[Speaker 1] And I will make other small announcements, news later. Do you want to finish the class of the Bodhisattvas, the discussion we had a while ago? Let's see... Yes, good. Those two teachers, Master Shura and Master Shantideva, Shura means power, and then warrior, and then... Power means warrior, something like that. And Master Shantideva, they said that you lose a thousand eons of good karma if you get angry with anyone. And Jetson Kappa wanted more information. He said, let's see, what are they talking about? Say you, then, you, then. [Speaker 2] This is a very unusual use of these two common words. [Speaker 1] You means object or country, and the other means support. But in Vinaya, it has a special meaning. It means the person to whom you give the votes or the teacher who gives them. And the teacher who gives them. So he is using this meaning. Here it means the person with whom you get angry and the person who gets angry. The person who gets angry and the person with whom he gets angry. Joe is who? The person with whom you get angry, and the other, Jen, is the person who gets angry. So he plays with this language. If you don't know the Vinaya language, you're not going to understand it. Let's see, what is this? We're going to put this in the dictionary, Adam. Sel means what? What does it mean? Clear. Sel means clear. Sel kam kri means it's not exactly clear. So what's he saying? Yeah, it's not clear in Shantideva and it's not clear in Shudra if the person getting mad is a Bodhisattva or not. It's not clear. But I'll tell you, if you're going to lose a hundred or a thousand eons of good karma, the person with whom you get angry must be a Bodhisattva or should be a Bodhisattva. That's his opinion. That's Jetson Kappa's opinion. He says, well, come on, if you're going to lose so many millions of years or so many thousands of millions of years of good karma, ah, come on, it should be a Bodhisattva with the person with whom you got angry. And Master Shantideva didn't say it directly. But it should be. [Speaker 2] ,GRO BA'I BSTAN NYID BYANG SEMS, ,DAR MI CHEN PO ZHES GSUNGS PA LA BAG NA, ,MYUR GYI BYANG SEMS, ,LA BYANG SEMS, ,RTOG CHE BA GCIG DGA'O, There are statements that say, which we already covered, that say that the person who has the anger has to be not only a Bodhisattva, but a person who has the anger. [Speaker 1] If you're going to lose a thousand eons of good karma, or a hundred eons of good karma, it should be a powerful Bodhisattva. ,DE LA BAG NA, ,DE LA BAG NA, ,BAG NA, ,SA BEN GCIG PAG ZAG MA, Deduction. DE LA BAG NA means extracting it from there, doing the deduction of this, then the person with the anger should also be a powerful Bodhisattva, not just a normal Bodhisattva, a powerful Bodhisattva. RTOG CHE What's RTOG CHE? The four powers. RTOG CHE means the person who gets angry must be powerful, a powerful Bodhisattva. And the person who gets angry should also be a powerful Bodhisattva to do this powerful combination like a boat colliding with an iceberg. [Speaker 2] ,DE LA CHO BA'I BSTEN NI, ,BYANG SEMS SO BSKYED RGYAS LA, ,YOD LA NI SA THOB MA THOB NI, ,ZIG LA BAS DGOS, Now, this is Je Tsongkapa also. [Speaker 1] The person who gets angry, the person who gets angry, the BSTEN, the person who gets angry, that Bodhisattva is definitely a SO BSKYED is a SO BSKYED BA is a person who has not seen emptiness directly. SO BSKYED BA means normal person in the sense that it's not special. He has not seen protect Jenna in Sanskrit. If the Bodhisattva is getting angry, this type of anger they are powerful Bodhisattvas but they didn't see emptiness directly. So, what have we learned? If you are SO BSKYED you have to necessarily have seen emptiness directly. No. Even in that sentence you can learn something important in Buddhism. You can be a person who has great compassion who is dedicating to become a Buddha and help everybody and it's not necessarily that you have seen emptiness directly. Is it true that all these people who have seen emptiness directly are Bodhisattvas? Michael, a very intelligent scientist who doesn't really care about saving the world can understand that things are coming. People who understood Heisenberg and 30 physics are very caring. Certain atomic physicists have understood this but they don't try to save the world with this. So, Machiavelli each way. So, any of the two. If you are a Bodhisattva it doesn't necessarily mean that you have seen emptiness. And if you have seen emptiness it's not necessarily true that you are a Bodhisattva. Is it necessarily true that if you are a Bodhisattva in the first level of the Bodhisattvas you have seen emptiness? Yes. Okay, good. Do you understand? Is there any Bodhisattva who has seen emptiness directly? No. Ah, very good. They are understanding. If you reach nirvana does it mean that you perceived emptiness directly? Yes, it must be like that. If you reached nirvana did you reach ugliness? No. Good. Good answer. Okay. Can you be on the Bodhisattva track and not have seen emptiness directly? Yes. In the first two paths which is the one within the five paths. The person who gets angry without any doubt has not seen emptiness directly. They are going to lose so much karma. But what do you think of the object with which you get angry? He says there are two options. Which one do you suppose? It could be an area or it could not be an area. It could be someone who has seen emptiness directly or it could be not. The person with whom you get angry. Therefore there are three options. There are three options in general. We are not talking about a thousand years or a hundred years. There are three general options. Number one the one who gets angry is more powerful than the one with whom he gets angry. Number two the one who gets angry is not as powerful as the one with whom he gets angry. This is number two. Number three is the one with whom he gets angry. Bodhisattvas. Bodhisattvas are equally powerful. Which of those three do you guess is the one in which the Bodhisattva loses so much good karma? One of the three loses a hundred. Another of the three loses a thousand. Which of the three loses a hundred? The Bodhisattva who gets angry is and the Bodhisattva who gets angry is less powerful than the other Bodhisattva. So Jetson Kapoor explains the difference. If the Bodhisattva is less powerful he loses a hundred. If the Bodhisattva who gets angry is more powerful than the one with whom he gets angry he loses a thousand. I think. In this case Jetson Kapoor uses something that is obvious. What does that mean? When you say something is obvious then when there is a loss of a hundred eons it must be a less powerful Bodhisattva. If a thousand eons are getting lost it must be a less powerful Bodhisattva. [Speaker 2] What does he mean? [Speaker 1] It's the opposite. He wants to alert people that this is his opinion. It's apparent. When he says it's apparent when Jetson Kapoor says it's apparent he means it's his opinion. [Speaker 2] You can say it seems clear. [Speaker 1] You see the meaning? When you say that it means you're not sure. It seems clear that the person who ate the cookies from the box was Geshe Michael. When you say it seems clear you let people know that it's your own deduction. And so Jetson Kapoor warns people that this is his opinion. He's careful to say this is his opinion. Because if the Bodhisattva is less powerful he loses a thousand years. If the Bodhisattva is more powerful he loses a hundred million eons or something like that. [Speaker 2] So when you say good karma is destroyed then it could refer to the second or third combination. And even within the second combination it depends on the relative power of the teachings that he says. [Speaker 1] Then he says if you really want to figure out how much karma you're going to lose look at Shakyamuni Tathagata. [Speaker 2] Look here means scripture. [Speaker 1] Writer. This is when a high lama wants to say it's debatable. [Speaker 2] He says you should check. [Speaker 1] Chepa Cha it's something that people have to figure out. When Jetson Kapoor says there's no hope when he says it's something we have to figure out he means that if later on if people have more access to the scriptures you could have more details but he says this is what I know. If someone later on sees more scriptures if John Brady has more scriptures we could have a better vision but based on what we have this is what it is. Now I'm going to explain this thing that if he gets angry with another bodhisattva the bodhisattva has to go back to the future or something like that. So any bodhisattva that hurts another bodhisattva is talking about a bodhisattva that gets angry in their mind with someone that is not yet a bodhisattva and does some bad actions and hits them when they go to the planets a hundred million planets a hundred thousand million planets a bodhisattva that hits other people that are not bodhisattvas so what does it mean to hurt? [Speaker 2] He's trying to make a [Speaker 1] distinction between a bodhisattva that gets into little trouble and a bodhisattva that gets into a lot of trouble the bodhisattva that gets into little trouble gets hurt by the general karma of hitting a million or a lot of people the other bodhisattva is the one that gets angry with a bodhisattva and that one is the one that gets angry with a bodhisattva that has to go back to its armor this is important when we cover this [Speaker 2] when we cover this [Speaker 1] when a bodhisattva gets angry in their heart with another bodhisattva but doesn't say anything doesn't say anything only in their heart is angry with another bodhisattva only that, only that [Speaker 2] any moments of anger [Speaker 1] that they have had those will be the eons sorry those will be the eons that they will have to put their armor back on again so we want to know what what does he mean when he says they have to put their armor back on again the bodhisattvas that hit so many people in thousands of worlds millions of worlds don't do so much damage but a bodhisattva but a bodhisattva that gets angry for a second with another bodhisattva they lose a lot of time they have to spend an eon for every moment of anger putting on their armor what does that mean oh my god [Speaker 2] he's going to go off on another thing [Speaker 1] I'm sorry we might die tonight he says it's apparent what does that mean it's his own opinion it's apparent that the person that you're getting angry with [Speaker 2] is a bodhisattva who has not attained their confirmation [Speaker 1] ok, he says I don't know it's like when I was a little kid in the christian church when you're 16 when you're a baby they baptize you and you become a christian you don't have to do anything you just cry but when you're 16 you have to study the teachings of the church there's a ceremony if you pass the exam the ceremony it's called confirmation it's like we certify you're a real christian you're old enough to understand the ideas confirmation we have it in buddhism too it's called lung tenwa you have enough good karma here and if a buddha sees you he says I don't know what's coming next December of 2024 you're going to be a buddha you have enough good karma that a buddha can see you and it's funny because usually they do it by putting their foot on your head but we don't do it like that or something like that and they see your karma and they say yes December of 2024 they can give you a date some people aren't good enough yet to have that confirmation and they say tell me when I'm going to become a buddha and they say it's a little bit uncertain maybe you're going to be a buddha one day or next year here it says that the person you're mad at isn't confirmed yet but the bodhisattva you're mad at sorry, sorry let's see the bodhisattva you're mad at the bodhisattva you're mad at is confirmed but the bodhisattva you're mad at isn't confirmed and then he's going to quote a sutra to prove it let's see, sorry this isn't that long a bodhisattva that isn't confirmed yet gets mad at a bodhisattva that does have their date of illumination confirmed [Speaker 2] if they get mad [Speaker 1] if they get mad if the bodhisattva that isn't confirmed yet that doesn't have their date yet gets mad at a bodhisattva that already has their date they're going to have to make a new armor so it's getting interesting what does that mean? we don't know he's going to tell us shiné bodhisattva shiné say shiné shiné shiné shiné shiné shiné what's shiné? [Speaker 2] shamatha shamatha shiné almost spelled the same in the second syllable [Speaker 1] shamatha shiné shiné finally [Speaker 2] so like you ask your [Speaker 1] your assistant for an orange juice in the morning in the morning and he comes back after midday and you say shiné finally finally that did not happen to you that didn't happen to me it's just an example I got it like 10 seconds later I got all the waffle shiné means here it means they're going to have to start over shiné means they're going to have to start over so what does that mean? what does that mean? here for for if a certain bodhisattva was at the last stages of the first five paths collection they were at the last stages of the stages of the first five paths and they were about to reach the second what happens in the second stage? you have a good disaster in your life [Speaker 2] it makes you spiritual [Speaker 1] disasters are very good now [Speaker 2] we're going to talk about it [Speaker 1] in kamalashila the first the first you have a big problem in your life you get spiritual your mom dies in your arms your brother gets shot in the head suddenly you're at home life is different than you thought it's not just rock and roll it's not just rock and roll that's the first path the second path in the second someone explains the pen to you when you get enough in the second path you can't go to any lower place so don't complain when I explain the pen there's a french guy in singapore he says why do you always teach about the pen? why do you always teach about the pen? and I say well, I'm trying to keep you out of hell, ok? [Speaker 2] sometimes lamas [Speaker 1] do something crazy because maybe they know something these bags are ready to go to the human path very fast but he got angry with another bodhisattva but in his powah powah also means how to graduate not just about projecting your consciousness to another place they were going to go to the second level but he got angry with a bodhisattva who already had his date fixed for buddhahood jetsun kapal is taking him to different sutras to give a clear answer it's hard but it's clear if you give up because it's hard I can't help you you shouldn't come to these classes if you want something easy go to another place it's hard but it's true that other bodhisattva has to be one that the buddha or some lama already gave them their date that can see the future it doesn't say it means moments of anger it doesn't mean just a second of I hate you it has to be like a few hours or something like you really hate him for a few hours it has to be a sustained anger like so many instances of sustained anger that you have but like strong anger that you don't let go for many hours they won't be able to move to the second level for all that amount of eons is it ok? do you understand? someone was asking like Geshe Geshe Michael if you can't destroy bad seeds how can you how can you destroy the good ones? this is a good answer because he doesn't destroy he doesn't destroy his his good seeds he just delays them for a certain time for a certain amount of time he delays he delays his progress and probably he will never know why he will never know why for a long time because he won't be able to go up he won't be able to go up you know only after a long time he has to keep practicing the same path for a long time to get to where he was supposed to get to the next week he was supposed to get to the second path the next week but he gets angry with a great bodhisattva and then he just delays his progress for a hundred million eons that means he will have to go back again and it will be a hundred million years again a hundred million eons again he has to start everything again it's like he goes back to the beginning again [Speaker 2] he walks a million [Speaker 1] miles he gets angry for five minutes [Speaker 2] they took him in a [Speaker 1] helicopter back to the beginning and he starts again in fact it's worse than that do you understand? that's the real meaning of destroy your karma here this is one of the real meanings you have to go back to the beginning are you ok? we're [Speaker 2] almost to the end we're almost finished [Speaker 1] with jetson kappa i have 13 minutes i'm going to use it [Speaker 2] master [Speaker 1] shantideva says that the buddha said [Speaker 2] if you get [Speaker 1] angry with a very generous in his life then for every instant of anger or hate towards them you have to stay in the hell realm now the game has changed now [Speaker 2] jetson kappa is not [Speaker 1] satisfied he's doing more things than he do he's doing more things than he do he's doing more things than he should do he's doing [Speaker 2] more [Speaker 1] Of course, you're going to destroy a lot of your good karma, but also, if a person who hasn't got the confirmation of his deity yet, who gets angry with someone who doesn't, to have to go back to the beginning is just as bad as going to hell. Okay? [Speaker 2] And then you've got to start over again. He says, actually, you can say both. [Speaker 1] You can go to hell, and then you can go to heaven. That's depressing. Number Prophet Dubele, he's going to go to another sutra. It's called... All things in the universe, are dust. All things in the universe, are dust in the dust. With what? With your wisdom. With your understanding of everything. Do you understand? It's a sutra. It's a name of a sutra. [Speaker 2] Number Prophet Dubele, he's going to go to... Okay, good. [Speaker 1] That's a sutra, he says. There's a bad karma called giving up the dharma. Now, when he's saying it out loud, giving up the dharma, giving up the dharma, he's saying, now I decided that was stupid. All that dharma stuff is stupid. It's stupid. It's stupid. Because someone told me that... They always have some excuse, like, I don't like this group anymore. I thought that was a very bad teaching. What's the karma of that? What's the karma of that? LO DUNG GI PA DU NYIN GCIG PHYING DU GSUM DU NYE BAR BZHAG NA If you change your mind later, and for seven years, you confess that negative karma, three times a day. Who said that? Buddha. This is a sutra. This is not Tsongkapa. This is a sutra. Buddha said, you reject the dharma. You say, I don't like the dharma anymore. I don't want the dharma anymore. And then for seven years, you change your mind. You say, I made a mistake. And for seven years, every single day, every single day in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the afternoon, later, you confess, I made a mistake. [Speaker 2] What happened? You can clean the karma to karma. [Speaker 1] You can clean the karma. You can clean the karma. There's a karma there, but, that person cannot reach the stage called Shanti. The number state, which is called Shanti, they cannot reach that for ten million years. Ten million years. That's the Shanti, that we call mastery, that's the mastery of Shanti, you don't have to be an animal, you don't have to be a hungry spirit, that's the level, inside the level of the pen, that you have to reach. So, there's certain kind of bad karmas you can do, but if you work really hard with the four powers, you can clean them. You don't have to go to hell, or any of that, but, there's a second result, which is a delay, ten million years. And you will not hear, nobody explaining the pen, you're going to the bathroom, when Geshe Michael explains the pen, you're going to go back, and you're going to go back to the room when you're done. No, no, no, yes, really, it happened, it happened this week. I have to go somewhere, Geshe-la, I have some stupid job, the one you missed, no way. [Speaker 2] GOS DU MED DE ZHAG DAM CHEN NA LAM BUD DU SONG BAR SONG BA'I PHYIR KYANG RNAM NAS MYONG BA DRAG PA GYUR BA'I DE PAR BYA'O So, Jetson Kappa says, and now we're finished, so, should we bother confessing? [Speaker 1] Should we bother the four powers? Yeah. Yeah. [Speaker 2] You don't have to go to hell. Will it fix the delay? [Speaker 1] Will it fix the delay? He says, no, you can't fix it. It doesn't matter how many times you confess, you can't fix it. You will always be, you know, in the bathroom, when Geshe-la, Geshe Michael explains the pen, you're going to have that karma. You're always going to walk back in when you're asking for money again. Right, oh yeah, it is. Sí, tenemos otro proyecto allá también, que va a empezar.
