be, you make healthy people, but you also make happy people. They should all be like Dharmendra by the time you finish, right? Really, they should all be like relaxed, and very strong, and handsome, and thin, and smart. And having a good life. You want to give them a good life, right? You want to give them a happy life. So I think you can, if you can teach them how to change their life with the asana, then you really help people. Then your life has meaning, you know? If you just make people skinny, then you get to 60 years old, and you say, what did I do with my time? I just made 400 skinny people. [Говорящий 2] No. [Говорящий 1] No one's going to make a memorial plaque for you. But if you can say, you know, I had in my life 500,000 students, or 2 to 10,000 students, and they're all happy. And they're all healthy. And their family life, also if your sushumna is open, your family life is more harmonious. You have harmony in your family life. Everything is smooth. In your work, in your family, everyone is happy. There's no tension, there's no problems. Why? We'll talk about tomorrow. We have a lot more to talk about. [Говорящий 2] Can I ask you a quick question? Yeah. Why, when you release these knots, why does prana move into the sushumna? Is there like, what did you say, is there intelligence? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. [Говорящий 1] You were going to ask me that. Okay. The goal. There's another word in Sanskrit, okay, for sushumna. It's called avadhuti. Avadhuti. Ava means off. Off came from av. Ava means off. Avadhuti means shake off. Shaken off, okay. The sushumna is talking to these guys, get off of me, you know. Sushumna is like, get off, get off. Stop, you know, I like you, but you know, don't hug me so hard. He's like, get off of me, you know. And that's called avadhuti. And very famous name. There's a famous yoga book called avadhuti, gita, avadhuti gita. We should study it someday. It's a song of the sushumna. It's very beautiful. So he's telling these two, get off of me. When the prana enters this, when it leaves the two bad guys, it must flow into the sushumna. I don't know why. It's nature. It is the nature. It flows into the sushumna. Eventually, these two atrophy, and they come into the sushumna. These two disappear. In the end, at the end, these two disappear into the sushumna. Then something cool happens. That splitting of the sushumna, which created the chakras. The chakras make flesh and bone and blood. And that's a mistake. It is not our nature. The body of blood and bone and skin, this is not our real nature. Our real nature is life. We are made of life. We are like angels. We are like a being. Our natural being is made of life. This is a mistake. This gets old. This gets cancer. This gets leukemia. This gets AIDS. This must get old. This must die. This is not efficient stuff. This is not smart stuff. You can do yoga. There's a joke in my place. Did you do yoga today? Yes. How long? Two hours. You are two hours older. And if you do enough of those yogas, you will die. The yoga will kill you. Why? Because you get old. You can get old doing yoga. You can get old sitting in the office. But either way, you're going to get old. This is not good stuff. When you open the... When you join laila and tingla into the sushumna, what does it mean, join? What's the Sanskrit word for join? Oh, yuj? Yuj is the root? The word is yoga, right? What will we call it if you get these two to join into the sushumna? What shall we call it? Let's give it a name. Ha? Yoga. Okay? That's the real meaning of hatha yoga. I mean, that's the goal. Hatha yoga is the goal. You get all the prana out of the two bad guys. Ha and ta, right? You get it to move into the sushumna, you will get younger. Eventually your body will turn into light. And that's hatha yoga. That's the real meaning of hatha yoga. Then what are you going to do? Okay, you can go to New York, Times Square, and you can walk around. And you are shining, right? You are made of light. Probably you can get a job. Just walk around Times Square. And show people, look, I'm made out of light. And maybe someone will give you some money. I think so. But, no. Something else happens. When hatha yoga happens, your body does a beautiful thing. Then all of the prana came into sushumna. Because of that, you have love. Because this is where love and understanding are living here. So your love is like thousand percent, ten thousand percent. You love more than other people. You love everybody. And I'll tell you someday what happens. It's beautiful. It's very beautiful. When you get it in, something happens. But you become a very loving person. And your body is made out of light. Light body is very efficient. This one is not efficient. Light body is efficient. Why? You can split. You can clone. You can make copies. Nirmala. The current Nirmala. Avatar. You can split your body. You can go and teach yoga class in, what's the other place called? Central and Calvary. What's all the pure yoga centers, right? You can teach a yoga class at each center at the same time. [Говорящий 2] No. [Говорящий 1] Light body is not limited. This body is bad body. This is a stupid body. [Говорящий 2] I would probably love to see you come to yoga classes. Yeah. [Говорящий 1] So you can split the body. You can split the body. And your love splits the body. Your love splits the body. And you can be on, you can be in many places helping many people at the same time. Because you want to. You want to. So we believe you can go to many worlds at the same time. Locas. You don't have, then you are not limited to Hong Kong. You can have one body in New York. You can have one body in Los Angeles. You know, you can be on the beach in Mexico. One body can be relaxing, okay? And then the other ones are helping people. You know, the other, all the other bodies are helping people. That's, in the end, that's what will happen to you. It will happen to everybody. Why? Because everybody has a Sushumna. And everybody has Prana. That's all you need. That's all the qualification you need. You need a body. You need a Sushumna. And you need Prana. And then I can predict, I can say, you will, you will become light. And you will serve millions of people at the same time. And not just one world. You, you, you're going to start teaching this in one yoga center in Central. But later you will, you will be teaching it in many worlds. That's the goal. That's the goal of Hatha Yoga. You will be that. I, I know that because I know you have a Sushumna. And I know you have Prana. It's just messed up right now. You know? No, there's temporary. This is temporary problem. It always straightens out. You know? That was why my teacher was crying. He, he saw you. And, because he can see, right? He can see the head. He's like, oh, they, they will be, they'll be all over the place. Fifty million. We can make a thousand million. You see? He's, he understands. Okay. So now, unfortunately, we have to do the yoga. Okay? So take a ten-minute break. Do pee-pee vayu. [Говорящий 2] Have some water. [Говорящий 1] Have some water. Okay? And we're going to rearrange the mats a little bit so, so you can see what's going on. The yoga is very easy, okay? This is level one. Okay? Okay? Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
