[Speaker 1] Here are the teachings in the Gyan Padhi. Sangat Prasangatupasho Gyan Guru Radhaman Sangat Chudam Sangat Jnanam Jamsubhadru Dagni Gatsuchi Dhakhi Chunyam Kibbe Sanam Ki Drola Venchir Sange Drupasho Sangat Chudam Sangat Jnanam Jamsubhadru Dagni Gatsuchi Dhakhi Chunyam Kibbe Sanam Ki Drola Venchir Sange Drupasho Sangat Chudam Sangat Jnanam Jamsubhadru Dagni Gatsuchi Dhakhi Chunyam Kibbe Sanam Ki Drola Venchir Sange Drupasho Shogi Shmogi Shmokiri Shmokiri By the way, Nick, can you ask... I have this idea to talk about your translation program in the DCI class. So if you guys want to come, can you ask the big bosses if people can come? If you want to come, you don't have to come. Well, you can't leave in the middle. I think I should introduce the cafe ladies today. How many people want to come and hear what... I was just going to outline the whole structure of the 16 translations we're doing and why they all tie together. Raise your hand if you want to come. You don't have to come. It's not required. It's the DCI class at... It's in my ACI class, I'm sorry. I'm teaching Diamond Cutter and Bodhichitta. At... 10 o'clock. 10 o'clock, 10 a.m. Yeah, that sounds like a treat. [Speaker 2] Okay. [Speaker 1] Sagee, are you already texting Scott Norid? [Speaker 2] Yeah. Okay. [Speaker 1] How about if you're not coming, raise your hand. I mean, no pressure. [Speaker 2] That's awkward. [Speaker 1] No, it's good to know how many chairs to put up. [Speaker 2] Yes. Pressure, pressure. [Speaker 1] Tell him Ben can sit on Nick's lap. Sometimes we put Peter on Marsha's lap. Sometimes we put Peter on Marsha's lap. Sometimes she picks him up and carries him around the airport. Okay, let's go. Segang, read. Chirmyong, Chirmyong, Okmin, Tartut. Rodang, Yukjit, Tugyurpe, Sosokhevoi. Yuki, Bebu, Chewe, Nammin, Gipungpo. Penche, Kile, Sugyurpe, Miowe, and Chirchen. Wow. That's how they chirte, Chirchen they paychir. Okay, good. So we were talking about the concept of a person over time. [Speaker 2] Right? [Speaker 1] And you have to get used to this structure, and it's hard. So you've got to go all the way to here. Take the unshifting karma, which is acting as projecting karma, which will project the body and mind, which will ripen from karma, in Drebuche, in the great result, which is the, I don't know, 12th of the form realm levels, right? But it's the third of the, it's the third of the eighth of the fourth form realm level. Can I say that? Okay. Okay. So, take that karma, which is in the mind stream, okay? Or in the mind of a non-arya, okay? Who is gonna be, okay, who is of the same mind stream, gyuchiktu gyurpa, okay? Who is gonna be a chirmyo, okay? A non-returner, who ends up in the highest of the fourth form realm levels, called below no other, okay? Or the ceiling, okay? So, he's got karma, it's supposed to throw him to great result, which is the highest you can go as a non-arya, but then somewhere in there he's gonna become an arya. And then he's gonna become, more than that, he's gonna become a non-returner. And it's gonna throw him to the higher part of the fourth, the highest part of the fourth form realm level, okay? So, but we just called that karma? [Speaker 2] Unshifting. [Speaker 1] Okay? So, that's the whole debate, you know? It's supposed to be really cute. The guy says, is it not shifting? No. But it's shifting. Right. I got you. Got it? Okay. So, all that stuff we did yesterday is just so you can appreciate that it's a non-shifting karma which is gonna shift. Alright. Okay? Alright? And the other guy is disturbed by that. You said you called it a non-shifting karma, but it's gonna shift. So, only aryas can make it past the fourth level of the form realm. I don't know. Okay. So, it is saying that in your way, the unshifting karma will move from level 12 to 17. Something. Yeah, exactly. Exactly correct. You said it very well. Can we call those a sub-level? We have level 1. Well, yeah, we're gonna get there. We're gonna get there. [Speaker 2] Okay. [Speaker 1] By the way, here was the original debate, right? Let's look at something. This is the last paragraph that he translated in his last term. Take a karma which is unshifting, and it's going to project, as a karmic gravity, a body-mind into the level known as great result. And Kacik says, that combination of karmas cannot shift to anywhere else. It must go to the great result. And then we said, well, what about this guy who's gonna become an arya halfway through? More than an arya, he's gonna become someone who doesn't come back to the desire realm, and he gets thrown into the highest part of the form realm. So, okay. That's our counterexample. [Speaker 2] Why does it say this particular combination of karmas in the previous one? [Speaker 1] It's a translation of shitan. [Speaker 2] It's one thing. [Speaker 1] It's a translation of shitan. Combination. [Speaker 2] But, well then, why does it say that, when we're talking about one thing which is two things? [Speaker 1] That's a combination. Okay. Right? When you say shitan, it means a combination of two things. That's all. [Speaker 2] So, the part about it being unshifting, and it being able to project, those are two things as opposed to two qualities? [Speaker 1] They're two qualities of a single object, which is the meaning of shitan. [Speaker 2] So, would you say this particular combination of qualities cannot? [Speaker 1] They're both karmas. This is a karma, and this is a karma. This is a karma, and this is a karma. And they're a combination of karmas. Okay, anyway. Here we go. So, we say dertao, meaning, oh, is it true that it cannot shift to anywhere else except to project where it was supposed to project? Dertao. You're telling me it's not going to shift to anywhere else except for great result, right? According to you. That was your kajik. That's what you started, okay? Then he says, well, why do you say that? We say, well, it is the combination of those two karmas. According to you, if something is the combination of two karmas, it cannot shift to another place. Now, we gave you a chit-chen. It's a thing that is going to shift. And it is those two karmas. Okay? Then he's getting confused, right? Just like you guys. Then he says, chit-chen, denpa-chen, denpa, if you agree that it's, you know, going to project into great result, all right, de-yo en-yenpa-thang, that, it's not going to project in great result. It's going to shift. Where? It's going to shift to the five pure levels, which are Arya levels, in the fourth form realm results, right? na-me-gyi-po-po-yang-pen-je, ken-pe-ye-che, okay? So, it is shifting. de-yo en-yenpa-thang, it is shifting. Why? It's going to go to one of the pure levels. Okay? It's above great result. It's not going to great result anymore. Okay? Got it? Then I had all this in there for Sugeng's note, so forget all that stuff. Okay? That was a lot of work. Seems to say that. Okay. Okay, go. Let's do it fast, because if the dentist shoots it fast, they don't feel it so much. Okay. Good. chir-myo-ok-men-tha-tuk-dro-de, okay? This person is going to be a non-returner in the ceiling. Ngun, previously, okay? Earlier. Okay, ngun. Ngun can also mean blue. So be careful. Same spelling? Yes. Same spelling, yeah. But blue is always ngun-bo, so that's a little bit better. So-so-ke-we-ne-kap-su, at the point when he was, okay, ne-kap means at the point, at the point when he was still a non-arya, when he was still a non-arya, okay, he sakpa, he collected karma, which was going to throw him into the body and mind as a ripening of karma, at great result, okay? Back when he was a non-arya, okay, he collected this karma that was going to throw him into great result. De-ni, but that's same guy, okay? And you have to, you've got to translate this right, because de-ni can mean tatva, suchness. It can mean shunyata, emptiness. It doesn't mean that here. Here it means that same guy, de-ni, that same guy. Okay, so you've got to be careful with de-ni. Don't translate it as emptiness. I'm okay. I mean, it's a little, but it's okay. Let's keep going. If anyone feels like they need to change it, I don't mind. De-ni, this chi is important, and it's not too common, and it means later on, and it's as opposed to mun, okay, so later on, okay, chir-myo-ngi-ten-la, it feels like he becomes a chir-myo-ng in that life that he was a soso-kye-wo, so he made a lot of progress in that previous life. So later on in that life, it feels like to me, he got a ten. This ten also means body and mind. This ten also means body and mind. Okay, in that same life, in that same body and mind. So ten can mean basis, meaning body and mind. Okay, in that same body and mind, after he had become a non-returner, but he still, you know, wherever he was to start out with, I guess it was the desire realm, he did sam-ten-pel-gong. He did the lion's dance. Okay, he did this alternating meditation. So pel, this pel doesn't mean glory, it doesn't mean to increase, it means pel-mar, pel-ma, and pel-ma means alternating. Okay, so he did this alternating meditation, lion's dance, okay. Yeah, adjectival, alternately, gong. So the full name is pel-mar gong-ma. gong che-pa la ten-ne. This ten means due to. Okay, so don't confuse it with this ten. This ten means due to his having done che-pa, alternating meditation, he got to be born into the five, one of the five pure levels. Okay, and that kind of cause for being born in the five pure levels has been described in scripture. Whenever they say sung, it means scriptural authority. Look, it's not me, it's stated, it is stated in scripture. Okay, so it's stated in scripture that it's possible that a person who was supposed to go and be a be a non-arya in the Great Resolve, and he wasn't doing this, okay, right, he was just doing the crystal, the sugar crystal meditation. He was just doing this crystal, sugar crystal meditation, okay, he stopped there, he focused on that, he was supposed to be born as a non-arya in Big Resolve, okay, but then, in his lifetime, before he died, he worked really hard, he became an arya, and then he became a super arya, who doesn't have to come back to the desire realm. And then, on top of that, he mastered switching meditation, okay, and because of all that, he was born into the pure realms, and specifically, the highest one, the highest of the five. Got it? Still within the fourth concentration realm, still within the fourth form realm, okay? Got it? And that's the end of the story. Okay. Now the point is, they're going to cover it later, but, and I'll just tell you what's coming up. There's a thing called satsung. Say satsung. You know Tsong Deng Nga. That's a big quiet this time. Yeah, we know. You know, the five, what does it do in five ways? No, no, no, no. The five certainties of... Sem dang, sem chung, sum, sum bag pa. Oh, the five connections, the links. Yeah, the five links. Okay, five ways that the general mind and a mental function are linked in five ways. Same time, same duration, same stuff, same object. Same basis. Did we... That's same object. Same aspect. Same aspect. And something else. Okay. And, that sung means equivalent. Equivalent. Satsung is a concept in Buddhism that's very important in the study of meditation. And it means equivalent level. You see? And it means border making karma. Border, the karma that makes borders between realms. It's a very beautiful subject. It's called satsung. G-S-A? M-T-S-U-N-G-S. [Speaker 2] Right? It's right. [Speaker 1] Yeah. Same sung as in sung dang nga. But it means equivalent. The only other place you see this sung is when they say all kinds of emptiness are sung. All kinds of emptiness are equivalent in a certain way. Okay? So it's very cool. And what we're going to find out is that it doesn't count as a yoga to move between parts of the fourth form realm level. Because satsung, the border, same karmic border. You're in the same karmic border. You're still in the fourth form realm. You know? You can shift between those. That's not what we mean when we say not shifting. We mean satsung. You can't shift from third to fourth level. You can't go from form to formless. You can't go to desire. You can't go within the different formless realms. Different ones. But hey, these guys are all in the same satsung. They're in the same borders. Karmic borders. So he's not yoga. He's not shifting anywhere. Okay? Got it? Yeah, it's kind of cute. So you learn a lot about meditation here. And you learn a lot about not getting off the elevator too soon. This is where it comes. Okay, all right. Now we came to wrong route. Dr. Wu asked me some questions yesterday about what's... I don't get the difference between shifting karma and pure karma and impure karma. And there was one other one. Projecting and finishing and accomplishing. And now here's where it comes. So that's why I didn't answer you yesterday, Dr. Wu, because I knew it was coming. So it's all here. These are the definitions of each of them. This is wrong route. Okay? Now the debate's over. Now we just tell you what's correct. Which is the way education goes in America. There's no argument. There's no debate. They just tell you and you memorize it and you take a test. You get to go to Princeton if you can remember. And you don't have to think about it. So it's not didactic. Okay. Dialectic. Sorry. Okay, here we go. Good. Okay. Here's the definition of pure karma. Okay, here's the definition of pure karma. Okay, sakme. And we just had in the place where the low came in Stanley's text was chen nam rab dun nam jen mey par nyo mong nam the reason beings wander around in circles in samsara is they can't distinguish between sakchen and sakme. Okay? So here's sakme. As far as karma. Sakme kile. What's the definition of pure karma? And this is a very debater's definition. You gotta yeah, you gotta protect your position. You gotta say for example may I point out that there's two tsors here. Mainly It means, I know there's exceptions. Don't bother me. I know there's exceptions. You know, I'm just saying mainly. Like your wife says, where have you been the last week? Mainly I was working. Then she's like, did you lie to me? No, I said mainly. Okay. Well, no, that's a different. Okay, so here we go. Rangnyi It meaning the pure karma. Okay, that's the definition. Starts with it meaning the pure karma. Tsor, mainly. And then this is kunlong as a verb. Motivates. Motivated. Okay. So yesterday in my DCI class we had three kinds of raw karma. And the first one was kunlong. And here's the verb. To motivate. Okay, motivated by. Motivated. What motivates it is mainly. It is rangnyi, right? What motivates it is mainly. And then he says, I'll give you two choices. Okay. Now, there's two choices to what could motivate this karma. Okay, I'll give you two choices. It could be nyomong. Or it could be nyomong ki pakchak. Or it could be the deep seeds for negative emotions. So, now, knowing that I'm defining sakme gyi le, pure karma, which one do you choose? Yeah, exactly. It's the deep seeds. It's not manifest anger. You see? So, understand one thing. Pure karma is still dirty. Okay, all right. Got it? Pure karma is still dirty. When we get to the karma that makes Buddhas, we call it gewa din, gewa kun, sunam yeshe tsok. The collections of wisdom and merit. We don't call it karma. So, pure karma means less dirty karma. Okay, got it? In Buddhism, the moment you say karma, it's dirty. What are we defining here? What is the subject? What did you say? Generally, what section are we in? Yeah, link two of the cycle of pain. Okay? We're still in pain, okay? We're discussing the second link in pain. Okay, so, yeah, it could be pure pain karma or impure pain karma. Okay? Got it? The karmas that make a Buddha are not even going to be in here, in this book. Okay? They don't belong in here. This book's about the Wheel of Life. Got it? Cool? Okay, so, he says, nyi kyi nang ne, if you had to choose between the two, of the two, and do not translate this as from among the two, because that's not English. Okay? I'm really one of my pet peeves. Okay? If you want to get on my bad side, put from among the two. Okay? Of the two, in English, in waiter's English, restaurant English, of the two, it's either going to be triggered by, motivated by, negative emotions, or the deep seeds for negative emotions, but we got this pa here, so Ben Kramer's going to tell me. Yeah, good. Okay? So, your definition's going to get really, it does not say, motivated by negative emotions. It says, motivated by something involving the negative emotions, because the motivator can be not a negative emotion, but it can still be involved in a negative emotion. Okay? So, anytime you see pa, anyo mong, you are not allowed to translate it as negative emotion. It's not. It's something to do with the negative emotions. Okay? That's a different thing. Okay? And very few people will ever figure out the difference. Okay? Got it? And it makes the sentence nasty in English, and I don't care. It's nasty in Tibetan. Read this to a normal Tibetan, they're like, oh, what? Okay. Sometimes we have local people come, local people who live around the monastery, they come to hang out on the wall. They're allowed to go like this on the wall, and we're debating on the other side of the wall, and they're like, this, I heard one guy say, what language are they talking? It's Tibetan. Nah. Okay. All right. Now, he's covering his rear end again. Mainly, it has been motivated, past tense, slangs. Here's present tense, slong. Past tense, slong. It has been motivated mainly by the deep seeds for what is involved with negative emotions. Okay? So, what are we defining? Pure karma. Okay? Now, but it's a kind of, tsulwa means effort. Okay? Tsulwa means effort. Impulse. Perfect. Impulse. Okay? Tsulwa. Betsul, for example, means make efforts. Okay? Tsulwa means impulse. We're gonna get it, it's coming. Next sentence. I knew you were gonna say that. Okay. It's, so, it's a tsulwa, and it's trouble. Subtle impulse. It's a subtle impulse within the mind. Okay? And that subtle impulse is nyomongle shen. Yeah, it is not the negative emotion itself. It's other than the negative emotion. They're living in the same brain. But it's a subtle impulse which is not the negative emotion. Got it? Shenle. Chamo, more, that's its essence. That's its essence. That's its guts of it. The essence of it is that it's a subtle impulse. I love the word impulse, it never came to me before. It's perfect here. Subtle impulse, and it's nantok. This haven't there stood? This spelling of tok, with an S, it would mean realization. But without the S, it means just some kind of idea in your mind. Nantok means, it can mean superstition. You know, why doesn't he walk under ladders? Nantok sabo. He's got a lot of superstitions. Okay, so it means like a kind of a lousy state of mind. You know, nantok, like some kind of thought. You know, he's got some thought that I don't like him, but it's not true. So it kind of means like random thought or something like that. Okay? Yeah, but it's, he's trying to degrade it. He's trying to say it's just an idea. You know, it's just, just a random thought. You know, it's not a good thought. He's not saying it's a mental, he's not saying it's a negative emotion. He just said it was other than a negative emotion. But it's still some kind of concept, conceptual idea. And it's a sem chung. Sem bah. It's a movement of the mind. It's a mental function, which is a movement of the mind. And yesterday in the DCI class, we learned that that's the definition of karma itself. So he threw in, you know, movement of the mind. Get it? So he covered the layer part. You see? Everything before that, everything before sem chung sem bah is covering sakme. Pure. What makes it pure? Oh, it's just kind of a subtle impulse in the mind. It's kind of idea. And it's not really the negative emotion itself. And if you had to choose where it's coming from, from between stuff involving mental function, or stuff involved with the deep seeds from mental functions, I'd have to say it goes with the deep seeds from mental functions. Okay? It's motivating it. Okay? Got it? That's the definition of sakme kirtan. And that's why I didn't have time to answer you yesterday, Dr. Wu. The definition is how many lines? Five lines. Okay. So good luck making an English sentence out of that. [Speaker 2] Okay. [Speaker 1] By the way, don't forget the old the thing they taught me in Russian class was divide and conquer. Split that sentence up. Don't try to get everything in the sentence. Your reader will thank you if you say this has three parts. Okay? All right. Now this is what Dr. Kramer wanted. Go. Senshi ni. [Speaker 2] Senshi ni. [Speaker 1] Good. Nyen rang ja chong pe gyu kyi jey tok kyi me kap su san la chö tun du kyi san pa tau You have the skills to translate this, especially the human dictionary. [Speaker 2] That part's correct. No. Good. [Speaker 1] Listener or self-made Buddha. Nyen... Nyen... [Speaker 2] Nyen tu... [Speaker 1] Nyen tu sum rang... [Speaker 2] sang ye Yeah, they're in jey tok. [Speaker 1] After the direct perception of emptiness. They already came out. They already came out of emptiness. At that point... Yeah, good. Movement of the mind. Now all you need is san la chö tun du. All you need is san la chö tun du. You're getting there. I'll give you a clue. Tun is a verb. Wants to. Wants to tun. To... [Speaker 2] To someone else. To someone else. Other hand. [Speaker 1] They came out of the direct perception of emptiness. They're out of it now and they say, Oh, I gotta... [Speaker 2] Yeah. [Speaker 1] You wanna hear some kodama? [Speaker 2] Okay. [Speaker 1] That start making lei. That's second link karma. Fresh karma. It's gonna keep him in the wheel of life. And he's a dark chomba. That's subtle. Trouble. Okay? And there's a long, long argument. There's a long, long debate about this. Sometimes it's called ne ngen len. And I warn you, someday you will meet it. Ne means place. Ngen means bad. Len means to take. Take a bad place. And it doesn't mean that. It means super subtle, you know, impulses in the human mind, even in the mind of an arhat. Notice he restricted it to non-Bodhisattva arhats. Because that would be a Buddha anyway. Yeah, but what I'm saying is he's identifying subtle shadows in the mind of an arhat. Okay? Like shadows in the mind of an arhat. Okay? Lower arhat. [Speaker 2] So he's also saying that that desire to teach the Dharma in Jeta Piyashe is coming from a normal thought, something which is... [Speaker 1] Yeah, good. Something to do with... There's some kind of shadow there. It's not a pure, pure motivation. [Speaker 2] And he's also saying that... [Speaker 1] And I think it's important for anyone who teaches. You know, all of us have impure motivation. We all want attention. We all want people to think we're cool. And if an arhat has trouble with this, then maybe we do. [Speaker 2] You know? [Speaker 1] No, it just means somebody else. To another person. [Speaker 2] Right. There's another. [Speaker 1] Yeah, meaning they want to impress somebody. I mean, in the end, it's... But an arhat cannot have cannot have a negative emotion. Cannot have. They defeated the enemy. But they still have this shadow. This bakchak. Okay? Very subtle. And sometimes it's called nengen len. Shadows of... Living in the shadow or something. [Speaker 2] Can this guy have impulses which are not tied up in... Or sorry, not coming from things which are tied up in... [Speaker 1] Mostly has those impulses. [Speaker 2] Mostly has those... [Speaker 1] I'd say 99%. [Speaker 2] So what differentiates this that makes it clearly an example of the other? [Speaker 1] That you have to study scripture. I mean, you have to dig around. This is tough. This subject is nafty. Yeah. This subject is hard. I remember reading this and feeling very depressed about it. Like, oh man. Could it be that because he's seeing the people he's proposing to teach us and separate from them? No. He's got... Maybe. But I don't... That's what I meant. He's overcome all seeds for ignorance. I don't know. Sit with it. Let's go on. The next one is easier because it's sak chen kyi le. We're going to do the definition of sak chen kyi le. Now this one's easier. [Speaker 2] Go ahead. [Speaker 1] Yeah. So here's the definition of impure karma. The definition of impure karma. [Speaker 2] Yeah. [Speaker 1] Just change the word. When he says you can choose between whether it is motivated by a negative emotion or whether it's motivated by the deep seeds for negative emotion. Mainly, it has been motivated by the negative emotions that make it themselves and he didn't say pa. Okay? And that means he was trying to avoid the word mental affliction or negative emotion in regards to an arhat. When he did the pure karma, he added the pa. He added the pa in the first line because it was an arhat. Well, because he's talking about the deep seeds. No, no. Oh, you're right. You're right. I would debate this pa. Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe, but we'll never know. Well, actually, he wrote two books on the Wheel of Life, so you could compare it to his other book. Yeah, we have it here. It was the first book we ever printed off a computer. Okay, thirty... thirty-three years ago. Okay. I'm getting weird, right? You won't be... kun ne long she, you won't let shin be sang che. Okay, the rest is clear, right? It has... It is motivated, kun ne long je, by something to do with negative emotions. If you have to choose between the two, the deep seeds for negative emotions... No, Nick. You're saying the division between things that are motivated by things associated with negative emotions. Yeah, you're right. Okay. It's mainly by the... It's not by the deep seeds. It's by the more surface things, more surface. [Speaker 2] I mean, is it just a grammatical thing when you're doing what Jenna did to bok chok that he wants to use the peg? Did you just say nyo mon ke bok chok if you wanted to, or do you... [Speaker 1] No, I don't think so. [Speaker 2] But I was just... [Speaker 1] Otherwise, he didn't have to use it here. No, he would have said nyo mon ke. Yeah. Yeah. He has a reason. He's doing it for a reason. Okay? It sticks out. If you know Tibetan well, it's... It's weird. He wants it there. Okay. Now, we get some easier stuff. Okay? Which is fun. And this also answers Dr. Wu's questions. Now we're going to get some standard divisions of karma. Okay? We kind of did them yesterday in the DCI class. Okay? Here are some standard divisions of karma. Please go ahead. Say it this way. Pause this way. Ge? Mi ge? Lungpa ten. Lungpa ten. [Speaker 2] Okay. Ge? Mi ge? Lungpa ten. [Speaker 1] That's the three. Now, when you have a division into three, you say bla, bla, bla, and that makes three. Dung sum. Okay? So don't get confused by this dung. It just means and that makes three. And three. Okay? So when you have a number and you had the dung before, this just means total three. Okay? What are... If you divide ye na, if you divide karma by go ne, okay, which is literally via, if you divide it by what? Motivation. Motivation. Good. There's three kinds. One... Yeah. Nowadays I'm in the mood to translate it as good karma, but I... You can say virtuous. Good karma, bad karma, and... Neutral karma. Neutral karma. Okay. And lung ma ten. Somebody tell me why lung ma ten. Because the Buddha didn't say whether it's good or bad. Didn't mention. Yeah, the root of the word neutral is wasn't clarified. Was not clarified. But it doesn't mean that every possible neutral karma was purposely not clarified by the Buddha. He didn't have time to clarify all that. He was walking across the grass. Neutral. Driving your car. You know, he didn't... Okay. Here. juk goy go me yena lung ngak yi sung gi lay sung yin Yeah. juk go means how you engage in it. How you engage in it. The instrument you use for engaging. So go means door, right? Three doors of expression. juk go. Three ways to express yourself. lung ngak yi Body, speech and mind. Yeah, body, speech and mind. Physical karma, verbal karma and mental karma. Mental karma, raw karma. Okay. Okay. Now we can divide them a third way. Go ahead. sung gi nyen poy gyur neng che na yena yena pong pong gyur pong che na Good. Yeah, good. Nyen poy is the remedies or fixes or antidotes. We have it mainly in the Four powers. Mentioned in the Four Powers a lot. Pong che means what's gonna help you get rid of it. Okay? What's going to help you get rid of it? Okay? So if we divide it that way, by that, by that way, GONE, okay? And by the way, that last GONE was a little confusing because there's two GOES. This GOE means, which, this GOE means, which door of your body do you use to do it? Your, your mouth, your body, or your brain? And the GONE just means THROUGH. Yeah, it's just an adverb, THROUGH. Okay? Preposition. THONG SPANG BSGOM SPANG. Okay? There's two kinds of karma. The kind you get rid of by seeing, by the path of seeing, and the kind you get rid of by the path of habituation. And he made a mistake, and he left out MI LOB GONG, MI LOB SPANG. I was waiting for someone to object. Did you ever read this and wonder why there's no MI LOB SPANG? [Speaker 2] Yeah, good. [Speaker 1] Yeah. Okay, got it? You can't say a karma which is eliminated by the fifth path. The fifth path is, you're already there. You see what I mean? There is no fifth path. The fifth path doesn't do anything. It's just a place you get to. Got it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, impossible. But they already got to MI LOB LOB. [Speaker 2] Right, so that they still have that one. [Speaker 1] Yeah, okay, you're right. Okay, so anyway, in general, all karmas can be divided into the kind you get rid of when you see emptiness directly, or the kind you get rid of after that. By the way, that's interesting. How about GYOR PANG, or SOG PANG? Yeah, what was it? You can't, because you understand the emptiness of subjects, intellectually. But what this is saying is, you never get rid of your karma until you see emptiness directly. But don't forget, we're defining karma as the second link. So in that case, it's only an Arya who can do anything about the second link. Okay, got it? Karma in general, probably someone on GYOR LAM can get rid of some kinds of karma. But we're not talking about karma in general. We're talking about karma as the second link. And the only person who can affect karma as the second link is an Arya. Okay, and by the way, it's coming. That debate is coming. One more way to divide. Go ahead. And this is kind of an answer for Dr. Wu, this section. Good. He's self-correcting. I really like it. Which means he listens. Good. By the way, this discussion is going to come in Dr. Wu's text today, if we get that far. This discussion is going to come in his text. Your texts are going to start to overlap. In the end, there will be one big sugar ball. That's what they say in Tibetan. So if we divide it, by how it gives its result. So this is a similar jinn to the jimbe paichin, which means the first perfection, giving. But this jinn, ngin, is also in the sense of when you extract medicinal strength from an herb. When you boil a plant to extract the medicine from it, it's called ngin. Okay, jinn. So how do you extract your result from it? How does it give its result? How does it give its result? [Speaker 2] Two different ways. [Speaker 1] Yeah, nyong'e and nyongwar mang'e. Good. Will definitely be experienced. Or it's not certain that it will be experienced. Certain to be experienced, nyong'e. Or nyongwar mang'e. Not sure if you're going to get some result or not. And then he says a very, very, I think, sexy and controversial thing. And this is a subject in Dr. Wu's text. It's coming up in Dr. Wu's text. Dambodang chela sak. Chela sak is an unbelievable word. Anybody want to take a shot? By the way, it comes in Kamalashila also. It's a big subject in Kamalashila. Yeah, the la means and. [Speaker 2] So say it again. Other way around. [Speaker 1] Yeah, committed and collected. Committed and collected. Okay. The karma has been committed and a karma has been collected. A karma has been committed and the power of a karma has been collected. Okay. Now, then there's a chela masak. Done and not collected. And the difference is what we studied yesterday in the raw karma class is whether you dock your chepa or not. Yeah, do you do coffee meditation? It's mine. This is mine. This is Allison. This is something Allison's proud of. This is what I want Allison to be. Or you say, I did it, but it's not Allison. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it. It's not really me. No, I didn't put it. It's not here. I'm just saying the concept is the same thing. Oh, BDAG, GIR. [Speaker 2] Make it as your own. [Speaker 1] Yeah, very beautiful word. To own it in English. We say to own it. And that's coffee meditation. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. So now he says a controversial thing, which we'll have to explore next time. The first is equivalent to done and collected. The second is equivalent to done and not collected. What's the first? Definitely going to be experienced. What's the second? Yeah, if you don't want your good karma to be definitely experienced, do it, but don't own it. Don't do coffee meditation. See what I mean? This is a justification for coffee meditation. [Speaker 2] Okay. [Speaker 1] And what Mr. Wu's text is going to say is if you make a mistake, for God's sake, make it che la masa. Do it, but don't collect it. Okay, do it, but don't put it in your pocket. Cool. It's very cool. [Speaker 2] Yeah. [Speaker 1] It's very cool. And that's where a lot of the DCI emphasis on coffee meditation comes from. Ended here, 18. No, this is just an idiom. Say again? Idiot? [Speaker 2] No, this frustrating la, you know? [Speaker 1] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [Speaker 2] I mean, it just... [Speaker 1] It means end here. Okay. Yeah, then la means end. [Speaker 2] And that's pretty darn low of a clause that we're going to need. [Speaker 1] Especially that short, you know? Usually it should be a huge sentence and then say la and then a huge sentence, but to say che la sa is mean. [Speaker 2] It's not fair. It's not fair. [Speaker 1] You know, I can sit here and tell it to you, but it took me years to figure it out. You see what I mean? So, you know, yeah. Okay, here we go. Sexy coming up next.
