[Speaker 1] Each meditation has a photograph. I like to put them on my phone, and I just follow them on my phone. Then if I'm on an airplane or Munich train station, I can do a little meditation. Okay, Adam, we're going to start at NGAR BYED KYI SDIG PA LA NI RGYUD Okay, actually I think it's or shaktom, shaktom is okay. Oh, there we are. Third line, yeah, shaktom. Shaktom is a way that we can remove bad karma. So shakt means to split a piece of wood with an axe. And it opens like that. So it means to open your heart. And in Buddhism, it's very important if you made a mistake in your life, like you really hurt somebody, that you tell somebody. So shakpa means tell somebody. It can be your friend, or it could be your lama, or your parents or something. So that's a shak. Just open your heart and admit. So I lived with my lama for 25 years, and every time I made a mistake, I would go to his room, and I'd make a prostration. I made a promise to myself, I will tell him. And it was very embarrassing because he's like a perfect lama. But it's good to do. When you open it, it helps to kill the karma. So if you're too shy to tell your teacher, you can tell your friend. When you make a mistake. Then shaktom. Dom means in the future, restrain yourself. Hold yourself back. Okay, I won't do that thing for two weeks. Make yourself a goal. And that's called dom. And it's the dom which kills the karma. So shaktom. We're going to talk a lot about this in the special class we're going to have this week. Because there's some connection between the pen and your bad karma. Somehow, if you understand the pen correctly, it blocks the karma. Forever. You can't go to lower realm. So how does that work? We're going to have a nice two classes about it. I never saw a single book in Tibetan which explains it clearly, the whole thing. Then I myself, I'm curious. What happens to the karma? If you understand the pen. Then I collected it from many books. There's a beautiful sutra about how Maitreya became Buddha. So, in the beginning, Maitreya is the next Buddha. Number four in this world. And there's a story how he became Buddha. And there's a beautiful story of how he reached the path of preparation, third step. After that, he didn't have to go down anymore. So, we'll use a lot of books like that. Okay, shak tong dang gyewa nang dak druk gyewa nang dak druk says, did I really do a good karma? gyewa nang dak druk means, did I really do a good karma? So, when you are dying, you start to question. Not just the bad things, but the good things. Like your whole life you thought, oh, if I'm Geshe Michael, then my whole life I'm teaching, I must have done some good karma. But when you are close to dying, you become very honest with yourself. Maybe the motivation wasn't that good. Maybe I just want people to like me. I want to be popular, something like that. So, when you are dying, when you are laid down to die, you become very truthful with yourself. So, that's what he's talking about here. DENG NI MED, what's DENG MED mean? Huh? Not what? No, not DENG, DENG. D-E-N-G, DENG. We have DENG already. No guarantee. So, here it means no guarantee. Did you do good things? Yeah. Were they 100% good things? DENG. [Speaker 2] DENG. [Speaker 1] No, maybe not. Okay? Or maybe not 100%. Then the next word we should put in the dictionary. Okay, Adam? Please repeat. MED PHYIR MED PHYIR MED PHYIR GYI MED PHYIR GYI Very important phrase, very important. You won't find this word in any other language, okay? We have to turn up the mics a little bit. This speaker is on vacation, I guess. [Speaker 2] Talk loud. [Speaker 1] Hello, hello, Mr. Nick. It's okay? It's okay. Okay, so MED PHYIR GYI SDUG BSNGAL We're going to start a dictionary, the entry. MED means crucial point. MED significa punto crucial. In Sanskrit? Marma. In Sanskrit, marma. He's got all these words stuck in his head. Does he take them out at night? I don't know. [Speaker 2] No, okay. [Speaker 1] So, MED means crucial part, marma. MED PHYIR in Sanskrit is chedika, chedika. PHYIR in Sanskrit is chedika. Diamond cutter is called dorje chupa, chupa. So, MED PHYIR means cuts to the heart, cuts to the crucial point. SDUG BSNGAL means pain, okay? So, when you die, when you're on the bed, and the moment you die, there's an extremely ... it's the most painful thing in your whole life. It's worse than having a baby. Like a hundred times worse. And it just bursts in your heart. You feel this incredible pain. There's no pain like that in the world. That's why people are afraid to die. Because you've felt it many times before. And you don't remember your past life. But part of you remembers that pain. That's why if you put somebody underwater, they will fight. They don't want to feel this pain again. Then something breaks inside you. And the pee-pee comes out, poo-poo comes out. Liquid comes out of your nose. And it lasts a long time in your mind. So, people are afraid of that pain. So, GNAD GCOD KYI SDUG BSNGAL means the pain of when the heart is cut. Then, SDUG BSNGAL KHYIM RIM GYI BDAG DANG ZHAR BYUNG BA means the four elements of the body. SA CHU MED LONG Say SA, CHU, MED, LONG SA means earth. CHU means water. MED means fire. Sorry. CHU means water. MED means fire. LUNG means wind. Then, these are parts of your body. It's not some kind of Chinese medicine story. It's the same as physics. SA means what makes things hard. So, Chinese medicine or Ayurvedic medicine, we don't believe there's some dirt inside of you. SA means the energy which holds things together. You can say like gravity. So, they call it earth, but it doesn't mean there's some dirt inside of you or something like that. Then, CHU, water, doesn't mean water. The element of water is the scientific force of water. When things flow, it can be electricity, it can be water, but when things move or flow, this is called the element of water, but it doesn't mean water. Then fire means warmth in your body. Anything which is warmer than absolute zero is fire. So, we don't believe there's some fire in your stomach or something like that. It means warmth. Then LUNG, wind means movement inside the body. Electricity or it could be hormones or anything, any movement inside the body. So, when you die, these four energies shut down. They start to shut down. And this is while you are unconscious, just after your heart stops beating. So, during that time, you go into a very subtle state of mind. And then you start to have hallucinations. When the earth shuts down, then the next element, which is water, it becomes more powerful. Then you feel like you're in a river, and the big river is taking you away. It's very frightening. You feel like a flood is taking you away very fast. Then when the water element stops, what's the next one? Yeah, fire asserts itself. Then you feel like you're burning or something. And you start to have these hallucinations. Like when someone hits you on the head really hard and you see these sparkles. You start to see these sparkles. And then that dies. And then the wind element comes up. And you feel like you're in a tornado or something. So all during that time, you are hallucinating. It's like being in a car accident or something. And then everything is very frightening. And everyone goes through it when you die. Then when the wind element stops, you see a light, like a candle light, but it's not moving. And then that light spreads, and then suddenly black. So the mind ... your family is standing next to you, it looks like 20 minutes or something, but inside it feels like a few years. And very confusing. And very frightening. So this is called DBYUNG BA THIM RIM. Gradually the four elements, they each dissolve into the next one. BDAG RNAMS SHAR means the signs come one by one. And it's very frightening. DRUL RNAMS means hallucination. You start to hallucinate. JIGS BDAG means you're in terrible fear. And that's when a lot of people let go of their poo-poo or their pee-pee. SEMS SDIG SNANG BA Then the light of consciousness, your awareness of the world, you have a kind of a ... it's not like a fire light, but your mind has a kind of light, right? You see things. It shuts down. BRAL LAM PA RGAG BRAL LAM PA means BRAL ZHIG DE LAS, like BRAL ZHIG DE LAS means bright. BRAL LAM PA RGAG BRAL ZHIG DE LAS Like BRAL ZHIG DE LAS means light. BRAL LAM PA means like this light of life, of life. It just shuts down. Everything is black. Then what happens? PHUNG PO What's PHUNG PO? Heaps. But in colloquial Tibetan, it can mean a corpse. So Adam, you should put that in a dictionary entry, okay? PHUNG PO Usually PHUNG PO means the parts of yourself. But in spoken Tibetan, it means the corpse. GANG PAS SOR KHUGS GCIG They take the corpse and they put it in a corner of the house, like in the back bedroom someplace. NYAL SEMS KYI BRAL BRAL means to wrap, and to wrap up. Like wrapping up... Wrapping? Yeah, like wrapping... NYAL SEMS means a bed sheet. They will wrap your body in a bed sheet until the police come. SHAG means, in Tibet, they just leave you there. SHAG in Tibet, they leave you there. YOD LAS BYAS And then they put a curtain to... Nobody wants to look at you. The body, after you're dead, the body is very ugly. Looks like an old fruit or something. And smells terrible. SRED DE MAR MED GNA GCOG BSKYED BA Then somebody will put a little... In Tibet, they'll put a butter lamp next to the body. GNA GCOG BSKYED BA means a very feeble light in the darkness. BAR means they will light it. LAMA LTA BU YIN NA If you're a lama, so in Tibetan, lama in the monastery, it doesn't mean teacher. It means those lama who is reborn from their last life. So it means big, big lama. Like number 10, or number 11, or number 12. Got reborn many times. So in the monastery, they are special people. They get the tea first. They get to sit in the best place. So LAMA LTA BU YIN NA So he's talking to the lamas in the audience. He says, if any of you guys are these reincarnated lama, DBANG RJE SOGS KUN TE They dress you up in your tantric crown, this crown, and very fancy. They dress you up in your big robes. DRAG CHAGS PO means very, very what do you call it? Like eminent or something. Like very, very, very, very handsome. Dead body. They'll put on your best, like in America, they put on your best suit. ZHIG SOS They will dress you up in that. LHAG LTA GANG SANGS DANG GOS BSTAN BYAMS SHING MTHO LA MTSON KYANG Nowadays, we are putting all our effort into buying a nice house. Getting nice soft clothes. I like my old jeans and my old shoes, they are very soft. BSTAN means, you know, you try 100 meditation cushions, so I like this one. This one's very, very soft. BYAMS means soft. What's the Sanskrit for BYAMS? Manju So Manju Sri means glorious, gentle voice. But with a cushion, it means soft cushion. And MTHO BA, we like nice warm sweaters, nice soft sweaters. MTSON KYANG We try to get those things, we try to buy those things. SHI BA'I DUG But when you die, in Tibet, RANG LUS GSUM THAB BYED means they they fold your body into three parts. One, two, three. Like this. Then they put a piece of leather around, like a big belt, and before you get hard, they wrap you up like this, and they tie a leather around your knees. Then they call the guy who carries the body, and he will grab the leather and he will put it on his back. Then they take you up to a mountain and they throw the body there. So, SHI BA'I DUG RANG LUS GSUM THAB BYED They will fold you into three parts. They'll take a DGE'ANG THOG means a leather strap. LTA BU DAM PA They will tie you up and they will throw you out on the naked stone. You were hoping for a nice mattress, or you know, you liked this nice soft sweater, you know. They'll just throw you on a stone, you know. GEMBA means naked, GEMBA. But it refers to the stone. They're not going to put down some nice cushions for you. Just throw you down on the stones and the dirt. GYUR BA means they will, the guy will just throw you down. In America, I don't know, maybe it's worse, okay? So for 25 years I was in this monastery and then you know, we serve a whole community of Mongolian people. Many of them are old. So, I don't know, every two weeks somebody's die. So, today I'm having tea with this guy. He's laughing. He's very funny. His name is Shurupji. We are having tea. He's a very funny guy. And then I was supposed to go to the opera with some rich sponsor. When I got to New York, my lama called me, come back, you know. We have some work, you know. So then you go to the mortuary. This is what happens in America, like you don't know. And that guy died suddenly, okay, my friend. And they put you on a metal table. And it looks like the little thing, the platter that you used to cut the turkey or the ham. It has a place for the blood to flow out. And there's a hole in the floor. And they cut open all your veins, you know. And you're naked on a metal table in New Jersey in the winter. Then they cut open, they have to do it fast because the blood will coagulate, so they take out the blood. It's like five gallons of blood goes down into the drain in the floor. And it's very messy. Then we're supposed to be, you know, OM MANI PADME HUM, OM MANI PADME HUM. [Speaker 2] That's it. [Speaker 1] Then they shoot in formaldehyde. It's like alcohol. And they dress you up in a nice, everything is naked except here they put a nice tie and a shirt. That's it. I thought, oh, he must be so cold. DA LTA ZAD GANG ZHIM LA LONGS SPYOD KYANG Yeah, right now we're just trying to get a nice croissant. Or a churro. Or a churro. Like, I don't know, maybe Yoha is the same as me. In the morning, my goal is not yoga, my goal is a croissant or churro. But he says, there will come a day when you are just hoping to smell one smell of a sur. Sur. So in Tibet, they understand when the body dies, the spirit comes out for bardo, right? Bardo. And during that time you can make offering to them. And it's a little bit like food. So they call tisa gandharva. It means a smell eater. So those spirits, they cannot eat food, but they can eat a smell. So we make a special torma. We use sampa, and a little bit of meat sometimes, and some fat, and we put it outside. And if the dead person is lucky, they can eat the smell a little bit. So he says, right now, you know, you wake up and you want a croissant, or a churro, or one of Susana's chocolate croissants. But there will come a day when you will be lucky to get one smell of that offering. tsang den nyenpay min geshe dang kusho dang gelong la sok ser yang Right now, people call you, oh, Geshe Michael. Geshe Yohai, something, okay? Or they call kushola. kushola means oh, Honorable Geshe. Or gelong la means Honorable Monk. ser yang, but nam shik But there will come a day when they will call you the body. Can you move the body? It's not Honorable Geshe Michael. The ambulance comes to say, can you get the body out of here? The body. They'll call you the body. ming dey tok tar tsem dey dang de nyi serwa du shi ong There will come a day when they attach to your name. When they add to your name, the late Geshe Michael. finado el finado Geshe Michael. Or that guy who, the ex-Geshe Michael. The former Geshe Michael. They will attach a new name. They don't say Geshe-la or kushola or gelong la. They will say, ex-Geshe Michael. lama tsul wang je tong na So you big lamas in the audience, he's talking to some lamas, right? When you see your tantric outfit, it's a special crown, special bell, some special robes. Sometimes we wear a wig to look like Amitabha or something. shek te tung la wang tse kun luk You should remember that these are the clothes they will put on the corpse after you die. Or if you're a DCI teacher and your partner just bought you a nice suit at what's that place called? No, we went to... I'll remember it later. You get a new suit and a new tie. Yeah, that was one of them, but there was one before that. Where we bought it. It's some guy's name. Anyway, when you buy a new suit, you can WeChat tonight. When I see my new suit, I think, this is the one they will use after I die. When you buy a new dress, maybe your family or your friends will say, oh, dress the corpse in that. She liked the new dress. She just bought it. Let's put the corpse in that new dress. She was really happy to buy it. So now you have to be a little bit paranoid when you buy a new cloth. Buy something that looks good with their coffin. Ted Baker. That's right. ZHES TE SDUG LA DBANG RDZAS KUN DANG DANG RANG NAS MNYAL TZAM MTHONG TSE And when you, tonight, Geshe-la finally allows you to go to your room, and you get to lay down on that sweet bed. I love beds. And you tuck yourself in. Maybe this is the sheet they will use. Okay? So you should be paranoid even about your sheets. MNYAL TZAM MTHONG TSE'ANG RANG MNYAL TZAM GYI BRAL BA This is the one they're going to wrap me in. Maybe. People like to wrap you in the sheet you die in because it already has poopoo on it. Why should we waste a good sheet? Let's use this one. BRAL BA CHEN GOS PA'I TSOS When you think like that, your suitcase is almost ready. You look at the new Ted Baker suit, you know, your suitcase is almost ready. Your sheet, and you're strong enough to say, maybe this is the one they're going to wrap me in. Then you're a sane person. Then you're not crazy. And the whole world is loco, crazy. They don't think about it. People die all around them. And they're like, they never think, I'm next, you know. So if you've been to this ten day course, then you'll be a more balanced mentally person. Yeah, maybe I die before the end of this course. You know. Then you can really enjoy your life. Then every moment seems very precious. And when you're sitting with your friends, it's very sweet. Like we have this precious short time together. Let's enjoy each other. Let's appreciate each other. Okay. A little bit more, okay? Be tough, okay? I know you're tired, I'm also tired. I'm older than you. BYAS MI LAS means, what's MI LAS? Yeah, Milarepa said, RO SHES JIGS SU RUNG BA DE Where is that very scary dead body? Here. Everybody's afraid of dead bodies. Nobody likes dead bodies. Nobody wants to be near a dead body. He said, you want a dead body? It's here. It's here. That's the one you don't like, it's here. Okay, so ME LUS DI GNYIS And DI GNYIS means, it's the body you're in. ZHIG MED BAR DO GRO ZHING DE It says SA LUNG LOG PA DANG ME LUNG LOG PA SOGS KYIS RIG PO REL BA DANG So, when we study yoga, deeper study of yoga, which I hope to do in Mexico maybe next year. We'll see. BAR DO GRO ZHING When you die and you're ready to go to the bardo, there's a special wind inside of the body, a vayu. It's called the earth wind. It's a prana, kind of prana. It's called SA LUNG. What's it called? SHES TA VAYU It's a kind of earth wind. And there's an agni vayu, fire wind. So in your body you have different kinds of prana moving. But just after you die, all of those pranas get confused. They start to fight with each other. Then you have all of these hallucinations. And it feels like mountains are, whole mountains are being torn apart. And the earth, they fall on you. It feels like that. MED BAR BA'I LONG DU SPYOD PA Then it feels like someone threw you into a huge fire, like the size of this room. CHU DANG LUNG GI KHYER BA You feel like the the tornado or the big ocean wave is carrying you away. And you go crazy. Now he's going to talk about this thing called PO BA So there's a Buddhist practice called PO BA. PO BA means to move your consciousness out of your body. Like, I don't know, even you can kill yourself purposely. And you can send your mind to Amitabha heaven or something like that. So many people ask me about it. Geshe-la, did your Lama teach you PO BA? Can you teach us how to do PO BA? So, here's the answer, okay? LAMA RGA' ZHIG GI BAR DU NGO DU AA MA ZHIG BSKYED PA YIN ZHES So, there's some kind of Tibetan Lamas. Not Tsongkapa's tradition. And when somebody dies, then they are like doing, they're saying some prayer ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba in Tibetan. You will see the blue line, go to the yellow line, turn left, you will see the blue line, you will see the yellow line, turn left. They say they are leading the spirit to the next world. Something like that. RO'I GOR LO GROL BYED KYANG So they sit at the head of the bed, above the head, and they do these long prayers to guide the person through the bardo. Then Pabongka says BAR DO LO GROL LO MA ZHIG BYED TSE If you really want to guide someone through the bardo, MA ZHIG RGONG DU BYED Do it while they're alive. MA ZHIG RGONG DU BYED Do it while they're alive. Because in that moment your mind is completely crazy. It's like someone stabbing you with a hundred knives. Mountains are exploding. Oceans are covering you. You can't listen to the lama, oh he said blue light, now green light. Forget it. It's too late. Get things ready before. Do it now. Take care of it now. Get the suitcase pack now. If you think you're going to be able to think about anything when you're dying, forget it. It's not going to happen. It's the worst time to practice. In the middle of a car accident, you're going to start your mantras then. You're going to do your five minute meditation then. Forget it. They're trying to sew you up and they're pounding on your heart. You're not going to ... It's too late. Do it now. Get it done now. Best thing is to turn the body into rainbow body now. Turn it into angel body now. Don't wait until the last minute. ,RDZIN PA MA PO DGONGS LA, ,SANGS SPYOD MA BRTAN PA MA BYAS, Find a bathroom before you have to pee. When you have to go, really go. It's too late. When you check into the hotel, find out where's all the toilets. Don't wait until you have to go. That's ... my lama used to say that. ,LTA LTAR MA ZHIG RGONG DU BYAS NA, ,DON CHE BA'ONG STE, That prayer has meaning if you do it now. ,NGES TSUL SA LTUNG LO RLONGS SPYOD PA SOGS RNAMS RGYUN, ,BDAG TU'O NGES ZHI BA'I BYA BA RNAMS KYANG, ,CI REN DE SNGA RYA BRTEN, So, there's kind of things that you do your whole life. There are many activities you do your whole life. Make some tea, brush your teeth. There's things you do your whole life. ,BYA BA RNAMS KYANG CI REN DE, But when it's time to die, you can't do any of them. You can't make a cup of tea. You can't brush your teeth. ,SNGA RYA BRTEN, ,SNGA RYA BRTEN means could you lift me up a little bit? Could you put the pillow behind my back? Please, please. So right now you feel guilty if you can't do a good headstand. On that day you say, oh please, please put the pillow behind my back. I can't do it. ,SNGA RYA BRTEN ZHES ZE, ,DGOS PA'I SKABS MI YONG NA, It will come. ,MA ZHIG GSUM BU SKABS SU MI YONG BA'I PHYIR, So before you die, you should do all those difficult practices before you... you know, now while you're young. Don't wait till that time. And if somebody tells you, don't worry, I will do Powa on you when you die. Don't worry. Just ask them, could you do it now? Let's just do it now. Let's take care of it now. Don't wait. ,MA ZHIG GSUM BU SKABS MI YONG BA'I PHYIR, Do you do some MI YONG BA'I THAG PHYIR? If there are things which are difficult to do while you are alive, they are going to be impossible while you are dying. Those emptiness meditations. If it's difficult to do after a cappuccino, it will be much more difficult while you're dying. Okay, do it now. Okay, a little bit more, then if you have some questions, I'll take some questions. ,'UN KYANG DE NGO SGRUB PA SOGS SANGS RGYAS KYI, ,CHEN LOB SANGS RGYAS MI KHYAB PAS, ,'BYUNG SRID REG PEN TZAM BYUNG BA NI ZHIG, But, he says, if your lama comes to you while you're dying, and they do some prayers for you, there can be, of course, there can be a great blessing. Very powerful. That's one reason why I live next to my lama. I live near my lama. Close enough to come and do the prayers before I die. I try to stay within an hour or two of my lama. That's why I live in Rimrock, Arizona. It's like a hot, hot hell? Something like that. But lama is close by. So, if I get in a car accident or something, they can reach the hospital within an hour or something. So, he says, although it's not the best time, still there can be a great blessing if your lama is there while you're dying. Let's stop there and take some questions, okay? You want to take a break? Let's do it. Let's do a five-minute break, okay? And we will do questions. Just five-minute break. Okay. [Speaker 2] Thank you, Geshe Michael. I have a question about the three cups. And the three cups, in the second cup you said we should not mix ideas and religions and esoteric. But when we talk about... But when you tell us to think about heart teacher, you tell us to think about any teacher. And it kind of seems like almost a mix-up. So, could you clarify this? If we call upon Jesus, whether it's not in contrast with the Buddhist tradition. Thank you. [Speaker 1] I always think of it like a French restaurant. So you can go to a classic French restaurant. Or you can go to a fusion French restaurant. And when you look on the internet to find a... you want a classic French restaurant. Then you check the menu online. You have snails and stuff like that. Escargot. Then that's a classical French restaurant. Then fusion French restaurant is like fish taco... What do you call that stuff? What's that dessert? Yeah, fish taco creme brulee. And that's okay. Sometimes that's nice. But what I mean is when you learn this system, then try to learn it very classical. And while you're learning, don't mix it up with other things. You see what I mean? When you're learning. So when you are finished with your education, you should be able to give a classic Tsongkapa explanation. So I mean learn to cook classical French food. I saw somebody, Susana had in your house, you have a Dalai, Salvador Dalai book, I think, something. Or Picasso. They were great classical painters before they went crazy. And the crazy was very good. But first they learned to paint realism. So what I mean is you should be able to teach classical Tsongkapa. And so it means you're able to cook a classical French meal. Then if you have a strange student who wants a fish taco creme brulee, if you can make it, you're a better teacher. So you have different skills. That's okay. I give Christian teachings often. This afternoon I gave a Christian teaching. But you should, when you learn this system, learn the classical French cooking. And then later if you have a student who needs a Christian presentation, that's also very good. But don't change what the Buddha designed. So it's a delicate balance. Supposed to be Buddha can see a million years into the future. So when they designed their teaching, it's supposed to be they know all the questions that every person will ask for the next hundred thousand years or something. So they designed it in a certain way. And I just encourage you not to mess with it. It's like if someone found the formula to cure AIDS, you shouldn't mess with it. If it works, don't mess with it. And I don't mean to be ... it's also a higher vow in Buddhism. Not to criticize other religions. This is tantric vow. You can't say bad things about other religions. You have to appreciate them. If you have time to learn them, you should learn them. So you break your higher vows if you criticize another religion. But keep this HIV recipe. It works, so don't fool with it. It works. I can tell you. I had amazing things happen to me in my life. This recipe, it works. If you try it, everything you want will happen. You can meet the angels, you can talk to them, you can meet the Buddhas, everything. You can get everything you dream. You just have to do it. But it's a good question. Okay, another question? Anybody? Gracias. Buddhist fight. Thank you. I wanted to know to be beautiful so I don't get angry. Which is the seed so you don't get angry to keep being beautiful? Okay, okay. So Nagarjuna said jinpe longchu ching gi de What's the next one? [Speaker 2] What's the next one? [Speaker 1] supe dang den sang gi ji sang ten ki lo Sorry, sorry. sang ten ki ji lo yi dru sewa yi sewa yi ni dung kun dru sewa yi ni dung kun Then he explained all the connections. Do this, you get this. Do this, you get this. jinpe longchu means if you want money, share what you have. ching gi de If you want to be happy, don't hurt other people. supe dang den If you want to be handsome or beautiful, don't get angry. sung gi ji sung gi ji means if you want to be respected by people, sung gi ji means if you want people to respect you, have fun doing your work. That's a cool karma. The more fun you have, the more respected you are. sang ten ki ji If you want peace of mind, then meditate. lo yi dru If you want freedom, think about the pen. lo yi dru Then he added two more lines. sewa yi ni dung kun dru means but love accomplishes all of them. sewa yi ni dung kun dru Love for other people, it's all of them together. So, how to stop the anger? How to stop the anger? I'll tell you something, okay? When your heart starts beating faster, I don't know about you, when I get angry, I feel actually some kind of pain here, something, you know. Then my breathing speeds up. Usually when he gets angry, he will smile. But my heart starts beating faster. Breathing speeds up. You feel some uncomfortable in your chest. When you feel those signs, you are focusing on a person who is not there. Because I didn't do anything. It's always there. When you get angry, it's always at the person who is not your fault. So, when you feel the signs coming, according to Buddhism, the only way to stop anger permanently is to understand the person you are angry at does not exist. Because you always feel it's not my fault. He hit me. He cheated me. He's hurting me. That's always, he, he did, he did, he did. So, according to Buddhism, the only way to stop anger forever is to understand. It's understanding the pen. That's why I keep repeating the pen over and over and over. There's a joke in Tibet. Two students were talking. One of them said, today I decided I'm really going to try to become a Buddha as soon as possible. The other one said, why now, after so many years, why you decide, now you decide you're going to be a Buddha? I just realized something. If I become Buddha, I don't have to hear about the pen anymore. Okay, good night.
