IDM4, what's IDM mean? Idea-image, okay? It means a picture which is going to trigger a series of ideas in your mind, okay?

And your examination is going to be what? You know, you'll be sitting in a room with Jasmine. She's going to pull up a picture on her phone.

It's going to be Nagarjuna. She's going to say, tell me what's the connection. Tell me what's the meaning.

And you're going to say, the whole purpose of meditation is to see emptiness directly. Why did we choose Nagarjuna? He's called the Arya.

He's the most famous Arya around. Okay? And he explained emptiness exquisitely.

Okay? So, duh. So when I show you a picture of Nagarjuna and I say, or Jasmine, and she says, okay, here's your examination.

What's this? You're going to say, that's Nagarjuna.

[Speaker 2]
How do you know? He's got Nagas hanging over his head. Come on.

Okay? Maitreya doesn't have these snakes on his head. It's got to be Nagarjuna.

King of the Nagas, boss of the Nagas, okay?

[Speaker 1]
Then, what does it represent? It represents the purpose of meditation. The highest purpose of meditation is to see emptiness directly as a bodhisattva, okay?

As someone who wants to save the world. Can you see emptiness directly without that motivation? Yes.

It's possible to be selfish, just want to take care of yourself, and it's possible to see emptiness directly. But we're not on that track. We're not interested.

We're going for the big time, okay? We want to see the whole world, picture one by one, blah, blah, blah, blah, okay? That is the true moment when you become a bodhisattva, okay?

When you have that experience, okay? All right. So, don't forget to add the word bodhisattva when you say the purpose of meditation is to see emptiness directly.

You have to say, a bodhisattva's direct perception of emptiness. That's why I'm teaching you lamrim. That's why I'm a lamrim meditation teacher, okay?
