[Говорящий 1] We're going to do a review of what we learned this week. We had 99 images so far this week. I went through and chose the ones that I think are most important. I think it's about 15, 20 of them. Maybe we'll have pop quiz. I'll show a picture and if you remember what it's about, raise your hand. Am I going to offer money at Jigme? Should I offer money or is it too ambitious? What did you say? Let's offer money. [Говорящий 2] Do you want me to cover the people online? [Говорящий 1] Tim, is there a way to let people online participate? Should we limit it to people online? Okay. All right, let's do that. So look, Coco, this is a very delicate thing. You got to have your eye glued to the thing. I'm wondering if there's a way. You should sit with Sunim. You should sit next to her, okay? Because the caption, you can see the caption, which the people can't see. Okay, Sunim? You know the answer before they start flying across the chat. When they start on the chat, you got to know what you're looking for. And if people lose money who got money, they're not happy. Their self-cherishing kicks in. So, yeah. We're starting at 40.7, okay? And Sunim, you can just, if you're in the text, you can just follow the asterisks. Search for asterisks. It'll jump to the next one. Okay, you good? So search for 40.7 in the document. Yeah, okay. All right, here we go. First picture. Any guesses? Yeah. Yeah. Chloe had it, but whoever got it online first gets the $100, okay? Now, if you win online, it's your problem to get the money from Venerable Jigme, okay? It's not my problem, okay? If you don't get the money, that's your problem. She's not going to send it to you. You're going to ask her for it, okay? And give her your PayPal or whatever. And don't send whiny messages to Geshe Michael. Okay, so Coco, who was it? Is it, it was me or I can't do it? It's like, if I can't take care of myself, how can I take care of all these other people? How's that? Joanna, in Germany? Yeah, yay, congratulations. Yeah, and it's this feeling of kind of overwhelmed. Like Geshe-la, you want me to take care of all living beings and I can't even take care of my own rent. How can I do that? And the idea is, the argument is that you can do it because you can change your capacity to unlimited capacity. It is possible. The human spirit was built to take care of countless people at the same time. You just have a temporary block. You were made to take care of countless people at the same time, and you have that capacity, but it's just temporarily blocked. So it's not like, you don't have to think it's impossible. Geshe-la, I can't even pay my own rent. How am I going to take care of countless beings? Don't think like that. You were built from the factory to take care of all living beings, and all you have to do is kind of uncover that capacity. You have that capacity. And it's not metaphorical, and it's not billions of years. It's not a religious opinion. If you are like a pen, then you do have that capacity. You already have that capacity. You have the capacity to bend time and space. You could serve all beings at the same time. For a hundred dollars, what proves this principle astronomically? God dang. A hundred dollars for Janice. She said Mercury proves it astronomically. What does that mean? Einstein said, if it's true that you could shorten time and shorten distance by curving it, then when Mercury comes out from behind the sun, its path to the human eye should be delayed slightly by the gravity of the sun. If you can bend light, then therefore you bend time. Then it takes longer for something to happen, or it takes shorter for something to happen. So it takes longer for light to come to your eye from Mercury if it passes by the sun first. That means space has been lengthened. You can shorten and lengthen space. If you can travel, if space can be shortened and lengthened, then time can be shortened and lengthened. It is theoretically possible, if Einstein is correct in the general theory of relativity, that you could serve all living beings. And he predicted it, and then they discovered that he was right, that there's a slight time delay when Mercury comes out from the other side of the sun. Cool? It's even scientifically possible to serve all living beings. Cool? You will have the time and the space. You just stretch it. Here we go. Okay, next one. I'm searching for an asterisk, and I'm hitting idim 40, 14. Coco, you got what it is? This is not a picture of Daniel working at Diamond Mountain. What is this picture? Joe? What do you think? Yeah. I'll do it. Yeah, I'll take responsibility. Vivian got it, but somebody online gets the money. Rob Haggerty. You got it? Rob got it. Who was it? Rob. Rob? Haggerty. [Говорящий 2] Haggerty! [Говорящий 1] Someday I'll tell you the story of how he joined this group. I can always blackmail you, Rob. Okay, good. Do you know this story? Okay, it's a cute story. Okay, yeah, I'm willing to work for others. Let's see the image again, you guys. Yeah, it means just decide you're going to do it. Don't waffle. Don't have doubts. Don't think you can't do it. Just decide you're going to do it, and you can do it. You can do it. You have the capacity inside of you. A human being has the capacity to take care of all living beings, like the King Lotus. King Lotus with the fish, Rojita. Rojita fish. Okay, all right, good. All right, you guys are doing good. You're two for two. I'm going to try to talk slow, so I lose less money. Okay, we're going to show you something on the screen, and I want to know what it is. Definition of bodhichitta by Maitreya. Yay! Yulia Svyatenko. Wow, Yulia Svyatenko. From Ukraine or Russia? From where? Finland. Oh, yeah, she's living in Finland, but she's Russian. Okay, good. Congratulations, Yulia. I'm sure you can tell us what it says. Bodhichitta has defined us. Okay, okay, she gets the money anyway. What do you guys say it is? The two focuses. Yeah, I want to get to Buddhahood to help all living beings. And in fact, there's a serious debate in Tim's text about whether it's even possible to hold these two focuses in the same mind at the same time. Technically, it's not possible. You can't think about lunch and dinner at the same time. You mean your partner approved it? Just kidding. All right, here we go. 19, right? Okay, here's the picture. Who's got it online? 100 bucks. It's in Russian. I'm not sure if she got it. No doubt. [Говорящий 2] Maranella Arabaticevia? [Говорящий 1] Maranella got it. Okay, good. Channels. What is this picture? It's called the Grand Canal. Yeah, in Venice, okay? Yeah, you were built to help all living beings from the factory. My mind's on that. We bought a new car with my wife, and they built it on the 31st of March. It's the first time either one of us had a new car in our whole life. It's the first time I ever bought a car. We're excited. So in the fact, you were built from the factory with the necessary inner prana channels, chi, to become an enlightened being with a rainbow body and an emptiness mind. You were clear light, emptiness mind, rainbow body. You were built from the factory to be a Buddha. It's not like you have to develop anything. You have to uncover something. Cool? All right. And if you don't do it, the same canal will kill you. Okay? So it's kind of a dangerous game. All right. Yay! Number 20, right? Here we go. Roxanna got it. Yay! Congratulations. Yeah, not only were you built from the factory with the equipment you need to become a Buddha who can stretch across the universe, but you have the dharma. You have the teachings that teach you how to unlock that potential. And particularly it's the diamond way, the Vajrayana, tantra. Tantra has a bad name. I was in Punta del Este in Uruguay in a very wealthy house of a football team owner, soccer team owner. And we talked till three in the morning about dharma with the whole team. It was very cool. And then I got back on the plane to go to Rio de Janeiro, right? Across the river. And I never forget, I went to the bookstore and there's this big magazine, tantra magazine, how to have sex and smoke marijuana. I was like, so the name tantra has a bad name in the West. And even in India it has a bad name. So, I hesitate to use it. I feel nervous to use it. But it's actually like how to be a rojito fish. It's actually how to give away your whole life to others and serve others. It's not some kind of weird sex, killing chickens, stupid thing like that. It has nothing to do with it. In fact, it's a really bad deed to say that or think that. That's like saying, that's like saying people in the Christian church who are drinking wine or having communion or mass are getting drunk. It's like saying that. It has nothing to do with that. That's the body of Jesus. That's not alcohol. And they're not getting drunk. They're doing something else. So, it's a sad thing. I think we should be stubborn and keep the word. It's like guru. It's a holy thing. It's a beautiful thing. So anyway, you have access to these teachings. They are sweet, powerful ways to take care of everybody. It's how to be a fish and give yourself to other people. It's nothing dirty or strange or anything like that. It's very beautiful, very pure. And you can learn it at Diamond Mountain better than anywhere. Okay, 44.21. This is so ridiculously easy. You can reach enlightenment in three years, three months. Julia, again. Julia? Xia Tiankong. She's a fast typer. Yeah. думайте вы другой человек не только сам. Okay, good. That was a quick one. Yeah, if you follow a correct Vajrayana, which you can get at Diamond Mountain, you could become enlightened in three years, three months. Whose particular teaching of that? Tsongkhapa. Tsongkhapa. And it's not just bragging about our leader. It's really true. You can have those really cool tantric experiences where? In the vegan restaurant in New York with the mysterious waitress. It's cool. It's fun. It's really beautiful. Okay, you can do it. You got the right teachings. You got them in your hand. Liberation in the palm of your hand. What is that? Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. Take a breath. Next picture. Dun dun dun. Oh, man. That's a dangerous team. I'll do a hustle. I'll give a hundred to each. Okay, I'll do a hustle. Okay. What did they say though? Maybe they got it wrong. Sugar cane. I know it's sugar cane. Oh, excuse me. I'm not paying for that. Oh, sugar cane bodhichitta. Raksana Barbu again. Wait, did Aldo and Hustle didn't do it? They just said sugar cane. Oh, yeah. Sugar cane bodhichitta. What is it? Oh, maybe nobody's got it yet. Yay. I saved the money. It's a cream dream bodhichitta. What did she say? Yeah, cream dream bodhichitta. Not exactly. Sugar... Well, okay, we've got two. Bodhichitta, sugar canes, not real? Not bad, not bad. Skin of the sugar. Not bad. Yeah. You can say that. That's good. That's good. Who said that? That should get the money. They deserve the money. Well, Tracy got skin of the sugar cane bodhichitta before her, I think. But what did she say? Skin? Skin of the sugar cane bodhichitta? But what's that mean? Yeah, I think anna. I think anna. It sounds correct. Thanks, Natalie. Chew the inside. It's intense. It's an explosion of sweetness. Chew the skin. It's like a donut without icing. [Говорящий 2] They call you a donut. [Говорящий 1] Nah. Yeah, and intellectual bodhichitta is the skin. Like you don't really feel it. You just understand the concept, but you haven't got the feeling. That's called skin of the sugar cane bodhichitta. Okay, got it? I understand my trans-definition, but do you have it in your heart? What? That's called sugar cane. It's not a bad place to start. Okay, here we go again. Wait. Take a breath. This is the fastest I ever lost money. Okay. Go. We got it. We got it here, if you guys don't got it. You leave the past to embark on a new one. That's great. What's the path? It means you achieve something, so now you can start to achieve something else. The train came in and the train left at the same moment, really. How about say goodbye to the old life, hello to the new life? That's a desperate way to make money. It has to do with that anniversary we just saw. And then? Good, yeah. So Koko, when you finish the task of getting real bodhichitta, you start, the clock starts for your enlightenment. How's that? Anybody get that? Do you like the Korean dream and start with ultimate? We'll give it to him. Yeah? Yeah, good. So in the picture you can't really see if the guy is catching the train or leaving the train, and he's doing both. He's leaving the task of reaching bodhichitta because he finished, and now he's starting the period that defined period until his enlightenment or her enlightenment. All right. By the way, this is a, by accident you're having a good review. It's a tupkepa upaya. What's that? Yeah, tricky way to get you to review. Okay. Okay, this is an important one. I'm not taking any bad answers. Okay, Natanya. Yay! There were two of these, but I want the first one. Rachel Lim, equal right and exchange self. Dang! Who is that? Rachel Lim? Malaysia. Say the name again? Rachel Lim. Rachel Lim. Oh my gosh, you're cheating. All right. Equal and exchange. Okay, and they balance each other, right? You shouldn't work on one without the other. Normally when they teach the exchange, they forget the equal. You have to start with equal, right? You have to start with the concept that everybody has an equal right. Okay, yeah. And? Yeah, but that comes later. Sorry, no. Equal right to have... Well, don't say it because it's the next question. Okay, yeah, but anyway, this section in the Lam Rim, we have two goals. One is to try to feel that we are equal to other people. Everybody is equal. Everybody has the same rights. Okay, everybody has the same rights. And then we're going to learn to exchange, and we did not reach it in this course. We did not reach the exchange yet, okay? So that's something cool that we have to look forward to in the next course. And we're going to talk about the next Lam Rim in the third class, right? Can you do that? Or we can sell it together if you want. Okay, good, all right. All right, here we go again. Nice job. I'm on 4036, right? Is that you? Natanya is ready with her finger. Give me the Tibetan word for this picture. She did not get the right answer, and she's crying. No, I'm just kidding. [Говорящий 2] Is that enough? [Говорящий 1] So, Lojong. Lojong, yeah, that's correct. Who is that? Svetlana Duneva. Yay, first name? Svetlana. Svetlana. Yay. This is Lojong, okay? Forget all this generating enlightenment mind, terrible translation, mental training. This is Lojong. This is Lojong. Good heart. Forget all the other stuff. All those other... The other translations I think are confusing. Generate enlightenment mind. Did one of these girls generate enlightenment mind? Ooh, ooh. It's just a bad translation. This is Lojong. This is real Lojong. They love her. They have a good heart towards her. So, that's the goal of Lojong. When you think of Lojong, think of this picture. Okay, cool. All right, looking up the next one. Yeah, okay. You ready, Natanya? Five, four, three, two, one. God will see it. It's too bad you're here. You could be rich already. We're getting it sealed in secret practice, but we want a little bit more. What were you sealing? I like it. Whoever said sealed in secret practice, they got it. That's two people. Joanna got it sealed, and Aldo and Wang, secret practice. I'll give both. I'll give to both. [Говорящий 2] Congratulations, Joanna Prather. [Говорящий 1] Prather? Yeah, Joanna Prather, Germany. Okay, I think so. In this room, what do you guys think? What's this all about? [Говорящий 2] It used to be a secret. [Говорящий 1] Yeah, originally, this exchanging self and others, Lojong, it was a secret practice. It was kept secret. Then there in the second stage, it was? Hybrid. Hybrid. Yeah. The Lamrim part was open, and the Lojong part was secret. And then finally, in Chikawa? All electric. Yeah, it became totally open teaching, which is why we can teach it online. So yeah, it started out as secret. Why? Nice. [Говорящий 2] To see what others think about it. [Говорящий 1] Yeah, yeah, good. Say it again, Daniel. [Говорящий 2] It would blow people's mind if they hear what others would think about it. [Говорящий 1] Yeah, $100 for that answer. That's a $100 answer without a $100 bet. You see what I mean? Sometimes that happens in unusual cases. So don't forget to collect. Let's leave a little earlier than we planned, Ellie, before he can get to you with the total. Change your email. All right. Yeah, if we could really hear what other people are thinking about us. Man, there'd be a lot of fights to break out. Okay. 44, Sinem? I love this one. This is worth $200. Tracy McKenzie. Sorry, it's going fast. Three Generations. I know it's Three Generations. But who wrote it? I didn't see it though. Okay, I'll tell the story. Daniel, are you in the mood? Yeah, yeah. Okay, clearly and loudly. Go slow so somebody has time on the line. I want to hear about lions. [Говорящий 2] Yeah, I know the story from ACI 14. It's my favorite ACI course. [Говорящий 1] Okay, okay, go. [Говорящий 2] So there was, once upon a time, this llama. [Говорящий 1] So far, zero money. [Говорящий 2] And he stayed at a house because back in the days, the travelers, it was custom that they could stay at people's houses and get food and a bed. And it happened to be that at this particular house there was also staying another traveler. And in the other room, when this llama wanted to sleep, he heard the seven-point lojong from Diamond Lion. And the next day, he was so fascinated, eight-point lojong. And he was so fascinated by this lojong, even though, even since a young age, this guy was studying tantra from his parents and had high realization and meet angels. But he thought, this lojong is much, much cooler than speaking to deities. I want to learn this stuff. This is what I needed. This lacked my dharma practice. And the next morning, he asked this other traveler, Slow down, you got translators. [Говорящий 1] I am planting bad seeds for my own translations. Deep breath. [Говорящий 2] And the guy told him, I got this eight-point lojong from Diamond Lion. He lives in this and that city. Go there and you can receive it from him. And he was so happy, so he traveled there. But by the time he got there, Diamond Lion already has passed away. And there was a room full of his second-generation students. And they got really good instructions and practiced the lojong so well that all of them were fighting. Take a breath. I'm excited about the dharma. I love this story. I'm sorry. It's so beautiful, this story. So this lama, what's sad, he thought, oh man, I found this beautiful, beautiful lojong. And now look at these students. They are fighting. So from whom should I learn it? They clearly don't got the lojong and don't understand how to practice it. So he was already thinking to go back to his home and was really sad. But then he realized they were fighting who should get the throne. And they were not fighting in this manner, I want to have the throne. I will be the throne holder. They were fighting, you get the throne. No, you get the throne. You are better than me. No, you are way better than me. You should get the throne. And then he stayed and was bathing in this dharma. Beautiful, beautiful teachings from many of his second generation students who couldn't decide who gets the throne because each of them wanted to give it to the other students. [Говорящий 1] Not bad. Why is it important for us? Yeah, you guys can do a great job. Now you're the second generation. I'm going to retire to the coffee shop and eat donuts. No, it's a great example of a time in history when the students were so cool that I mean there's a tradition that maybe the second generation was better than the first. And they passed it on even more beautiful. So that's what we're hoping for. That's what I'm hoping for. I'm doing pretty good at it so far. I have a lot of amazing students who are great teachers. And so I'm lucky and I think we're headed that way. Otherwise I wouldn't have shown this picture. Okay. All right, next one. That's a tough one. Rosyosaka. Somebody was taking notes. I watched you take notes by the way. I know who knows the answers. Do you like UltiTool? UltiTool, like a multi-use tool? Or you want the name of the tool? We don't need the name of the tool, but what's the point? If you know how to use it, it's incredible. Halfway there. Alex is going to clarify. The ancient teachings, the lojong is the instructions that you need, how to use the saxophone. $100 for Alex. Alex in the house. This kind of wrench is super sexy. If you know how to use it, you can work three, four times faster. But you need, someone has to explain to you how to use it. So a knowledge of the lojong allows you to use every other powerful teaching properly. And if you don't have lojong and someone teaches you tantra, it's like giving a torque wrench to somebody and you don't tell them how to use it. Got it? So the lojong is the knowledge how to use all these esoteric tools. If you have love, you can use the secret tools. If you don't, you're like a schmuck with a torque wrench. Okay? Got it? And I had a funny experience with that recently. We were putting together something. I mean, and the person I was working with didn't know how to use one. It's really funny if you don't know how to use one. Right? It's like, rink, rink, rink. Nothing happened. All right, here we go. Tell me when I should stop, Tim. Say again? How about we take a break in six minutes? Okay. And that'll be enough review, I think. We'll be enough. Okay. I like this one. You know, I got this image off the internet illegally, and every time I visit any site now that comes up for sale, they think I want this shirt. What I want is the muscles, not the shirt. Krishyani Thaproge. Judge your audience. Perfect! Oh my God. Perfect answer. What's the name? Krishyani Thaproge Lange. From? Germany. Of course. Okay, great, great, great. Yeah, judge your audience. Whether you teach ultimate bodhichitta first or deceptive bodhichitta, cream-dream bodhichitta first, depends on your audience. Check your audience. You don't know whether to teach compassion or emptiness first. Check your audience, okay? Be careful with your audience. What happened to this guy? Huh? Yeah, he got his head removed. But he got to come back in a dream. All right. Nice. All right. A few more, and then we should be okay. Are you on 53, 55? 58. I'm on 55. It's somebody dancing. [Говорящий 2] Okay, 55. [Говорящий 1] All right, here we go. What's going on here? What's going on here? What does this represent? If you want a clue, let me know. The bet drops to 50. [Говорящий 2] Joyful effort? [Говорящий 1] There was a famous yogi, fake yogi. In ancient India, they put cow pies on the wall. They slapped cow pies on the wall. Why? They dry out, and then you can use them for firewood. And the king's wife, the queen, had put her diamond earrings on the shelf, the windowsill, and a crow came and snatched them because crows like bright things. And he flew away with the earrings. And then there were two crows talking to each other on the wall of the palace. And they said, I snatched the queen's earrings. And the other crow said, what did you do with them? He said, I put them in a cow pie on the wall. So there was a fake tantrica called Alipingo. And he went to the king and said, I can get the earrings back. And the king said, I'll give you half my kingdom. They're priceless. And he went to the wall, and he opened the door to the garden, and there's 3,000 cow pies on the wall. And Alipingo's like, this one! No, this one! Do you see what I mean? Oh, he's dancing. Oh, he's... It's a Tibetan expression for blind guessing. All right, anyway. How did this young man get his name? Exactly. The ship daughter who's not a daughter. What did she say when I... Because? Hide from ghosts? Anyway, if someone says, the boy who was the ship captain who kicked his mother in the head by accident, and then met 32, 16, 8, and 4 goddesses, and then ended up... Okay, $1,000. And then I'm done for then. Then we'll do question and answer. For anywhere. $1,000. Okay, you ready? I got everyone's attention. This is my grandson. He was named after something. I want to know why it's important. $1,000. Gyalse? Gyalse? [Говорящий 2] It's the story of a young man who mistakenly kicks his mother in the head and it goes against shipwreck. But in the end, he takes on the crown of all the suffering of the world for all beings that nobody else should have to suffer. [Говорящий 1] I want the final punchline. Oh. And you know who that was? That was me. $1,000. I just made a donation to my friend's new house. There's two famous stories of how Lord Buddha got his bodhichitta. Everyone knows the hell story of whipping the guy. But the other one is this one, of the boy who accepted on his head the crown of knife. Cool? Yeah, we heard another one similar. But if you debate, those two are famous bodhichitta examples. Probably the fish helped him get there. Okay, cool? All right, congratulations on lowering my bank account. And good review. You guys did a good review. Thank you, the online people. I'm very happy that you were listening. That's awesome. Thank you, Daniel and lesser assistants in the room answering all these questions so sweetly. All right.
