[Speaker 1] There's no problem with using a chair, okay? Why didn't Buddha use a chair? There were no chairs 2,500 years ago. If there were chairs, I think Buddha would have used one. I use a couch. Okay, relax your face. Eyelids relaxed. I like to find my center. I go right, then I go left, and I find the center of my spine. Then I go forward, and I go back, and you can find a spot that feels almost weightless. I think most of us put our chest too far forward, and your head tends to go forward also. So try taking the head way back, and then bring it forward until you find a sense of balance. Small smile, relaxed mouth. Don't get too serious in meditation, or yoga, or your personal life, okay? It's not that serious. Have some fun, fang song, relaxed. Shoulders relaxed, shoulders back. Maybe your hands are halfway up your thighs. Palms can be down, palms can be up, palms can be sideways. Check your forehead, relax. Relax your fingers. Pull in your lower abdomen just a little bit. Keep it there. Every time you exhale, you can tighten it a little bit, and that helps your back. And we'll do the traditional watching the breath to calm the mind down from all the busyness today. So start being aware of your exhales. Long and fine, right? Yoga Sutra. Long, steady exhales. The inhale will take care of itself. Long, relaxed exhales. Don't get too serious. Have some fun. Make sure your forehead doesn't tighten up as you concentrate. Focus is on the exhales. Then we'll do the traditional warm-up for meditation. First, think of someone who has been an important teacher in your life. Could be your parents, could be a school teacher, could be someone who taught you sports even. Could be a priest or monk when you were young. Could be a historical person like Jesus or Buddha. Could be your spiritual teacher. Could be your heart teacher, your closest teacher. It could be a teacher that you would like to meet but you haven't met yet. But in a relaxed way, without trying too hard, ask them to come and sit with you. Pretend they are sitting right in front of you, knee-to-knee. And you're relaxed, you're having fun, they're also relaxed. If you peek with your eye open, you will see they are looking at you with great affection. They are proud of you, they're happy with you. You are their spiritual son or daughter. And just sit together quietly for a few minutes. Sit with this teacher, relax with them. Enjoy the afternoon at this beautiful desert place. Quiet. You don't have to look at your phone or your WeChat. Just sit with your teacher. Silence. Friendly silence. Companionable silence. And think of one quality of this teacher that you admire. If they are your teacher, they are supposed to have some quality or know something that we don't know. And think of something about them that you admire. Their patience or their kindness, their generosity. Something that you find very beautiful in them. Think about that. Think about the times you've seen them display this quality. Now make them a gift to honor them. The traditional gift is to fill the sky with flowers, or the beautiful rainbow we saw yesterday. But another wonderful gift is to give them your practice. All the times you tried to do your meditation, the yoga you did today, the study that you did. Those are very excellent gifts. Then think of something you did in the last day or two that wasn't very nice. You were unkind to someone, or you had unkind thoughts. And open your heart to your teacher. Let them see the bad part of you also. And be honest. And they like it. They like it when you are honest with them. And they like it when you admit you're not perfect. You made some mistake. Let them see. Remember the mistake and they will see it in your mind. Now think of something beautiful you did in the last few days and open your heart and let your nama see this memory. Small good deeds, successes, sweet things. Then ask them to keep teaching you by their example, in their words, directly or through other people. Please teach me. Please keep pushing me to be better. And please stay with me. Don't give up on me. I'm a hard case. I make a lot of mistakes. I don't learn very well, but I am trying. Please stay close to me. Guide me. Okay, now we're going to do the ninth level of meditation. And it begins by thinking again of some beautiful quality about your teacher, your nama. So think of something about them that has helped you a lot. They're very patient, or they're very kind to people. They are serving people. Something you admire. I think all of us who have a teacher, there's one or two qualities about them that are especially dear to us. Think about one of them. Now please imagine the center of your mind, like a dark room. Go to the place that feels like you're in the center of your mind. I like to imagine like a bird's nest in the middle of the mind. And in that nest are, I don't know, six or seven silver eggs, like silver seeds. I like to imagine they are made of silver. So around them the room is dark, and you can't see much of the nest, but sitting in the middle of the nest there are really beautiful silver eggs. And now it's very important that you imagine those eggs are opening one by one. So choose one, and it cracks open like a pistachio nut, like a small crack opens. And then a picture comes out, like a hologram, like a picture made of light. In my Lama's case, it's that they love to serve old people, poor people. So this love that my Lama has really has a deep attraction to serving old people and poor people. And this image of them serving comes out of the silver seed, and it floats almost like a bird to the front of my mind, and it comes out of my eyes, and it settles on them like a sheet or something, and it covers them. And that's why I see my Lama enjoys to serve people, to serve old people that nobody else cares about. So I am so lucky that I have these beautiful silver seeds. So when one image comes out and lands on your Lama, covers them, then go back to the seeds in the center of your mind and see another one open. And a similar image comes out and flutters to the front of your mind, and goes out to your Lama's body, and covers the body like clothing. And you see them with this quality. So the quality you see in your Lama, the thing you love about them, is actually coming from the center of your mind, the middle of your own mind. The seeds are opening, one silver seed after another. They're cracking open, and this image is fluttering out and leaving your eyes and covering them, and that's why you see them so beautiful and so inspiring. So watch the seeds open, watch them images flutter out, cover your teacher's body, and causes you to see these beautiful things. So follow one image, let it settle on your Lama like a piece of cloth, then go back to the middle of your mind in a very relaxed way, happy way. No rush, just relax. Pick another silver egg, silver seed, watch it crack open, watch a second image come out. And we'll stay here for a few minutes, following the eggs cracking open, following the images coming out of the crack, and following the image fluttering out of our mind, and landing on our teacher and making us see them the way we see them. It's actually coming from my seeds, dark center of your mind, like a room at night, and this beautiful, lovely silver seeds opening one by one. Now please follow three exhales, long exhale, and then slowly open your eyes. Take a stretch. Drink something. If you have, drink a lot here, okay? At Diamond Mountain, drink a lot. I have Indian tea, green drink, water, cappuccino, and a Perrier. You can have at least one. Any questions about that part? That's a traditional way to start a meditation, those steps. It's called sak jang, say sak jang. Sak means, just before you meditate, try to get some good karma, okay? At least for the next half hour. Jang means, just before you meditate, try to clean some bad seeds, okay? Sak jang. Sarakni had a question. [Speaker 2] Thank you Geshe-la. Many of us are not visualizers. What do we do with this? [Speaker 1] You mean you have trouble visualizing? [Speaker 2] No, there's no picture behind the eyelids. [Speaker 1] Oh, okay. [Speaker 2] Do we just think it? [Speaker 1] Yeah, just think it is fine. [Speaker 2] Just think it, in mental words. [Speaker 1] Yeah, you can just say, I know the eggs are there, but somebody covered them with a cloth, you know, and that's okay, that's no problem. Don't feel tension during meditation. Don't say, I'm a bad person, I can't see eggs, you know? Like, let it go, you know? If you're in Kendra's yoga class and you can't do anything, she said, you just do your best and, you know, do something. Like she said, when I was laying down in the middle, she said, do something, you know? So I was like, you know, and okay, just imagine they're there, that's okay. Some people have vivid capacity to picture things and some of us don't, and it doesn't really matter. The main thing is don't get nervous, don't get tense, don't tighten up, you know? Oh, those eggs are coming. They're gold, they're not silver. Let it go, you know? You can't meditate if you're tense, okay? Just let it go, okay? Anybody else question about those? Okay, I want to explain the next step in the meditation, then we'll do it together, okay? This is the end of the first part of the lion's dance, okay? Well, not quite the end. Somebody put those seeds in your mind, okay? Somebody put those silver seeds in your mind. Some chicken came and laid those eggs, okay? Someone put those eggs in your mind, okay? And you did, okay? Then how? In my case, I was watching Immy Jethma, my lama, she so much loves to serve older people and poor people. She had a poor person in her house. He promised to leave after four days, he was there for three months. Then he needed to get to another place. She took him to the automobile's place and signed for the car. She signed for the car, got him a new car. So I see this picture coming out of my mind, right? Then I planted those seeds, okay? It has to be, I planted those seeds. Now, we do a nice exercise. We try to think, what did I do in my past life that I have those seeds, okay? It must have been something similar, okay? It must have been something similar, you see? Because shikwa makes a shikwa. I must have, in my past life, I must have been a person who was very kind to poor people or elderly people. I must have been, more than I am now, okay? I must have been, okay? And I planted those seeds. Then I want you to make a story during the meditation, inside the meditation, make a story about your past life, okay? Make a story about your past life. If you can see your past life directly, you can do it at that time. I cannot, you know? Not like all day, I cannot do that. So, I will make a story, okay? Now, all of us read a book recently, we read a magazine recently, we saw the news recently, we all saw a movie recently, you met people recently. Use them, okay? I'm reading a science fiction novel, okay? And it's a lady and she's in, it's a space opera? It's a spaceships. She's always in spaceships and she's doing cool things in spaceships. Okay, so use that image, okay? Okay, I was a lady in a spaceship in my past life and I went to many planets and helped old people. Like that, okay? Because what image is coming up in your life nowadays is also a reflection of your past life. You see, the people you met in the last few days, the books you read, the movies you saw, everything's coming from past life, okay? So use it. Make your story of your past life using the history movie you saw last week about, I don't know, civil wars, I don't know, or Abraham Lincoln, or I don't know, you know? Use what you saw recently, because that's real. It's coming from your seeds, okay? So in my case, I really use this science fiction book I'm reading. And I go into space and I'm in a driving spaceship and I'm a lady. She has silver hair, like this color, not gray. She's like, silver hair down to her waist and she loves to fly to different planets and help people, okay? Then I make a whole story about it in my mind. Is it real or is it fake? It's real fake. I mean, it's fake real, okay? Why? Anything you can think of to put in your story is coming from your seeds, okay? If you can think of it, if it comes in your mind, you have those seeds, okay? Even a story, even a movie, you have those seeds, okay? You can be Gen Lang R, okay? Because you saw the movie. You made the movie. So it's not copyright protected. You made it, okay? So okay, you can be a hero, army hero, you know, like that. It's okay, okay? So we're going to go back to our meditation, okay? And what I want you to do, just pretend you can see your past life, okay? We all know it's pretend, okay? I'm very careful. I'm in three WhatsApp meditation groups, Romania, Germany, and Chalapa. And I'm very careful. I don't want them to say Geshe Michael saw his past life, because it's not true, okay? I say, in my imaginary past life, in my pretending past life, maybe I was in a spaceship, you know? So just like that, okay? No pressure. Don't get tense. Geshe-la, I can't see my past life. Calm down. Did you see Star Wars? Yes. Okay, use it. Okay, anything you saw, use it, okay? Because that's part of you, okay? Environmental result, right? You wrote Genlong-er, okay? Okay, alright. So we're going to try again. We're going to go back into meditation, and start to make your story. And don't quit, okay? Don't be lazy. I was on a spaceship. Okay? Like, let's have a good movie, okay? Oh, we had a fight with another spaceship, and their old person came out, and I grabbed them, and I saved their life, you know? Then what happened? Oh, we were knitting together. Okay, like that. Don't stop, okay? Because whatever comes in your mind is partly true. You can't think of it if you don't have sin, okay? If you can think of it, you have a sin. So make a nice story, okay? Then if some people want to share their story afterwards, we can we can do, okay? And I want to hear some wild stories. I don't want boring stories, okay? Oh, I was in a car, and we drove, okay? I want something cool. We had a fight with the Star Wars Three Armies. Then the Guardians of the Universe came, and the Green Lady ran over there. Okay? Here we go. You made the Green Lady. She belongs to you. You have copyright, okay? Okay, here we go. This is all level nine. This is all the real meditation. There are three parts to the level nine, okay? There are three parts, or four. Okay, here we go. The first part was picturing your Lama with this beautiful quality. The second part was watching the seeds open, to put this quality on them. Now the third part, make a story about your past life. Fun story. Interesting story. Anything that passes to your mind, even for a second, is coming from your seeds. You can use it. It can be a crazy story. I was in outer space, then I was in a banana, and that's okay. Here we go. Have fun. Life is so short. Have some fun. Three long exhales, and then open your eyes. Stretch, take a drink. Anybody? Okay, I'll share first, then you won't be shy. So my silver-haired spaceship lady, she found another spaceship that was broken, and she opened it, and she found a very disgusting old lady inside. Like, covered with poo-poo, and no teeth, and smelly. Actually that silver-haired lady was kind of selfish, and she likes to have fun, like go on dates, and go to nightclubs in different planets. But for some reason she decided to take care of this old lady, and clean her up, and let her stay in her spaceship. Then one day they were watching the stars, and the old lady said, who made those stars? And the young lady said, I don't know. And the old lady said, you made those stars. And then the young lady said, I don't think so. They're too old. Then the old lady touched her hand, and because of touching her, she can see that she made the stars. She can see billions of years before how she made the stars. You see what I mean? So, a story like that. And because she took care of the old lady, I see my Lama now. She enjoys taking care of old people. Okay, all right, I want to hear some other stories. Tahiya. Wait, we need a microphone. Tahiya. I think the microphone's not on. Oh, now it's on. Okay. [Speaker 2] Thank you Geshe-la. So, in my story there was big fire. [Speaker 1] Wait, what was the quality of your Lama? [Speaker 2] Oh. [Speaker 1] No, I mean, what seeds did you plant? [Speaker 2] I think the seeds for being able to use the power of mind. So there's a huge fire, and we found some elephants, and the elephants could suck water out of the ponds and blow water out over all the fire. And then we found Clifford the Big Red Dog, and you have to have children to know that story. But Clifford could also like suck up all this water and pour it all over the fire, right, and helping to put the fire out. And then I realized that we also knew these yogis, these people, you know, who could use the power of their mind. So we all sat and we meditated, and we shifted the weather and brought the water from the ocean in big clouds over and poured down and put the fire out. And it had ruined a lot of houses, so then we had all the houses rebuilt with all environmentally friendly products and solar panels on every house. And all the people were so grateful for all the yogis and what they were able to do that everyone became interested in that and began to meditate. [Speaker 1] Cool. I like it. Anybody else? Come on, don't be shy. There's one. Gracias. Mine actually was my... Hold the microphone close to you, yeah. My lama's kindness. A kindness that went beyond herself. [Speaker 2] And mine was actually a dream I had two nights ago, after I heard your talk on the angels and devils. [Speaker 1] And the dream didn't end, so I went back to the dream to end it. And the dream was that I was living in a world that was full of chaos, sexual misconduct, no food, people were just atrocious to each other. It was barbaric world. And I was a teacher and I had two students, a father and a son. And one day they didn't come to class. And I found out the reason was that this father had to work so he could have shelter for them. And the son had to work so that he can get food. So I decided to follow the son and see what kind of work he was doing in this cruel, cruel world. And the son went into this house that was decadent, just horrible. And I saw him go into a couch. And inside the couch he was swallowing, people were doing sexual misconduct, orgies and such, and killings. And his job was to eat all the waste of their actions. And at the end he would get paid so he can go home and be his father himself. And on his way home he sees this prostitute who's being beaten by her whatever, because she didn't make enough money for the day. So he gives her money so that he doesn't beat her. Then he keeps on walking home hoping to buy some food. And he meets a waitress whose boss, the boss is not going to pay her because she did something wrong with the bill. And so he gives her money so that she doesn't lose her job. And he keeps on walking. And by the time he gets home he has no money. And at that point I woke up. And so I went back in meditation and said, what can I do? We live in this world that we created through our non-virtuous deeds and our misconducts. And yet we can have people who want to teach and people who want to help and be kind to others. And so I invited them to come back the next day to class, just for a little while, not to take them away from their job. And I had a feast of food for them. And I gave them food to eat. And they were very grateful because they had me. Cool. That made the seeds. Yeah. One more? One more? One more story? One more movie? I think? Did you raise your hand or you were scratching your nose? That's dangerous. Nobody? Stanley. Oh, sorry. My main focus is the quality of my Lama. They are very good at making people happy by doing different skillful things. So in my imagination, past life, I was, okay, she asked me to repeat. So it's mainly about how my teacher are so good at making other people happy in different skillful ways. And then in my imagination, I was a Kung Fu master who's really good at swords. And I can, in Chinese culture, they can draw some, like the, yeah, but on a special piece of paper and magic happens. It's a little bit like a protection mark. It's in the culture because I was reading a book about it. And then I like to do sneaky things to make people happy by using my special marks, like I will sneak. I was like falling in love with a rich lady. And then I tried to please her by doing different stupid things, like waving swords or making magical fires. And then I find out that actually she's not happy in her family because her father wants to force her to do anything, something that she doesn't like. So I was like, at night, I was like sneaking into her house. And somehow I use some magic to like put her father into sleep. And then I took her out. And then we're enjoying good life together. And then later we, I taught her how to do these magic things. And then we become Shen Tiao Xiang. How do you say that? What's the rating on this movie? What? Anyway, we become some kung fu partners that we quietly make people happy and we pretend we don't know anything about it. Something like that. Cool. So those are three parts of level nine. Okay? Three parts of level nine. Number one, yeah, decide one quality of the teacher. Number two, oh, and watch the seeds open. Make them. Number three, make a past life movie story. There's a fourth part and then that's the end of level nine. We're going to do it after a break. Okay? So take a 15 minute break and we'll finish the fourth part of level nine. Okay? Have a nice break. 15 minutes. Someone will ring a bell and please come back. Okay? Okay, we'll start. So just to review, the real meditation, okay? The first eight meditations are not real meditation. They're just warm up. Okay? Don't mistake the warm up for the real race. Okay? I remembered I forgot to tell you the names of the four formless realm meditations. Five, six, seven, eight. Okay? Number five, where you see the ripple on the lake, is it on? It's on? It's called nam kha thay. Say nam kha. Thay. Nam kha thay. It means endless space. Okay? So the idea is to stretch left and right. Endless. You've been inside a sugar crystal. That's kind of claustrophobic. And then you get to break out. If you want to do something sexy, I told Stanley because he always does, you can do the endless ripple inside the sugar crystal. That's kind of a challenge. Okay, nam kha thay. Nam she thay. Say nam she thay. So where you turn on the light and that's called infinite consciousness. Okay? Nam she thay. The third one is called jiyang me. Say jiyang me. Jiyang me. Jiyang me means nothing at all. And it was a popular wrong meditation about 1,200 years ago. Okay? And so there are a lot of discussions about it in the Buddhist books after that, because somebody made the mistake. They got off on the sixth floor. They didn't go to the restaurant. They just kept doing that meditation. Okay? Sorry, seventh floor. They kept thinking about nothing. They try to think about nothing. Okay? They try to turn off the mind. And it's a very popular wrong meditation. Okay? So be careful with that one. I taught this meditation to one group. I've been teaching them meditation for five years or something. I counted how many? Two hundred and thirty meditations. And then they said, now you taught us a real meditation. Because they got to turn off their mind. So don't get attracted to it. Okay? Many people did for 2,000 years. Many people made that mistake. Okay? Obviously it doesn't help you. That was a question somebody asked Tahiya I think, or Sarakhni. Yeah, why would you want to do that? It's just a mental exercise. You don't want to do it. Okay? You don't want to stay there. You actually cannot turn off the mind. It's not possible. Okay? But you can get that feeling. Right? So it's like exercise. But don't stop there. It doesn't help you. It just makes you... the karma of number seven is, if you do it too much, you become forgetful. You lose your iPhone. You're like those people nowadays. It's really irritating to be with those people. I was with one of them recently and they lost their phone. And we looked for like an hour. And I said, well, let's just call it. They said, no, I turned it off just before I lost it. I said, well, let's use iPhone Locate or whatever. And they said, I turned that off too. Really, we spent over an hour looking for it. And then they found it in their pocket. So, no, this is the karmic result of meditating on nothing. You just become a space... space doll? Space cadet? Okay. It doesn't help you. Okay. The fourth one is called du shes me du shes me min. Say, du shes me. Du shes me min. It means, I choose not to choose. I choose not to choose. Whether my mind is blank or whether things float through my mind, I don't care. I disassociate from everything. That way you don't even have to make the noise of the effort to keep your mind empty. If it's empty, okay. If it's not empty, okay. I don't care. It's called du shes me du shes me min. And they're all just ways to strengthen your meditation. They are not meditation. They are not meditation. Don't stop there. Don't make that mistake. And if you hear people teaching that, or your friends are doing that, then in a gentle, intelligent way, try to get them to change. Okay? Don't grab them on the shirt and say, don't do that meditation. Geshe Michael said not to do that. Okay? Slap them around, you know. But just talk to them about... of course, anything habit you get in your mind, it will grow. And then you just become like spaced out. You can't work. You can't have a family. You just become like vegetable. Okay? Not useful. Okay, last part of the ninth level. Okay? Everything so far in the ninth level, you can call in Buddhism... Who said that? I will kiss you but you're a boy. Yeah, dependent origination. Okay? Everything comes from my seeds. Alright? That's a high, high, high truth in Buddhism. Everything comes from my seeds. Okay? But a higher truth is the other side of this coin. You see? What's the other side of this coin? Yeah, nothing doesn't come from my seeds. Double negative. Double negative. There is nothing in the universe which did not come from my seeds. Okay? There is nothing in the universe which did not come from my seeds. A simple way to teach emptiness to a large group of people is to say, raise your left hand, point your finger. Now, point to something in this room that's not coming from your seeds. And then we say you arrive at emptiness. You see? You arrive at no such thing. Okay? That's a simple way to see emptiness. Intellectually, not directly. Now, imagine that the nice thing that you see in your dear teacher is just an accident. Okay? A black hole had a bad day, blew up, little pieces went everywhere, they bang into each other millions of times, monkeys come out, then the monkeys grow into humans and the best monkey become your teacher. You know? And it's all a big accident, you know? Black hole, you know, just explosion, it went a nice way and create your teacher. Okay? That's one possible answer. Where did the world come from? That's one possible answer. No logic, no justice, no meaning. Just boop, bloop, whoop, there's your teacher. You know? Just accident. Okay? That's science. That's science. Science believes that. There's no reason why you met them. You don't deserve them. You didn't make them. You just were on the bus and they got on the bus and you met them. Okay? Accident. It's a good, nice accident. Okay? In the last part of this section, in the lion's dance, you have to try to imagine that the teacher you met and what you see in them is just accident. No meaning. Okay? Just you met them out of seven billion people. If you didn't look that way on that day, you would have met somebody else. Okay? There's no reason why they came to you. And there's no reason why you met this person who likes to take care of old people. Okay? Like that. There's no reason. Okay? Try to find a teacher who has a beautiful quality that you don't deserve and you didn't help to make it. Okay? Try to imagine that. Okay? What's that teacher called? Gakja. Gakja. Okay? Impossible thing. Okay? Impossible thing. There's no such thing. Okay? Then you cancel it. Okay? You cancel it. Your mind, in English we say, your mind should rebel. Your mind should say, no, no, it doesn't make sense, Geshe-la. Teacher that didn't come just by accident, came to my life by accident, because some black hole blew up and the monkeys came, and this one monkey is more smart than the other monkeys. You know, it doesn't make sense, Geshe-la. I don't like it. You know? I don't like to say my teacher is an accident. Okay? Just the atoms bang into each other and make my teacher. You know? It doesn't feel good to me. It doesn't feel right to me. Keep that feeling, and that's close to emptiness. Okay? That's close to emptiness. Okay? So the last part of this part of the lion's dance, you try to imagine a teacher with those beautiful qualities, which is just an accident, and then your mind says, no. Okay? Your mind should reject. That feels uncomfortable to me, Geshe-la. It means my life has no meaning. It means everything's accident. You know? I'm just accident. Buddha's accident. Jingang Jing is accident. You know? Then they will go away and no meaning. Okay? You're in your heart. Your heart should say, no. Like Ezra, when you say, don't do that. Right? I suppose he goes, no, mommy, no. That's something children learn before they learn to say yes, usually. No, no, mommy. So in the last part of the lion's dance, focus. New teacher, not coming from the silver seed. Okay? You didn't make them. They came from accident of a black hole, and the best monkey genes created this teacher. Okay? Then your mind should say, no, mommy, no, no. Okay? Then you reach emptiness. Okay? Got it? Now you can watch this emptiness for a while. You can bring back the wrong teacher, accident teacher. Then say, no. Let them go away. Then bring them back again. Let them come two, three times. I'm your teacher. No. I'm your teacher. Black hole. No. I'm your teacher, smart monkey. No, no, no, no. Okay? That's emptiness. Okay? Then when they go, what's left is emptiness. Okay? It's not nothing. It's different. It's not number seven. It's not turn off your mind. Right? There's no impossible teacher there. Okay? That's higher reality. Okay? If you see that the teacher is coming from your seeds, that karma will make you see emptiness within a few hours. Okay? If you really see the seeds opening, creating your teacher, within a few hours you will see emptiness directly. If you see emptiness directly, you will become an angel within a short time and nobody can stop it. You can say, no, I don't want to be angel. It's too late. Okay? After you see emptiness directly, nobody can stop it. Okay? Nobody can stop it. It has to happen within a short amount of time. Okay? Your body cannot die anymore. You can show a billion bodies, take care of a billion people at the same time. Not billion. Billion, billion. Countless. Okay? You will be that person. You are Maitreya. Okay? You are the next Buddha. Okay? Don't go look in some book, oh, Maitreya, Maitreya. Who's the next Buddha? You are. No, no, I'm not Maitreya. You are Maitreya. I'm sorry. I don't want to be Maitreya. I'm sorry, it's too late. Okay? Don't go look for some Maitreya. Okay? Don't wait for Maitreya. You are Maitreya. Really, you are Maitreya. In your world, you are Maitreya. You are the next Buddha. Okay? And that's the purpose of meditation. Don't listen to people who teach a smaller meditation than that. Okay? Help a billion people at the same time not to die. That's meditation. That's meditation. Not, I feel more calm when I'm in traffic. A little bit different. Okay? A little bit different. Help a billion planets, or feel more calm during tax season. Which would you rather have? No, really, that's your choice. Do these stupid little meditations. Empty your mind. Something people made up. Or help billions of people. Okay? Become a person who never die and help billions and billions of people. Directly. Okay? It's a big, big difference. Okay? I don't think the other one should even call meditation. I don't think you should even call it wrong meditation. Meditation purpose is that. That's the only purpose of meditation. If someone teaches you some other meditation, you ask them, is this the billion planet meditation? No. Okay, you go away. I want to learn the billion planet meditation. Have a little bit of, what do you call, ambition. Okay? I want to help a billion people. I don't want to space out in the back of the yoga class. Okay? Come on. Okay? You were meant to save planets. You were meant to take care of planets. You weren't built to sit in the back of the yoga class and think about nothing. Okay? It's so funny. It's so useless. Okay? It's so meaningless. You have the ability in this life to help a billion worlds. You easily have the ability. So do something to get there. Don't waste your time. Okay, so two ways you can relate to the teacher who's not there. Okay, the monkey, big bang, black hole teacher. Okay, bring them in front of your mind a few times. Impossible teacher. Go away. Impossible teacher. No. Impossible teacher. No. Okay, let them come a few times. Okay? Then an Arya, an Arya, they will enter into that absence. They will become one with that absence for 10 minutes, 20 minutes. Okay? That's all. So at the beginning you are, the impossible teacher come here and you say, no, no, no. They come again and say, no, no, no. They come again and say, no, no, no. Then there's an intellectual space there, empty absence. Okay? Then try to go into it. Try to become it. Okay? Like you became the heart, right? Similar. Become that absence. Try. Okay? That's the only thing that will help you become a person who can help a billion worlds. Okay? Not even the silver seeds can help you that way. Okay? Somebody asked me, why can't I just look at the silver seeds for a half hour? It's not the goal. Okay? The goal is, the silver seeds don't have the power to change you into Buddha. They don't have the power. They have the power to bring you very close. You need them. But the next step is that emptiness. You have to go to that emptiness. Okay? Is it the same as turning off the mind? Not at all. No connection. Okay? Come on. Okay? Is turning off a light the same as saving a billion planets? No. Come on. It's not even... compare. No compare. What is stupid? What is the best thing you can do with your life? It's the reason you were born here. You were supposed to do that. Okay? You're like the messenger who got lost, their GPS broke, and you got stuck in this world. You're supposed to be a Buddha by now. Okay? You were supposed to go take care of some couple planets, but you got... you lost your GPS, you got born here. You're not supposed to be doing this. You're supposed to be taking care of some planets. Okay? Okay? So here we go. We're just going to practice bringing the impossible teacher to your mind. Okay? We have, I think, we have ten minutes, right? Question Daniel, out loud. Mm-hmm. Number one. Well, I'll just do it with you. Is that okay? Let's do it together. Okay, here we go. And then if you guys have more questions, we'll do tomorrow. Okay, quick easy way to get into meditation. Watch your breath. Ready? One, two, turn off your phone. Three, watch your breath. Watching your breath is not a meditation, please. Go to the middle of your mind. See the silver seeds. They are opening one by one. Follow each one individually. One opens, like a hologram comes out, moves to the front of your mind, goes out of your mind, settles on your teacher. And because of that, I have to see my Lama, loves to take care of old people, poor people. Those seeds were coming from my past life. I planted them. Now cancel that Lama who's coming from your seeds. Cancel the seeds. No more seeds. No seeds in the mind. No past life. No logic. Nothing connected to your personal behavior. Bring a Lama in front of your mind who is an accident. Just atoms. Blew up 60 billion years ago. They bump into each other in many, many different ways. Then one day came this beautiful Lama who loves to serve old people, and it's all just a big accident. Okay? Just atoms. Like traffic jam, some cars crash to each other. And then, boop, comes my Lama. I didn't do anything. Bring this Lama in front of you. Okay? This is called bubu Lama. Okay? Bubu Lama. Just a mistake. Just happened. Nothing to do with my goodness. Just accident. Happy accident. Then it should feel wrong. It doesn't matter you study Buddhism or you don't study Buddhism. It feels wrong to say life is random. Okay? Cancel that Lama who's not coming from your silver seeds. Cancel that. Say, no. Bring back the Lama who is coming from your seeds. This one is logical. This one looks kind because I was kind. I met this one because I was good. Now, ask that Lama to leave for a second. Bring back the mistake Lama. Bubu Lama. I don't deserve this Lama. This Lama just happened. Many atoms bump together, make their nose. Then many atoms bump together, make their eyes. Then part of your mind should say, no. No. It doesn't feel good. Go away. Let's bring back the Lama that I deserve. Let's bring back the Lama who is kind because I was kind. That one feels comfortable. That one is like a good soft pair of old jeans. Fits me. This Lama fits me. I like it. I can feel warmth. I can feel comfort that the world is logical, makes sense. I was good, so I have this good Lama. Last time, respectfully ask that Lama to step away and bring this Bubu Lama. Just mistake. Just random accident. Happy accident. Then cancel that Lama. There's some empty space there. Where they were, now there's nothing. Now drill down into that space. Go into that space. Try to live in that space. Two, three minutes. There is nothing in the world that doesn't come from how I treat other people. There's nothing. Go into that space. It's a nice space, comfortable space. It's a truth about everything. Watch three slow exhale breaths and open your eyes. It's not easy, okay? It's not easy, but that's the best meditation you can do. If you want to really help people. If you stay in that meditation for just a few minutes, you make many, many seeds to become a Buddha. Okay? And only that one can do it. Okay? Alright? Got it? Cool? Okay, not easy. If it was easy, you'd probably already be a Buddha, I think. Okay? Alright. Tim, you got any? Oh, by the way, today is Sechu. Sechu means two times every month there's a holiday of a very important Buddhist angel called Angel of Diamond. Vajrayogini? Or Jigang Yuja Mo? Mo? Mo. Jigang Yuja Mo. Then today is her holiday. Today is her holiday twice a month. So that's why we're doing Lama Chodpa tonight. Lama Chodpa means special prayer to celebrate your Lama, your own personal Lama, whoever's that Lama, and all the Lamas before them. Okay? On this world, other worlds. Okay? And relax, have fun. Your goal is to get to the end of the Lama Chodpa and eat all the offerings. They have no calories because they are offerings. So you're supposed to eat as much as possible and each one you eat make your meditation better. Okay? Not like, what do you call it? Yo-chow. This is special yo-chow. Special churro. Special dulce de leche. Argentina. Okay? So have fun tonight. Don't get serious. Okay? Now in the past we did, we tried to do one verse English, one verse Chinese, one verse Spanish. I think it just confused everybody. So this time Phil is going, we're going to do a big part in English, then we'll do a part in Chinese, and then we'll do a part in Spanish. Or maybe we'll do Spanish first. I don't know. It's up to Phil. Okay? Phil's the boss tonight. So Phil will do the English. I think Stanley will lead the Chinese, and Monica will lead the Spanish. And when it's not your language, then you can just close your eyes and watch Silver Seeds or reject the Bubu Lama. Okay? So don't waste your time. In this case, if you're dreaming about the end of the Lama Chopa and all the offering eating, that's a good karma. Okay? Alright. And then somewhere during that time you should say, I want to become a Buddha like that. Okay? Alright, Tim.
