[Говорящий 1] (0:00 - 0:02)
Okay, so we'll start.

[Говорящий 2] (0:03 - 0:17)
We're talking about how you have to clean your bad seeds before you try to meditate.

[Говорящий 1] (0:17 - 1:08)
Then the meditation will go automatically well. So he says here, with me, G-yewa Kongtro. G-yewa Kongtro.

Yeah, G-yewa, so in the Dharma business there's a big potential profit, and there's a big potential loss. You can make a lot of good karma easy, or you can lose a lot of good karma easy. Those of you who are learning Tibetan, it's called the khen yin chenpo.

Say khen yin.

[Говорящий 2] (1:08 - 1:09)
Khen yin.

[Говорящий 1] (1:09 - 1:58)
Chenpo. Khen yin. Chenpo.

The other place you will see this expression is in the Vajrayogini sadhana where they tell you how to act while the tsok is being passed out, and you have to figure out how. G-yewa kongtro chenpo means if you make a lot of good karma, but if you get very, you know, there's a little angry, and there's really angry. Real angry.

I don't know about you, when I'm really angry I start to shake like that.

[Говорящий 2] (1:59 - 2:01)
I'm really angry.

[Говорящий 1] (2:02 - 2:26)
I'm not afraid, but I start to shake. I can't let it go for a week or a month or ten years. But every minute you are angry, it destroys a lot of bad seeds.

[Говорящий 2] (2:27 - 2:28)
Good seeds.

[Говорящий 1] (2:29 - 3:17)
So there's a lot of tricks you can do if someone starts to get angry in your house. Spill the salad dressing on them. Then everybody's like, they forget to be angry.

Then you save them a lot of good seeds. I'm not kidding, okay? You can start to take your pants off or something.

Then everybody will... And they forget why... They forget they are angry.

Then you help them a lot. So, kongtro chenpo.

[Говорящий 2] (3:17 - 3:21)
Anger destroys good seeds.

[Говорящий 1] (3:21 - 4:31)
But if you do four powers, you can clean a bad seed. That's a big potential profit and big potential loss. de yang shakpa la nyenpo top shi tsam gu, if you're going to clean your negative seeds, you must use the four powers.

Yay! He reached the four powers. So, many people studied the four powers during the DCI tours.

There are many explanations of the four powers, but this is one of the best. Nyenpo top shi tsam gu, tsam gu means all four powers have to be there. All four.

deng gi top shak gyu la ngun dzin yur kyang, The first power is called foundation.

[Говорящий 2] (4:32 - 4:36)
The first power is called foundation.

[Говорящий 1] (4:41 - 7:47)
It has been explained in two different ways in history. Some people say it is the person to whom you are telling your confession. Then somebody asked me today, why do you take bodhisattva vow?

Vow is much more powerful than not taking a vow. Why? A big reason is that you take the vow from some person.

Then when you're almost ready to break the vow, like if you took the vow from Alejandro in Guadalajara, you promised not to drink alcohol. Then after, I don't know, six weeks your friends are drinking some alcohol. Then you're like, they give you a glass, you know?

Smells good. Then you're ready to drink. What if they tell Alejandro?

I took a vow from Alejandro six weeks ago. Maybe somebody will tell Alejandro. Then he will be disappointed with me.

My teacher will, it will hurt my teacher's heart. Maybe I should have coca-cola. Like that.

So some people said to remember the person that you took the vow from is important here. KYANG, but RANG LUGS LA means in our tradition, SA LA RGYAL BA SA SHES LA BSTAN NAS BSTAN DGOS PA LTAR When you fall down, you need to push up against the earth. You need solid ground to get back up.

So there must be a foundation. GANG LA BSTAN NAS BSAGS PA'I BDE'I RGYUD TE DE LA BSTAN NAS SBYONG BA'I BSTAN LA BYAG DGOS TE SDIG PA NAS SANGS RGYAS LA SEMS CAN So it's not the, we say, it's not the person that you took the vow from.

[Говорящий 2] (7:52 - 7:57)
It's the people you hurt.

[Говорящий 1] (7:57 - 8:37)
Are like a foundation. You have to use them to get back up. So, he gives two examples here.

SDIG PA NAS SANGS RGYAS DANG SEMS CAN NI LA BSTAN NAS BYAS PA When you hurt somebody, you are hurting one of two people. Any normal living creature, you are hurting them.

[Говорящий 2] (8:38 - 8:51)
If you drink the alcohol which you promised not to drink, then you are hurting everybody, and you are hurting the Buddhas.

[Говорящий 1] (8:51 - 9:08)
So normal people, which includes all animals, etc., and enlightened people, you are disappointing both of them. Why?

[Говорящий 2] (9:09 - 9:13)
You're supposed to become Buddha.

[Говорящий 1] (9:13 - 9:25)
Many people are waiting for you. We are near Guadalajara. We're not in one thousand other cities at this time.

[Говорящий 2] (9:29 - 9:33)
So those people are waiting for you.

[Говорящий 1] (9:34 - 9:48)
They're like, get enlightened fast, I need help. You had the retreat in Guadalajara. You guys should get enlightened first.

Then you have to help us.

[Говорящий 2] (9:50 - 10:05)
So when you make a mistake, you are hurting all those people who are waiting for you. They want you to become Buddha.

[Говорящий 1] (10:05 - 11:51)
They are waiting. Then of course you also hurt the Buddha. So how do you fix that?

BSKYAB SEMS BSKYAB SEMS BYAS PA BSTAN GYI MTHOB YIN So BSKYAB SEMS means in Buddhism we say take refuge. Go for shelter. Then I grew up in a Christian church.

Sometimes I like to go because it's beautiful. I like it. It's beautiful.

Church is beautiful. I like the Mass. Some of us went on Christmas.

We went to a very small church. Then everybody was like, where are you guys from? Are you coming back?

Then we're like, goodbye. So when you in the Christian church, what is the line that you become Christian? Then the church will say baptism.

They take the baby and they put the water on the head. The baby always cries because it's cold. Nobody thought to make the water warm.

I don't know why. Then they say, okay, now you are Christian.

[Говорящий 2] (11:54 - 12:01)
In Buddhism, what is the line you become a Buddhist?

[Говорящий 1] (12:01 - 12:06)
When you know what is protection, you become a Buddhist.

[Говорящий 2] (12:10 - 12:13)
What is real protection?

[Говорящий 1] (12:14 - 13:56)
We can take example in your job. Your boss is very mean to you. Your supervisor is always hurting you, complaining about you, criticizing you.

So, how do you protect yourself from this supervisor? I'll give you two choices. Number one, you go to their boss and you say, this is not a good supervisor.

Or, you can make them coffee every day. Maybe they will like you. I was the big boss.

Every morning I had six kinds of coffee on my desk. Everybody. Which one's better?

Which one will give you protection? Neither one is definite to work. Sometimes you make coffee for the boss.

And they say, one lady used to make me hazelnut coffee. Her name is Anipelma. Don't tell her.

[Говорящий 2] (13:59 - 14:05)
Anipelma used to make hazelnut coffee. She's my assistant.

[Говорящий 1] (14:05 - 14:20)
She was my business assistant. Later she became Buddhist nun. She's in the three year retreat.

So she used to try to make me happy, to get a raise.

[Говорящий 2] (14:21 - 14:27)
She will give me hazelnut coffee.

[Говорящий 1] (14:29 - 15:19)
And I hated it. So I'm like, thank you very much. So coffee, maybe it protects you, maybe it hurts you.

We don't know. Then you go to the boss's boss. Maybe they will say, you're right.

I will talk to the supervisor. Maybe they will say, I don't like the employee who goes over the supervisor. So I will talk to them to fire you tomorrow.

It means any protection. Go to the police.

[Говорящий 2] (15:20 - 15:24)
Go to the court. Go to the doctor.

[Говорящий 1] (15:24 - 15:26)
Go to your mother or your father.

[Говорящий 2] (15:27 - 15:37)
Go to money. Go to power. None of them are sure.

[Говорящий 1] (15:37 - 16:52)
All of them can fail. If they can fail one time out of a hundred times, they are not good protection. If an airplane falls down one time out of a hundred times, I think you shouldn't take that airplane.

So a person who is looking for protection in those things is not a Buddhist. What does a Buddhist do? What is the protection for a Buddhist?

Yeah, it starts from here, right? Oh, that supervisor's coming from me. They are bad.

They are treating me bad. Why? Why are they yelling at me all the time?

Oh, my kids. In the morning. When they don't get ready for school quickly.

[Говорящий 2] (16:54 - 17:13)
I'm always yelling at them. That planted a seed and supervisor criticizing me. If I want protection from the supervisor, how do I find it?

[Говорящий 1] (17:14 - 17:18)
Stop yelling at the kids. Okay?

[Говорящий 2] (17:20 - 17:37)
When you make a decision like that, when you use this method to fix your problems, you use seeds. You don't talk to the big boss.

[Говорящий 1] (17:40 - 17:42)
You don't try hazelnut coffee.

[Говорящий 2] (17:45 - 17:50)
When you use seed to fix your problem, then you are a Buddhist.

[Говорящий 1] (17:53 - 19:08)
Not because you got water on your head. Or someone gave you a Buddhist name. There's a joke in my monastery.

My monastery is one of the biggest monasteries in the world. I think it's one of the three biggest monasteries in the world. To be the abbot of our monastery is a very big thing.

In the scripture, there was an abbot of our monastery, I don't know, 300 years ago. One monk, he has the power to read the other person's mind. In the old monastery, there are 10,000 monks.

They are all like, SA ZHIG BU GYI LTOS SHING 10,000 people singing SA ZHIG BU You know? Then one monk said to the other monk, the abbot is on the throne. He's leading the prayer for 10,000 monks.

[Говорящий 2] (19:12 - 19:17)
But he's not a Buddhist. He's not a Buddhist.

[Говорящий 1] (19:18 - 19:20)
He doesn't understand protection.

[Говорящий 2] (19:22 - 19:29)
He's the head of one of the three big monasteries in the world.

[Говорящий 1] (19:29 - 19:57)
And when he has a problem, he goes to the boss's boss or he's making coffee. So it's like that. What makes you a Buddhist?

That's the foundation. And that's what he's saying here. So when we teach DCI tours, four powers to clean your bad seeds.

[Говорящий 2] (20:00 - 20:05)
Power number one. Just think about the pen.

[Говорящий 1] (20:06 - 20:06)
That's enough.

[Говорящий 2] (20:06 - 20:11)
That's the foundation of all Buddhism.

[Говорящий 1] (20:11 - 20:27)
That's the foundation of enlightenment. Okay, I made an abortion. I stole my mother's money.

I don't know. I took my best friend's girlfriend.

[Говорящий 2] (20:29 - 20:40)
I made a very bad seed. Step number one. Just go get a pen.

Look at it.

[Говорящий 1] (20:40 - 20:44)
You got your hand in it, I don't know. Just think about it.

[Говорящий 2] (20:45 - 20:46)
That's all.

[Говорящий 1] (20:46 - 20:52)
Everything in the world is coming from seeds.

[Говорящий 2] (20:52 - 20:54)
Step number one.

[Говорящий 1] (20:55 - 22:05)
Just remember that thing. Okay, that's number one. Then he goes to Geshe Sim.

Then he said, you should also remember that the reason to think about the pen the reason we have DCI tour, the reason we are excited when one thousand people come, we want lines outside the nursing homes. We want no more poor people. No more war.

If everybody understands the only way to get money is to help other people to get money, there will be no war automatically. So when you look at the pen, think about your mission.

[Говорящий 2] (22:09 - 22:10)
Your goal.

[Говорящий 1] (22:11 - 22:20)
If I can learn to use seeds, I will succeed. Everything I do will succeed.

[Говорящий 2] (22:24 - 22:28)
And then, and only then, people will copy me.

[Говорящий 1] (22:30 - 22:33)
It doesn't matter how much you talk, blah, blah, blah, blah.

[Говорящий 2] (22:34 - 22:46)
You can learn fourteen Buddhist languages, but if you're not happy, who's going to come to your class?

[Говорящий 1] (22:48 - 23:27)
I want to teach you meditation. Become calm. No, I mean, the new people, usually they are polite.

They say, thank you, thank you very much. They will stay for the, they paid a ticket, they will stay for one hour. Then they will go home, they say, those people, they're crazy, who wants to be like that?

[Говорящий 2] (23:32 - 23:46)
So, the real way to teach is to use it on yourself first. Then be a successful person.

[Говорящий 1] (23:47 - 24:16)
Inside and outside. And of course, people want to know, what are you doing, right? I told this story one thousand times, I will tell it one more time.

I didn't see the whole movie. There's a movie called, Harry Met Sally. I didn't see the whole movie.

[Говорящий 2] (24:17 - 24:19)
But I heard about it.

[Говорящий 1] (24:20 - 25:40)
Then I have made my own version. Then one guy is sitting with his girlfriend in the restaurant. And then he says something like, I'm pretty sexy guy, huh?

I'm pretty good in bed, right? Then she said, not really. He said, every time we are in bed you have orgasm.

Then she said, not really. He said, every time we're in bed you look like you're having, you know. Then she said, she said, a lot of times with you I have to fake it.

Then he said, no, no, it's completely real. Nobody can fake it like that. Then she said, I can fake it right now.

In the restaurant. You want to see?

[Говорящий 2] (25:42 - 25:46)
Then he's like, okay, show me.

[Говорящий 1] (25:46 - 26:28)
Then she started to go, and then you want to try fake? Then everybody's eating dinner, right? Everybody's looking at her, you know.

Then one rich lady came in. Very nice clothes. White suit.

Gold, all gold.

[Говорящий 2] (26:31 - 26:31)
Pearls.

[Говорящий 1] (26:31 - 26:43)
Then she sits down, you know. And she's, the waiter comes. She's watching this lady.

Then the waiter said, excuse me, madam, madam.

[Говорящий 2] (26:47 - 26:50)
Here's the menu. What would you like to eat?

[Говорящий 1] (26:52 - 27:17)
Give me what she's having. Then if you are a happy person, of course other people will say, give me what you're having.

[Говорящий 2] (27:21 - 27:23)
Whatever you are doing, teach me.

[Говорящий 1] (27:24 - 27:39)
Sometimes we are on the airplane. People actually come to us and say, what do you guys do? Can I hang out with you guys?

You look like you're having fun.

[Говорящий 2] (27:41 - 27:45)
So that's the best way to teach.

[Говорящий 1] (27:45 - 28:26)
Not blah, blah, blah. But you are happy. NAM PAR GSUNGS SBYIN PA'I RTOGS NI RGYUR SEMS TE So the second of the four powers is called destruction.

Destruction power. And it means, I must clean this seed now because it's going to double every 24 hours. I must clean it now.

It will grow like a cancer.

[Говорящий 2] (28:27 - 28:30)
I must cut it now.

[Говорящий 1] (28:31 - 29:42)
That's all. DI YOD NA SDOM SEMS KYANG SBYUNG If you have number two, number three is automatic. And number three is the most powerful.

And number three is the most important. I won't do that thing anymore. I won't make that seed anymore.

So if you cannot remember four powers, number three is most important. I won't do it anymore. That kills the power of the seed.

If you had an abortion. Just say, in my life I will not do it again. Then it kills the power of that seed.

You stole some money from your mother or father or something. And just say, I won't do it again. Or you cheat on your husband or wife or something like that.

I won't do it again.

[Говорящий 2] (29:43 - 29:49)
Then it kills the seed. That's the most important. It kills the seed.

That's the most important.

[Говорящий 1] (29:50 - 32:08)
SDOM SEMS KYANG SBYUNG DE STOB BYED RANG BA NA LAS NAS SHES DGOS Can you keep your promise? If you need help to keep your promise, study more about karma. For example, very small thing, you push somebody on the bus.

You try to get on the bus. And you push another person. Let me on the bus.

That little push doubles every day. After six months, your husband hits you or something. Something very serious.

It comes from this. Then if you understand about karma, you're always like... You get on the bus, okay?

The person who understands about karma, of course they are gentle. I was in New York and a few years ago, I just had a big problem in my life. On that day I was alone for the first time in many years.

Then I felt very strange, very, I don't know, very, very terrible. Then I went down. I have to go to record Diamond Cutter Book in Amazon.

So I'm like this. I call a taxi. Then taxi stop.

I get in by myself.

[Говорящий 2] (32:08 - 32:16)
And then taxi goes. Then that driver is very strange.

[Говорящий 1] (32:18 - 32:41)
Every time somebody wants to walk across the street, he's like, and then some car wants to cut him off. Then he's like, I said, who is this guy?

[Говорящий 2] (32:44 - 32:45)
Where is he from?

[Говорящий 1] (32:46 - 33:03)
Then all the New York taxi name, driver's name is in the paper. You can see it in the back. I checked the name on the paper.

Dorje Tenzin.

[Говорящий 2] (33:05 - 33:06)
Dorje Tenzin.

[Говорящий 1] (33:07 - 33:43)
I'm like, hey, are you Tibetan? Yeah. Did you used to be a monk?

Yeah. How did you know? Then we started talking in Tibetan.

Then I thought, I'm not alone. Someone taking care of me. But his manner, the way he drive the car, all the New York taxi drivers are crazy.

[Говорящий 2] (33:46 - 33:49)
He's like, he's happy.

[Говорящий 1] (33:52 - 33:58)
Then we have to be like that. Even to cut a car like that.

[Говорящий 2] (34:00 - 34:15)
If you understand karma, if you understand how karma grows fast, you won't do anything like that. Super careful.

[Говорящий 1] (34:16 - 34:30)
And it makes you a more happy person. Okay, you guys go. I have time, okay?

No, I'm not in a big rush. I'm not going to risk my life to save one minute. You go.

[Говорящий 2] (34:30 - 34:43)
I have time. No. A person who understands karma, step number three, it's easy for them.

[Говорящий 1] (34:45 - 34:50)
I don't want to hurt anybody again.

[Говорящий 2] (34:50 - 34:52)
I won't do it again.

[Говорящий 1] (34:54 - 35:53)
DER NA For example, MI GSUM GYI LTOS DANG DES PAS ZAD NYAMS SU ZAD TE Three people are eating in a restaurant. They all order one plate like in China. I like that.

I like that person. In China, we always eat together. There's a big wheel in the middle.

And we all spin the wheel, and we just take things. So we all eat from the same food. So in this example, three guys are in a restaurant.

They order one plate of enchiladas, and they are all eating from the same plate. Then suddenly, one of them goes, and he dies.

[Говорящий 2] (35:58 - 36:02)
Then the other two are, what happened?

[Говорящий 1] (36:02 - 36:49)
Then the second one is like, I don't feel so good. I don't feel so good. How does the third guy feel?

So, we're supposed to feel like that. Oh, I did abortion. I cheated on my partner.

You can see many people who have terrible problems. Then, oh, I will be like that. I won't have a good partner for ten years, twenty years, because I made one mistake.

[Говорящий 2] (36:53 - 36:58)
Then my partner will cheat on me for ten years.

[Говорящий 1] (36:58 - 37:03)
It's like the other guy died from the poison, and he already ate the food.

[Говорящий 2] (37:09 - 37:12)
It's like, how to take it out? How to take it out?

[Говорящий 1] (37:13 - 39:09)
So, then you have desire to take it out. Then many of us grew up in a Christian church, and they said, if you did those things, you are a bad person, and we don't like you, and you go to hell. Goodbye.

Then, we feel terrible all the time. We feel I'm a bad person. Also Jewish, right?

In Jewish tradition. I'm a bad person. I'm an evil person.

Because somebody ate an apple a long time ago. So, all of us are bad people. Then, in this system, you're not supposed to think I'm a bad person.

You're supposed to be like a warrior. Like a cowboy. Show me the bad seed.

Where's the bad karma? You're supposed to be a little bit tough. Okay?

You're not supposed to be, oh, I'm a bad person. See, show me the god damn seed.

[Говорящий 2] (39:11 - 39:14)
I'll kill him. Get rid of him.

[Говорящий 1] (39:16 - 39:29)
No, I'm not kidding, okay? You're supposed to have some gayardia. Some chutzpah.

Chutzpah. You're supposed to be a little tough.

[Говорящий 2] (39:31 - 39:40)
I made a mistake. So what? I can kill the seed.

Then I'm clean.

[Говорящий 1] (39:43 - 39:49)
Really, I'm not kidding. I'm not joking. Okay?

So, be tough with your bad seeds.

[Говорящий 2] (39:52 - 39:52)
I'm not kidding.

[Говорящий 1] (39:53 - 40:13)
My teacher told me, never use a bad word in the class. But if there's a purpose, I think it's okay. It means, don't be wimpy.

I made a bad seed.

[Говорящий 2] (40:15 - 40:18)
Be tough. I can kill it.

[Говорящий 1] (40:19 - 40:22)
Any bad thing I did, doesn't matter.

[Говорящий 2] (40:24 - 40:27)
Any bad seed you can kill.

[Говорящий 1] (40:27 - 40:31)
You just need a good pistol. All right.
